Mmmmmm post sleep Tennocon Rambles under the cut

Ofc because I just started vet school last week (yay) I couldn’t attend in person. Really sad I couldn’t attend because I’ve always loved it when I went to the 2017 and 2018 events. Had to watch the stream, but it look like from pictures everyone had tons of fun and I’m glad it was a success. Next year, please let it be closer to the middle of the summer akdjejak

Art panel, the highlight for me as always as an artist myself. Really cool to see all the concept works from way back in Dark Sector. I’m so sad the art book was so expensive and sold out so fast, but I hope this means they can be inspired to do a reprint in the future (maybe when food expenses arent draining my bank like a whirlpool….) The new upcoming concepts I can’t say I’m a fan of all too much. Grendel is my most hated frame but the boar is a cool inpiration for him. I personally think the game is very oversaturated with Liger concepts, so as per most Liger deluxes Sevagoth wasn’t my cup of tea. They designed the frame, why not have someone else take a shot as his deluxe? I didn’t catch who designed Yareli’s bu that one was interesting.

And….. the Heirloom skins collection. They’re pretty. I though Mag’s was for Nova and got too excited for a bit. And as a Frost main I’m always glad for more content containing him, hell I squint at his skin because it has a few elements that are strikingly similar to my Deluxe concept for him back in 2021. But. The price. I want to buy it, but this entire collection pitch is exactly what Digital Extremes has vow to not do in all 10 years with their fair free to play model, and this sets a very bad precedent if it were to continue. $90 USD is too high of a price for a pack of skins marketed as being in celebration of 10 years, inflated artificially with the Regal Aya. A pack of 6 (with an extra bonus, making 7 total and 400 platinum) is $40 which means everything in the second tier pack is only $30. The same price as the low tier. The only new thing the skins intoduce are the Signas, which are cool, but I gesture to Kaithe coronets. The skins have no new visual effects for abilities, no new animations, not even new idles like recent Deluxe skins have. Rebecca used the word “prestigious” for describing the pack. And I beg her to NEVER use that word again for cosmetics. Prestigious content is a very slippery slope. Take the Prestige skins from League. Because of those skins Riot is now thinking they can make a variant recolor of a very old Jhin legendary and mark the price up to $200. Warframe doesn’t need that. Not to mention the FOMO. The Heirloom pack is gone at the end of the year. Even past Prime Access comes back in Resurgence after a few years. Nightwave brings back old items from past story events. The only thing that has never returned was the Founders Packs, for a good reason. The Heirloom collection feels like a rehash of the Founders marketing in the present state of them game where it’s most likely not trying to stay afloat. FOMO has never existed in Warframe, and it shouldn’t be added now.

Don’t even get me started on that 10 year Accolade in the packs. Accolades have usually been for people who made a notable contribution to the game. Founders, Closed Beta testers, Creators. All of them have some sort of impact on the game be it keeping it afloat in the starting year or contributing to the Community. Now a shiny sticker can be added to any account for as low as $30. I’ve been playing the game for 8 years. I’m not a ‘10 year supporter’ yet. The wording itself insinuates that to supoort the game for a decade, you need to pay. That Accolade should have been something added automatically when your account turns 10 years old.

Overall I’m extremely disappointed bu the Heirloom marketing as it stands. Will I buy it down the road? Chances are high when I’m not bleeding for food with school going on, which is at the very end of the year right before it goes away cause I also give into FOMO. DE has adjusted their strategies before, and I hope they do so now. But this has already set a bad first impressions for any future Heirloom content.

Anyway, rant over on that. Sound panel was cool. Always cool to hear how specific sounds are made like Kullervo. The Heirloom debacle kinda soured my mood for a bit, so I focused more on studying my classes and then went shopping with my roommates.

Came back a little late to TennoLive, probably halfways thru the Soulframe demo. From what I saw I really like the whole concept and thematic. The little turtle guy is so cute. Excited to see more of its development and eventually play it.

The Warframe aspect I had more range of feelings. Whispers in the Wall looks really cool and I’m excited for exploring what the fuck Albrecht is doing. I love how its expanding Deimos more, instead of adding another island and button to navigation. It feels like it’ll require the New War to access, since its all based around the aesthetic of the Man in the Wall seen at the very end of the quest. I’m very interest in the human Loid (best design from Liger since Nezha Empyrean imo). I hope he gives more insight into the attitudes of the Orokin since he is 99% likely from before the Old War.

And… Warframe 1999. I got sucked into Warframe because of it’s unique spin on fantasy sci-fi. And throughout the 8 years I’ve played it’s stuck to its aethetic formula to a T. Seeing CRT monitors and Nokias along with Entrati designs, the modern sci-fi elements and callbacks to Dark Sector makes it feel out of place. Blasphemous almost. But, I’ve had this feeling before with Duviri. I had reservations as to whether Duviri would break the Warframe Universe as we knew it. But DE made the Paradox make sense, and the aethetic language of the world fits perfectly into the formula. I absolutely love Duviri. I need to see more and play 1999 in order to feel how it connects to the Origin System and Duviri as a whole, be it the very distant past (and being born in 99 myself makes me…. Haaaaa) or a parallel universe connected by Void Fuckery(tm). But seeing how Duviri played out I have no real doubts DE won’t pull it off again.

Champagne Celebrations

Ireland was just too expensive and overwhelming to plan with friends. I procrastinated doing my research and saving money. To be fair, I’ve only ever travelled to either visit a friend or to all-inclusive resorts, my longest flight being 5 hours. So planning Ireland felt like too big of a bite to chew. I thought about Nashville or Mexico instead, but I wasn’t all that excited to be honest. I started to feel just over the whole trip idea until a light bulb went off in my head.

I was trying to think, what sounds like me? Where is a place that’s calling my name and feels exciting in my heart? I thought, I want to go to a Broadway show in New York City with Mom! & all of a sudden, that felt super inspiring and actually do-able. I texted her and she was all in, no questions asked. That same weekend, the very first thing we booked for our trip wasn’t the hotel or the airplane ride - it was Broadway tickets to see Wicked LOL ... It felt too good to be true because my Mom’ favorite movie (besides Titanic) has always been the Wizard of Oz. There are so many things to do in our little 4 day girls get away and we’ve got lots of things booked - So I was curious to add everything up and see just how much we’ve spent planning the trip so far;

Broadway tickets - $260.20 Empire State Building - $88 Statue of Liberty - $49 9/11 Museum - $66 Hotel - $747.21 Airplane - $691.94 (Paid for with Airline Credit)

Honestly, that was better than I thought. That’s also for the 2 of us so like $825 each! Let me explain that airplane ticket though...

Back when I booked my flight to Texas out of Pearson, the whole airport and my airline was full of chaos all over the news about stranded passengers and lost luggage, cancelled flights etc. So I got real nervous and booked another flight for the same day, out of Detroit (which turned out that a lot of cancelled flights were happening there as well). So I kept both tickets until the same day as my flight just to be safe, in case one or the other cancelled last minute. At the end of the day, I boarded my flight in Detroit, cancelling my other ticket (no refunds allowed) and received a credit for that $1154 to use anytime, for anywhere. I didn’t dare tell my parents I couldn’t get a refund for this insanely over priced flight. But Mom and I were pretty dang happy about it when it made our flight to New York feel free!

I have $1600 USD saved and plan on taking about $800 of that out in cash. Which I thought sounded like a lot for a 4 day trip but when you break it down I think it’s a safe bet; if we average $20 for breakfast, $25 for lunch and $50 for dinner, that’s over $100 with tips just for food in one day. 800/4 = $200/day. I’ve also got my credit card which can hopefully be paid off by the rest of what I have saved for the trip :) Because that’s the worst feeling - coming home to a huge credit card bill racked up after all the fun’s been had.

I’m really excited about our trip - just 4 days away! Here’s to turning 26th on the 26th and popping some champagne <3

So I went to one of the UNESCO sites, the Hanuman-Dhoka Durbar Square with entrance fee NPR 1000 (literally the local they don't even bother to purchase the ticket). Then I walked to the Monkey Temple on which I have to climb the stairs just like Tangga Batu Cave (penat bhaii, but it was a good warming up session for ABC). The entrance fee was NPR 200. Actually you don't have to climb the stairs because you can reach to the temple by motorcycle or car. Literally I couldn't find the Kamar Taj... 🥲 . #TravelTips 1. You don't have to bring much hiking stuffs from your home as the hiking stuffs in Kathmandu are very cheap. Even though the stuffs are not original, but the imitation hiking stuffs are grade A with high durable quality. 2. You need to bargain while shopping at least 40-60% off of the price tag. Not only stuffs you can bargain, the money exchange rate also can be bargained. The key to get a super good price is you have to 'buat2 merajuk' kahhh 🤪. 3. Always wearing your face mask while walking along the street as the city is full with dust. 4. MYR is way valuable than USD at the airport while you're applying for the Visa On Arrival. It only cost you MYR 140. 5. Normally the taxi fare for 1KM ++ cost you NPR 200, try to nego but if they insist for you to pay NPR 500, then just find other taxi. 6. Halal restaurants are very easy to be found on Google Map. My favourite were Lanzhou Lamian and Shafqat. 7. Local sim cards are very cheap depending on the package that you want. Mine was NPR 700 for 10Gb data for 30 days. Just prepare a passport photo and your passport. . Hi! I'm asking for donations to help cover living expenses, approximately $1000. I cut off my mom in December 2020--she was toxic and abusive, and I definitely couldn't be out like I am now. Through spring and summer I was able to stay in college dorms, but I need to find a new place to live by the end of August, and my savings are pretty much shot to hell. My campus job was terminated due to low GPA from last spring, so being able to get enough donations to cover rent (around $500-$600) and moving costs (around $200) until I can find a new job will help greatly. As well, I don’t have much in the way of furniture, and at bare minimum need a mattress (around $200).

Ah, Guatemala. The place where I briefly became fluent in spanish, caused havoc by falling down a mountain, and plucked a chicken because the boys fucking abandoned me. Absolutely none of my Guatemala fuckups (which also included fire ants and a brief introduction to how creative cursing can get in central america, courtesy of the professor who organized this trip) can compare to the staggering ineptitude of Shark Boy.

Guatemala was supposed to be a one month business and culture course on the developing world, organized by my Spanish 301 professor. I got double credit by going as a translator and helping our TA, a biology grad student from Mexico, do water sampling, so for the first week I was blissfully unaware of Shark Boy’s true potential for chaos.

Sure, I was there when he said “This hike is easy, I’m training to be an EMT, I’m tougher than all of you,” and when he came back to the hotel altitude sick. I was there when he claimed “I can’t get sunburned,” and then the next day wondered why all his skin hurt. I was actually a witness to the whole thing when he payed about six hundred quetzal (at the time, 70 usd or so) for a decorative machete at the tourist market, where even the most anglophone other students were aware that bartering existed, and the TA and I, wandering around gossiping in spanish about the biology professors, were offered a very similar one for 200 q, due to the spanish speaking discount.

Even worse, it became evident after we left the market to continue our 6 hour drive to the coast in a coach bus so top heavy that it resembled a peg-legged flamingo, that Shark Boy believed this machete was 1) an amazing deal 2) a functional weapon or tool of some sort. Despite the demonstration that it could not reliably cut paper, which we conducted in the aisle of the bus as it careened down the mountain highways and “I will walk five hundred miles” played on repeat from someone’s middle school CD player because we couldn’t get the thing to change tracks anymore.

I spent most of the ride in the back with my exploration group, which included two trained lifeguards, alternately trash talking shark boy, the ex-roommate I shared with one of the lifeguards who had scarred me emotionally and her physically, and the superbly annoying chick that we’d been rooming with who complained about the food every. single. day.

So we missed the beginning of the shark conversation entirely, but by the time we started paying attention, it went something like this. Sharkboy: But there are sharks here? Mistake dude #1: Dude, there are sharks in EVERY part of the pacific ocean. That’s where they live. Mistake dude #2: Not just the pacific, every ocean, but yeah. Sharkboy: Like, shark fishing sharks? Mistake dude #2: What, you think we’re having shark for dinner? Shakboy: Shark steaks! We could have shark for dinner. Mistake dude #1: Dude, I actually did the reading, we’re going to a shrimp farm, not a shark farm. We’re having shrimp. Sharkboy: Damn, I wanted shark steaks.

Mistake dude #1, who had the misfortune of accompanying shark boy to all his previous exploits of idiocy and should have known better: Get them yourself.

Mistake dude #2, sharkboy’s fed-up roommate: Yeah, like how you got your fucking machete.

Sharkboy: You don’t think I can do it? You watch, I’m going right on in there and I’m gonna hunt a shark with my REAL and totally deadly machete. We’ll have shark for dinner, and then you’ll see! The entire bus: Yeah, sure, whatever, SHUT UP.

Periodically for the next three hours Sharkboy would insist that he was going to go shark hunting, with his machete, in the pacific, and people would tell him he was not, that he was a dumbass, that he should just shut up and wear his fucking sunscreen like everyone had told him to five thousand times, and that his machete was made of scrap metal and plastic. No one took him seriously, despite his previous track record, because his previous track record included hours of bragging about how fit he was due to EMT training while struggling to carry his own pack, and chickening out of cliff jumping because he ‘didn’t want to ride back to the hotel in a wet swimsuit.’ Surely nobody, not even this guy, was this stupid. He just wanted to have a “says you!” to the other boys, all six of which were tired of his shit and got no sympathy from the girls, who were conducting a coordinated campaign to keep each other from smothering food-complainer girl in her sleep. We made it to the ocean at about 3 pm. We changed into our suits and went out to inspect the surf. “Um,” said the professor, staring at the churning grey-green waves scalping the beach and spitting sand and gravel back onto it the next second. “Everyone wait. Lifeguards?” The lifeguards looked at each other, the ocean, then each other. One of them found a stick and lobbed it into the shallowest bit of surf. We all watched it get flipped over vertically twice and then dragged under like Barb in Stranger Things. “Nope,” said one lifeguard. “Absolutely not.” “I wouldn’t even wade in this.”

“Well,” said the professor, “That’s that. Nobody get in the - what the fuck do you think you’re doing?” Sharkboy, who we had left in the changing cabins taking too long to suit up, had arrived, and was marching right towards the water wearing not only his suit, but his watch, his hat, his sunglasses, his flip flops, and that goddamn machete, brandished like he was about to Indiana Jones his way through the rainforest and probably get run over by a boulder trap and squished like a bug. “I TOLD YOU,” he said, as his feet hit the very top line of surf, “I’m getting us a shark for dinner!” “The water’s not safe,” said a lifeguard, while other people shouted things like “you’re a dumbass,” and “that’s not even a thing,” and “give it up already.” He turned a little, water halfway up his shins as another wave came in, opened his mouth and “HUMAN CHAIN, NOW!” bellowed a lifeguard as sharkboy got knocked over like a thursday night strike at a greasy bowling alley, clawed once at the sand, and went right down under the waves. The human chain, headed by two lifeguards, went right down after him and somehow grabbed him by the shorts as the wave retreated, leaving him six feet further into the water with scraped palms and his ration of adrenaline for the next decade depleted. “MOVE, NOW.” We pulled, he flopped, eventually got his feet under him, got knocked down twice, yelled “I can’t!” and got told to “Stand up, fuck you!” and eventually we got him above the water line, sans shoes, sans watch, sans machete, and sans swim trunks.

Fortunately for all our sanity, he had for some reason wore his boxers under his swim trunks, so we were saved from the sight of the sandy unmentionables of the guy we were all going to nominate dumbass of the year no matter what ELSE happened in 2012, up to and including the mayan apocalypse we’d all been informed about seventy times wasn’t an actual thing. We left him to the tender mercies of our professor, who had, in the last five minutes, finally finished going entirely grey and who we knew could swear in three languages. We no longer felt like building sand castles and, to quote my only non-lifeguard group member, we’d probably sanded all the sunscreen off anyway. The last thing we heard as we headed for the changing rooms to get sand out of our crevices and enter the comfort of clothes untouched by the ocean, was our professor shouting: “WHAT THE FUCK DO YOU MEAN YOU NEVER LEARNED HOW TO SWIM?”

Summary: You find out Shinsou is a streamer! You play video games and other things come out of it.

You sat at your desk, boredom setting in. No one ever really came in during your shift, so you always sat and watched the cats or even played with them. You checked the time to see how much longer you needed until your shift ended. Dang it, another 2 hours. There weren’t many people who worked at the cat cafe so you were stuck with a pretty sizable shift but you always had enough time to complete homework.

After your shift ended, you hurried home, which was only a block away. Your apartment was fairly small but it was homey and that’s how you like it. You opened the door and strode in, immediately going for the couch. You saved Hitoshi’s number into your phone earlier so you could message him when your shift ended. And you did just that. You set your phone aside and went to get a snack, which was always a pocky pack.

Along with it, you poured a cup of milk. You sat on the couch and placed the items on the table at the end of the couch. You opened a pocky pack and took one out, eating it while taking sips of milk. Your phone buzzed and it was Hitoshi.

You smile, picking up a pocky and eating it before taking everything into your bedroom and placing it all on your desk which you used for studying and gaming. You set all your gaming things up and signed into your Xbox. You typed ‘ShinsouPlays’ into the player search and added him as a friend, then clicking the drop menu labeled ‘join’ and joined his party. You have a professional gaming microphone and some headphones so it’s a pretty nice setup for gaming and streaming. “Hey Shinsou!” You say in a joyful tone, and you can hear a small laugh from the other man. “Just say Hitoshi, please.” You make a small noise to indicate you hear him. “I will, Hitoshi. Anyway, are we gonna do a heist or just mess with people?” You ask, hopeful you can mess around with people.

You had just bought two Megalodon cards which were pretty expensive, but it gave you 16,000,000 GTA dollars, and you could buy some great vehicles and mod them for trolling pretty easily. You had some really good trolling expertise and that was partly why you actually had views on your streams. You’re known for the spontaneous events that happen. Like you’ll mean to do one thing but get caught up in something and be forced to do another. You honestly were the type of person to pester other people going about their business. “We’re gonna mess with people. I’ve watched a few of your YouTube videos too so I know how much you like trolling.” You had a YouTube channel for it, too, and it was also well off with about 2 million subscribers. If you’re intending on reposting it to a different site or your own account, I am going to put a hard stop on that and direct you to the place on my pages where I am practically begging ON EVERY POST that people not do this very thing.

If you’re simply saving it for offline viewing and have no intention of posting the comic elsewhere then that’s fine and dandy. You do you, have a good day and I appreciate you respecting my artistic property and boundaries.

As for the other site you mentioned, I assume you’re speaking of my Patreon.

To clarify any confusion, I post a page ahead of my Tumblr on there as a perk of my patrons for supporting my work! It is not a glitch or an error at all but an intentional set up on my part! It’d only cost $1 USD to join and you can stop whenever you want to avoid the reoccurring payments on such a thing. If you are not willing to pay the $1 USD fee that’s A-oKAY! Buuuuuuut, you will simply have to wait until it is posted.

The comic incomplete in its storyline because it is ongoing and far from finished, so as stated before, you’ll just have to wait. I started working on this mid-October so it's not even half a year old at this point.

This comic is nearing 50 pages, and I fully expect that by the end of chapter 2 it will be there. What some folks don’t understand is that I am a professional and working to make a living off of doing this kind of work. This comic is a for-fun project of mine to work on my page production and practice my craft. I am highlighting the term ‘for fun.’

I have charged $200 a page before in prior jobs.

That is for the sketch, the lineart, and the coloring.

Asking a $1 for folks to view pages before they’re public isn’t even a significant fraction of what I’d be making on an actual job.

Now...I’m gonna be a bit frank here, and if I’m misinterpreting your comment I do sincerely apologize for my harsh tone but as it reads currently it does sound a bit... I don’t have a better word aside from entitled. I get a lot of messages and deal with frequent thefts that are people feeling they have a right to my work because it is online, or that I am required to continue to make the content for them for free. I’d be lying if I said it hasn’t started to wear on me or become legitimately upsetting that folks treat me and my content like that. I’ve had people genuinely upset with me for having a Patreon for my art and having the audacity to post a page ahead of the public rather than just providing it to them outright and doing the horrific thing of making them wait.

So, I admit, my feathers are somewhat fluffed here by this ask but it is far from only you that I am bringing this up about. So please don’t think this is all on you or this singular question.I am glad you like my comic and I’m glad you’re eager for more, but if you’re not willing to support me while I create this comic then you will simply have to wait like everyone else for the content.

🍔 Review № 460 ━ 📍 Gastrotek Zink ★★☆☆☆ • Gastrotek Zink opened at the end of 2019 on Grev Turegatan in central Stockholm, and are a bit of a spiritual successor to the now defunct Zink Grill. Seeing as they focus on high quality ingredients and age their own meat, we were filled with hope. Would we finally find a great restaurant burger in Sweden, that perhaps could compete with the legendary Minetta Tavern? • The burger cost 225 SEK (27 USD) and came served with French fries and a dip. It took quite a long time for it to be served, but it finally arrived on a stylish metal tray. It had been carefully assembled, but the wooden skewer and the olive oil drenched lettuce leaves put up two immediate warning signs. • The 200-gram patty was without a doubt the highlight of our meal, with a deeply smoky and satisfyingly beefy flavours. It was super juicy and excellently prepared with an almost perfectly pink centre. But apart from the tasty patty we couldn't find much else that we liked. The main problem was that the burger was seeping with olive oil from the lettuce, which just about ruined our meal. The shredded jalapeños added some nice heat, but they were far too cold and oily to work with the other ingredients. The bun was also burnt along the rim and felt a bit too hard for our liking. We did however like the French fries, which were crispy and had a nice potato flavour. • It's clearly not enough to just have fine ingredients; you also need to know how to make a great burger. We had similar qualms when we reviewed Zink Grill back in 2016, and it feels a bit sad that they haven't made any improvements in half a decade. Is Puerto Vallarta Safe?

Puerto Vallarta is located on the West side of Mexico and is lined by the Sierra Madre Mountains & a lush jungle coastline. Puerto Vallarta is known for its warm tropical weather, inexpensive cost of living and traditional Mexican culture. During whale season (November to March), you are guaranteed to see whales every day in the Bay of Banderas, and sting rays and dolphins year around.

So, is Puerto Vallarta safe for solo female travelers?

The answer is - YES!

As a solo traveler myself I have lived in Puerto Vallarta for almost 4 years now and have never run into any situations that I felt were dangerous or unsafe.

Is there a lot of theft or violence in Puerto Vallarta?

There is not a lot of theft, danger or violence in the tourist areas of Puerto Vallarta and any of the surrounding cities, but like with any place you choose to travel to it is smart not to wear a lot of flashy jewelry and keep a small amount of cash on your body.

The key here is: don’t come to a third world country and flash your first world luxuries and you should be just fine.

Puerto Vallarta is very safe and violent crime does not exist in here.

What is public transportation like in Puerto Vallarta?

Taxi’s, Uber, the bus and now INDriver are all available to you in PV and are all equally safe. Taxi’s are the most expensive option while the bus is still only $10 pesos (.50$ USD). Uber and INDriver are reasonably competitive.

The bus is currently the most used form of public transportation in Puerto Vallarta and personally my favorite! Can you drink a beer or a margarita on the bus in YOUR home country? Didn’t think so!

Is the ocean safe in Puerto Vallarta?

Tides, currents and jelly fish are all things to watch out for anytime you’re in the ocean, but there is no reason to be overly concerned.

In the Bay of Banderas, waters are calmer here than most other parts of Mexico because it’s crescent shape protects the beaches from currents out in the open ocean.

Sharks are not a concern in Puerto Vallarta which is one of the main reasons the humpback whales choose to breed here as well as bring their young calf’s to the warm tropical waters.

There are life guards on the beach at some beaches, but its good to pay attention to the flags on the beach:

Green Flag: Water conditions are safe for swimming.

Yellow Flag: Use caution while swimming.

Red Flag: Dangerous conditions.

Black Flag: The highest warning level. Do not swim.

Is it safe to eat the food in Puerto Vallarta?

Street food stands are located everywhere in Puerto Vallarta and are safe to eat at. Some of the best food in Mexico comes out of a little mom and pop street food stand because it is delicious and cheap.

Is it safe to drink the water in Puerto Vallarta?

That depends on where you are in the city and where you are staying. A lot of the major hotels have a filtration system and will inform their guests that the water is potable - ok for consumption.

Locals and visitors do not drink tap water in Puerto Vallarta, so we purchase a garrafon (5 gallon filtered water jug) 2-3 times per week from any OXXO or grocery store for around $35 pesos.

Is there crime in Puerto Vallarta?

Puerto Vallarta is safe, but that doesn’t mean you should always be letting your guard down. Crime still exists, but crime levels are low, especially compared with the rest of Mexico and significantly lower than the crime rates of major cities in the U.S. like Miami and Las Vegas.

Is there Cartel activity in Puerto Vallarta?

Puerto Vallarta has largely remained uninvolved in Cartel conflicts. Violent crime is rare, and in the few instances of violence that have occurred, the victims were expected to be involved with the cartel in some way.

Crimes that do occur are usually petty in nature, and mostly crimes of opportunity such as bag snatching, pick-pocketing or theft. But even these aren’t very common.

Mexico has this reputation…

Mexico has a reputation - mostly with Canadian and American travelers - that it is not a safe destination to travel to for people like retirees and solo female travers, but this couldn’t be further from the truth.

In 2018, AARP ranked Puerto Vallarta the #1 place to retire in based on safety and the cost of living against 100 other cities around the world.

10 Quick Solo Female Travel Tips for Puerto Vallarta

Double check the license plate of your Uber/InDriver.

Never leave drinks unattended.

Take your belongings to the bathroom with you.

Smile and acknowledge the people you pass, most of the time they just want to say hello.

If you need help, ask for it. Almost everyone is here to help you enjoy your time in Puerto Vallarta.

Don’t wear flashy jewelry.

Always be conscious opening your wallet in public.

Be aware of leaving your purse open and pick-pocketers.

Don’t carry too much cash. $200 USD per day is more than enough.

Avoid walking home at night if you don’t know the neighborhood.
