Doing another re-watch of Our Flag Means Death. Figured I'd time it with Kristan Nairn's (spelling) last watch and David J being on his stream. I got more stuff to say/noticed. I love this show soooo much <3 Apparently it is live commentary time!
Does anyone know what is on Jim's old knife that is on the rock with their clothes when they go swimming in Episode 2. Looks green with a flag?
Mary's mom's outfit is so pretty! The pink with the embroidery is lovely <3 (Episode 4, at the beginning) Also her wedding outfit is pretty too. I love that blue.
Also, I wonder if the pearl necklace that Ed wears is one Stede gets from home cause we see Mary wearing a pearl necklace in epi 4. Or do you guys think he makes it?
Also, why did Stede immediately jump to thinking Ed was apart of Blackbeard's crew?
Also, the picture over the fireplace changed I think? In the scene with Nigel dying it has people on it but when he is talking to ed in 4, its just clouds.
I also love that when Stede suggests retirement he's like "I can't believe I'm saying this"
I adore that we as a fandom have just taken Ed's knee brace that is probably there to make him look cool and just ran with it actually being there cause knee problems.
Still analyzing what his look before saying "want to do something weird" means...
Izzy is such a dramatic bitch and I love that (definitely on the right ship for that)
When I first saw this I didn't understand why Ed was pushing Stede so hard but I think now its because he was showing him the pressure he suffers as Blackbeard. Same with episode 6. I get now that he's preparing him to be able to stab someone in case shite happens. The first time I saw it, I honestly thought it was because he thought they might have to fight each other and Ed was preparing him for that.
I wonder of in season 2 we are actually going to get to see Ed fighting cause we didn't at all in season 1.
Still can't get passed Ed's look when he tells Stede "Go" to pull the sword out.
Also something something episode 6 when Ed mentions turning a persons fear against them feels important for the last episode but I can't explain it.
When Stede is wearing his black turtleneck get up, I just noticed he was wearing a blue cloth tied around his waist.
Also can't get over Izzy caressing the curtain in Epi 6.
Still hurts that Ed not only lost a potential love interest but someone that seemed like a true friend.
So proud of Stede for catching the sword when challenged by Izzy. And I think he means the use of fuckery that Ed taught him well on, not actual sword fighting.
Also Jim during the entire duel scene XD love seeing them pantomime stabbing Izzy, lol
Also Izzy's choice of words still makes me giggle. "You will rue it LONG and you will rue it HARD." Izzy, what
Still wondering why exactly Ed wanted to leave the Revenge in epi 7 and why he was in a mood all day? was he embarrassed? Did he realize his feelings? During the treasure hunt was he just hungry and hated nature?
I can't wait to see if we ever get more about Jim's brother in season 2
Episode 7 is my favorite Jim/Olu episode <3
In episode 8...Ah I love Stede's little eyebrow flinch when CJ asks if he's buggering Ed.
Also I can't get over Samba's story about the hardest filming moment being the scene with Karl's death because he was behind a hexing Buttons who had his butt clenched.
Confident Stede is just...*chef kiss*
poor stede looks like he's going to cry when Ed leaves
I just noticed the red rim around Stede's eye from the telescope in episode 8 when he is spying on Ed and CJ
Goodness do I love that they used "The Chain" and it has gained new popularity because of that. It's such a good song. Freaking love Stevie Nicks. I grew up listening to this song <3
The foot touch!! Still hits even after seeing it several times.
I love unhinged Roach, lmao.
Idk but something about when Chauncey says to Ed that Stede is "apart of my world, not yours"
Aww, my heart still warms when the crew calls Stede a real pirate and defends him <3
Izzy's Revenge does sound funny
Omg, the kiss still is just as powerful. The little noise Stede makes! Ed practically climbing in to his lap! I can't wait till season 2 kisses.
Aww I want to see a little bit of Captain Olu in season 2.
Just noticed Stede has two pillows. Is one Ed's or did he Stede his way in to getting two?
Ed's last scene being happy D:
Geez, the trauma of Chauncey's death. I just took a trauma theory class and something we discussed is what is trauma. There was a writer who had a theory that a part of trauma comes from how a person reacts to a event. Considering (we assume) that this death caused Stede to run back home, we can say that this death was much more traumatic then any of the others. I hope that gets explored in Season 2.
My heart hurts every time I see Ed waiting for Stede. I wish he had looked for Stede, considering that man is a trouble magnet, but considering his own trauma, I can see why he didn't.
He had to of cried a bit while he rowed to the revenge, right? But he definitely looked angry while rowing? Probably at himself and Stede
I love the title of episode 10 so very much. Also, that we got to see Mary explore freedom. And the song at the very end of the episode. Miles from Nowhere was a wonderful choice. Also Avalanche.
I finally realize what I would call some of Stede's behavior while he is home. Bitter. I was just going to go with heartbroken and stuff but yeah, bitter.
I wonder if the crew realizes that Izzy is lying out his ass. Or if they know what happened to Stede. Maybe the crew just thinks that Stede decided not to come? or that he wasn't able to leave? Up until Lucius talks with ed?
Fang is precious <3
Just realized Ed was whistling while he was tidying up the Captain's room.
Sometimes I skip episode 10 on my re-watches. It huuuurrrts. I don't think I could accept a Izzy redemption arc until he realizes he messed up by turning Stede in and verbally hurting Ed when he was already vulnerable
He couldn't let go of Blackbeard so he's letting go of Ed T_T I think along with all the other analyzing of why Ed is crying, I think some of it is he just misses his friend.

SNW 2x03 Tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow thought-stream
[30 June '23]
First of all, what an amazing, TOS-style title. I love it.
La'an sounds so done right at the beginning XD
I thought this was going to be a complaint - "Nobody told me when I took this assignment just how many friends it would make for me."
Oh, it was XD
Pelia! Already an icon
"I will make every effort to practice less vigorously."
"Well as your sparring partner, I advise you talk to your physician."
Okay wtf was that?? Okay random dude just disappearing?
Kirk!
Wait this is yet another AU! Kirk?!
Is she gonna grab him and press the button? Because she totally should.
He doesn't feel like Kirk... but also I guess he *isn't* our Kirk, so that's okay?
*BIG SIGNS WITH TORONTO* "Seems to be New York City." Oh, honey XD
"I was born in space on the USS Iowa" - huh! I like the way they did that!
Hah, they dressed in the same clothes, hilarious! XD
Ohhh... does the crush really need to happen? :/
Chess chess chess! It is Kirk!
Actually, re:La'an's crush, tbf, I think it's just weird to not have a crush on Kirk myself 😅
Wait, mid 21st century? I thought in the ST universe that was when WW3 was happening... *Checks* 2026-51 yeaaaaa
Kinda creepy La'an, just standing there and watching him think.
Because we know Jim so well, it feels kind of weird that she doesn't
"My earth still has sunsets." Boom. That sure is a good argument.
I forgot she knew Sam! Or in fact that Sam was on the Enterprise 😅
You should look up Pelia!
Is this Jim actually gonna be a good driver?
VULCAN NERVE PINCH WHAT?
YISSSS, A PIECE OF THE ACTION THROWBACK INCREDIBLE
Tbf I'm sure that car is easier than 1930s
Wait why has she read his file and not Sam's
What happened to lessen the eugenics war impact???
Why do we have to have action Kirk in ace? But at least it's au Kirk?
Profiling? Oh Canadian against Americans?
My wife was abducted.
Love how ahe has to do all the work
Jim keeps being hungry but this Jim never went to Tarsus?
So is this supposed to be now so I'm America the sanctuary districys
Engineering extension
"I might actually know someone in Vermont." YES, PELIA!
>> Though my guess is she's not actually an engineer yet, just because that would be funny :P
I like how weird time travel gets when immortals are involved
"People are usually difficult for me." Oh, La'aaan <3
He's just another guy though 😅
🙄
((Why can they always squeeze m/f romance in one episode but never anything queer in one-and-a-bit seasons?))
Sera?! You're a villain?!
"Try me." *bang* oh jeez oh wow they really did just straight up kill Kirk??? Incredible.
Superior Romulan strength...
How is Khan about?? This is the wrong time? Unless they're going with DS9's "the Eugenics war was 200 years ago" miscontinuity and placing it where WW3 is supposed to be? I am a confuse
"And all this was supposed to happen back in 1992, and I've been trapped here for 30 years trying to get my shot at him."
WHAT WHAT WHAT???? SO THE TIMELINE IS ALREADY CHANGED? WHAT??? I love time travel but man this is messing up my head!
What on Earth just happened though with her disappearing into smoke? what.
"Are you gonna kill me?" Jesus, I cannot with this. MY HEART
Fricking Heck
So Khan was once just be a kid being experimented on? (Like Julian? 💔)
BUT HAS TIME CHANGED? WAS THE EUGENICS WARS NOW IN 2020S?? Pls I need to know!
Uhura's complete confusion and need to check out La'an when Pike says "You're not wearing your uniform." XD
Ohh, our girl's just been though a whole heck of a lot
Eyyy damn for a sec I thought that was gonna be Section 31 😅 Temporal Investigations are slightly less fucked
Nah nah nah, this girl needs therapy, please
Well she forget this? I kinda hope so... Because gosh, if she doesn't that's her and Pike who are gonna be weird when Kirk actually shows his face
They just ban her from talking to anyone about this despite all the massive trauma they just dumped on her?!! No that's not okay actually??? Damnnnn
She just straight up rings Kirk? Oh my word I love her so much
Ohhhh, La'an <3 <3 <3
This is the worst this is so unfair my poor girl... Oh, what the heck strange new worlds, what sort of comfort show are you??!
This was a brilliant episode, I loved it so much, and seeing so much more of La'an was awesome!

🎃+13 you write all your muses so well, I love marvel and it's great to have you in this fandom, you really care about your muses and it shows! you are such a lovely mun as well, so friendly and nice to everyone. I hope you're having a good spooky season!
{ Send [🎃 + a number] to ask the mun about their favorite… (#13) horror movie monster or antagonist. }
First of all, thank you so much, you're so kind! I'm always amazed whenever I get a nice piece of unprompted positivity. It's always a joy to receive. =) I am having a good spooky season so far! I hit some Halloween pop-up stores by me recently and I bought a bunch of pumpkins and gourds for the house and yard, so I'm really starting to get into my mental happy place, haha. Halloween is my favorite holiday, season, aesthetic, and lifestyle, because yes it is all four. XD
My answer to the meme is below the cut! =)
Now... as for a favorite horror movie monster or antagonist... omg there are so many. I adore horror movies so I've seen probably thousands of them at this point. I could give you a list of a hundred creatures, monsters, supernatural beings, or general antagonists in horror movies that I love. So okay... I'll pick one from a movie I just watched for the umpteenth time last night, Killer Klowns From Outer Space. It's an 80s B-movie that's just great fun. It's so imaginative and doesn't take itself seriously. It will always have a special place in my heart. I first watched it as a young child and I have the entire thing memorized line by line, haha.
Anyway, the basic premise is that carnivorous aliens that for some unexplained reason resemble clowns landed on earth and are hungry for people. That's it. That's the movie. You follow a small group of main characters as they battle these clowns. What makes the movie awesome is that they went to great lengths to capitalize on the clown theme. Everything about these creatures is clownlike. Their faces, their clothes, but so much more than that. They have wacky guns that shoot cotton candy that wraps people up in cocoons that slowly dissolves them into a liquid that the clowns then drink up through crazy straws. They have giant balloons to store people for later. Acidic pies that dissolve everything but the bones when thrown at you. Clown cars to get around in. Footprints that go everywhere, even on walls and ceilings. Bottomless pizza boxes that can hold an entire clown or person. Balloon and shadow animals that come to life. Murderous puppets. The list goes on and on. It's just a really fun movie, seriously.
My favorite "monsters" from this movie are the baby clowns. In keeping with the whole clown theme, the baby alien clowns come from popcorn. The adult clowns have popcorn guns that shoot sprays of popcorn at you. The popcorn then gets stuck to your clothing and is hatched by moisture and body heat, and they very rapidly grow into baby clowns, which are actually these pods out of which grows a long neck with a closed-eyed baby clown head on it. The idea is to deposit the popcorn like seeds onto the "food" the babies need to grow. I have a replica of one, I adore them, I think they're so cute hahaha. (I have a weird idea of cute.)
The most prominent scene with the baby popcorn clowns is when Debbie, one of the movie's protagonists, gets sent home to be safe by her boyfriend (it's the 80s... just roll your eyes and keep reading heh) and takes a shower. Beforehand, she had gotten some popcorn stuck to her sweater, so one ended up in the toilet, another couple in her medicine cabinet, and another couple in her hamper in her bathroom. After she's all done in the shower, they attack! Mayhem ensues. Here's a clip if you'd like to watch them in action. And if you watch the entire clip to the end, you'll see some of the adult clowns as well. Enjoy!
So yeah, the baby popcorn clowns have been some of my favorite horror movie monsters since I was very tiny. They're just so cute, I kinda want one as a pet, lol. XD

I Will Give You A Reason
A/N: Set in season 6, episodes 2-3 (I think at least it was those episodes xD) This piece is quite angst-filled one, so prepare yourself with tissues if you have to. If there is any mistakes to the few words/sentences of Swedish used in this, they are entirely my own as that isn't my strongest foreign language and I didn't use a translator. Also this was written about a year ago when I watched True Blood for the first time.
Fandom: True Blood
Summary: Emily and Pam have searched for Eric across the world. When they finally find the 1,000 years old viking vampire from France Emily's already shattered world seems to turn into dust: Eric, her rock, her best friend, the only father she's ever had, is sick.
Characters: Eric Northman, Pamela Swynford de Beaufort, Emily Northman (oc)
Words: 2736

"Pam, you have to eat."
You don't look like yourself, she wanted to add but stopped herself just in time. The vampire had been snappier for a few days now and Emily didn't want to make her mad at her. Not that she believed that Pam would really hurt her, even in anger. She had never done so after that one time and that had been when Emily was six and she hadn't known when to keep her mouth shut.
Well, maybe she still didn't know when to keep her mouth shut —but she was better than ten years ago!
Pam turned to look at the teenager—No. The young woman, that Emily had blossomed into in the last months despite that the world seemed to grow shittier every fucking day. Perhaps that was the reason why. Emily had lost that soft roundness on her face and her eyes were tired, dark bags under her eyes. Her clothes hung on her, and Pam, for a brief moment, wondered when was the last time the human herself had eaten.
"I'm not hungry."
Emily resisted the urge to roll her eyes, instead, she sat down on the only chair in the motel room they were in. "Snälla, Pam. You could at least stop lying to me about it - I'm not blind!"
Pam was about to snap something back, but instead, her hand reached the doorknob. But before she left the room she turned to face Emily again. "If I can't find anything tonight, I'll feed on you tomorrow, I promise. Stay here, don't open the door to anyone and don't invite anyone in."
Emily let Pam say those words the vampire had said every night although the girl is tired of hearing them night after night. But it seemed to help Pam, to get to remind her of those small yet so trivial rules. So Emily's "I know" echoed in the empty vampire-friendly motel room after Pam had left and closed the door behind her.
Her eyes spotted the room key left on the small cracked table near the door. In the first months of their search, Pam locked Emily in but lately, the vampire had not taken the keys with her at all.
And because of that Emily knew that Pam was starting to become suicidal in their search for Eric.
•-•-•-•-•
“I think I found him.”
Pam has never - as far as Emily’s memory goes back - sounded more… excited? Happy? No, that is not the right word and she knew that. Pam’s voice was flat, she tried to hide the hope that had filled her but Emily felt it. It radiated off Eric’s first progeny and she couldn’t help it; for the first time in months, Emily dared to let herself hope too.
But there was something else she sensed from Pam. She was sad too, and that made the girl swallow. “But?” When did my voice start to sound so weak? So small?
Pam’s next words killed something inside of her.
“Tara is dead. I felt it.”
What felt like minutes passed and Emily couldn’t say anything, couldn’t move from her spot. Pam was still but there was no denying the glint in her eyes. Emily and Pam had never been the type to coddle each other. Never.
Still, Emily raised up in her bed anyway, took the few short steps it took to reach the vampire, who had been her only family for six months now, and she wrapped her arms around her, swallowing and blinking back the tears she felt coming.
“I’m so sorry, Pam.”
And Pam - beautiful, bad-ass, smart Pam - returned the young woman’s embrace, letting bloody tears run freely, staining Emily’s shirt with red.
•-•-•-•-•
The plane landed in France the same evening - Pam in a coffin in the cargo hold.
They flew to the villa in France. Pam had told Emily that she and Eric used to live here before they were forced to go to Shreveport.
She could see why the two vampires had chosen this place to reside in — even in the night, the garden surrounding the sand-coloured walls of the large building was breathtakingly beautiful.
Emily had more pressing matters though than to watch the sights. She could feel him. First time in over six months, Emily felt Eric. That familiar flare that had so long been gone from inside her, burned again. No. Not completely familiar. There was no doubt that the vampire she felt was indeed Eric Northman. But his life force, which had always been so strong… it cracked. Like old dry cement.
Something is wrong, Emily thought as she followed Pam inside, to a spiral staircase going down, down, down.
Emily swallowed. She had a bad feeling. Very bad feeling - and god, she wished she was wrong. She begged to be wrong. That there was simply something wrong with her own powers, and not something wrong with her Eric.
Wishful thinking, foolish thinking, she knew. Knew because she had felt this same feeling before over the past months - recently more often than she would have wanted to.
Emily and Pam started to make their way down the stairs, and Emily - her chest tightened in pain.
Two youngish and beautiful women met the vampire and the empath on the stairs. One of them said something in French. Emily couldn't understand, she had never bothered learning French. Maybe sometime during 'forever' — she had used to think that. Not anymore, not for a long time now.
She didn't know what the French woman said but she did feel their emotions. Confusion. Betrayal. Hurt. Confusion.
The final round of the spiral and Pam and Emily saw the room.
As soon as Emily's eyes fell on him, she felt her heart tighten. She had thought she had felt pain last night when Tara died the true death. She had been wrong.
Nothing she had ever felt compared to the heart-wrenching, punch-in-the-gut pain that crashed over her like a hurricane when the dark veins creeping up her guardian's chest, the meaning of them, finally hit her.
And even though her legs felt like boiled spaghetti, Emily forced herself to step closer to Eric. Eric who was sick. He can't be! He's Eric for fuck's sake! But he could be, and he was. "No" pushed through her lips, past the lump in her throat, the word sounding broken.
And Eric.
Eric Northman's eyes switched from his first progeny to his human equivalent to a daughter. "You found me."
“How long?” Pam asked the question that burned on Emily’s mind too. It seemed that Eric was still in the first stage of the Hep-V virus but she knew that that didn’t mean anything. Not because she didn’t know how long Eric had been sick. He could have months left with proper blood sources but then again, if the disease got worse, he could only have days.
The tall blonde vampire didn’t answer, not right away. He almost looked like he was about to fall asleep. Hot tears began to blind the teenager’s vision as she grabbed his hand in hers. His hand had always been cold. Cooling touch relieving to Emily. Eric’s hand was warm now. This is wrong! Emily’s mind screamed at her.
“Eric?”
“Can you repeat the question?”
And those words that seemed so meaningless, so genuinely apologetic, were the words that sent Emily’s tears falling from her eyes.
“How long have you been sick?” And Emily heard in Pam’s voice that she was crying too.
“Saw the first signs last month”, Eric said and not once in the time Emily had known Eric had he sounded so weak. So tired.
“When you were in St. Petersburg”, Emily heard herself say. She and Pam had tracked Eric there - Pam cursing all of the time they were in Russia, how she hated the Russians with her gut.
Something flickered in Eric’s blue, tired eyes. And even though faint, Emily felt the emotion: surprise. And even if the situation they are in, is fucked beyond belief, the young woman of seventeen found herself smiling, just the tiniest bit. Because one didn’t sneak up on Eric Northman that easily.
“Don’t act all surprised”, Pam said behind Emily. “We searched the whole fucking planet for you - St. fucking Petersburg, Eric? You know how I hate the Russian people.”
“Well, I didn’t know you two were gonna come looking for me”, Eric said, eyes moving to Emily whose eyes squinted slightly.
“Then you were an idiot”, Emily said in Swedish. Another small wave of surprise from Eric. Emily continued. “Why did you keep moving then?”
“Yes, I want to know the answer to that as well”, Pam said crossing her arms.
Eric chuckled, although it awfully sounds like a mix of a chuckle and a cough. Too rough, Emily thought.
“Congratulations, Pam, Emmy-”, and Emily’s eyes were burning with unshed tears again because it had been so long that she had heard that nickname from Eric. “You have outwitted me.” His hand raised to touch Emily’s cheek. “But only because I’m not well.”
Pam told about Tara, but to Emily’s confusion, Eric didn’t offer words of comfort, didn’t say he was sorry to hear that. Instead, he asked about a stupid bucket game he played in Marocco - the same game Pam had played last night to get the information of Eric’s location.
“Oh… I liked the bucket game.”
And Pam was about to snap, she already took steps forward, but Emily beat the vampire to it.
“What is wrong with you?! You are Eric fucking Northman!” her hands balled to fists, the tears in her eyes no longer coming out of sadness, but anger. “You don’t give up. You fight!”
“Fight’s over, Emily.”
“This can’t all be about Sylvie.”
Emily didn’t know who Sylvie was. But she knew that Eric giving up like this couldn’t be just because of one person.
“Godric”, Eric stated. “Nora.” Emily felt a tug of pain in her chest, partly her own, partly the vampire’s whose hand she still held in hers. “And yes, Sylvie too.”
And Pam’s next question made Emily’s heart skip a beat, two beats. Because she had never, even in her wildest worst-case scenarios, thought about that. Not until Pam put that idea in her head when she asked: “Did you contract the virus on purpose?”
Eric wouldn’t do that. He wouldn’t do something so… he wouldn’t! but despite her thoughts, Emily couldn’t have said why she was suddenly so afraid of his answer.
“On purpose? No-” Eric said, shaking his head a little, and Emily felt a relieved breath leave her. “But did I go about my dealings with a devil-may-care attitude? Absolutely.”
“Damn you!” Emily snapped, but then she burst into tears. She was exhausted - she hadn’t slept since Marocco and even there it was just a few hours -, and the only thing that had kept her from having a break-down had been hope. Hope that she would see Eric again soon. But this reunion had not been the relief she had waited for. She was glad to see him again, but a small part of her wished they never would have found him.
Because now, she was afraid. More afraid than she had ever been in her entire life - and that was saying something after the torture Edgington had put her through two years ago.
Eric tried to reach for the girl, but Emily turned away, scooting back in the chair so she sat by his legs. She pulled her knees up, hugged herself tightly and buried her face in her knees as sobs racked her whole body. She was barely aware that Pam had sat on Eric’s other side, trying to reason with him.
“Don’t do this to us”, Emily heard Pam start sobbing and she turned her head, just enough that she could see Eric and her again - and she didn’t want to. She really didn’t but she still reached out with her hand, and her fingers - still so small and slim in comparison - wrapped around Eric’s large hand the best they could. “Please, Eric…”, Emily sobbed, too.
“God damn you!” Pam cursed.
“For more than 1,000 years, the world has been my oyster”, Eric said.
“And it still can be”, Pam argued. “I’ll do anything.” Emily squeezed Eric’s hand. Me too. I would do anything for you. She wanted to say but the words refused to leave her.
“I’ve lost my taste for oysters, Pam.”
“Then find it again.” Emily’s voice came out harsher than she intended and she gained Eric and Pam’s attention. Wiping her face with the back of her hand, she uncurled herself from her position. “Du lovade mig”, Emily said in Swedish, desperately, and her voice was thick with emotion.
Something in Eric’s eyes shifted. Turned softer and sad. “I know I did, sweetheart, but the world has changed since then.” He grabbed Emily’s wrist and pulled her towards him - and even sick, Emily found out that Eric was still so much stronger than she was. She was only human after all - even if it was with a little something extra. Eric’s feelings were clear and honest at his next words as his hand rested on the side of Emily’s face, thumb lightly brushing away her tears.
“My sweet little Emily”, Eric whispered, his lips forming a quick smile, sad and warm at the same time. “You are gonna go out there. You are gonna grow up to be a beautiful, smart woman, go to some stupid fucking university and find yourself a good, loving human husband. You’re going to have kids and you will tell them stories about their 1,000 years old vampire grandfather… and you will be happy… Do you understand?”
Emily swallowed, her hand raising on top of Eric’s now-wrong-temperature hand. She only barely managed to croak out the tiniest of “yes”. Even though she knew she would not do any of that.
“You should go. Both of you.”
Pam was crying but she was the first to rise from beside Eric and start to walk towards the staircase.
This is wrong! Emily’s mind screamed as she rose. Virus or no virus Eric was not just any other vampire - he was Eric! 1,000 years old vampire and a viking! Vikings had not just sat down and waited for death to come collect them! At least Emily didn’t think so. No. Vikings, they avenged. Just like Eric had avenged his human family only seven or so months ago.
As his last act… Emily felt no guilt of thinking about this at that moment, no guilt about throwing someone else’s life to a path to death - as far as she was concerned the other person deserved it.
As his last act before true death, Eric Northman could take revenge against the person who did this to him.
“Sarah Newlin”, Emily said, turning back to face Eric again. Out of the corner of her eyes, she saw Pam turn on her heels a glint of surprise and (oh that traitorous) hope in her eyes.
“What about her?” Eric asked, his eyes closed.
“What if I told you that Jason Stackhouse let her live.”
Eric’s eyes opened, his voice hardened. “He didn’t.”
“He did”, Pam said, catching on to Emily’s plan. “And she’s out there.”
“Where?”
“No one’s seen her”, Emily said.
“I have to imagine she’s in hiding somewhere”, Pam offered.
Emily saw Eric’s jaw clench. Then… then, with what seemed like a heavy effort, Eric pushed himself up in the chair and slowly, slower than Emily was used to seeing the vampire’s motions - Eric Northman stood in front of her, grasping her shoulder, as his eyes once again roamed between his girls.
“Well, let’s go find her.”
Emily wasn’t naive. She knew that Eric was still dying, but at least now he wouldn’t just sit down here and wait for it. He would go down fighting.
Just like he had taught her was the right way to go.
Just like the viking he was supposed to be - just like Eric fucking Northman was supposed to fight.
So, yes, Eric was still dying but at least now - and maybe it was selfish to think that way, but Emily didn’t find it in herself to care - Emily had a few more days to spend with the man who had taken her in as if she was his progeny instead of some orphan human child with empath powers.

Season 2 q&a and overall reaction
Jonny stealing everyone's names XD
Is martin going to be ok!? I also need to know!
He said no;-;
ok ya, no one's gonna be ok.
Ya, he must do sooo much research.
Ya, except for "fatigue" lol.
Eyyy the mechanisms!!
What's the red string brigade? Ok, I guess a group of fans theorizing about stuff.
Oh ok so someone else did martins poetry. Ooh, there's more martin poetry out there! *grabby hands*
Ok ya, Alex clarifying that Jon isn't stupid he just makes poor decisions. Probably if he'd paused and thought about it (like I did lol, I had to go do some stuff in the middle of that ep and thought about it a whole bunch lol) instead of immediately going out and buying an axe and further isolating himself and panicking immediately he probably would have figured it out. This is why it's bad to panic in a crisis guys.
Eyyy! Jonny's parents voiced Gertrude and Leitner! That's so cool.
XD Jonny grumbling about having to work with his parents.
Hmm, I hadn't really thought of Gertrude being like a mother figure in the story? She just seems very cut-throat I guess from what Leitner said. Idk so far I've been very suspicious of her. Especially since that one statement where her photo burned a whole bunch of people or something. She just seems very shady...
Alex chortling over Jonny's pain. XD
Side note, Every time there's a q&a I just can't stop noticing Jonny's voice going in and out of archivist range? Like most of the time I'm just listening along and then he'll say a sentence a bit grumblier and my brains immediately like "ARCHIVIST! That's THE ARCHIVIST!!"
Martin would be the last one alive in Friday the 13th! It's official!
(Is it bad that this gives me hope)
Jon likes Nonfiction, documentaries, and probably collects something just a little bit weird. *writes down for use in potential fics*
also while im at it I remember jon saying he dislikes coffee at one point,  and so many people have him liking coffee in their fics! This has been your daily reminder of that fact because ever since then it keeps bugging me lol. (But also do whatever u want.)
Alex's spluttering sounds so much like Martin.
Yes!! I want to hear jon sing!! Yes! Musical Episode When!!?
Ah yes yes yes! All the characters are so unique!!? How does he do it!!
Ya, it being in audio format sometimes makes it hard to understand what's happening in the live-action bits. (Live-action is the wrong word but u know what I mean.)
Oh ok ya, how he mentioned he got a pipe was quite clever I didn't realize that that's why he mentioned it at all.
Ooh, there's a manga where there's something similar to Michael? I'll have to look that up later...
XD Alex and Jonny arguing about apples.
Ok, so all the statements we're hearing ARE for reals. I kinda assumed but good to have it confirmed.
They used to hang out together!!? Work function curry nights!! ;-;
Ya Ya! Who made the leitners!?
"You are assuming a book needs to be written" ...ok then. (but it has to have been created somehow??? Did they just spring fully formed from the powers? why? And why take the form of books?)
Alex's mischievous laugh about whether jon has friends *trembles in fear*
Yes!! Micheal is so good! I'm so happy they love him too! Yesyes! His laugh!
Ah Yes!! Mary kaey was so creepy!
XD yes yes yes fatigue was written on zero sleep, I knew it!
Akskdjdkd I love them so much. Also, I've looked up Michaels voice actor luke booys and he does some other horrory type sketches n stuff and I kiiinda want to do a little animatic with some of those but it's Michael like annoying some poor soul lost in his halls... I think that'd be fun. I wonder if anyone's done that yet? If so someone send me the links I neeeed iiitt :3
Season 2 summary:
Uuuuu ya so this season was really good. I kinda listened to it in bursts of about ten episodes every couple weeks and then have been saving up the reactions to post later so these are usually going up about a week or so after I actually listened to the episode just FYI.
I also do have a lot of spoilers cause I can't keep myself away from fanfic and people don't always tag for spoilers and I kiiinda wana know what's coming beforehand anyway? Idk it's hard man I get very stressed about what might happen and then also listening to too much at a time is too spooky for my poor little heart so I gotta read the less spooky fanfic to fulfill the hyperfixation you see. (If anyone has fanfic with spoilers only up to season 2 that'd be great btw)
Anyway, I try not to take spoiler type stuff into account unless I'm just so sure of it I can't really not acknowledge that I know about it.
Also, can I just talk about Michael for a minute?? Cause he's such a unique character? And I guess maybe there are other characters like him but I haven't ever seen one -tho to be fair tma is only like the third horror thing I've ever really got into (the other two are the SCP Foundation in its various forms and Little Nightmares. Hence why I keep making reference to SCP it's really the only thing I know similar to this.) But he's such a cool concept!!? Like someTHING that still has a personality? He's so not human? Like I get what he says but also I don't really? Idk im pretty sure he's an avatar right? Right?? Idk if that means he was a person at some point? But all this to say that he is probably the most inhuman character I've come across so far and I'm trying to figure out what it is about him that's so "other" to me? Like... I don't really know what Micheal's deal is? he seems to want to be sort of a neutral mischief-maker but also it seems like he keeps getting invested. But also I just love the way he talks about himself. Like he's a monster that has a personality and is fully intelligent but isn't just evil but isn't neutral either and certainly isn't benevolent. Like he's so complex and just,,,, the idea of a "thing" that's got a personality?? I love it? Kind of like dryads or spirits of things? Like the idea that after a long time things gain personality just by existing? Not that that's what Michael is necessarily? but that same sort of concept applies to him I think. Like the way he IS the maze and wants to help but wants to just watch but wants to kill them all. He's just so interestinggggggg. (And another vision of what jon could become?)
also "es Mentiras" is a beautiful name 💕
So are him and not-Sasha avatars? Not-Sasha also seems completely inhuman and I was under the impression that avatars were (or used to be) human? Or are they like personifications of their power? Do all the powers have personifications of themselves. not-Sasha seems even less human than Michael? Like she seems to just really genuinely enjoy causing fear? Tho I guess we didn't really get to hear a lot of her. She just seemed kinda gleefully angry most of the time we heard from her. Was she... Human once!???
Anyway. Also, can I just talk about leitners line about jon belonging to the eye!!? Just..*chefs kiss* hnnnngg I need more jon grappling with that. I just need more everyone dealing with the fallout post all of the finallies ok? I still need more of jon angsting over his worms scars and stuff and now I also need jon freaking out about belonging to a fear god power thing.
Also Martin! Is Martin ok? He sure did a lot of yelling which he doesn't usually? Look I love him and he actually thinks before he acts (unlike SOME people *looks at jon*) and he writes poetry and it is pretty good poetry ok!! And he cares about everyone and just wants a happy ending and aaaaa😭
Petition to get some statements from Martin's pov tho? I mean that's not gonna happen cause Jon's the archivist but I want more martin pov!! Maybe we can get some of his poem tapes??? Pls?????
I feel so bad for Tim. It sounds like he's kinda fallen into despair.
Also Elias!!? Is showing his spooky side!!? He can control cameras and beat a man to death with a pipe!!? This is his "place of powerr"!!? I am afeared!!? At least jon knows he shouldn't trust him now. Oh jeez, I wonder if jon will listen back to the tape and know what happened. Thhhatsss rough. Oh dear, I hope he doesn't feel guilty cause Leitner did keep trying to hurry him and now everyone thinks it was him. Even martin thinks he did it? Wich like I kinda want to hear more of his thoughts on that? How much does he believe that jon did it? Tim certainly seems pretty certain but he's a bit biased and cynical right now so.
And they were in the maze for DAYS?
Now I need martin recovering from being stuck with Tim in Michaels maze for days being angry and worried and hungry etc... Dksjdksa knowing jon could be dying RIGHT NOW and there's nothing he can do. Please someone give me the fic links if this exists!! I've already written like 5 drabbles based entirely on spoilers/other fics (which I'll probably post (w/ links to their inspirations) once I'm caught up and can make sure I'm not just completely demolishing cannon lol.
Leitner didn't even scream or yell or anything when he was murdered. Literally the chillest dude ever. F
Overall super great, Elias is terrifying, let's dive into the next season!!! I've got 2 seasons to finish in like, less than 2 or so weeks(?) if I wana be caught up by season 5 hhhh,,,
Better get started I guess.
