Might be an odd question, but when designing your black!Ellie art, how did you choose her skin tone? What undertones did you give her? (As a black person, I suck at describing skin tones... I'm still at a loss, but I'm trying to learn how to get better. It's just taking it's sweet ass time lol).
Also your art is wonderful and I adore seeing it on my dash.
hello, yes! so for that one, i knew i wanted her skintone to have a warm undertone, but not too red since she has a red shirt and i wanted a bit of differentiation there. i also wanted to make her mid-toned so that her freckles would stand out more, and also kinda just the fact that i hard-referenced zendaya the whole time.
as a tip, it's really important to consider how the colors in your work relate to one another. color theory's a bitch so it takes a lot of trial and error to understand what needs emphasizing and what needs to be more neutral in art.
for skin in particular, it might help to understand color variation in flesh? for that, i can only direct you to reference photos of different skintones. godspeed soldier o7

Hi! I noticed there are a lot of cool artist for the gbf fandoms, are there tags for ship names? Or an easier way to find them either here or on twitter? Thanks
Hey there!! O7 yeah we really have nice artists there huh!
I'm not the best of help here, though, i rarely go tag diving... on twitter it's a bit depending on your luck and the captions people put in their arts, often in Japanese (like ルシサン for LuciSan). On tumblr, people tends to tag more freely so you can find about anything the artists would want you to find. For ships, you'll have the best luck with portmanteau type of shipnames, ie, merging the two names into one. (With some nuances here and there like LuciSan refers to Lucifer x Sandalphon while CioSan refers to Lucio x Sandalphon)
From then, it's all trial and errors I'm afraid. If you find artists you like, check their blogs, they may have reblogged arts from artists with similar interests and you'll end up finding yourself a little catalogue there!
Anything can be tagged in there so try all sort of things with the search and you'll find some stuff eventually ;D
Take care and good luck!!
