Ask me a ship and I'll tell you:
NaruSaku
Tumblr media
Who proposed to the other first?
Naruto.
It took several practice sessions with Iruka (because Sasuke refused) pretending to be Sakura for Naruto to master the trick of kneeling and presenting the ring with an air of confidence. But when it mattered, Naruto tipped over his shoelaces (he never worn formal attire ever), accidently knocked over the table (somehow) and bumped straight into Sakura (some ninja he was), and that was how both got kicked out of the very expensive restaurant for causing ruckus.
But when Sakura said she thought "formal proposals were overrated anyway", he took her to Ichiraku, looked her dead in the eye while slurping on ramen, passed her the ring and popped the question illegibly.
Sakura understood anyway and threw a ring she brought for him on his face. She never said 'yes' but she didn't need to.
Who kissed the other first?
Naruto.
It was during a mission. They almost got caught by enemy guards (thanks to Naruto who doesn't know what it means to whisper) while they were following their target. Naruto did the only thing that would have possibly given them an edge. He pulled her to shade and initiated the kiss. Sakura only made sure they looked very convincing. Regardless to say, they got (kicked) out from the location, but without damage.
Later, this kiss inspired many more kisses that they began to steal from each other in the dark.
Who gives a good-morning kiss to other?
Sakura.
Although Naruto is always in bliss whenever Sakura stays night at his place and he is always up early if only to see her wake, it is Sakura who, when she wakes up, sleepily, kisses him first and gets out of the bed to prepare for the day. He always remain in bed until the shower is turned on.
Who likes to play with other's hair?
Naruto.
Between two of them, they both know it is Naruto's hair that is much softer to touch. It wasn't always like that of course.
But Naruto has always found Sakura's hair to be the prettiest thing he's ever seen. The way sunshine would turn it gold, and moonlight silver, has always amazed him. He would give special attention to her hair whenever they'd make love and cuddle. Once Sakura asked if he loved her only for her hair, which he doesn't refute, much to Sakura's chargin and amusement.
Who likes to play footsies?
Sakura.
There was something innately sexy about Sakura's arms and legs. It could be that she's got the best built – one that is lean and strong all the same – out of their peers. Naruto's breath hitch every time those legs brush his and her heels trace an imaginary line on his calves. They know they should focus on the meeting. They know it was inappropriate for a Hokage to be distracted in the middle of the what could be a very important meeting. But they also know his very playful and intelligent wife was adept at takes noting of everything. Everything.
Who is the dominant one?
Kurama.
As much as Sakura loves to be on the top, it becomes hard when a demon houses in your lover's body. More often than not, Kurama who more or less has become a part of their relationship would take over Naruto's body whenever Sakura would cross a particular threshold of dominance tolerated to her. Apparently, it was insulting for an alpha male like Kurama to be taken from above by a mere mortal woman, even if the said woman was his host's wife. Not that it was his body she was making love to in first place.
It's only because Naruto could feel everything even when Kurama takes his body that they put up with his sexism. Besides, Sakura doesn't mind.
Who likes to keep a picture of the other with them all the time?
Both.
They each wear a necklace bearing each other's photo inside, to remind themselves of the times they were missing out on, of their significant other waiting for them at return home, to keep them company for the late nights when they get too busy with their duties.
Who likes to buy the other gifts?
Naruto.
He always send his clones to get Sakura flowers to cheer her up on days he hears about loss in the hospital. He often requests Gaara for new poisons he knows Sakura will enjoy in her lab. He takes her out on dates even after years of marriage – particularly to that very expensive restaurant, where he had planned to propose to her, that had kicked them out. They act deliberately loud in that one, but they don't get kicked out of course. Nobody minds what you do when you have power.
Most days, they don't send gifts for one another not because they couldn't but because those things don't spark joy in the face of the brighter things. Like, when Sakura comes to pick him up from office after her late shift, knowing he would still be cooped up in his office because he lost track of time.
Who takes initiative in making physical contact?
Sakura.
She would hit him whenever he would make a mistake, forget something important, or skip meals. Then, next moment she would be patting him like he were a dog, kiss his woes away and be on her merry way. She would come to his office to check if he had his lunch, and would force feed him if he hadn't (more often than not). She would drag him out of his office if he isn't home by 12 or would stay and help him until the work is done. She wasn't gentle nor romantic by any stretch, but she would always touch him for one reason or other.
Who plans their dates?
Naruto.
His clones come in handy. They'd scout the area and report back their findings. Naruto would jot it all down, highlighting their specialities, an habit Shikamaru and Sakura drilled into him, and allows Sakura to make her choice for their next date. Life is simple for them when it comes to making choices. It is when they are together that life becomes exciting.
Who was shy on their first date?
Neither.
Their first date had been no different than any normal meetups they've had before. Except with lingering touches, an innocent kiss turned make up session, and a hug.
Who wakes up the other?
Before marriage: Naruto would wake up first and help Sakura get started on her day – would make her coffee just the way she liked, set her outfit out by the vanity, make sure her bag is set just so she doesn't miss her files, and make bath for them. He would join her on the bed, and wait for her to wake up so he could get his prize for his hardwork.
After marriage: They'd both be too exhausted to find energy in them to wake up. Sakura would be the first to get out of the bed, but only after giving Naruto his customary kiss, and would set bath for them. Her husband would still be lost to the world so she would carry his sleepy ass into bath and prepare him for the day so they could once again be on their way to face the world.
Who was shy in taking their relationship to next level?
Sakura.
When Naruto and Sakura engaged in a kiss that was more passionate than they ever experienced before, Sakura knew what was coming. Her mind was a turmoil of emotions that had nothing to do with the heat that flared inside her body.
Sakura was no stranger to kisses. She liked – no, loved – kissing Naruto senseless. She could think of hundred ways that could make Naruto respond to her with only a kiss, and she loved that he loved kissing her. But, her body was her vulnerability. She could think hard but still would draw blank if it's about telling one positive detail about her body. Naruto always looked at her like she was the only woman in the world – and while the sentiment was flattering, it meant expectations. She was terrified of disappointing him. She didn't want to consider the possibility of him finding her body undesirable. They were dating, not married. He had no ties to her, he was free to find someone who he'd be attracted to, a better life, with someone who'd be a lot, lot better than her. She loved him, and she knew he loved her, but the chances of her messing this up were astronomical and –
Naruto pulled away from the kiss to look at her, to understand why she froze in his arms. He didn't understand the reason behind her anxiety – why she would freeze whenever his hands would inch a little too close to her chest or a little below her hips – so he did what she really wanted him to: stop.
One night, Sakura murmured her fears into his ears and Naruto, who had never seen her look so timid and breakable, gave her what she needed the most: time.
Time until marriage so she wouldn't have a reason to be afraid.
Who hogs up the blankets in their sleep?
Naruto.
When it happened for the nth time, Sakura threatened to kick Naruto out of the bed with only his dear blankets to shelter him from cold. He nodded his consent of course, but it repeated the next day and the day after, too, but Sakura is nothing if not adaptable, so she has thus learnt to keep another blanket on her side of the bed so she doesn't die in her sleep on cold mornings.
Who is easy to get jealous?
Sakura.
You can't help some things from happening when your boyfriend-turned-husband is a war-hero, as Sakura learnt it one week into her dating him. While she isn't bothered per se – being considered quite a hit among men and popular across countries herself – but there is a bold line between people admiring your lover and people feeling up your lover.
It is only because her reputation and her glare which is known to promise suffering that people scurry away from Naruto whenever she is in the vicinity.
No, Sakura is just worried for Naruto. She knows her husband wouldn't try things if he knows what's best for him.
Who cooks in the house?
Naruto.
Sakura can't cook rice to save her life. Period. Everyone in team 7 is well-aware about her inability to be domestic in general. Naruto finds it endearing most of the times– times when she is not attempting to make him her test subject for her culinary experiments.
They don't need chef to make them dinner when they return home, Naruto always makes sure to send a clone to make them dinner. Sakura has more than once told him that she was the luckiest woman in the world to have him as her husband. He makes them fresh bentos through clones. He tries new recipes whenever he gets a day off and surprises Sakura with his skills. Their sundays involve just them and their kitchen.
Sakura still insists on making them dinner whenever she could. She learnt to make a decent ramen after a month long – disastrous – training from Ayame. Although Sakura always adds too much of something, Naruto always licks his bowl clean because to him her ramen is only second to Ichiraku.
Who 'protects' and who 'nurtures'?
Sakura protects him.
Naruto nurtures her.

Team 7 Training 2
Part 1
“I just wanna get stronger so I can show Sasuke that we can be friends!” Naruto said, throwing a couple of punches at the air. His new sensei, Jiraiya, just stared at him fondly. While he admired the nine tails for his intense friendship with Sasuke, he was worried that it would break the kid’s heart to learn about the true betrayal. True, he had fought off several ninjas in order to fight off Sasuke himself, but he still had it in his mind that Sasuke was coming back.
“Are you sure you don’t want to get strong so a certain lady friend will finally notice you? Ladies absolutely love strong ninjas like you.” Jiraiya offered, leaning back against a tree lazily as he watched his new pupil. Naruto turned a bright shade of pink and he quickly looked away.
“W-well, maybe that too. But mostly for Sasuke. And becoming the strongest Hokage the Hidden Leaf has ever seen!” Naruto exclaimed, jumping up high into the air as he mentioned his lifelong dream.
“If you ask me, becoming strong for the ladies is far superior to all of those things. If you’re strong enough, you can get any girl you want in the village. In any village!” Jiraiya said, smiling at just the thought. Ah, all of those different girls. Each different village meant a different level of experience and kinks never before seen in the leaf village.
“You’re gross sometimes, pervy sage.” Naruto said, scrunching up his face in disgust. There was only ever one girl on his mind at all times and she already had her heart set on Sasuke. Maybe if he brought Sasuke back, she would realize how strong he was too and decide to choose him instead. That thought alone was enough to get the fire back into his heart.
“I really do hate it when you call me that,” Jiraiya grumbled to himself, but it wasn’t as if he could actually correct him on that front. Even some of the girls he had relations with admitted that he could be pervy at times.
“Alright, Pervy Sage! Let’s get to training already! I wanna know how to fight better and get Team 7 back together!” Naruto said excitedly before bouncing over to where his sensei was. Jiraiya always looked so bored, but that never really bothered Naruto. His first official teacher in the ninja arts was Kakashi and that man was just about impossible to read because of his mask.
“We’ve already trained so much today. Leave this old man alone to his thoughts.” Jiraiya whined, closing his eyes in hopes that Naruto would just leave him alone. Of course, that was like asking the kid to just stop breathing.
“If I leave you alone, all you’ll do is think gross thoughts, Pervy Sage. I still have a ton of energy and more to practice! Let’s keep going! Keep training!” Naruto said, bouncing up on the balls of his feet as he looked at Jiraiya with the widest eyes that he could. Even though the sage couldn’t see it, he could practically feel those puppy dog eyes piercing through his armor.
Fine. If this kid wanted to train, they would train.
“Alright, kid.” Jiraiya sighed, opening his eyes begrudgingly.  Naruto jumped up high in the air with an excited yell. Where the hell this kid had the energy to do all of this was  beyond him. It was almost impossible for him to just keep up with his own pupil.
“What are we gonna learn today? Can you teach me how to make a lightning sword? Or maybe you could teach me to talk to bugs? Dogs? Oh! Foxes! I bet I would be really good at talking to foxes.” Naruto said excitedly, looking around as if any of those creatures would be available for him to attempt to control. Jiraiya rolled his eyes and picked Naruto up by his shoulders and walked him over to the nearest tree.
“Oh! What are we doing now? Are you going to show me how to climb trees quietly? I can already do that since I am a top notch ninja.” Naruto said excitedly as his back was pressed against the bark of the tree.
“Put your arms up.” Jiraiya said calmly. He did his best to hide his own smile. This would definitely tire the kid out.
“Uh, are you going to make me climb the tree backwards? I’ve never tried that before.” Naruto said, mostly to himself as his sensei wasn’t listening at all.
Jiraiya took out a piece of rope from his pocket and began tying up his new student against the tree. He could practically hear the gears turning in Naruto’s head as he tried to make sense of what Jiraiya was doing.
“Are you trying to see if I can get myself free? I totally can! Not that I would ever let myself be kidnapped like this. Being kidnapped doesn’t look good for a future Hokage like me.” Naruto said, already wiggling and struggling against the ropes. He couldn’t budge much, but Jiraiya wouldn’t doubt that the kid could get out if he really wanted to.
“You are going to have to withstand certain torture methods without relying on your nine tails power.” Jiraiya said smugly, standing back and looking over his handiwork. Naruto paled slightly.
“Uh…torture?” He squeaked out. His former energy immediately draining out as his mind went to the absolute worst torture methods that they had gone over in ninja class. Was his sensei really about to do those things to him just because he was asking for help.
Jiraiya held up a hand, seeing the panic in the kid’s face.
“Not like that, Naruto. Give me some credit as your teacher.” Jiraiya told him.
Wow, what has this kid gone through to think that someone would immediately hurt him like this? Someone that he trusted? That would have to be addressed at some point in the future.
“Now, I’m going to tell you a word, and you are going to have to keep that word a secret from me. If you tell me before I stop, then you lose and we’ll have to do some more torture training and you’ll have to leave me alone for the rest of the night.” Jiraiya said, giving Naurto a pointed look with that last statement.
“There’s no way I’ll break! I’m Naruto Uzumaki! I’m going to be the greatest Hokage in the Leaf Village!” Naruto yelled out. His confidence boosted slightly, and he couldn’t let his sensei know that he was actually kind of scared of being tortured as a form of training. Jiraiya finally smiled. An evil smile that Naruto had never really seen before.
“Naruto, are you ticklish?” Jiraiya asked.
Oh. Naruto’s smile slipped ever so slightly. How in the world was he supposed to answer something like that? No matter how he responded, he was sure to get tickled. Instead of saying anything, he instead clamped his mouth shut. This was supposed to be torture training, right? Jiraiya chuckled to himself.
“You’re already in the right mindset, Naruto. Now, the word you’re going to keep from me is Ramen.” Jiraiya said, “You can back out any time starting now. All you have to do is say that word.”
Naruto opened his mouth to say something, but decided to close it. Jiraiya couldn’t help but chuckle. This was probably the only time this kid was quiet when he wasn’t eating or sleeping. Hell, he was still loud doing both of those things. Jiraiya went ahead and began his torture.
He began wiggling his fingers near Naruto’s elbows. Naruto immediately began focusing on not laughing. His face was honestly hilarious. Naruto was glaring at an empty space in front of him, scowling with intense concentration.
“You can go ahead and say the word, Naruto.” Jiraiya hummed, moving his tickly wiggly fingers under Naruto’s arms. Small squeaks escaped Naruto’s lips and his face twitched as a smile fought to the surface.
“You seem pretty ticklish, Naruto. You should probably go ahead and say what I need to hear so that I stop.” Jiraiya hummed. Truthfully, he was enjoying this. The lack of laughter seemed like a challenge. Now he had to make him laugh. Naruto shook his head furiously. He was going to get through this. He was going to be the Hokage of the Hidden Leaf Village after all, he could withstand a few tickles.
Right?
“Oh, I almost forgot.” Jiraiya said, still tickling and occasionally pinching at Naruto’s armpit with one hand as he reached into his pocket with another. He pulled out a long purple feather and Naruto could practically feel all of his blood draining from his face.
The feather lightly danced around one underarm while Jiraiya’s other hand continued to scratch and squeeze at the other.
“Wahahahahiihihihit!” Naruto giggled, shaking his head more wildly. He couldn’t hold back his giggles and his laughter anymore. The conflicting tickly feelings were driving him up a damn wall. This was somehow worse than when Kakashi and the other members of team 7 all ganged up on him. Maybe it was because now he was purposefully holding out for a reason. Before, he would just enjoy the tickles and laugh wildly, but now he had to hold back from yelling the one word that his body was screaming for him to yell.
“Aw, that easy? Go ahead and say what I wanna hear then. Might as well since I can already tell that it’s going to get worse from here.” Jiraiya said with a shit eating grin on his face.
“NAAHAeheheahaver! Never!” Naruto laughed.
“Your funeral kid.” Jiraiya chuckled.
Next was the ribs and sides. Jiraiya began pinching up and down Naruto’s ribs and sides. With each pinch, Naruto jumped and squeaked. It seemed that Jiraiya was planning out which ribs and spots on his body were the most sensitive.
“Looks like here…. And here.” Jiraiya said, focusing on two very specific areas on Naruto’s body to attack now. One spot was the second upper rib on his left, and the other was just below his ribs on his right. Jiraiya began pinching each spot sporadically.
“AHAHAHA SENSEI! NOHOHOHO ACK!” Naruto lauched, his heels digging into the dirt and grass underneath him as his body attempted to get away from those tickly fingers. No matter how much he wiggled, he couldn’t escape. Once he realized how futile fighting would be, he let out a giggly groan.
“Ah, finally realized that you’re stuck, huh?” Jiraiya said, talking a little louder in order to be heard over all of that laughter. “Wait, why didn’t you attempt to get out sooner? You knew what was going to happen, so why wait until now to struggle?”
“Shuahahahat UP! AHA! PEheheEHEHRvy SAGE!” Naruto laughed. He squeezed his eyes shut as the tickling feelings filled his body. Those weren’t even his worst spots and he was already going crazy.
“I’m starting to think that this may not be torture to you. Do you, Naruto Uzumaki, like being tickled?” Jiraiya said. He watched as his pupil turned a very bright shade of pink. Sure, it could easily be written off as just lack of oxygen, but Jiraiya had a feeling that wasn’t the case.
“How about this. You admit that you like being tickled, and I’ll stop. The original word doesn’t count anymore.” Jiraiya said. Naruto immediately snapped his head up. He was still laughing and giggling, of course, but he was shocked.
“Never! Ihihihih’ll never fahahall for someTHIHIHIng sohhohoho stupid.” Naruto laughed, and managed to actually stick out his tongue at his sensei.
“So you really like being tickled because otherwise, you would have thought a little bit before doing that.” Jiraiya said.
Little did he know that little goes on in Naruto’s thoughts before he does anything. Oh well. The damage was done.
Jiraiya began targeting Naruto’s stomach now. The nine tails began to accept that this was how he was going to die. By the tickling hands of his sensei no less. It was all over. Goodbye Sasuke, Sakura, Kakashi. Goodbye Ichiraku Ramen – he’d miss that the most in the afterlife.
Jiraiya was a little too good at this. The feather began swirling around Naruto’s belly button. The seal of the nine tails, though hidden now, seemed to be the most sensitive place on his body. Aside from his navel of course. Once that feather dipped inside and twisted around, Naruto lost it.
“RAMEEEEN! RAMEN RAHAHAHAMEN! PLEHEHEAAAAAAAAASENOTTHEREEEE!” Naruto screeched. While it did pain him to have to give up so quickly, this kind of tickling was just unfair.
Jiraiya immediately pulled back. Even though he had changed up the rules, he didn’t want to actually kill his new student. Not yet anyways.
He untied Naruto and the blonde slumped to the ground. Jiraiya picked him up, tossing him easily over his shoulder. He walked Naruto over to his sleeping bag and set him down.
“Now, will you please go to sleep and leave me in peace?” Jiraiya asked. Naruto huffed out another laugh and curled up on his sleeping bag.
“I…still gotta…run three miles…then…I can sleep,” Naruto said between deep breaths. Jiraiya just stared at him. This boy just about had his soul tickled out of him and he still was up for a run? Three miles?
“I will never understand you, kid.” Jiraiya sighed, though he was warming up to having a student like Naruto. Maybe it would make all of the mistakes he had made in the past go away if he could do right by this crazy chaotic kid.

Portals, Clones, and Time Travel. Oh My! (Part 6)
Part 5
“I’m glad we’ve all decided to kill Hiroyuki, but we don’t know how to get to him. How are we supposed to locate him? Who knows how big this dimension is.” Sarada sighed.
Naruto tapped his chin thoughtfully, “You know what would really help?” He asked, “A bird’s-eye-view of this place.”
“Sure dobe, but how are we going to get one of those?” Sasuke smirked.
Boruto and Mitsuki looked at each other devilishly. “Wind jutsu.” Boruto cackled, “We can shoot anyone straight into the sky. I mean we’ve only done it horizontally with Sarada, but vertically can’t be that different, right?”
“Wait, so we’re going to have to rely on your probably-faulty-because-you’ve-never-tried-it wind jutsu to launch Naruto in the air? What if you kill him? Then you’ll just cease to exist!” Sakura exclaimed, throwing her hands into the air.
“What other choice do we have? We could wander aimlessly for days and probably not find Hiroyuki’s abode.” Sasuke replied, siding with Naruto for once.
“I suppose you have a point.” Sakura admitted, finally capitulating to Naruto, “Who wants to be the test subject? I don’t think Naruto’s the best choice.”
Sarada looked around thoughtfully, “It can’t be Boruto or Mitsuki since they’re performing the jutsu, and neither you nor Naruto have good enough vision.”
“So you’re saying it has to be either me or you.” Sasuke concluded. “I’m not doing it.”
“Why do you get to disqualify yourself like that?” Sarada retorted, placing her hands on her hips.
“Because I don’t trust mini-dobe.”
“You’re lying.”
Sasuke looked away uncomfortably. He had been caught in a lie by his future daughter. “Fine.” He spit out, “It’s because your sharingan is more developed than mine.”
Sarada smirked victoriously. She had finally gotten the Sasuke Uchiha to admit one of his shortcomings to her. Exciting. “I suppose I’ll do it then.”
Boruto and Mitsuki stood in the middle of the clearing, Sarada standing between them, her body poised.
“We’ll try not to kill you Sarada-chan.” Boruto said, cracking his neck.
“Yes Sarada-hime. We will be sure to not end your life.” Mitsuki added on, nodding in agreement.
“Why’d you call me ‘Sarada-hime’?” Sarada asked, looking quizzically at Mitsuki.
“It is proper to treat someone with utmost respect before you possibly take their life-correct?”
“Absolutely not!” Boruto exclaimed, “Where the fuck’d you hear that?!”
“My parent.”
Sarada and Boruto groaned. “Just launch me in the air, would ya?” Sarada sighed, activating her sharingan.
“Let’s do this then.” Boruto and Mitsuki quickly weaved the hand-signs for the jutsu. “Brace yourself Sarada!”
Sarada shot up like a rocket, flying over the trees and into the blue sky. From her absurdly high vantage point, she was able to make out a dark building in the west edge of the expansive forest.
“There’s some fort-building thing on the west edge!” She exclaimed, praying that her teammates would hear her. After relaying her message, she turned until she was spread-eagle in the air, waiting for the ground to come closer so her teammates could lower her down with wind jutsu. As the ground came nearer, she noticed that the clearing wasn’t directly below her now. In fact, her teammates were at least several hundred feet away from her approximate alighting point.
“Damn it!” She cried, the ground coming nearer and nearer. She didn’t know what to do as there were mere seconds before she hit the ground and probably hurt herself. She tensed her muscles and hardened her body for the inevitable painful impact, hoping that she would somehow manage to survive the fall.
“Mitsuki, Boruto!” Sakura shrieked, “Sarada’s not above us anymore!”
“What do you mean?!” Boruto replied urgently, scanning the sky. His eyes caught a flash of quickly falling red. “Shit! She’s gonna fall before I get there, what do I do?!” He began to sprint towards her.
“Uh, I don’t know!” Sakura panicked, worrying that her future daughter was about to perish before her eyes, “Try to cushion her fall from where you are!”
“It won’t do enough!”
“But it’ll do something!” Tears pricked at the edge of Sakura’s eyes, but she willed them not to fall. She berated herself for watching someone dear to her get hurt and do nothing but watch and cry. More than anything, she wanted to not be a hindrance, but her teammates were just so damn strong and fast, what was she supposed to do?
3...2…. Sarada suddenly felt a strong gust of wind soften the still-painful fall. She breathed a sigh of relief before succumbing to the pain and falling unconscious.
“Is she alive?” Sasuke asked, panic leaking into his voice.
Sakura put her hand to Sarada’s jugular and gave a relieved nod. “I think she broke some bones, but I don’t know how to fix them!” She looked at Sarada’s ankle, bent in a way no ankle should bend. If she didn’t fix it, Sarada wouldn’t be able to walk, much less fight.
“In our time, you’re a really badass healer.” Boruto said, looking worriedly at Sarada, “Maybe you could try to heal her?”
“I don’t know how it’s done!” Sakura cried, “Sure I’ve read a couple texts, but they’re mostly just on basic first aid. I don’t know how to fix something of this caliber.”
“Are you sure it’s just broken bones?” Sasuke inquired, “I mean, she’s unconscious right?”
“She could’ve passed out from the pain of breaking so many bones. It’s not necessarily brain damage.” Sakura replied, inspecting Sarada’s body. “So the ankle is definitely broken. Along with the right wrist and a couple others in the same arm. I’m not entirely sure about the ribs, but I can suspect some of them were at least bruised upon contact.”
“She seems pretty damn beat up.” Naruto muttered, grimacing at her bruised body, “At least we know where that Hiroyuki bastard is hiding.”
“That is true.” Sasuke agreed, “The problem is that we can’t do anything if Sarada can’t walk or fight. We can’t afford for her to be a deadweight.”
“I’ll try to fix what I can.” Sakura announced, “I’m not experienced in any right, but I can set the bones and hopefully speed up the healing process. I doubt I have the chakra to do anything substantial though.”
“I’ll lend you some.” Sasuke looked Sakura dead in the eye. “She is..” he hesitated, “our daughter after all.”
Sakura wanted to squeal with satisfaction, but she made the decision that there were better times to show her fangirl side. “Alright.” She said firmly, “Let’s get started then.”
Sakura kneeled by Sarada’s side and began with her ankle, since there’d be no point in healing the other bones if she couldn’t walk. “Mitsuki, Naruto, Boruto,” she started, “hold her down. This is going to be painful.”
Once Sarada was securely pinned to the ground, Sakura took a deep breath. She remembered what she had read in the medical textbooks: always begin to pull slowly. If the bone is out of place, the muscles have likely tightened around it. If you pull quickly, the muscles will tighten more; if you pull slowly, you can loosen the muscles and ease the bone back into place.
Sakura began the procedure, slowly moving the ankle into its proper position. She saw Sarada’s face contort in pain, even in her unconscious state, and hoped that she wouldn’t wake up during the healing session.
Once Sakura was satisfied with the positioning, she motioned for Sasuke to sit next to her.
“I’m going to begin the healing jutsu now.” She said with as much confidence as she could muster, “I’m going to need your chakra.”
Sasuke nodded and placed his hands on Sakura’s back. Her body shuddered with the sudden rush of chakra and she began to heal. She focused her chakra on the fracture, closing her eyes and navigating the limb. Sakura was amazed at the way she could see the bone using only her chakra. “Okay. I’m going to try and stitch the bone back together.” She willed her chakra to meld the separated bones together. She could feel the fibers moving towards each other like magnets, finally meeting in the middle and weaving together until they were whole again. Sakura basked in the feeling of successes, her cheeks flushed with happiness as she realized what she had done.
“I did it.” She whispered breathlessly, “I fixed something. I really, truly fixed something!”
“I believed in you the whole time Sakura-chan!” Naruto exclaimed, “Now onto the next bone!”
Sakura nodded. “How are your chakra levels holding up?” She looked at Sasuke.
“They’re fine.” He replied, “Keep going.”
“I don’t have to set the bones in that arm, but I still have to be careful to not hurt Sarada.”
She cradled Sarada’s arm gently, inspecting the breaks. She sighed with relief when she realized that they weren’t particularly serious and easier to heal than the ankle. Sakura took a deep breath, channeling Sasuke’s chakra through her own system. She realized how rough his chakra was compared to hers; as if hers was made for healing and creating, and his for destroying.
“Alright, moving onto the next break.” She announced, willing her hands to glow a soft green. It was easier this time, but she still couldn’t control the flesh and bone the way she wished she could. She figured that she would need a whole lot more training before she would be able to perform this procedure with ease.
Once she felt satisfied with her work, she leaned back and took several deep breaths. Even though Sasuke was lending her chakra, the act of transferring it and controlling it was rather taxing.
“Are you okay?” Sasuke inquired, taking his hands off Sakura’s back, “She’s not dying anymore.”
“I’m fine.” Sakura insisted, “I’m going to fix every bone in her body.”
Naruto admired Sakura’s resolve. The past 24 hours had really changed the kunoichi; she had started as the Sasuke obsessed fangirl that constantly hit and criticized Naruto and had metamorphosed into a strong, determined medic.
“You’re really fucking awesome Sakura-chan.” Naruto said, and he really, really meant it.
A/N: BAHAHA! IT’S THE NEW CHAPTER! Yeah, I hope y’all are as excited as I am. Anyway, sorry for the brevity, I just wanted to get this over with so I could start the chapters leading in to the climax. Good news! I have a clear view for the ending of this fic, meaning that it won’t be one of those ‘forever WIPs’.
How do y’all think that Sakura’s early start on medical ninjutsu will change her future? Do you think it will change it at all? Comment your opinions!
Since I never formally said it, the pairings are as follows: Sasusaku (of course, as it’s my OTP), Mitsu-no one (that boy is NOT up for a relationship, Borusara (I was leaning a bit towards Mitsusara for a hot second there, but Borusara takes the cake), and NaruHina (you probably won’t see Hinata, but the pairing will be heavily implied).
Please read and like and shit. Support is good!
