I have a bit of a loaded question, so the area I live in doesn't have many places that offer hrt or any help for transexuals trying to start the process of transition and places that do cost thousands, I've been living in poverty for years and cant afford health insurance and my dysphoria has gotten worse over the years so can I ask how you went about transitioning or some advice on things you did to ease dysphoria? even if it's just minor stuff that I can try for now

Don't worry about asking too much. And feel free to ask more clarification on anything I say below. This is gonna be a long post so buckle in.

How I did my medical transitioning process in the USA:

-While Ohio certainly isn't a super progressive state, we got the Cleveland clinic which has an entire LGBT center that has been super easy and simple for me to work with.

-I talked to my primary Dr about getting a referral to the LGBT center. All they needed was a therapist letter showing that I do in fact have gender dysphoria/medically transitioning is an important part of improving my quality of life.

-from there I had an appointment to discuss what I want (hrt, top/bottom surgery, freezing eggs, etc etc). You don't have to do everything. But they all involve different drs so they wanna know who to reach out to.

-I got on hrt pretty quickly but I had to save a lot before I got top surgery since insurance wouldn't help at all.

Tips for paying for medical transitioning shit:

-goodrx is a good site for finding cheaper meds while still going though legit channels. You just need a prescription and a goodrx coupon. They're good for almost every us pharmacy.

-DO NOT GO THROUGH OTHER CHANNELS.

-I repeat. Do not get your meds through anyone except a Dr office. It's very unsafe and the risks are not better than the rewards. I know it sucks not being able to medically transition. And me telling you it'll be ok won't make it any more easier for you in this present moment. But I promise, it will eventually be ok. You'll get there and one day you'll be able to get everything through legit means. I'm sorry you have to be patient. You shouldn't have to be.

-poverty definitely makes things harder. I had a supportive family that donated money and art commissions I did to help fund my top surgery over the course of a year. But I am not at poverty level. I definitely wouldn't of been able to do that in your situation. I wish I had good advice for that but I don't. I'm sorry.

-does your state, county, city, etc have any LGBT support groups?? Sometimes they will have resources to help with funding and shit.

-there are scholarships for trans people to help with stuff. Can't promise it's easy to get, but it's worth looking into.

-I have seen people use this one thing to grow facial hair?? I don't remember what it was and I don't know if there's side effects. It was like a thing you rub one and it's for cis men to help hair growth. I'm not endorsing it, but it might be worth looking at.

-if you're gonna do binding make sure you look up how to do it safely and you buy it from a safe site. I know that it can sometime get pricey with that but binding unsafely will cost you more in the long run.

General tips for transitioning/suggestions for dysphoria (focusing on trans men):

-there's other things besides medical stuff. You can look into legal name changes too. You do usually have to pay which sucks, but it can be a really nice step when you can't afford the more expensive medical shit.

-even if there are no lgbt support groups in your area, there are online resources you can find too.

-dress for your body type. What styles work for one person, might not work for someone else. You don't have money to throw around so trail and error is a lot harder. But you really have to try and find what works best for you. That can take time.

-I found vests helped my chest look smaller which was nice. Button down shirts with fun designs also do a good job at making chests look smaller. The designs should be non symmetrical. The idea being that the design will drive people's eyes all over and not focus on your chest. I also liked t-shirts with large designs that went across the entire front part of the shirt as they don't have text/designs that exist right there on your chest focusing everyone's eyes there 🙄🙄🙄.

-I have a round face so I found that hair styles that make my face look more rectangular to be extremely helpful. To find what hairstyle is best for you, the best bet is to do some research. Don't go too short though or it'll come off as more of a pixie cut than a male hairstyle.

-one of the worst things for me was my voice (and it still kinda is). I found singing along to songs with male singers help. Both deep and high voices ones. With the music up high so it's harder to hear myself.

-try and figure out what stuff makes it worse. I know some people find seeing their naked body to be terrible and showering/getting dressed in the dark can help with that. If you can determine what makes things worse, you can find small solutions to them.

-when it's really getting you down, remind yourself of things that are gender affirming that you have/can do instead of lingering on everything you can't do.

-there are sports bras designed to make you look smaller which can also be helpful.

-not so much something to help you pass. But I have a hat that makes me feel better when I'm down. If you have a comfort item using it can help a lot when dysphoria is a bitch.

-for my body type I found cargo pants that were loose around the shins to be very helpful in making my hips look smaller.

-not sure about your home life. But if you can, don't shave. I honestly tell this to cis women too just cuz shaving is so much work. But not shaving can be very gender affirming (more so because of the society we live in). If anyone asks you can just say you're too lazy to shave and that tends to satisfy people without them going "you're just doing it for social commentary" (<- which isn't a bad thing anyways 🤷‍♂️ why do people care so much about hairy legs and armpits???).

-again. Don't know your situation. But just having people call you "he" around you can help more than anything. Even if you don't pass, just the acknowledgement that they see who you are will go a long way.

-remind yourself that it's ok that you don't pass. You're still a man.

-I had a really bad spiral of depression from dysphoria before. And I won't say I managed it perfectly. But just trying to get yourself to not care as much about what others think can help.

-this might sound counter productive. But don't slouch to hide your chest. I found that walking with my back straight with that "confident" strut helped make me feel a lot more comfortable about my body.

-if you have someone to talk to, talk to them. Telling someone about how your feeling won't solve the problem but it will make it easier for you to get the emotions out and think more clearly. I can't tell you how much easier it was to think of solution, and how much better I felt in general, by opening up to a supportive person.

-I always found hats to be gender affirming. There is no reason for this as it does not matter what kind of hat.

-we live in a covid world. Get yourself a mask that is "masculine." I say it like that cuz that's full bullshit and cloth has nothing to do with gender. But when I wear a cute cat cloth mask vs usually a black/gray mask I found I got gendered very differently. It's stupid but you might as well use gender stereotypes to your favor.

-don't avoid bright colors cuz you think they're feminine. It's a lot more about style and design than color for clothes.

-remind yourself that you don't need to pass. It's not the end all be all. You're no less trans. And you're still you no matter what people see you as.

-there are voice exercises to make your voice lower. I don't have recommendations but I know they're out there.

-get some boxers. You can't wear them on your period unless you do tampons or get period underwear that's boxer designed. But a majority of the time you can still wear them. And you'll find you get a lot less wedgies which is nice.

-get gendered shirts. Stuff like "world okay-ist brother." Even if you don't pass you can just tell people it's a gag shirt. And it's really nice to wear for yourself.

-People watch. I cannot stress this enough. People watch. Look at men. Look at how many are actually short, have wide hips, have baby faces, have high voices, have long hair, have soft eyes, have long eyelashes, have curves, have less hair on their arms. Look at how they sit, how many also cross their legs, how many also curl up in balls, how many also get flustered and cute, how many say aww at cute cat videos. Really look at them. Because there are so many cis men around you that have a lot in common with you. We've just been taught that these things are feminine or masculine when they aren't and dysphoria makes us exaggerate these differences even more. But they're natural on bodies of all genders. Actions/thoughts that we all share. And it's ok that you have those features. Look at the men around you and see how much you have in common. You aren't that different.

-lastly again. Remind yourself it's ok to not pass. Dysphoria will get worse and it will get better. You'll get over this wave of dysphoria. You'll find a way to manage. And one day you will realize you're thriving in ways you never thought you could. Its hard and I'm sorry it has to be hard. But you aren't alone. And you are already enough of a man as you are now. Even if you don't feel like it yet.

Sorry for the blurry one lol, only noticed after I got home.

This is our premium fence gate for the chickens. The gate itself was dug out of the trash, the screws and the wood were found somewhere in the garden and we just used them.

The wire fence and the wooden poles were bought from a hardware store, we painted the wood last fall but will repaint this spring so that it'll last as long as possible.

Since the fence and gate were build by us, there was next to no planning involved, we just went for it. Aside from the gate being tilted and the wire fence not being properly tensioned in places, it went quite well! Aka it does its job and is surprisingly stable, given that it just survived the entirety of eunice without getting a scratch.

We're still debating whether to modify the wagon (green structure in the corner) and have the chicks in there, or if we'll buy a shed and modify it for the chickens.

(Seriously, never buy premade chicken coops. Theyre incredibly expensive and so so tiny, if theres ever an event where you have to keep them inside, for example because of bird flu, they'll be glad to have some space to move around.

Just buy some kind of shed, put a chicken hatch, some wooden poles/sticks for roosting and some nests for the eggs and youre all gucci.)

In any case, the chickens are coming, and when they're here, we'll be prepared. I cant wait for the chicks to be stumbling and peeping about, so excited! My boyfriend is cute as fuck every time he talks about them, his eyes light up and he grabs me and we hug and ahhhhh we're alive! Life is worth living! I failed my math exam and I might fail chemistry and maybe I wont finish university but who gives a shit! Maybe I will!

I have friends and family, I have a drive and a passion and I'll be okay and you will be okay too, I promise! Maybe not today or tomorrow, but eventually it'll fall into place, and there will always be hard days and hard times but it doesnt matter because in the end there will always be chickens to hatch and vegetables to tend to and sunsets to watch and people to love and laugh with and we are all here! On this earth! Right now and never again!

And yeah the world could be going to shit, we're killing our planet and shit but do not let it destroy your spirit. Do what you can, do whatever you have the energy for, but other than that just live! I promise you, its fine, you're allowed to feel good and nice and also shitty and sad and if you need to talk my dms are always open, seriously, Im just some dude with a garden, you can talk to me about whatever and I will listen because right now I have the energy and I'm willing to give you some of it.

Breathe. You're alive. We're all alive. Listen to G.O.A.T. by Polyphia and feel the harmonies come together in your mind. Taste the wind outside. Stand in the rain and dont worry about getting wet. Get yourself a plant, and maybe you'll kill it, who cares, get a new one! Or just get a packet of seeds and grow some yourself on your windowsill, and when they're dead you can just plant new ones.

Talk to a friend! Dont have friends? Comment on peoples posts, engage in some communities, there are people out there who you can love and who love you back! You have a computer? Play some kind of online multiplayer, doesnt matter if its a shooter or whatever. Guess what, most gamers are just some dudes! Ive only met very few bigots, and hundreds of people who are just nice! (I recommend Planetside 2, the playerbase is a little older than in most shooters, think mid twenties and up to 40s or 50s, I even know one guy who's over 60. If you do decide to try it out and play on Cobalt, please message me with your name so I can add you and help you out! And if not, pretty much everyone there is willing to guide newbies along, and they'll stay friends with you as you progress, thats what it was like for me and everyone Ive met on there.)

What Im trying to say is: communities exist everywhere! Just engage with them! Shitty self esteem? Guess what, me too! It took me two whole years until I started talking to these people, and they were nothing but nice to me from the start.

I swear, every time I think we're done with the bullshit something else crops up and this weekend was a fucking doozy. Honestly. I am just so over people and humanity at the moment and I just. I don't know how to figure my way out of this one, honestly. But anyway.

At the wedding, Dave's dad pulled some absolute BS and was like, hey guys, don't do anything about the house because I wanna talk to you about it, to which I was like, cool, it's our wedding, not talking about this right now, peace out homie.

A couple of weeks ago, he brought it up on the phone like, guys, don't do any construction until we've had a chance to talk about it I've got some ideas I wanna chat to you about. I was like, cool, well we're all on the phone, let's fucking chat then and he got really awkward and was like, no no, it needs to be in person. I was like, why, do you have floor plan changes or whatever? to which he was like, We'll talk in person when we've all had a few drinks and it'll be good. So that sets off alarm bells automatically, like what the f are you on mate, so we basically were like well, come down this weekend so we can get this over and done with and we can move on with our lives please, given that everything is on a timeline crunch with work and maternity leave and house renos and buying a puppy and all sorts of things. So they got here on friday, and I tried to bring it up, and he just completely blanked me when I asked and changed the subject which is next level bitchy on its own. Whatever. there's still saturday night anyway.

Had a reasonably good day with dave's parents, all things considered. If you treat them like toddlers and give them two choices they don't behave too badly. this is breakfast, do you want scrambled eggs on toast or pancakes? We can go to the zoo or to staglands, which do you want? Which of these two cafes do you want for lunch? Now we're going home for nap time or to read a book but it's two hours of chill either way do what you like.

And then. and then we got to dinner and when he finally started talking to us, and his fucking wife is just making stupid laughy faces at me, I swear to god if I didn't love dave I would have walked out and left them there and dumped all their shit on the back doorstep and bolted them out of the house.

Because it's not that he has ideas about the renovations, its that he doesn't want us living in this (perfectly reasonable and safe) neighbourhood, he wants us to move to somewhere 'nicer' aka whiter more expensive and fancier and that we'll only get money from them if we move, not if we renovate where we currently live. This is after 20 minutes of pointless BS like, you don't want to overcapitalise where you live, you don't want to invest a whole bunch of money and then not have a good sale price, your driveway is too narrow for people with big cars (because he has a stupidly big holden adn cant reverse for shit, if courier vans can hoon our driveway at 30kms an hour, and I can reverse a fkn hilux surf down the driveway you know it's fine)

and then like, have you considered school zones and what banks might lend you and how much you might have to spend on renos etc etc etc

And this whole time he's being an absolute fucking dick, and I'm sitting there getting more and more enraged, and my poor fucking husband is just, I could just watch him curling further and further in on himself and I wanted to cry. this is the absolute fucking shit he has put up with his entire life. You only get love and support from us if you do what we want. We'll only help you if its something we approve of. Unless you do exactly what we want, you get nothing. And its so fucking unfair. It's so shitty.

And dave was so excited to get a patio out the back and get outdoor dining and all these things and now he's like, well maybe I won't because it might not be worth it.

I'm just so fucking mad, and I'm so sad for dave. Fuck his parents for shitting all over this. Our house is not a business transaction. This is the home we want to build for our family. this is how we want to raise our kids. We don't want and won't afford a fucking $1.2M house which si still going to need fucking renovations. And what if the housing market does crash? You're worried about fucking overcapitalisation with renovations for christ's sake? Go to fucking hell.

I'm so fucking mad at them. So fucking mad.

I went out for a walk this morning because I actually couldn't face them and they had another go at Dave while I was out. It's so fucking shit. I'm sorry. We're a fucking team, we make decisions together, fuck you both on so many levels.

Transitioning to Veganism

In January 2019 I decided to take part in veganuary with the intention of being fully vegan afterward (bar what was already in my cupboard and needed eating up). It wasn’t a sudden decision, in fact, it had been a gradual choice that I had been considering for months at this point. I had been vegetarian since July 2017 and had been gradually decreasing my intake of animal products so that by the end of 2018 my diet was 80-90% plant based already. I had been avoiding dairy for the most part anyway as it causes my skin to break out badly and cheese was an expensive luxury on a furgal university budget. The only thing that really let me down in that aspect was when I ate out or by not checking labels.

Like most people I had watched the world-famous Netflix document ‘What the Health’ in the spring of 2017 and that was probably one of the first major catalyst that lead to me analysing and changing my diet. I had grown up on a small, rural island off the mainland of England, one of its main agricultures being farming. Every-day I would see cows and sheep grazing in fields both outside my bedroom window and on the way to school, I saw these animals had a good quality of life (in a way that they do not always in larger areas of Britain and the US), and like many people, never really questioned the connection between that and my dinner plate.

I was also notoriously fussy, and although I liked most varieties of meat, the same could not be said of vegetables. In fact I hated every single one until I was 16 and then I could just about stomach carrots. A healthy diet I did not have, despite how much my parents tried to push otherwise. Going vegetarian was simply not a viable option for me back then; but on joining university I started to cook for myself and my taste matured, leading me to today, where I now love 99% of veg (broccoli is legitimately my favourite food) and it makes up the bulk of my diet.

It meant, that when I watched the documentary I was able to genuinely consider becoming vegetarian, and started to slowly phase meat out of my diet. Even then, I knew that ultimately I did want to become vegan, after seeing the impact the meat and dairy industry has on our health*, the environment and on the animals who are subjected to it. But I wanted to do it the right way and for the long-term. If I cut out everything at once I knew after a week or two I would revert back to my usual diet, my body craving things that had always been present. I also wanted to be educated about things I substituted meat for; I go to the gym regularly and I wanted to know that what I was eating would have a good variety of nutrients. And most importantly, I didn’t want my mental health to suffer.

Like most young women growing up in this century I have had issues with food and my body. Although I have never received any formal help or diagnosis I definitely had an unhealthy relationship with food, especially in my mid-teens, though even now some days are harder than others. For the most part I am a lot better, but I was wary that if I suddenly cut out a lot of different foods and placed a lot of restrictive rules on my diet that I would be taking a huge step backwards, that I would go back to obsessing over every little thing that I eat. I didn’t want to sacrifice my health and knew that if I was to do this safely, then gradually converting my diet was the only answer.

And that is what I did. First it was dairy milk, an easy swap as there are so many alternatives on the market. I mainly go for soya at home because it’s the cheapest and I really don’t need anything fancy in my bowl of porridge, but oat is by far my favourite and go-to when I’ve gone out for a coffee.

Eggs was one of the biggest changes. In my second year of uni I had eggs for breakfast nearly everyday that I wasn’t on placement, and I genuinely didn’t see myself as able to give them up. But in third year I found a love of porridge and overnight oats, or tofu scramble if I fancied something closer to what I usually had eaten. And eventually I was only having eggs when eating out, there is nothing nicer than an eggs benedict (and if anyone can link me to a good vegan recipe for it, I will love them forever).

Like I previously mentioned, cheese wasn’t a large part of my diet, because as a university student it just wasn’t worth budgeting for. I’ve never had a problem with any of the vegan alternatives I’ve tried, though this may be because I ate cheese so rarely that I couldn’t really directly compare the two.

Chocolate, the crux for many people, was a big one. “But how do you live without chocolate?” I’m normally asked by my horrified coworkers, and the answer is that I don’t. In fact, I probably have it in some form everyday, it just took a bit of getting used to looking for the vegan friendly alternatives in tescos. But there are plenty, and even some of the major brands are accidently vegan (looking at you bourbons).

Eventually it just left occasions where I was eating out (laziness would sometimes lead to me choosing the vegetarian option, and other times it was simply because that was what I wanted to eat), and items where I had not checked the label for hidden ingredients. Milk powder is in bloody everything, and if it’s not that, it’s normally eggs. Quorn in particular is well-known for this, though their vegan range is steadily growing.

By December 2018 I felt ready to take on Veganuary. I no longer felt like my diet, or lifestyle would be negatively impacted by it and I saw it as a great chance to draw a line under the sand. When speaking to my dad on the phone two weeks in he asked if I was struggling yet. And honestly? I hadn’t even noticed, as there had been so few occasions where I would have chosen the non-vegan option anyway. To me it just made sense that after January I continued to eat plant based, and now, at the end of February I haven’t regretted it once. I am a giant advocator of eating a vegan diet. I feel so much healthier than when I ate meat, am more active than ever and can’t remember the last time I fell ill. I do understand it’s not possible for everyone, people who have had or have eating disorders may definitely struggle, and placing a load of rules on what they can and can’t eat wouldn’t be beneficial to their mental health in the slightest (just as it wouldn’t have been for me once upon a time).

I also understand that if you’re not educated about nutrition and the aspects of a healthy diet, then becoming vegetarian/vegan doesn’t automatically mean you’ll be any healthier, especially with the wide range of plant based foods and meals now out in supermarkets (I’m not berating any of these releases in the slightest, it’s amazing to see so many options and makes it a lot more accessible than it once was, it just means navigating for a healthy option isn’t always the easiest thing). Being vegan is still a privilege, I only have to support myself on my wage and it leaves plenty of room to opt for the more expensive meat alternatives and keep my diet balanced. A single parent with two kids however doesn’t have this option, and places like Lidl and Aldi are brilliant for selling a large quantity of meat for a relatively low price.

But reducing your meat and animal product intake is good for the planet, and I do think that every little thing, whether that be partaking in Meatless Monday or swapping dairy milk for soya helps. No-one has to be perfect or commit to the most severe of changes, especially if they feel it is what they should do because Instagram told them to, but making a substitution here and there helps massively.

*I am not saying that meat and dairy cannot make up a healthy diet, though like anything in large quantities it isn’t beneficial. There is also plenty of evidence against cows milk and how we digest it. In early 2019 the Eat-Lancet commission (linked below) was published, outlining global targets for the world population to achieve a healthy, nutritionally balanced diet whilst keeping food production sustainable. The diet consists mainly of fruit, vegetables, grains and legumes, with a small amount of meat and fish. It is fairly similar to the Mediterranean diet, and emphasises that you don’t need to cut all animal products out, but reducing them would be highly beneficial on a number of levels!

I'm an "essential employee" and since I have to go out anyway, I shop for several at risk people who shouldn't go out even to the store if they can help it...

I dont judge the shopping lists I am given, but not all the items they ask for are available, and wont be consistently for the coming days. It got me thinking about things our grandparents knew, and that 3/4 of the world knows, and that Americans who are used to being able to live and shop like stereotypical Americans probably ought to learn...

Dry Beans ,white rice and salt pork. (Protein,complex carbs, fat)

50 dollars worth of these items combined will feed a family of 4 for 30 days, and they are all shelf stable. A slow cooker pot and a rice cooker pot are like having a personal chef working when the power is on, but these items can be cooked under camping conditions if neccesary.

Diabetics like me can usually eat more beans and less rice and live off these staples if they are carefull. It wont replace a green leafy salad, but it is light years ahead a frozen pizza on the glycemic index.

Add 10 dollars worth of raisins, sugar, and evaporated milk and you have deserts lined up for the same time frame.

Quick oats have the same prep time as instant oatmeal (I got a 25 pound bag for 12.95) and it makes a decent breakfast cereal when mixed with leftover rice and rasins....

Flour can be purchased in 50 pound bags for as little as 20 dollars.

Baking soda has a long shelf life. Baking powder does not. Cream of tartar has a long shelf life. Combine baking soda and cream of tartar and you have baking powder...

Old pancake mix and old self rising flour or bisquick (if there are no bugs) is pretty.much just "flour"....the added baking powder has lost its mojo, but the flour is still nutrient dense. Eggs can be hardboiled at three weeks to extend their shelf life. Unflavored gelatin can be substituted for eggs in most baking recipes..

Bay leaves, when added to airtight containers, will keep bugs out of stored flours, grains, rice and sugars, even if the source of those bugs is the eggs that are already inside the uncooked grains...

MREs are nice for living in the field. They also will constipate you for 3 days at a time and are very expensive. Hormel complete meals are packaged self stable and cost less than two dollars. Add a pop top can of green beans and a can of peaches and you have a 4 dollar meal. Have a plan to cook or warm your food without power. (The virus wont cause power outages, but trees blowing down in spring storms is a common reason for power interruptions around here) canned goods can be opened and warmed on the engine of a car, while you are starting it to maintain the battery and charging your phone. If you still have hot running water even during a power interruption.

If your local stores cant keep beans, rice, and flour on the shelf, there are several restaurant and bulk food companies online who will appreciate business from individuals. Amazon was pretty fast with the crock pots, bay leaves, and rice cookers I had sent to some of the people I'm looking out for.

Whether we are trying to make a thirty day pantry, just live within our means, or find a way to make our dollars stretch so we can feed our own kids and someone else who is out of work right now...these are things worth knowing and possibly worth implementing in some form.

Its time for my boyfriend to renew his insurance at work, so i was looking threw the booklet they sent him, and i cant believe it cost so much to add a spouse to your plan.. i thought if anything maybe it would double, but in most cases it triples! like one option is $17 per pay period for just him, but if you add a spouse it goes up to $62 and one is $25 for just him, and $92 if he adds a spouse, why is it so much? it would be cheaper if the spouse got there own plan, so whats the point? i would think there would be a discount of some sort for more than one person but its actually the opposite? why is this?

Hi there. I have a question. I want to SUE my Car insurance company because they refuse to pay for my stolen car which is been more then 6 months and still hasn't been recovered. At the time i asked for insurance my driver license was suspended already suspended and the reason why was because of child support for which i was going thru courts with my ex. First i decided to insure my car liability and my car was paid in full. On the liability contract it wasn't any question regarding my driver license either was suspended or not. After a week or so i thought to myself that if i get in a accident god forbid and it was my fault i have to may myself for damages and you know for such a car would be very expensive so i asked my broker if i can changed it to full coverage and so they did. on the day i did the change the girl that worked for my broker and assisting me asked me Klodian you are aware your license is suspended. I said yes and i explained the reason y. So she found this insurance company for a low price and she emailed me the contract to sign and fax it to her. now under the questions which i saw of course latter after i was denied claim i saw they were marked all NO and that was done on computer not hand writing. which of course in this case was done by the girl that helped me. Now my broker told me that insurance company should had run your driving record before they issue insurance to you and if they done that they were gone see your driver lisence was suspended. But when my broker asked them why they didnt run it Their answer was that they trusted me based on the contract i signed which to my opinion is BS. My daughter broke her arm. She is insured with my husband's insurance. Today I bumped a parked car when trying to pull out of a paralell parking spot. Both cars were scratched, but no dents. My car was in worse shape than hers, and I took mine to an auto body shop to get a quote on what it would cost to repair the scratch. The quote I got was $671.23. The lady (who was sitting in her car when I bumped her) said she was going to have to have the whole bumper replaced... even though it was just a scratch about 3 inches long. These 2 bike cops came immediately after me... So long story short, it was my first time being pulled over, I took the seatbelts off, and I ran the red light because there was a guy pulling into a parking stop right in front of me and I was too worried looking around afraid I was going to hit a jaywalking tourists.
