I have been very distant on this blog. It's not cuz I don't wanna post, theres just been irl stress and worries, Artfights taken up a lot of time and also money stresses as per usual with that life stuff. But I also have been sick.

I know I don't really need to explain why. But I do like this blog a lot and the support people give me. Recently, most likely due to circumstance, I have been feeling very depressed. Lonely and excluded from circles. A part of me is happy that my friends are doing well, but it's also kinda sad that they don't care much about me, or my life.

I suppose my life is pretty boring so I can't blame people. It just is a very ....eh...low thing to feel?

Almost feels childish to talk about it online. But yanno, figured I'd say something rather than stay silent for longer with no posts. People here are nice supportive, so I figured.

Will most likely get over this hump. But shit like this takes time, as it has done for a while. Getting into this shitty mental funk has to be conquered. Just sucks while your there.

so yeah. i don't know how the hell my follower count has doubled in like, two months. maybe it's the Fake Peppino Hugs? a lot of people have been wanting hugs after all. it uhhhh kinda makes me feel weird knowing there's this many of you. but i'll try to manage.

speaking of hugs, yes i've seen the new asks and requests in my inbox i promise!! i will get to them when i can, but for now i'm gonna try to focus on getting a couple other big important things done. mainly, a large Fake Peppino headcanon-related post i've been planning, and getting a few more characters up on Artfight before July.

and also.... i might be getting commissions up soon too?? i don't know how soon, but it'd be a way for me to get income right now since i don't have a job. or, if you don't wanna commission me but still wanna show support, i have a link to me Ko-Fi on my intro post as well! really any support is welcome, but i'm trying to figure out how to do commissions and pricing and stuff since it'll be the first time i *officially* do them. i hope you'll think about it though!!

but yeah, i've got a good few things i've gotta get done with, i'm trying to take things a liiiiittle slow right now though so i don't burn myself out fully. i will try to get stuff done soon though! expect that big Fakey post in maybe a week or so, and i'll update you all on other things that happen as well!

2022 Art Summary

it is that time of the year again, folks. this year has felt like forever and so short simultaneously. it’s felt like nothing and everything was happening. it was a weird year for me, probably because for the most part it was rather monotonous. but there were some good things to look back on, and as per usual i’m here to round it up here for you all to look at and enjoy :3

i’ll be honest. i was really worried about the art summary this year at first because these first few months were so sparse. i even considered just condensing the whole thing into quarters since this one was so lacking. but as the year went on, the more things i had to share, so for sake of brevity i will be putting the first three months up all at once

included in this quarter are assorted Cosmic Legacy character sketches, a Genshin Impact sona to continue the trend i had wanted to set at the end of 2021 (which i did not continue afterward), a lil valentine’s day present to my girlfriend, and a shiny form for my sona that was just part of a inside bandwagon. not much to say otherwise :/

the one major thing that happened in the first few months of 2022 was that i FINALLY. GOT MY HANDS. ON A NINTENDO SWITCH. I CAN NO LONGER MEME ABOUT BEING SWITCHLESS

so that was pretty exciting :>

the release of Pokemon Legends: Arceus is what broke me, but before i played that i started off with a blind nuzlocke of Pokemon Shield, which is what the lil digital doodle in March is about; i had just caught a Stunky i named Wasabi and i was indifferent to Stunky up until catching him where i just fell in love with it

so, AI art, huh? this was when it was burgeoning, and still fun and popular to make. so when i saw some people using a 3d pokemon generator i made a whole bunch and gave it a go. i generated about 30 of them and hadn’t quite gotten to around a third of that, but the few i did were really fun to draw!

(the lil gremlin one at the top corner is uncolored here bc when i did try to color it my brain fully glitched and screwed up royally so i opted out of showing my failure here lol)

so my friend Cake started streaming a game called Your Turn to Die with me and our partner Stacey during the spring starting in late March, and it was such an incredible time that i miss being a part of (if you wanna watch our full playthrough, the vods are saved on her channel here)

so towards the end of our playthrough i decided to try my hand at drawing some stuff because my brain could not simply hold all of my feelings for them

i am definitely not biased because i played both Keiji and Rio Ranger in the stream, but i sure did like them a lot, and it was really fun to draw them :>

had a lot of cosmic drawings this month, most likely due to celebrating the One Year Anniversary of the concept at the beginning of the month! we celebrated with a cute little collab. i happened to continue the cosmic train on my end by coming up with a funny meme video idea (that we will get back to multiple times later on) and i also worked on a couple pieces in preparation for an upcoming event in the next month...

I FINALLY REMEMBERED TO SIGN UP AND PARTICIPATE IN ARTFIGHT FOR THE FIRST TIME

it was a really fun event but i did not anticipate how late i would start my entries and how much time it would take to do them well, so i only got a few out, but i’m really proud of them! it was awesome to see all these brain children of random people from all around, and to get a couple responses back of my own as well! i’m excited to give it another go next year :3

i did not get a whole lot of art things done this month because MY GIRLFRIEND (and her roommate) CAME FROM OVERSEAS TO VISIT!!

it was such a great time being with them, and we had so much going on i didn’t get much opportunity to do much, but that was fine. one thing, related to my partner actually, is my pokemon gym trainer sona here! Stacey had been thinking about a fakemon region and wanted her friends as gym leaders, so i offered myself as a ground-type trainer, since it’s one of my favorite types and is rather underrated

a little more work got done on the cosmic meme video, and a couple other lil doodles. not much else artwise, but an awesome month regardless :3

idk why this month was so lacking, cuz this is pretty much all i had lol

the one decent sketch of my sona being angy was inspired by a post i found on here that was like... if you were a villain in a movie, what song would be playing at the point you would snap

and the choice i made was Faint by Linkin Park cuz it seemed applicable. and then my brain decided to listen to it on repeat and i ended up drawing that sketch. so that was cool :0

as per usual i do at least attempt to do an october art challenge, and this time i wanted to try this year’s annual list from Thomas Sanders, and it was pretty fun! i was really into it the first week, but then i got behind and after that point many of the prompts didn’t hold my attention, so... i trailed off. again

but! i do really like these ones in particular. didn’t really have much else after that so i’m glad i had fun with those

again this is p much all i had - november was a pretty nice time actually, with lots of gaming stuff going on with me n friends, but not so much art stuff was going on then

after having completed playing pkmn shield back in june, i tried my hand at pkmn legends pretty much right after that... and it didn’t quite click with me, though i did really like it. and then over the next few months i got back into pkmn go and that’s when i realized That’s more like what legends is about - it just screwed me up coming from a regular pkmn game. so, this month, i picked it up again and i’ve gotten much farther and much more attached!

in addition, later in the month my friends and i got back into playing stardew valley after nearly a year’s hiatus, and we made our characters based on the main trio in Cosmic Legacy, and so i drew Lalun with a parsnip. it was funny

and speaking of cosmic and video game things, Sonic Frontiers came out and i... did not get that one (though i will one day cuz it looks rad) BUT one of my friends got super into it and got me hooked on one of the songs, and then the part of my brain that associates fandom stuff with songs (a rarely triggered part of my brain) started to tie that to [REDACTED] here, as inspiration for their character. maybe. idk but the song gave me vibes that they could definitely have and i thought it was cool and i made a cool art with it too so yay

and here we are, at the end of the year! the sonic hype train was still rolling so i thought about giving them another go and they turned out pretty good! and i pumped out some more pokemon content at the very end to inflate this month’s art stuff a lil bit more

all in all it’s been. a year, to say the least. i am definitely looking forward to new things in the new year, but this one had been pretty alright. lots of fun and memorable things that hopefully i can continue doing similarly in the future :3

I just remembered that. damn.. anyway i finished the prologue or at least i'm happy w what i have for it for now &i have enough substance for the first chapter (which is the only reason im considering sharing it now) and i SORTA want to publish it & get it known already but i also kinda want to wait until maybe august or something cus it'll probably get immediately bogged down by my artfight posts since im cranking those things out like hotcakes. Then again it's not like i'd..post it on my art blog..but maybe...?? I dont really know what im gonna do w it it's not A drawing nor does it have anything to do w Drawing really so it's not much of a contender for my art blog. and i don't want to put it on my website and leave it to collect dust i dont like doing that bc the update previews scare me. mfw demand avoidance (theres mental gymnastics here I also don't usually like my work being front and center right in your eyeballs especially not my writing). but i also don't want to put it on some random fanfic website (most likely ao3) because i don't thikn anyone would really see it much less Guy me and like 10 other ppl care about x My oc that people are even less likely to care about and also i rewrote the entire story type stuff. i dunno. ill probably wait until tomorrow or something to figure it out but i wanna get this thing into the public at SOME point

Last new year's eve, I made a resolution that I would learn to draw by drawing one page every day of 2023. I was meant to post this recap on January 1st, but it turns out that I have like a full thesis worth of infodumping about this project, so it got pushed back. Art dump time! <3

(editor witch here. This post is LONG. Like, tumblr-can't-save-the-draft-properly long. I've decided to split this into multiple parts to mitigate formatting issues and pulling my hair out when it inevitably comes out wrong. This is part 1 of 2)

First off we have the OG, the Day 1.

I try not to pass judgement on my earlier works, because getting more confident with drawing was the entire point of the resolution. However, I can definitely say I've improved a whole bunch since then. It's basically just copied from reference material and the proportions could use a little work.

Fast forward to Day 11 where I had the first piece I thought was kinda good.

Still goes pretty hard tbh. Love a good beholder.

The first piece I ever got a compliment on was this goopy texture text stuff.

Unfortunately since all the early drawings were done in pencil, a lot of them have been ravaged by the unholy nature of graphite smearing.

Day 49 is another one of my favourites, I'd just won big in a no stakes poker match against my mates and thought I'd celebrate with a rendition of Mr Green.

On Day 100 I decided to draw my top 100 favourite pokemon. It took SO much longer than I anticipated, but I still think it was worth it.

After passing the Day 100 mark I thought it was about time to start varying my materials, so I gave pen drawing a go.

I learnt crosshatching and absolutely loved it, it's still a staple technique whenever I go for pen exclusively, highly recommend.

By Day 121 I was fed up of fumbling MY way through drawing faces so I decided to really crack down and try and learn.

As you can tell, it was a long and arduous journey.

By Day 125 I had filled up the first sketchbook and started a new one. As has become tradition, I decided to draw V2 again to see if I'd improved.

While still not my best (that one's coming up) I'm definitely a lot happier with how this one turned out compared to the first. Being able to see how I'd improved gave me so much inspiration to keep going.

Day 136 was the first time I decided to crack out the coloured pencils, so I commemorated the occasion by depicting one of my homebrew DnD deities bring colour to the material plane.

Banger after banger Day 137 is still one of my favourites. One day I'll make it into an album cover or something.

Jeff Bezos exploding in space because his stupid fucking cowboy hat isn't pressurised at all.

Day 142 I started experimenting with including the day number in the art itself, which was a trend I continued throughout the rest of the project.

After seeing Across the Spiderverse, I couldn't just not dedicate two pages and 4 hours of my life to making a tribute piece to the film. I still absolutely adore it, it's easily my second favourite film of all time (right behind the first one).

On Day 163 I recreated the Creation of Adam with my hand and my son.

Anyway so the next day I drew my top-secret creative process since so many people were asking for it.

Gettin naked and eating paint in the forest, duh.

Day 178 I made a spidersona, which is kinda my first ever OC? Like official one anyway.

Gave him a spruce up and a colour for ArtFight (which is SO FUN OMG)

Day 183 was the halfway mark (if you round up from 182.5) so I had to pay homage to the modern classic.

The face is my favourite bit.

Speaking of ArtFight, I made a whole cast of characters for it! I was a little apprehensive to participate at first, since I still wasn't super confident in my abilities, but it turns out that the community is super welcoming <3. If you wanna see the whole shebang you can check out my profile here, but my most popular character was Alice.

Which is awesome because we need more rollerblading rep in this world. We have Jet Set Radio and Ramona Flowers, but we need MORE.

I went to see the Barbennheimer double feature and had the time of my life during it, so I had to go home and make art of it.

Come to think of it, I use art to commemorate a whole lot of stuff. Isn't that neat?

On Day 221 I had just finished my first real short film for school and I was so happy I had gotten it all done. It was like 30,000 words of documentation, 7 months of work and I had to act as a man in it (damn you gender binary!) So I personified the relief of completion as the spectacle of gratuitous violence.

On Day 230 I finished Act II of Ultrakill for the first time (which at the time was the full game) and I couldn't get over just how hard Gabriel's monologue goes so I had to draw my favourite intro ever.

I still haven't played layer 7 though so no spoilers pls.

My son again! This time he's posing like Kali Uchis in her album "Sin Miedo (del Amor y Otros Demonios)" I won't pretend like I understand what that means, but the album sounds so beautiful and the cover is to die for so I put my son in there.

Day 235, the first full appearance of Spider-Girl. She's talking to her friend (Batman Beyond) who is trapped by the Riddler and forced to write a analytical essay of 12 Angry Men. Fun little detail with the day number is that Doc Ock actually threw the D at Spider-Girl as an attack.

I don't remember drawing Day 244, but I think it's actually really nice. Like an abundance of material slowly being wasted on someone hesitant to accept it or something. Idk I was probably sleep deprived to hell.

DAY 252! A momentous day. It was my second time switching sketchbooks and so I had to give V2 another crack and...

Still my favourite drawing of V2 I've ever done. Getting the ricochet coin in there as a framing tool is just so slay.

On Day 254 the pen I was using to take notes at school was finally laid to rest. I captured its final lines in this piece.

It's actually kinda moving. That pen was so good.

So, I was lookin up a reference of an animal for AF and somehow ended up the pipeline of carnivores, and anyway I have mayhaps kickstarted the process of a couple of new characters at fucking 2am in the morning for my pirate story - which is lovely, don't get me wrong I am very excited - and it takes every ounce of self-control not to do anything about that atm (end my suffering) because I still have a few days of AF grind left and have a good pace going here, so I cannot absolutely cannot divide any time for character creation, but boy are these fuckers chatty. Imma return to my regular shenanigans soon and will probably introduce a lot of babes here soonish too. My whole plans for this year got a bit derailed and shifted around, but eh, I am nothing if not adaptable. I already plan art for after artfight that I wanna get done asap - this is one of the things about artfight I do like as well because while I do art I think about a lot of other art I wanna do as well and I just dot down ideas with one hand while I continue to work on AF stuff with the other basically. I also have a picture that I'd like to remake, it is not even that old yet, but I was really proud of this one, and I'd like to recreate it into a version I can hang on my wall again, so that's gonna be fun. The good thing about it not being old is the fact that I actually remember very well how I build it up, especially on the watercolour background. Bottomline: I want to create even more than my body is physically able to pull off because I only have two hands but expect a lot of art.

1. What art programs do you have but don’t use?

I think I might still have Ibis Paint X on my phone from the dark days when I did digital art on my phone before I made this blog, but other than that I don’t have any. I hit it good with procreate and haven’t really felt the need to try anything else, thankfully.

5. Estimate of how much art you post online and how much you keep for yourself?

Honestly, I post about 95% of my art. If I haven’t posted it, it’s probably either oc art, unfinished, or done in a physical medium where I don’t wanna bother with photographing it (but I really don’t even draw or paint physically that much)

19. Favorite inanimate objects to draw?

Anything shiny! Gemstones, pearls, metal, even shiny fruit. Colors and shading are my favorite segments of drawing and I feel like shiny things really allow me to experiment with those two elements. I also get to add lots of fun highlights!

25. What’s something that your art has been compared to that you were not inspired by?

Actually, I can’t really think of much for this since I take inspiration from a whole lotta stuff so when people guess inspiration they tend to be right. The only specific example I can think of right now is an artfight attack I did of a bee themed character and one of my friends said it was owl-like because of the big, dark eyes I drew them with lol

Hey guys, important so please read this is an update on me and where ive been!

Hi, so its been a while, uh hi, so a lot has been going on since ive been gone, some good some bad, ive been participating in artfight this month, ive been sick, and a lot of other stuff! 

but i wanna make this post cuz i wanna share some stuff thats been going on with me and other stuff, now that ive decided to come back to tumblr to be active here again

so to start off, ive decided not too long ago that im gonna be returning to the hazbin hotel/ helluva boss fandom, i really enjoyed being apart of the fandom when i first started posting here, i made a lot of good friends in that fandom, i loved the ocs/ngs i had and relationships they had with my friend’s ocs. My bf got me back into it and i decided to give the fandom another shot, so yeah, im gonna be using my hazbin ocs/ngs again and im back to being apart of the fandom

also something else thats bee going on is im currently working on a new show that i have my friends working with me one called “Kingagers” (i’ll post stuff about that show at some point in the future) but its a project we’re working on, have voice actors for, as well as animators and other people to help out, we’ve currently taken a break from the show for a bit, but my friend is working on a storyboard for a trailer for the series, which im excited for cuz i really wanna get to animating and working on it to show to everyone and get opinions on, its a project im really happy to be working on and im happy to have other artists and animators that im glad to be friends with helping me put this together! ^^

also my bf joining tumblr and he’s gonna be posting his artwork and such there so if y’all could go follow my husband that’d be amazing! he’s very talented and draws a lot of cute stuff! he’ll also be drawing hazbin related stuff as well! (i’ll @ him in another post when he’s done setting his blog up)
