Tumgik
#but sometimes when i feel silly ill stick them in a dress and makeup for a change
Note
okay so i do kind of get that but i want their voices omg what i would do to be a tenor
i’m an alto but i have a natural deep voice anyway!!
i do actually like my voice and stuff i would just love to be able to play a dude PROPERLY
i played eugene in grease and so many of my lines got cut, and i couldn’t really be myself in the role because i was so focused on making it perfect
that’s why i wanna play crutchie or jesse tuck because i feel like i could truly be myself in those roles !! but roles i don’t know anything about make me feel even worse
i genuinely cried and purposefully missed cues when i was in grease because i hated my role that much
BUT IVE COME TO TERMS WITH IT!!
i also really wanna perform as crutchie so i can do letter from the refuge my friends all say that they love my cover of it and i can never get enough of him i literally hyperfixate on him so i could play him SO WELL
Sorry tangent on how awful i felt in grease x
i also happily play female roles but i like playing male roles cause i’m more masc presenting
rant all you want shawty!! i had similar experiences in my highschool theater class, we had one boy and like 14 girls(and then me lmao) and i was the only one with a wide enough vocal range to play both? so we did beauty and the beast one year, and that was the year we FINALLY had two boys, so they (of course) got gaston and beast. well, yours truly got lefou, but my (very christian) teacher made me wear a ton of makeup and almost made me wear a dress (argued my way outta that one) so i got to play a guy's part, but it was still an iffy experience because the rest of the cast was rly annoying abt it
anywhizzle
i was in a production of joseph and the amazing technicolor dreamcoat last year, and i was one of josephs brothers along with another girl(who was The Most Annoying Person On The Planet istg) again because of the lack of boys
that theater had a better supply of guys but still not nearly enough
so i had like three singing lines, right? all pretty far down in my vocal range but i was proud of myself for being able to do it
and one of those lines the girl 'brother' (who insisted on wearing makeup and a dress for the production) spoke immediately after me, so how it went in rehearsals and even the actual shows:
me: says line
her: physically like SHOVES me aside to be CENTER F-ING STAGE which we werent supposed to do and says her line in the most annoying enthusiastic falsetto ive ever heard, and her line was something about starving😭😭
and im a soprano, and i can go weirdly low for a soprano but WHAT I WOULDNT GIVE TO BE A TENOR
j would give up my left leg and also my spleen if it meant i could be a tenor
like most of my dream theater roles are guys
and i would be happy to play a gal's part!! but like
only if its on my terms? like if audition for a bunch of guy parts and maybe one girl part, and i get the girl part? like i get that casting a wholeass musical/play can be difficult with only so many peopl and even fewer guys, but youd think that the ratio of guys to girls(and others) would raise my chances of being a guy?
idk i have so many thoughts abt this
and the voice thing OMLLLLL
like literally any time i listen to one of my favorite actors speak im like 'sir can i B L E A SE HAVE YOUR VOICE'
or even just some of the guys ive interacted with in everyday life
like do you know how many times a cashier's voice has made me want to cry because its so deep/melodic/beautiful/masculine???

Joker & I
Being Joker’s Girl
Joker x Y/N, Joker x Reader
Summary: You spotted Joker dancing down the stairs, and were forever smitten with him...he’s broken out...what will happen now.
You woke up with a start. Your heart was racing and were out of breath. You dreamt that the cops had pinched Joker again. It made you feel lost.
Looking beside you, he was still soundly asleep. He was on his back, his make-up smudged from their passions. You could only imagine how your face looked. Sitting there, the moonlight had crawled in and your eyes adjusted. Now, you could look at him, and not worry about him catching you, you finally took in a few of his scars. They saddened you, during the course of his trial you found out that his mother had let him be abused. What woman could do that?
Feeling thirsty, you carefully got up, grabbing his t-shirt and retrieving a pair of his pajama pants you made it to the kitchen and poured yourself some juice in one of the new cups.
Going back to his room, you closed the door and sat in his chair sipping the juice. He had rolled over to his side, the other night when he had done that he had pulled her close.
“Y/N,” you barely could hear him say your name. You actually had thought, he had just murmured in his deep sleep. “Y/N, where ...?” He asked and patted your side of the mattress.
You put your mug down and went over. “I’m here....I’m here.”
Strands of his hair were in his face as he looked up in the direction of her voice.
In his half sleep cloaked face, he looked so lost. You slipped back out of his pants and crawled back beside him. “There you are.”
He slightly leaned against you as he pulled you close to his side. “I’m here.” You say softly, then you take one of his hands and kiss his palm.
Laying back down, he rested his head on your chest, inhaling deeply all you could smell his special scent, it made you both happy and excited. You let your fingers drift through his strands before exhaustion once again weighed heavily on you and it consumed you.
When you awoke again, thunder erupted in the sky above. A familiar chuckle, filled your ears after. “Morning, Red. It appears a little thunderstorm startles you.”
You rub one your eyes, yawning. “Only because I didn’t expect it.” You smiled as you saw Joker watching you, much like you had the night before.
“That is a good point, to be fair.” He seemed to just seemed to soaking you in. “I have some good news, the boys are not here at the moment, we have the house to ourselves.”
Delight coursed through you. Not till he said it did you realize how much you wanted time with just him, not wanting to worry about any of them.
“So I want you to come with me.”
You stretched under him, then smiled. “Alright, what are we doing?”
“Let’s wash off last night.” He chuckled again, “you’re just like a kitten after sleeping all day.” He smiled.
“Ok.” Getting up, you followed him to the bathroom. A bath was drawn.
Looking in the mirror, you giggled. Your hair was wild like a lion’s mane his makeup, your own makeup was a smear of colors.
Gently, you stepped in and Joker stepped in and sat with on the edge. He grabbed some of the wash. Soon naturally, he washed up your arms and back. You grabbed some soap and washed your face you opened one eye, “did get it all?”
“Look towards me.” Then with gentle hands he washed your face and rinsed it. “There we go, now your hair.” You sighed enjoying his fingers in your hair as he washed and rinsed it.
You looked at him over your shoulder. “Your turn.”
When you came across the first scar you gave it a kiss. “Y/N.” He finally said.
You met his eyes, “The past is where it is. We opened a new chapter in our lives, yesterday. Leave that one closed.”
“It will be hard.” He swallowed. “A half smiled crooked upward. “I will try.”
“Good.”
The water turned green as you washed and rinsed his dark strands. Draining it out, you both grabbed towels. “I am so glad we bought these.” You saw him take out a razor and shaving cream. Kissing his shoulder, you went back to his room and got dressed in the new dress you bought while you were in Gotham’s market enjoying the spoils from the banks. You tidied the blankets and pillows so it looked like a made bed once again. You put out the clothes for him to wear while you went around to but stuff for the hideout.
Drawing your hair up into a ponytail, you stopped by the bathroom to find him shaving the shadow that had darkened his face. “I will make us some breakfast.”
He met your eyes in the mirror and nodded. “Sounds good.”
Distantly, you heard him discuss with someone about meeting at the Galleria in Metropolis. You had only been there once and at night. Would be nice to go there and get out of Gotham.
You went about putting on some coffee, taking out a pot you warmed some milk for the oatmeal he always seemed to have on hand, and brought out a few cookies that the men had not inhaled.
“What is this???” You heard Joker, call outrage filled his voice. “I said, “What is this?”
You turned and squeezed your lips together so not to laugh. He was holding up the baseball cap and the tshirt for the Gotham Gators.
You shrugged, “You need to blend in when we go to the mall.”
His eyes narrowed at you. “Good idea. But I will not like wearing this stuff.” Sometime later he came out in jeans and the items.
“Damn,” Was all you could say, you went over and put the oatmeal and his cup of coffee. “Here you go.”
He shook his head. “How do people wear these?” He pulled off the baseball cap.
You shrugged and sat next to him with your own breakfast.
“Y/N, I was wondering, can you drive?”
You nodded. “My uncle made sure despite living here in Gotham, that I always knew how to take care of myself. So I know how to drive stick and standard. Why?”
Joker, now shrugged. “Maybe you can show me one day.”
****
“What the fuck are you wearing boss?” Paul asked once he twirled a seat around and joined them at the table. He eyed the baseball cap.
Joker, looked at him annoyance splashed across his face. “It’s a disguise.”
“Oh.” He paused and shook his head. “So how are we doing this today?”
Joker, took a deep sip of his coffee. “We’re driving with you to Metropolis. Henry and Michael are bringing their vans for us to fill up. We then come back here.”
Paul, nodded. “That’s solid.”
****
“Ever been to Metropolis boss?”
Joker shook his head. “Never had an interest.”
Paul, looked back at you, the look gave you chills. You still didn’t like what he did to you when he broke out Joker. You were nice to him, since he helped Joker escape.
“Only at night, I drove through it with my uncle for a gig.”
“Well, it’s like Gotham only cleaner.” He shrugged. “Their newspaper is huge there.” He smiled to himself. “One of their reporters is especially nice on the eyes.”
****
Umph, you let out a heavy sigh as you helped pushed in the box for the ottoman then that was followed by boxes for a few tables, a tv, a few bed frames including the one that would be for Joker’s bed. In the other van, it was filled with lamps, chairs, appliances and a few rolled up carpets.
****
You were happy to say that Joker and had let you wander about a bit in doing so you got him some things. Lastly, she grabbed a few things that she could keep there. Those bags you stowed in the back seat where you sat in Paul’s car. When you were done putting the bags there you gasped as you found Joker seating again in the passenger seat. “Are we leaving?” You had not heard him.
“Soon.”
You went over to Joker’s side of the car. You saw him handling a gun. Which he then quickly stowed back in the glove compartment of Paul’s car. You raised, your eyebrows. “Everything ok?”
“Yes.” He took a step so that he right in front of you. Reaching behind you, he pulled out the ponytail. He smiled as your hair fell in waves around your shoulders. “I like your hair down.”
You smiled up at him. “I prefer it that way too.” Bringing a finger under your chin he tilted your face up more, and he gave you a quick kiss.
“If you are ever unhappy, you tell me alright?” You nod. “Good.”
****
You couldn’t get over the long empty stretches of road between Gotham and Metropolis. There were not even farms.
“Paul, can you pull over?”
“Sure thing boss.”
With a rumble and a crunch of gravel the car came to a stop.
“Y/N, why didn’t you put your bags in the trunk?”
You couln’t help but shrug.
“Paul, can you put Y/N’a bags in the trunk?”
Paul, looked at him and then you, he shrugged. You climbed out and helped take out the bags. “Y/N, you are not so bad.” Paul said to you.
“Thank you.” In you he uncoiled a very ill at ease feeling. You didn’t want or need his approval.
A loud crack, made you jump and scream without even thinking. You opened your eyes, which you had not realized you had closed. Your heart was racing. Despite being in that silly t-shirt but the jeans and dark shoes, he looked good. He finally lowered his hand. Then it dawned on you. Looking down, you saw Paul dead at your feet.
“You killed him.” You looked between Paul and Joker.
A wicked grin curled his lips. “I did.” He tucked the gun behind him. “I did not like how he treated you when he broke me out.”
“I didn’t either.” Without thinking, you immediately went along side Paul’s body and pushed it. Pushing it again, it finally rolled on its own accord and disappeared down the embankment.
His grinned widened even more. “Come here kitten.” He beckoned to you, you dusted your hands off and happily went over.
He put his arms around you, “I told you, your mine.” He looked down and wrapped his arms around you. “No one will ever treat you badly ever again.” He crushed his lips into yours then.

Needing a wee break from actual story telling I have decided to share little fact sheets about a few of my characters (existing as well as OC).
I have put all under a read more for possible spoilers for things to come. There are spoilers if you haven’t read fics from my What’s This? A Ghost Series collection.
My OC Syver Andersson:
(contains mentions of abuse. not detailed.)
Full name: Syver Robin Andersson
Species: Human
Date of Birth: 17 February 1978
Place of Birth: Chicago, Illinois USA
Height: 5 foot 6
Sexuality: Pansexual
Relationship status: In a long time, committed relationship with Dante Emeritus
Notable features: Their bright, often changing hair color.
Eye color: Blue
Hair color: It varies, but naturally it’s a very dark shade of dirty blonde. They like to dye it shades of red, blue and black most often.
Piercings: Two nipple piercings. Typically they use barbells but will swap it to rings on occasion.
Tattoos: a small, poorly designed rose on the inside of their left ankle. Most of the color has faded out. They have no plans to cover it or get it fixed up.
Typical style: Comfortable. Syver values comfort over fashion. They can be seen most often in skinny jeans and loose fitting tops. They love sweaters in the winter and tank tops in the summer. Identifying as nonbinary, they don’t stick to typical gender roles, dressing in whatever strikes their fancy that morning. When it comes time to be more formal, they clean up nicely and prefer skirts or dresses to a nice pair of pants, but will wear either. Their hair is just around shoulder length and they typically leave it loose. It’s rare that they go out without a little eyeliner, but don’t usually take the time to do up a full face of makeup.
Personality traits: Syver is incredibly shy and often awkward. They get emotional quite easily, either acting out or shutting down. They’re quick to trust, but more often than not that lead to them being manipulated and/or mistreated. They apologize for everything, a habit they struggle to break. They are kind, generous and careful to treat others in a way they want to be treated. They have a fun and wild streak but are quite reserved overall. They live in a constant state of worry that people are mad at them, caused by growing up in an emotionally and mentally abusive situation.
Parents: Their father is Mikael Andersson and the two have a close relationship despite being half a world apart. Their mother was Angelina Andersson, who passed away when Syver was 29. They had a tense relationship, no hatred but they did not get along once Syver grew up.
Siblings: A sister, Lykke Rosa Andersson, who is three years younger. They no longer speak, as she was the main abuser in Syver’s life.
Other noted relatives: a nephew, whom they never met and know nothing about
Pets: it would be fair to say that Cassandra, Dante’s python, is also theirs. Since moving in with Dante, they became fond of the friendly snake.
Occupation: Syver is currently between jobs. Formerly they were a Sibling of Sin at the Emeritus Church, working on restoration in the library.
Hobbies: They adore coloring, painting, doodling, any kind of visual arts even if they lack the talent to be any good at it. They enjoy reading and listening to audiobooks. In private, they sometimes like to throw on silly pop songs to dance around. For a while they collected hand painted texts, but gave up when it became too expensive.
Favorite color: Green (but not neon, they hate neon green)
Favorite food: slightly undercooked pasta with cream sauce
Favorite movie: Romeo + Juliet and Moulin Rouge are tied at the top of Syver’s list.
Favorite song: overall it’s Life on Mars by David Bowie. To let loose and dance around to, it’s Flytta på je by Alina Devecerski (but don’t call it a guilty pleasure).
3 likes: lame jokes, vodka tonics, the quiet of an empty library
3 dislikes: being yelled at, extremely cold weather, overly seeded wheat bread
6 Random facts:
- Syver had been engaged to marry who they thought was the one until they caught her lying about everything, including but not limited to her loyalty.
- They are afraid of heights and get physically ill if they look down from too far up.
- Syver can speak Swedish and English perfectly. They can get by with a lot of Italian but they struggle with it. They can read Latin but cannot speak it.
- They grew up with parents on two different continents, yet managed to see both often.
- Syver was once left behind in Germany, without enough money to get home.
- Syver dislikes the feel of body hair on their own body and goes to extremes to ensure they keep up with removing it.

A big bang of “how to” stuff
Tumblr media
There I was again tonight forcing laughter faking smiles so I made up this long ass post for y'all!
So you a potato. Me a potato. World conquered by we potatoes. But potato need survival tips. So your brotato (get it? Bro potato?) help you out. Yay potato. Go go potato.
Study related stuff :
Tumblr media
1. Get good grades
Catch concepts, not chapters. Your portion is most likely gonna be super vast, so it’s helpful to know a little something from every chapter rather than knowing just 50% of your syllabus.
Figure out which concepts are important and master them.
Keep all assignments completed at least 1 day before submission date. This isn’t always possible but trust me if you do this you’re guaranteeing marks for proper submission. Job done early? Proof check and add touches to enhance that essay!
Let the teachers know that you’re working hard. I actually passed math because my math teacher knew I was working super hard on my math skills. Participate in the class, gather a bunch of doubts and then dump them on your teacher when the chapter ends.
Try not to miss lectures because chances are you’ll remember that silly mnemonic your friend made up in class and get the answer correct.
Analysis of your exam type is super important. Want me to make a long ass post about it?
2. Be more productive
Having a stuydjo/bujo by your side helps hella lot.
Plan plan plan. Lists, organise lists and colour code them. Basically become Monica Geller Bing and you’re set for life.
Motivational quotes from pinterest almost make me guilty for not being productive and force me to do something.
Before starting your study session, dance around to upbeat music for like 5 minutes. You’ll see the difference I promise.
Seek out inspiration from your smart friends /tumblr friends /people you look up to by constantly reminding yourself about them. I always think of hermione granger because even randomly picturing her with books in my mind ignites that badass boss feeling complying me to study tf up.
3. Manage your time
Studyjo/bujo saves your life.
Wear a watch all the damn time, it will remind you of how much time you’re spending doing nothing. You’ll end up saving several extra minutes!
List out what you’re gonna do every hour of the day on a sticky note and refer to it when you feel lazy.
Get a super nice friend /parent /sibling who will constantly remind you to utilise your time.
Think of time as currency and pretend that it’s all a game where you need to save up as much money as you can to become a billionaire. Save up your time and become rich af.
4. Avoid procrastinating
Stduyjo/bujo again. You know the drill now.
A little bit of exercise before starting work generally works you up and sets the correct mood.
Knowing how ahead your friends are from you often makes you wanna catch up so try getting that motivation.
Set goals + rewards that actually matter to you. Maybe a face care spa day isn’t your thing but munching on a snickers bar is. Treat yo self.
Tell someone a detailed plan of what you are going to accomplish the next day. Now whenever you see that person you’ll want to prove to them that you’re doing what you promised. Or the guilt may drive you too.
Appearance related stuff :
Tumblr media
1. Look more put together
Try the lipstick trick. There are days when you do not have the time /want to put on makeup, so just put on a lipstick that matches your outfit and you’ll automatically create an illusion of being more put together, boss af and fabulous.
Try out cheap (potato can’t afford sorry) but elegant accessories. If it’s a necklace try tucking it under the collar of your shirt and see the magic. Stick to one staple accessory that’s gonna be your trademark.
Tame that mane potato. Your hair isn’t gonna detangle itself. You gotta do it. I mean, don’t you love your hair?
Minimalistic colours rock. Some outfits never go old like flannels or white shirts or black dresses.
2. Feel beautiful
The lipstick does the trick for me.
Putting my hair in a sky high ponytail makes me feel like I’m a queen or something.
Save little compliments for yourself as reminders and when you get them you’ll feel 10x more beautiful than before.
Mind related stuff :
Tumblr media
1. Deal with burnout/slump
Try to accomplish super tiny stuff. Break down every task into micromolecular basics.
Give yourself a ted talk. It works.
Sometimes the best way of dealing with burnout is by detoxing from the thing that caused burnout. Stay away form books and after some time you’ll actually want to study.
2. Study with slumps/mental illness
Step one is to finish homework /assignments. If you can concentrate on them, you’re good to go.
Do not take up a lot of load, just skimming through textbooks, reviewing notes, going over flashcards should do the trick.
If you desperately need to get shit done, just ignore the fact that you do not want to do it. It’s harsh on your mind but desperate times require desperate measures.
Avoid forcing yourself to study because you’ll not retain info like that.
Take it easy. But consistently. Maybe just one topic a day. But do not miss a day. A steady everyday practice goes long way in the future.
3. Strengthen self control
There are several apps that can help you with this, like forest. My top pick is the Tide app which has a gorgeous interface and super aesthetic timers with new pictures everyday. I shit you not every time I quit my pomodoro I feel the guilt of having killed 1000 puppies its worse and I avoid doing that at all costs.
If you study in your room, keep your phone in the kitchen for some time. Your lazy ass is less likely to get up and use the phone.
Switching the phone off before starting a study session works because I care for my phone like a baby and it feels horrible to switch it on and off and on and off.
Practice 30 minutes of digital detox everyday. You don’t have to study at that time, just stay away from everything that is technology. Read and book, eat a fruit, make a sandwich, paint, sing, dance, exercise. Study if you want. Just no gadgets.
4. Deal with stress
Yoga works. Potato body ain’t that flexible so just breathing exercises for a start is also enough.
Highly recommended : brain dump every night before sleeping can ensure that you’ll not stay up too late pondering over the meaning of your existence and world politics.
Having a hearty talk with someone you trust will also lift weight off your chest.
Pin point the cause of your stress and annihilate the problem. Slay it.
Life related stuff :
Tumblr media
1. Drink more water
Carry a cool ass bottle of water with you every frigging where.
Make it a rule to have a drink everytime you go to the loo or you take a bath /shower.
Replace one of your daily caffeines /sugars with water. You don’t have to get rid of coffee because that’s just non potato ish, but maybe that third cup could be replaced with water.
Try a game thingy. Maybe everytime the word ‘procrastination’ pops in your mind take a drink. Wow, I’m so creative *sighs for eternities*.
2. Be more healthy
5 minute stretches right after getting up works you up.
Try one of those YouTube videos of 15 minute workouts. You can have 3 such workouts through the day and call yourself a fit potato.
Replacing one packet of junk food with nuts/fruits also works.
Everytime you hear someone say something related to money, have a banana. Random much? Nope, bananas are known to increase hormones that make you happy in your body, meaning you’ll feel full and happy. Maybe offer the person a banana too.
3. Be more happy
Eat bananas!
Take pictures of things you love, not things your followers love.
Puppies are a source of eternal joy.
Reading goofy/cheesy/romance books make you giggle and feel good in general.
Watching cheesy films or good ass romcoms works just well.
Friends was created for a reason.
Writing down what you accomplished today gives a sense of pride and satisfaction. Take that shit.
Tumblr has shitposts made basically to make you happy.
4. Find your true calling /figuring tf out what you wanna do with your life
Lists lists lists. Subjects you love, you hate, you’re good at, you suck at.
Consulting your teachers, family etc and find out what they think you’re good at. Sometimes other people can see traits of yours better than you.
Career tests rock.
You’ll figure it out in the end somehow.
And that’s about it for now folks, hope this helps. See y'all laterz~

1.
Contrary to what Iwaizumi thought, you hadn't tripped because you were drunk.
In fact, you've only had one drink the whole night, and even as much of a light weight as you are, it wasn't enough to get you as fucked up as you appear.
You're not drunk. What you are is a klutz. And a nervous one at that.
And who could blame you, really? Ever since your friends had invited you to the game you'd been working yourself up into a frenzy. You'd spent hours wrangling your hair into what you hoped looked like a more sleek, mature style, and then spent time applying a full face of makeup.
All to spectate at a volleyball game.
Truthfully, you could barely even focus on the game. Save for the moments when a scored point drew your attention back to the court, your eyes repeatedly drifted to the sideline: to a head of spiky brown hair, to broad shoulders covered by a fitted black Team Japan polo, the sleeves of which barely fit around thick, toned arms.
You popped another stick of gum into the growing wad in your mouth--much to your friends' amusement--and tried not to get caught staring.
What were your friends even thinking, bringing you here? The last time they'd invited you to a game, Iwaizumi had immediately caught your attention across the court. You'd apparently not been subtle when asking your friends about him, and they'd set to work getting intel from their significant others on the team. Besides learning Iwaizumi's name and the fact that he was the national team's athletic trainer, you'd learned that he made a habit of stretching the players out and that he was, according to Komori, "super single."
You wondered if anyone would have volunteered this information if they knew how much you'd been creeping, you thought, as you watched yet another JNT clip online in the hopes of seeing Iwaizumi on the sidelines.
It was different watching him work for a whole game, talking to the players during technical timeouts, helping to reapply Ushijima's KT tape, checking Sakusa's wrists and guiding him through some stretches when they seemed to bother him. Even from here you could sense the strong, reliable presence he had, the reassuring vibes he gave the whole team.
You leaned over and asked your friend if she was sure Iwaizumi was joining you all at the club after the game. She laughed at the eager look on your face and said yes, told you not to worry.
"I'm not worried," you'd said, popping yet another stick of gum.
That was hours ago, by now. After you insisted on getting a picture with the Vabo-chan mascot, smiling wide and throwing up a silly peace sign, your group had made its way to the club. You opted for a caipirinha, since the taste of minty gum still lingered in your mouth anyway, and sat at a high table with some friends while the rest made their way to the dance floor.
Iwaizumi is dressed far more casually by the time he arrives, dark buttoned shirt over boot cut jeans and a military-style jacket. His eyes glance around until he sees Suna, Komori, and Issei waving him over and begins making his way over to your table. After daps with the guys he knew, he greeted the one friend of yours he'd met before, who raised her brows as she gestured to you and introduced you to Iwaizumi.
God, but he has nice teeth, you think as he smiles brightly at you. He moves to shake your hand, but you remember your friends' advice from earlier and decide to be brave. When he gets closer, instead of shaking his hand, you place one hand on his shoulder and move in to kiss his cheek in greeting. You hope it's smooth, like your friends promised it would be, and not weird or presumptuous or awkward like your brain is screaming at you. You hope Iwaizumi can't feel or see your hand shaking as you pull it away from his shoulder and force it onto your lap under the table. "It's nice to meet you," you say, swallowing as you pull back, trying not to think about how good he smells--like some mixture of patchouli and cedar.
He blinks at you a few times, resting his hand on the table. "You too," he says, and you immediately take a long sip of your drink, draining the rest of it and setting the glass down. "I'm about to go grab a drink, if you wanna come with and get a refill." He gestures to the empty glass.
For a moment you panic, glancing desperately at your friends, who look at you with wide eyes and make shooing motions at you. You look back at Iwaizumi, who gives you an expectant look, and nod, hopping off your seat.
You knew he was taller than you, objectively, but this is the first time you've been close enough to appreciate the eight or so inches he has on you as he leads the way through the crowd towards the bar. Occasionally he glances back to make sure you're still with him, but you're barely 5'5" with your boots on and sometimes the crowd swallows you easily. When this happens, Iwaizumi lightly grasps your elbow with one big, strong hand and guides you through the club until you're at the bar.
It takes a few minutes for the two of you to get the bartender's attention, after which Iwaizumi orders whiskey, "and whatever she's having," he says, taking out his wallet. You open your mouth to object, but he waves you off immediately, gesturing to the waiting bartender. You order a soda, to which Iwaizumi frowns as the bartender gets to work.
"You can get another drink if you want," he says, and you shake your head.
"I actually don't drink much," you tell him, recalling the way you'd passed on the tray of shots your friends had bought earlier. Iwaizumi nods but doesn't ask why, which you appreciate, and soon the bartender is setting your soda down on a napkin in front of you. You nod your thanks and take the glass.
You and Iwaizumi linger by the bar for a few minutes, not in any hurry to return to the group as you talk, as much as you can over the noise of the club, anyway. He asks how you met your friends who are now dating his friends, and you laugh and say that it's a long story.
Iwaizumi smiles, his glass pressing against his bottom lip.
"I've got time," he says, then drinks.
Sometimes he leans in to hear you better over the noise, until you're nearly talking directly into his ear and you can smell his cologne again. He tells you about how he's known Issei since high school, how he works with Suna and Komori, and you nod as if this is new information.
You're still only halfway through your explanation of how you came to know your friends when one of them bounds over to you, fresh off the dance floor. She greets you enthusiastically, getting the bartender's attention and ordering another shot as she introduces herself to Iwaizumi and side eyes you maybe a bit too obviously. You hope the look you give her conveys both your immediate panic and your begging her to not say anything, without being too obvious to Iwaizumi.
After downing her shot, your friend takes your hand, insisting you join her and her boyfriend for at least a few songs. You glance quickly between her and Iwaizumi, who's in the middle of getting another drink, wondering if you should ask him to join you. Before you can, you're being whisked away, and you look back at Iwaizumi, who laughs and lifts his glass in your direction before he disappears from your sight.
You've never been much of a dancer--at all--but you feel a bit braver with your friends nearby and hidden in a crowd. You can pick up a beat and move with it if you need to, and for once you decide to let yourself roll with it and have fun, somewhat hoping that Iwaizumi is watching.
The trip happens as you're returning to the table. It looks like some of your friends have left for the night, but a couple remain, and as you exit the dance floor you spot them with Iwaizumi, Issei, and Komori. Iwaizumi is sitting where you were before, laughing at something Issei says with one hand on his chest. He's got a good laugh, you think, making your way over.
Flushed and giddy as you are from dancing, you're sure that you probably do look drunk. But the only thing that trips you up is your own clumsy feet, your boots catching on the steps leading up to the seating area. You put your hands out to brace yourself, your body well practiced in minimizing fall damage, but instead of hitting the floor, they're caught by a pair of strong, sturdy arms.
"Whoa, careful there," Iwaizumi says, letting you cling to his arms as you right yourself and regain your balance. "Are you alright?"
You nod, staring up at his wide, sincere eyes. "I'll be fine. Just clumsy."
Iwaizumi's mouth twists in a frown. "Are you sure? I can take you home, if you're not feeling well."
You can feel your flush spreading to your ears. Truthfully, you're not feeling well, though probably not for the reasons Iwaizumi is thinking. You're not physically ill, not feeling dizzy or nauseous or anything like that, but you can feel your social battery rapidly depleting in this club setting, and more than anything you'd like to get home to your cats.
Still, you shake your head. "It feels like you just got here, I can't ask you to do that," you say, and Iwaizumi waves you off, already reaching for his jacket on the back of the chair and nodding towards Issei.
"You didn't ask," he says, putting one hand on your elbow again to guide you to the exit. "I offered."
Once you're out on the sidewalk, Iwaizumi offers to get you a taxi, but you tell him you'd been planning on walking since your place isn't terribly far. Iwaizumi nods, then asks which direction you're heading in. As you begin walking, Iwaizumi nudges your shoulder with his elbow, gesturing at you with his bent arm.
You glance up at him, confused for a moment until your eyes widen as you hold onto his arm with one hand. "Wouldn't want you falling again," he says with a chuckle.
Might be too late for that, your traitorous brain supplies.
During the walk back to your building, you resume your conversation from earlier, and he begins to tell you about his high school volleyball career and how he came to be the JNT's athletic trainer. At one point, he says something that makes you laugh unexpectedly, loud and bouncing off the nearby buildings before you can rein it in. You slap your free hand over your mouth to stifle your obnoxious laugh, glancing at Iwaizumi to gauge his reaction, but find him smiling down at the ground as he walks.
You reach the front of your building too soon for your liking. Iwaizumi walks you to the front entrance, letting you cling to his arm as you dig your keys out of your bag.
"Thank you for walking me home, Iwaizumi," you say, looking up at him and jingling your keys in your hand.
"Don't even worry about it," he tells you. "Are you good?" he asks as you let go of his arm, making a show of putting his hands out as if ready to catch you again. You pout, lightly smacking his arm with your fingertips as he laughs.
He's...very close, you realize, as you look up at him from under your lashes. You let your hand rest on his arm again.
"Did you want to come upstairs?" you ask him, so quiet your face heats with the thought of having to repeat yourself. Your hands are shaking, but you hope that your key jingling disguises that.
Iwaizumi blinks, locking eyes with you for one long, tense moment. "I shouldn't," he says, equally quiet. Your heart sinks into your stomach and you step back.
"Right, yeah, that's...of course," you say, continuing to fiddle with your keys as you look down at your shoes.
"But," he continues, and you glance back up at him. "Maybe next time? I still need to hear the end of your story."
Next time?
You nod.
"Sure. Next time."
Iwaizumi takes his phone out of his pocket, tapping it a few times and holding it out to you to enter your number. You send yourself a quick text, your phone pinging in your bag.
"Thank you again for walking me home," you say, handing his phone back and beginning to pick out the key fob that lets you into your building. "Text me when you make it home safely?"
Iwaizumi laughs at that, glancing at his phone screen before pocketing it. "Sure, I will. Good night." He rests a big, calloused hand on your shoulder for a moment, then lets it trail down to your elbow as he begins to walk away. Your eyes follow him down the walkway leading to your building. As he steps onto the sidewalk, he looks back at you one more time and waves before disappearing down the street.
You let yourself into your building, trudging past the elevator that only works half the time, and make your way upstairs. You barely get your shoes off before you flop back onto your bed, your cats already approaching you for an investigatory sniff.
You smack your palm into your forehead, cursing yourself for inviting him to your apartment. There were no signs that he thought of you that way. Not to mention, even though you'd logged a decent number of fantasy hours on him already, he only just met you tonight, and judging by the reaction he seemed to err on the side of old-fashioned. You worry about what he thinks of you, grabbing your phone and texting your group chat.
I'm worried he thinks im a slut now, you text your friends after explaining.
After a moment, you add: in a bad way. like not just in the dirty talk kinda way
You watch the messages from your friends roll in, a mix of reassurances and promises to fight Iwaizumi should the need arise. You're smiling and reading through your messages when a notification appears at the top of your screen.
You switch back over to your group chat, scrolling through all the new messages. Your eyelids drooping, you decide to read them all tomorrow. You plug your phone in, drag yourself to the bathroom to wash your makeup off, and flop back into bed.
Next time.

9 Tips That Don’t Work for Weight Loss, Say Dietitians | Eat This Not That
Tumblr media
As a nutritionist, I’ve heard all the tips for weight loss—the good, the bad, and the totally off-the-wall. From the age-old cabbage soup diet to the more recent strategy of eating cotton balls to fill the stomach, there’s no shortage of trendy ways to shed pounds–many of them are not only strange but also potentially harmful.
Even mainstream folk wisdom about how to lose weight can sometimes steer you in the wrong direction. So what do dietitians (the real weight loss experts) have to say about which tips are solid and which make them roll their eyes? I asked several registered dietitians to get their feedback. Here are nine weight loss tips they say to skip, and for more tips on how to lose weight, be sure to check out our list of 15 Underrated Weight Loss Tips That Actually Work.
“Make eating inconvenient.”
In theory, it kind of makes sense that putting obstacles in the way of your eating—like by using chopsticks instead of a fork or eating with your non-dominant hand—could help you eat less. But it’s not exactly a practical solution to the issue of overeating.
“While you might find yourself eating slower, you can still finish a full meal,” says Carrie Gabriel, MS, RD. “It is time-consuming, and if a person is busy, that could be frustrating.”
Besides frustration, eating in awkward ways might just make you look silly. “Think of the mess a person would make if it was a food such as, say, steak or a burger, which need a hand or utensils to cut it into small pieces,” says Gabriel.
“Put on tight clothes before you eat.”
Another lifestyle change that’ll only lead to discomfort? Changing your wardrobe at mealtimes. You may have heard the tip to don tight clothing before you eat in order to stay mindful of each mouthful. But keeping up a constant awareness of your weight at mealtimes creates negative self-talk—which you definitely don’t need when you’re trying to be healthy.
“There’s nothing wrong with being motivated to realistically fit into your own clothing that you recently wore, but it’s more important to dress the body you have and focus on your plate instead of your closet,” says Bonnie Taub-Dix, RDN, creator of BetterThanDieting.com and author of Read It Before You Eat It—Taking You from Label to Table.
In the midst of a busy day, there’s a time and a place for a probiotic-rich fruit and yogurt smoothie or protein shake instead of a sit-down lunch. But opting out of all meals in favor of weight loss shakes is likely to be a mere quick fix.
“While replacing food with a shake can be effective for some, there are important points to consider,” says dietitian and personal trainer Anthony DiMarino, RD, CPT. “Meal replacement shakes are normally very low in calories and fiber and therefore do not keep people satisfied for long periods of time.”
DiMarino adds that many meal replacement shakes tend to be high in sugar, which can spike blood sugar—a major drawback if you’re living with diabetes or pre-diabetes.
Instead, make yourself one of these 100 Best No-Cook Recipes of All Time.
“Eat only one food.”
Remember the grapefruit diet? Or the potato diet? Or any diet that told you to eat just one food? Monotrophic diets—those that advise sticking to a single food or food group—have been around for ages. The idea goes that you can only eat so much of any food before getting so bored you’ll basically stop eating altogether.
It doesn’t sound like a recipe for a healthy relationship to food, says Gabriel. And it sure doesn’t sound like fun!
“This pushes a person into eating disorder territory, in my opinion,” she says.
Meanwhile, if you go too long without a varied diet, you’re more likely to end up in the hospital than in a bikini competition.
“Eating only one type of food for an extended time period will make you deficient in other nutrients your body needs. Eventually, this could result in life-threatening illnesses,” Gabriel says.
“Don’t eat carbs.”
No one can deny the weight loss-boosting effects of cutting back on carbs on a diet like keto or Atkins. But for many people, opting out of carbohydrates completely can become a too-drastic elimination—one that might not even work in the long term.
“The research suggests you will undoubtedly lose weight by cutting out an entire food group,” says DiMarino. “But at what cost? Depriving yourself from carbohydrates (your main energy source) will ultimately reduce your quality of life over time. Low carb diets can cause you to experience hunger, irritability, fatigue, mood swings, constipation, headaches, and brain fog.”
If you’re considering ditching carbs for weight loss, it’s best to talk to your doctor or dietitian before diving in—as well as to be aware of the risks.
“A low-carb diet can put you at risk for kidney stones, osteoporosis, and even gout,” DiMarino says.
“Chew each bite dozens of times.”
This one’s another throwback: Simply chew your food into a liquid pulp and watch the pounds fly off! The art of “Fletcherism” had its heyday in the early 1900s when food faddist Horace Fletcher (the early 20th-century version of an Instagram influencer) advised his adherents to chew every bite until liquefied to boost weight loss.
To this day, you’ll sometimes see this tip circling back around. And, in truth, it’s not a bad idea to chew thoroughly—but it’s no magic bullet for weight loss.
“While chewing your food multiple times before swallowing is ideal and aids in proper digestion, and eating more slowly can make you conscious of becoming fuller more quickly, this can also be time-consuming,” says Gabriel. “Depending on the food and depending on a person’s relationship with food, it can make them obsess over their food and not actually enjoy it.”

“Cut out fat.”
If there was one prevailing weight loss mantra of the 1980s and ’90s, it was that eating fat made people fat. Non-fat potato chips, salad dressings, and even (ew) ice creams became staples of “healthy” households. Now, however, research has shown that the right kinds of fats are an important part of a healthy diet—even a diet for weight loss!
“Fat is an essential nutrient that not only helps us absorb fat-soluble vitamins and essential nutrients, but it also helps us feel full and satisfied to help prevent overeating,” says Taub-Dix. “The key when trying to reduce your weight or eat healthfully in general (even if your weight is not an issue for you), is to choose the right fats.”
Monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats are the kind to enjoy regularly in your diet. Taub-Dix recommends including plenty of nuts, avocado, and oils like avocado oil or olive oil.
“Don’t ever indulge.”
Popular weight loss advice is guilty of plenty of untruths—chief among them the idea that, when trying to reach a healthy weight, you can’t indulge in any of your favorite foods. Make one “mistake” by having a donut or pizza, goes the thinking, and you’ve done irreversible damage.
Dietitians know this is far from true.
“Why should you be denied of your favorite foods just because you’re trying to lose weight?” says Taub-Dix. “If you don’t eat any of those indulgent foods you love, there’s a good chance that you’ll wait until you’re ‘off’ your diet to enjoy them. That’s when those foods usually come back with a vengeance—in unreasonable portion sizes and too often.”
Rather than thinking of your weight loss effort as a short window of restricting the joy out of food, you’ll benefit far more in the long-term by (sometimes) including best-loved menu items.
“A weight loss plan that will be sustained should always include foods you love because, after all, this should be a diet you incorporate into your life, not a diet you change your life for temporarily,” Taub-Dix says.
“Just cut calories.”
When it comes to weight loss, we all know the basic concept of calories in versus calories out. It seems like losing weight should be so simple—yet many dieters find that just eating less somehow doesn’t budge the scale. Turns out, multiple factors are often at work in your body to complicate this equation.
“While the prevailing evidence suggests weight loss can occur as long as there is a calorie deficit, the kinds of calories do matter,” DiMarino says. “Human bodies are complex biological systems that process foods with different micronutrient makeups in completely different ways. Physiologic and hormonal changes occur in response to the foods we eat.”
If you’ve found you’re not making progress by sticking to a calorie target, don’t despair! Fortunately, you can experiment (especially with a dietitian’s guidance) with what types of foods and food combinations you consume. One possibility: work on incorporating higher-fiber, nutrient-dense foods as often as possible.
“Choosing to eat less processed, whole foods improve overall satiety (thus limiting overeating), provides steady energy all day long, and improves body composition over time,” DiMarino says.

Yuletide 2020 letter
Hello!
Thanks so much for writing for me! I’m excited to see what you come up with :) Here are some of my general likes and dislikes, as well as fandom-specific thoughts. Please think of this as a grab bag of starting points or inspiration, not definitive prompts (of course)! I know I rambled about these in disproportionate amounts, but please know I’d be super happy to receive something for any of these 3 fandoms.
I’m not new to Yuletide, but I started over with a new Ao3/fandom twitter recently (nothing wild, just wanted a fresh start). My DW is still linked to my old Ao3 acct, so I made this sideblog for my letter. This unfortunately means there’s not much for you to poke around in to see my taste, so hopefully this does a good enough job!
General Likes:
Character study/character motivation exploration
Multiple selves interacting
Expressing emotions physically--sex or kissing or any physical interaction as conversation/argument/apology/confession/goodbye
Characters A and B both having feelings for character C, and kissing/having tension charged conversations about them.
Reveal moments (confessions, when a couple is discovered by friends, in general just the fallout from the moment when characters have to stick by the choices they’ve made about their feelings because other people know the feeling, now)
Getting together moments/firsts
I’m happy with 3rd person prose, and I also love 2nd person, so if you like writing that, feel free (not in a self insert way, I just come from a Homestuck background, you know).
NSFW likes: Again, no pressure to write porn, but if you do want to, here are some things I like to read about! These are for He’s Coming to Me and I Don’t Care only, not for Great Men Academy.
Sensation play
Breathplay
Solo/fantasizing
Sneaking around/trying to not be seen but very much going for it in sketchy locations
Emotional sex
First times/exploration of each other
Dislikes/DNWs:
Hard AUs (canon divergence is fine though)
A/B/O dynamics
Soulmate/one true love stuff
Daddy kink
Mpreg/pregnancy
Illness fic
Noncon
Scat/pee
Incest
Underage explicit fic
1st person POV

FANDOM 1: Great Men Academy สุภาพบุรุษสุดที่เลิฟ (TV)
Characters: Love, Rose, Tangmo
I watched this show after tag nominations closed and was gutted that I didn’t get it in the tagset, but luckily someone else had my back! I love it SO much, especially the gender stuff and the self/identity stuff. I also loved how silly and whimsical the worldbuilding was. The fact that it was mostly a regular world just plus a few magical elements with some handwavy “don’t worry about it” aspects was delightful to me.
I requested Love, Rose, and Tangmo, but you do not need to include all 3 unless you'd like to! I would be most happy with these combos: Rose & Love, Rose/Love, Rose/Rose, Love/Love, or Love/Tangmo.
For this canon, I’d appreciate keeping things at a T or light M rating (kissing and tension are both great, fade to black is fine if it is a part of the character study/plot, but I am not interested in pwp/explicit stuff for these characters).
Concepts:
Love/Rose or Love & Rose -  I adored the bathroom scene where Rose showed Love all her secrets. I loved their tension, as well as the sort of tentative trust and understanding they came to. Once Rose didn’t see Love as a threat, and once she started chilling her ass out a bit (partially because she saw how Love was handling things), they had a really interesting dynamic! I’d be happy to see them in any combination of Self forms. I do love Rose despite her many flaws so feel free to dig in to her fucked up side, but I’d appreciate not bashing her!
Friendship or Frenemy fic - Rose has been perfecting her look and her smokey eye makeup even in her Sean form, so her giving Love some makeover tips for her new form would be great? Or I’d like any way where they’d have to work together despite their tensions and come to form a tentative bond. Feel free to play up Rose’s big distrust/manipulative side.
Ship fic - I don’t see them having deep romantic feelings for each other, but I really love the idea of them in a sort of combative/understanding weird tension filled makeouts.  Mid-canon, the fact that they both are pining desperately and know each other’s secret could lead to some interesting interactions (Kissing About Vier? Swimming in the lake together? Shotgunning some lakewater?). And postcanon, they still understand each other in ways no one else does, because of what they’ve gone through. So I can see them keeping in touch and one thing leading to another. I like the idea of Rose thinking she’s in control of the situation, but Love’s straightforward no-nonsense caring and forgiving self sort of trips her up.
Love/Love or Rose/Rose - I am a huge sucker for multiple selves interacting, so when that happened in canon I lost my shit. I would be so happy to see more of that! Especially without the rest of the world watching on live TV, haha. I like this in a platonic way and also in a selfcest way, so feel free to have multiple selves kissing/experiencing the weird fraughtness of trying to understand themselves through the eyes of their other self emotionally or physically.
For both Loves, I’d love to see more of Original Love showing/telling her new self some love, maybe them going through her clothes together and deciding what to keep (I’d love to see new Love getting comfy wearing dresses again!), or talking about Tangmo and how things are going with him in the post-canon, or just being sweet and emotional and complicated! Working through what it’s like to live in the body she’s got for the moment! Love grew a lot over the course of the show, and both of her selves have a lot to learn from each other. I’m not interested in reading about her magically being turned back, though I know it is an in-universe option.
For Rose’s two selves, if you went with a happy/bittersweet take like how she was at the end of the show, some forgiveness for her former self? Or Rose-as-Sean sneaking in to try on the VR goggles to see what it’s like? I could also see some messy combative fighting/making out happening, since she has a lot to work on inside herself/potentially some self-hatred. Or if you wanted to get really sad and dark, having her-as-Sean tell her the things she wished Vier would tell her? Anything in this vein.
Love/Tangmo - Love is my favorite character, which is why she’s more heavily featured in my prompts, but I DO love Tangmo, and this pairing! I love that she inspires him to want to put effort into things, and that he has feelings for her as a person no matter that her gender is not what he thought originally. I want him to make her feel loved and wanted in her new form, and to make her believe him that he’d still be into her if she ever switched back (though I’m not particularly interested in reading about that happening).
Vier wasn’t in the taglist but you can include him if you like, as a side character!
Optional Gender stuff:
I know that no two humans feel the same way about gender identity, and writing about it can be fraught for some people, no matter what their gender is, so don’t feel like you have to Get Into it, if you write this canon for me! That said, if you ARE interested, feel free to take into account these thoughts I have about gender and this series!
It’s not all perfect in there--it is messy and complicated and multilayered in a way that really resonated with me, as a person with a convoluted self gender concept. The mishmash of magical gender wish fulfillment stuff AND dysphoria stuff AND fear of telling your family about your identity stuff AND identities misaligning and aligning romantically all really worked for me. I also appreciated that there are some really chewy difficult moments in there, but that it stays consistent tonally about both “your body does not dictate your gender” AND “sometimes you want your body to reflect your gender.” I feel like those are baseline concepts that can both be true, but often in gendery media you get “born in the wrong body” simplification and that’s it, which doesn’t resonate with me. Anyway, if you wanna get into gender stuff, I’d prefer it to not get preachy or label-heavy (i don’t think it’s a straightforward trans narrative, so trying to make it that doesn’t seem like a good idea to me). I mostly just like the concept of Love working through what it means for her to be a girl no matter what she looks like, and for Tangmo to be into her no matter what her gender is. So even when she’s in her new form, please use “she” for her, though obviously it’s ok for characters who don’t know her real identity to use “he.”

FANDOM 2: เขามาเชงเม้งข้างๆหลุมผมครับ | He's Coming to Me (TV)
Characters: Mes, Thun, Praifah
This is one of my favorite Thai dramas! I loved the romance, the family stuff, the premise, the friend group stuff, the grief and death and life emotional stuff--all of it! I loved it so much even though I watched it with the world’s worst resolution and not good subs, but (eta in december i learned an official translation and release exists now! here!) I’d be most interested in a missing scene or postcanon fic for this fandom.
I am happy with fic that includes any combo of these three characters--they do not all 3 need to be present.
Concepts:
-Thun and Mes’s first time - You could expand on the tasteful fade-to-black we got in canon. What’s it like for Mes to feel things? I love physical exploration of sensation for undead characters! I can see it being overwhelming (in a good way) for him. I love the idea of Thun giving Mes a lot of attention, either in a slow methodical way or just being all over him, but wanting to let him feel things/feel good. I also like the idea of Thun wanting to take all he can of Mes for himself while he has the chance, since he’s not sure if they’ll get another.
-Thun and Mes in the future - The end of the show is happy, but their issues are definitely not over, and I’m interested to see how they’d deal with them. I’d love to see any kind of established relationship (potentially with flashback to when things were unclear between them?). What’s it like when they know each other well, either day to day or in their sex life? How do they deal with Mes not being able to expend a lot of energy without losing form? Is there a way for Mes to give him energy (hehe)?
-Far future angst - Mes is still gonna disappear one day. I am not always into angst, but I would be for these two, especially if it is balanced with bittersweetness/dashes of hope. How do they prepare? Would Mes find a way to leave a sign if it happened when Thun wasn’t around/what would he do if he WAS there in those last moments? How would Thun deal? I assume they have some good years ahead of them, but Mes DID have a heart condition, and may not have lived to old age ordinarily anyway, so there’s no telling when his actual time to go would have been. What happens if Thun dies first? Lots of ways you could take this.
-I also requested Praifah, because I really liked her character, and would be interested in seeing more of her. If you choose to include her, I’d enjoy seeing how she’s coping with all of this. I’d also like to see her and Mes have a conversation without Thun (I guess Mes can use a computer so he can type to her?? Or feel free to handwave or come up with a way to have them be able to talk face to face or something?) though he can be there for part of it too, if you like! Whatever ends up working. Mes and Praifah just have a lot of things to discuss, being both long lost family to each other, as well as having each been involved in the pain of the other. I really love when two characters who both have feelings about another character bond over the character they both love. I know Praifah has moved on to the lovely Prince, but I still feel like there’s some unresolved stuff going on and I want Priafah and Mes to talk about Thun, and what happened between all three of them! Lots of tasty tension and joy in there!
I didn’t nominate the other characters because I wasn’t interested in fic that focused on them, but feel free to include the other friends, Thun’s Mom, etc, as side characters if you’d like.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
FANDOM 3: I Don't Care - Justin Bieber and Ed Sheeran (Song)
Characters: Singer 1, Singer 2
This song is a little gay love story all neatly tied up in a catchy bow! I am not interested in RPF of Justin Bieber and Ed Sheeran here, but they are absolutely singing to each other in this song, huh??
You can take these characters in a lot of directions, since we mostly just know that one of these guys doesn’t like to wear a suit and tie, and the other is experiencing deep social anxiety, and that’s about it. Name them! Run wild!
Concepts:
-The story of the song, fleshed out - Either the whole of it, or a scene or two within the party.
-Reveal moment/decision moment - I love moments where a queer couple braves the concept of PDA for the first time, or where a reticent person finally feels comfy enough to admit to others that they’re in a relationship! Not really looking for mega homophobia here, but if the people at the party don’t know they’re a couple yet, them finding solace in each other on the dance floor/kissing in the middle of this party could be a big Moment. If you want to keep this a sort of Vague non-bieber/sheeran but still a celebrity concept, the idea that they’d be photographed and it would be big news that they’re a couple could be an angle to take. They don’t care! They’re finally happy together after a moment of panic!
-Tie pulling  - It’s great and wow one of them at least is wearing one!
-Post-song -when they go home and presumably have a great time one on one. Can get E rated if you like.
