"You don't look well. Yujinnie worries, owner"

You must look really haggard if Yujin points it out. You rub your hand over your face, yawning.

"Mhm, yes, angel. I haven't been feeling very well, it's work," You explain to Yujin. There's no point in hiding it from her, she's very smart and observant.

"Need a hug, owner?" Yujin's tail calmly begins to wag from side to side, with hidden expectation.

Within seconds, a pair of gentle arms surround you. Yujin snuggles deep into the hug, burying her face between your neck and shoulder, inhaling your scent. Hello! Just wanted to start by telling you how wonderful you are, and how much my Discord Vulcan/Romulan Fan Servers adore your work and contribution to Trek. I started this conversation with them, and thought, it's a shot in the dark, but why not ask Diane? It does require a little handwaving at ancient timelines, but...

Have you ever thought that a possible in universe explanation for the similarities in names and governmental structure of Romulans and the ancient Romans could be that one or two of the ships that left Vulcan 2,000+ years before got lost and ended up on Earth? and that by the Dominion war era... some 15-ish percent of humans have a tiny amount (1-3%) of Romulan genetic markers?

No one realizes it's there, because no one's ever looked for it? Or if anyone did figure it out, it was hushed up by Starfleet Intelligence?

First of all: thanks for the nice words! It's always good to hear when people are enjoying my work.

Now as regards this premise: ...It's an interesting one, but not one I'd feel able to sell. You (correctly) point out that there would be too much timeline-oriented slashing around with Occam's Razor needed to make it even start working. Additionally, in at least one of my books, I manage to sell a single Vulcan/human genetic blend only by invoking the most complex medical support technology Vulcan has to offer. Therefore from my POV, the likelihood of castaway Vulcans winding up on Earth 2K years before the Trek "modern" period and successfully hybridizing with another non-Vulcan species unfortunately falls somewhere between "not the slightest chance" and "sorry, NOPE"... while also pushing the concept straight out of science fiction and into fantasy. And though I walk that side of the road too (and repeatedly!), I don't do it with Trek. :)

Also: having written a whole group of books based on the concept that the congruence of Roman/"Romulan" names and cultural tropes is nothing more than a combination of serious misunderstandings and a very old clerical error, I'd have to suggest I'm the wrong person to be trying to justify such a premise in the first place.

So: no, that's a set of concepts that wouldn't have occurred to me. Unquestionably, very creative: but not a road I'd walk.

In any case, it's kind of you to inquire! So thanks for that, and give the Discord-based crowd my best.

I started checking PF regularly a few weeks ago and since then I have already had multiple delightful interactions with strangers. Some short (one reply per person) and some longer, none of them unpleasant. Considering I am not very talkative, that's impressive!

Did you know you can now sign up without needing an invite link or paying money? Just enter the waitlist and soon you'll get an email with a sign-up link. Last I heard, the wait was hours rather than days.

There's still no app, but I have three hot tips for fellow mobile users:

1) If opening your browser and then navigating to the website feels like too many steps, you can add a shortcut to your homescreen. I'm not sure how because I never do this, and I imagine it depends on which browser you use anyway, so just google how to do it in your browser of choice

2) If your browser takes too long to load because you have 74591 tabs open, consider keeping two separate browsers on your phone - one for opening shortcuts and links from other apps, one for regular browsing. I'm actually at 3 to 5 browsers for different purposes by now depending on whether you count the apps I will mention in the next tip, this is getting out of control, help me

3) There are apps - at least on Android, I'm not sure about iOS - that can turn any website into a "lite app" that is basically the advanced version of simply putting a shortcut on your homescreen. This has pros and cons; I may make a separate post about it at some point. Personally I mostly use Hermit at this time and it has completely cured me of my previous reluctance to visit mobile websites instead of installing apps.

Maybe this will help some of you, too!

My PF dashboard is still very slow at around 3-8 new posts per day. For a while I was following the "active users" community to see more posts, but it was mostly stuff that didn't interest me. I unfollowed it as soon as I was getting some new posts from other sources on my dash every day, but I'm still looking for more people and communities to follow.

There are no communities for many of my interests. I'm thinking about making some of my own! It's probably easier than you think. To those unfamiliar with the concept, a community is like a shared blog but on a larger scale and easier to join; members might make posts catered specifically to the community, ask questions to start discussions, or just reblog content to the community instead of their own blog if it's a niche interest. Reblogging one's own posts to communities for more exposure is also common. Much better than tags!

Its an old fandom (Ugly Betty) gay fic back before same sex marriage was ruled in NY (mind you, Canada was ok back then but the characters are based in the US). so yeah... struggles were real

Young Getty Love. (Ugly Betty) I'll add this for measure. Because I hate incomplete stuff. and I just read the comments from 15 years ago. And its true. comments make you feel better even if they were posted gazillion years ago. Well... if i finally learn to write teen characters (which i DON'T) I might write a thing or two for MLB. But probably not...

Because right now I am sketching... and long post about drawing and blablabla. and why i dont write etc etc... and that i make tons of grammar errors and never proof my writing and bla bla... I really enjoy reading this fandom better. I am learning compostion, exposure and how to handle dialogue. MLB writers are quite diverse and talented. I love it!

Regarding an agoraphobia post where you shared some experiences in the tag, whether folks shared this recommendation outta concern or just having that 'get over it' mind frame, being exposed to more crowds or areas is a type of exposure therapy that can help for phobias, but of course this ain't simple. People gotta be more understanding that this type of stuff takes so much strength and courage to overcome, and importantly it takes time, patience, and needs to be done right with specialists for folks with the phobia to work through exposure therapy (or hell, any different therapy treatment/techniques as well.). Genuinely sorry that folks minimized your struggles, stay strong and keep moving forward at your pace. 🌻

I do understand that exposure therapy can help with this kind of situation, but the main problem has been that I've tried it for a while, it clearly hasn't been a solution that works for me, but the people I mentioned believe its the ONLY solution for this. It's been more like "you just have to get over it because" and "it's not that hard." I'm trying to work on getting better at it myself, seeing if there's other methods that could possibly work better for me.

What's your relationship to dialog? Because I have had a variety of opinions from writers: some love it, some hate it. Do you like writing it? Is it easier to write than the rest or harder? Do you have opinions on dialog tags? On written accents and language quirks?

Sorry if this is all vague, the gist of it is: tell me about your approach to dialog. I'm asking because I really liked the dialog in your latest FPA fic.

This is such an interesting topic and I think I have lots of opinions! I would say there was definitely a time when I would have said dialog was my least favorite, but I think it has changed. I'm still struggling with it sometimes, especially if I need a character to give a certain piece of information to another character for plot reasons and I don't want them to sound dry. That still feels pretty hard.

But sometimes it's actually the dialog that comes to me first from a scene and then I make sure to write it down immediately. I think it also makes it a bit easier to see if it flows naturally if you only have the dialog next to each other and nothing else. Also maybe my brain hacked itself into daydreaming up some dialog because I found it hard lool

I also really like banter-heavy scenes in media (you know, the FPA has plenty of good lines for example), and that both motivates and inspires me to try to get the dialog right. It can also be fun once you learn how a particular character talks. (Although I do tend to second-guess myself every once in a while.)

Writing in first POV also indirectly helped I think because when you write the narration you are already closer in tone to how that character speaks, if that makes sense?

Writing different English accents specifically is very hard for me I think, because I never got a lot of exposure to them irl. And because of previous fandoms I know how it looks when someone does it really well (looking at you @geekinthefuschiahair sorry to tag you in a random discussion but this question made me think of how you writing Jamie's Scottish accent always filled me with awe and humility lol)

With the punctuation of dialog and the different language quirks around that I'm not picky. I don't know if you agree as a fellow European but I feel like since we get exposed to a lot of languages in our lives minor things like how someone signals the start of dialog just don't seem like a big deal? What I mean for example is that I ordered three books of the Dresden Files series and it took me actual DAYS to notice that one was the UK edition and had single quotes instead of double quotes around dialog lool I just opened both and went "yeah, looks about right" lmao

It's funny because I know that people can be extremely picky about that.

But if you read books in different languages growing up I think it's not that difficult to adjust to punctuation.

Actually, I think when I translated my first fic to English and put it on AO3 I used the Hungarian way of doing the dialog with EM dashes (I can sense some people shuddering right now) because I didn't know any better. I edited it since ofc lol Then because I got into Outlander and because I lived in the UK for a while I tried using single quotes, but then I had a lot of American fandom friends and decided to spare their eyes lol

So that is to say, I'm not picky about that. As long as you tell me who is speaking, I'm fine. Which is more of a pet peeve of mine. As a writer, you obviously know who is talking. And then sometimes you think oh I don't want to overuse a character's name or "he said/she said'. But I think that's a myth and you can't overuse that stuff. It's repetitive but I think when you read your eyes just glide over those phrases and it doesn't take you out of the scene. But if you have to stop and try to figure out who's saying what that is a lot more tedious in my opinion.

4. Do you use move objects? Yes, but I use the T.O.O.L. mod more (for really accurate placement).

5. Favorite mod? UI Cheats or MCCommand are obviously necessary, but I could not play the game without Lumpinou's mods or custom recipes (Granny's Cookbook is my favorite).

25. What expansion/game/stuff pack is your favorite so far? Strangerville (obviously) and Get Together, the underrated queen!!! The townies are so good and the world is amazing. But really I like any packs that add gameplay (especially family/legacy-centered gameplay).

26. What expansion/game/stuff pack do you want next? Not a whole pack dedicated to horses that's for sure lmao 😅. I really want another city world, or at least a world that has apartments. More diversity of personality and skills in the game, more careers (not all playable ones like GTW, but I wouldn't object to a few). Okay, I'm gonna do everything together, but i will preface this by saying i have a lot more exposure to some things than others, thus I will have varying degrees of 'much to say'.

DMC 5

I'm definitely biased for this (it's the one that got me into the franchise) but I digress.

FAMILY THEMES BABI MY FAVORITE THING

I just adore the main cast so much u do not understand. So much hype shit happens with em too, it's great. The characters are simultaneously over the top but also very real? Like Dante is the wacky woo-hoo pizza man but also horribly in control of his emotions and how to express them.

The Vergil reveal was so obvious but I dont care. It's good. The depths given to his character through V and Urizen are VERY good.

And NERO- lord everyone in this family has trauma

Also SDT was introduced in this game I'm sorry but no piece of DMC media will be able to top this because of it.

2. DMC 3

is anyone surprised

I love the bois so much, with their stupid catchphrases and horrible family dynamics. it's so weird looking at them like

I was nighteen once. I wasn't like them but I was nighteen.

Also the THEMES once again center around family, especially with the addition of Lady and Arkum. I also love this cast SO MUCH

except arkum fuck arkum all the homies hate arkum

Literally the only reason this is lower than DMC 5 is because no Nero, Trish or Nico. That's it.

3. Visions of V

i haven't talked about him much but I would also gently hold V (and by extension Vergil)

Really I just love this manga because of how much is shown and revealed through it. Everything is really visceral and hits so hard.

Literally everything in this manga stabs u in the feels especially the final shit GOOD LORD

but it really is tied with #4 because it can't really stand by itself? It needs DMC 5 to be whole, in a way.

4. DMC 4

I really wanted to put this above VoV but my DMC 5 bias shown through in the end IM SORRY

also yeah Sanctus as a villian is dogshit, i agree

and some characters REALLY needed more screen time (see: Credo, Angus, KYRIE) but also this game has the Shakespeare scene so....

also I just love Nero and his teen angst can u blame me

But GOD did Kyrie need more screentime

5. Before the Nightmare

Wow the DMC 5 bias strikes again, huh.

IDK man I just love the prequel shit. Like, Nico and Nero meeting is so fucking funny

Also Lucia makes an appearance for the first time since DMC 2 so thats cool

It also expanded the lore on how devil arms work through Balrog which I am SO thankful for.

Also Roc Goldstein exists now and everyone should know about one of the ONLY GOOD DADS in DMC history

Really the only other one I give my full respect to is Sparda, and he died when his kids were like, six. (Dante and Vergil r getting there tho, give em time.)

6. The Anime

Look Patty is the only reason this is so high I love her and if u look at my previous posts u can tell I love her and Dante's father daughter relationship u can pry it out of my cold dead hands

Also the lore with Sparda's apprentices, demon smoners being a thing, and the introduction to Morrison is very nice.

But also Lady was WAY off the mark almost the entire time, and the plot with Patty only really took center stage towards the end so :(

ALSO THEY DIDNT EVEN SHOW DEVIL TRIGGER IN FULL I WILL NEVER FORGIVE CAPCOM FOR THIS INJUSTICE

7. DMC 1 novel

This novel is weird because it was written before almost all of the other shit so Canon often either ignored it or bent over backwards to avoid it until the DMC 5 era

But I like it. All of the new characters r very good and I love them all.

Grues death STILL hits me in the feels so hard.

Dante has lost so many parental figures ya'll

One of the only reasons it's so low is because of Gilver, the fuck

He made NO fucking sense for the longest time until the timeline rewrite and the retcon that he's a Vergil clone.

That fits his character so much more bur looking at him as Vergil makes no fucking sense. Everything about his character contradicts what we know about Vergil, even back with only DMC 3 as a reference.

Despite those issues, i am very happy we are seeing some rep for this book in the games and other media. U do not understand the screech I let out when Grue's daughters were shown years later.

8. DMC 1

Like his plot is the most uniform and overdone revenge plot I have ever seen and his relationship with Trish....

it's funky in this game, let me tell u. Thank whatever higher power exists that they leaned more towards siblings in later installments because I would be pulling my hair out otherwise.

the villian is bad, the location is okay i guess, really the only saving grace for this games story is the concepts it introduces

Demon civil wars? Artificial demons created by people? Those are cool concepts! So cool that one was reused in a much better game, but I digress.

Honestly the story is probably one of the least sacrilege parts of DMC 2, and it still isn't the worst piece of DMC media based on story. That goes to our surprise contender....

13. DMC: Devil May Cry

DMC questions anon did NOT ask for this, but I'm putting it here so that everyone understands that this games story and characters are SO BAD that I'm putting UNDERNEATH DMC 2

But what can I say that hasn't been already stated?

Vergil is so far out of character he's basically an OC and his turn around at the end makes no fucking sense

Donte is an asshole who has functionally abandoned what made Dante likeable in ANY GAME

The plot itself is the most rehashed 'the government is evil and we must resist it' plot EVER

Even the new shit they added for this game doesn't even fucking work well.

Having demons that look like angels be the antagonists is much more interesting that just having angels and having them do NOTHING

Kat is literally the only thing that I don't have a super negative opinion on because she was NEW and I hadn't watched them fuck up a character I love. They just made a mediocre one at best

Needless to say, I utterly despise the plot of this game with my entire being.

1.

Raymond continued, closing with a smile that showed his dimples. “…as much as I was dying to see you.” I raised an eyebrow at him, not sure what the comment meant. Me greeting him by making sure his cover was secure wasn’t an unusual occurrence, and I knew he didn’t like it. I didn’t know how to respond, so I took a few more bites of the pizza. Maybe I was thinking too much about it— I enjoyed our meetings, even when I was frustrated with him. It was my only chance to relax, everything else was playing a role or planning it. It wasn’t too far to say that he might enjoy them too— I was the only one who knew he was alive. 

2.

“Can you unfocus for a second?” Raymond said.  I tensed up. I didn’t know if he knew just how often I was under the spell, but the suggestion filled me with discomfort. Focusing was how I stayed safe. I could miss something without it. But his eyes held me. Please, he asked. I took a deep breath. Released the spell for the second time that day. The fatigue came back, the panic that had been dormant as anger made my heart start to race, because I was going to get caught and everything was going to fall apart. The floor was unstable and I sat down on the loveseat. Raymond sat down next to me and waited for a second. I looked at him— his hand was still on my shoulder, and I could breathe and I wouldn’t’ve released the spell with anyone else but him. Even if he was making mistakes, messing this up, here, when it was just us, apparently I did trust him. I could trust him.

He narrowed his eyes and I realized I probably shouldn’t be telling him what to do in that moment— even if he did need to be quiet. But he lowered his voice and chose his words carefully. “You almost did, and you intended to, because you were at risk. So I have to ask myself, if you’re willing to kill a friend of mine to keep your cover, can I really trust you?” His eyes dropped, staring hard at the table. “And maybe I shouldn’t.” A vision flashed of him leaving, of him leaving and never getting to see him again. “Raymond—” I started to say, but there were people around, and I couldn’t say everything I wanted to, and he wasn’t going to reach over and let us talk through my head.  How could I say, in that moment, how much I needed him? With the exception of this moment, I was safe around him. I was a better person around him, we both knew that. And maybe freeing him, and keeping the cover and helping his friends, maybe it was hard, but he was worth it. And maybe that was why he was upset anyway, but I couldn’t lose him because he was the reason I was taking the risk with Jesse.

I felt like there was something else for me to apologize for, but could I? Could I apologize for not trusting him? “I don’t think I can completely trust you. I can say I trust you more than anyone else. But I don’t trust that you’ll do everything to keep yourself safe.” “Well, you have no reason to,” he said. “We don’t actually know each other that well.” “We know each other,” I said. He shook his head. “We weren’t really friends before it happened, and since then we’ve written some or visited some but never for very long. Of course you don’t trust me.” That sounded right but felt wrong. I was quiet though, because I knew what he’d say. If I said that I felt like I knew him better than anyone, he’d point out that I knew Zachary and Mika better than I knew him just by exposure. If I said he knew me better than anyone, he’d point out that he was the only one I didn’t have my guard up around.

“Still think it’s too dangerous?” he was grinning, his hand resting on the railing one foot on a higher step than the other, but now that I was within a few feet of him again and he wasn't running away, I could hear how fast he was breathing. That made me smile a bit, because yes I’d slowed down a bit, but despite him staying ahead of me and my comment about the stairs, it’d hardly winded me. “Well, I guess no one’s going to catch us together here,” I said, looking at the walls surrounding us, thinking about how loud of a clang the steps made that would tell us quickly if anyone was coming.  I felt his hand touch my arm and turned back to him, and for a second he looked like he wanted to say something. He was a step taller than me, and I didn't usually have to look up towards him but I was, and I saw when he decided against whatever he’d wanted to say and withdrew his hand from my arm, and he shifted his weight to the foot on the higher step and he was farther away from me. “What?” I asked, and couldn't help but feel like I had once again ruined his happy moment, somehow.

“Alright,” he set his mug down and bit off a chunk of the remaining candy cane. “We ready to brave the cold again, then?” “You’ve got a—“ I didn’t point it out before, but I feel like I should before we go out. I touch my own cheek. He rubs it, doing absolutely nothing. Out of nowhere, I’m struck with the urge to offer to get it for him, and then that feels like far too much and I duck my head to look away, even though I don’t even know why that feels like too much. “Still there,” is all I say.

Wait a second. Did I love him? Not in a caring about him, wanting him to live way… but in the way that… I didn’t even know enough about this to figure it out. Fuck. Damnit. I flipped to my back so I wasn’t looking at him. In the way that Ariel had written, how she’d asserted that Nicholas (“Dad”?) would do anything for Ally (“Mom”?). In the holy-shit-is-this-why-I-wanted-to-get-the-chocolate-on-his-face way, because why else had I felt so weird about that? In a I-hate-that-Abigail-saw-it-first way. In a maybe this was the something-that-had-to-happen-first way. I felt stupid. Because with everything that had happened, I knew everything else— I knew how much better I felt around him, I knew how much the thought of him getting hurt or being unhappy hurt me, I knew that I wanted to be better for him. I knew everything else. In a way, I knew that I loved him

Whenever I see a post of people asking for reblogs rather than likes. I feel so bad because I barely reblog anything

I'll write out a whole bunch of tags, be happy with my reblog, then feel self conscious and delete the draft (this isn't just a tumblr thing either, most of the time when I go to leave a comment on any form of social media I instantly delete it the moment I've finished writing it)

but see that’s the really great thing about tumblr !!! you don’t necessarily have to leave stuff in the tags :D

the main reason writers (because I’m going to get Very specific since a) I’m a writer myself and b) writers suffer a lot more with this, though artists definitely have the same struggle) ask for reblogs is because it gives us exposure. we want people to interact with our writing the same way they interact with art. reblogging helps our writing reach more people, and if our writing is Actively being reblogged that shows us that people are interested, y’know?

I’ve had plenty of scenarios where I was intimidated and self conscious to leave any comments in the tags, so I 100% feel you there. but there’s no expectation for tags, just a lil reblog! whenever I’m intimated by the person I’m reblogging from (9 times out of 10 it’s an artist) I won’t leave any tags, but I’ll still give them the traction.

the thing to keep in mind is that we are the algorithm here. we control what gets seen and spread around. if you want someone to keep writing or keep drawing, you need to give them that engagement. a reblog even without tags goes a really long way!

obvi I can’t tell you (or anyone else!) how to use tumblr <3 the only thing I can do is give a little insight to our side of things and try to gently encourage as best I can. but I do understand the fear <3

Fannish Year Review - 2023

1. Your main fandom of the year: for the first half of the year i was pretty obsessed with old hollywood (namely cary grant & gregory peck, as i'm sure people remember), but the x-files takes the cake overall.

2. Your favorite film this year: this question is always hard for me. i love movies so much and i'm always trying to watch new ones. even though this hasn't been a great movie year for me, i've still manage to rack up 115 films. i think i had a few favorites. x-files: fight the future was probably the most fun i've had watching a movie this year, if not ever. i was giddy for a week after that. barbie holds a special place in my heart because my friend group dressed up for it, and it was incredible to see all those women and girls in that theater all dressed in pink. i stumbled upon crossing delancey and return to me and they hold very special places in my heart now (i watched them after making big, scary college decisions and they helped ease every bit of anxiety. and hey, it did all work out all right in the end). watching the ballad of songbirds and snakes with the friends i've had since middle school--the very ones i read the original books alongside--was nothing short of euphoric.

3. Your favorite book this year: this year has been an excellent book year for me, so i'm going to cheat a little. the answer is most likely pet semetary by stephen king. it was such a moving story about the horrors of grief and who we become when we don't handle it the way we ought to, and it took my breath away when i read it. i'm still reeling from having read it. the ballad of songbirds and snakes holds a special place in my heart, too, because it sent me off on my hunger games kick and i got to read it with my friend group and co-workers (all who never really read). i don't read y.a. or much dystopian fiction, but those books really made me want to read more. they hold up just as well as they did when i was young, if not more because i feel them more deeply now than i ever could before. there was also heartbreakingly good reads such as trespasses by louise kennedy, kindred by octavia butler, and the overstory by richard powers - all books that helped me remember the power of storytelling and the importance of humanity.

8. Your biggest fandom disappointment of the year: i might get shooters for this one but david duchovny's new movies were not my favorite and i really needed them to be (especially the pet semetary one)

Your tv/movie boyfriend and/or girlfriend of the year: mulder & scully, baby. i fear it'll never be anyone else for me. though i will mention coriolanus snow and lucy gray because they dared to tip the crown for a week or so (not because they were better but because they were so wrong and they took up so much of my thoughts lol)

10. Your biggest squeeze moment of the year: getting to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the x-files with both new and old x files lovers here on tumblr, getting a new hunger games movie and watching that with my friends, and undoubtedly watching pedro pascal rise to the fame he has now. i love that man more than words can ever express and all of his success is personal to me. i cannot wait to see the brilliant things he continues to do, and i'm so happy that this year was incredibly kind to him

•When and what was your first exposure to Elvis Presley? I knew about Elvis from a young age, but it was nothing too serious. Full House was my most consistent exposure because I loved that sitcom, and Jesse being obsessed with Elvis was his running gag but I correlated Elvis to John Stamos forever lol. Another jumping off point for me was in Lilo and Stitch. Devil in Disguise became one of my favorites strictly because of that film lol. And then in junior high i had a friend who's step dad was literally obsessed with Elvis. Would play his music loudly every single time i went over her house. My nana also would make reference to marrying my grandpa because he looked like Elvis. But my biggest exposure to Elvis was from the Baz film of course. So he's been around me for a long time, but I never took it too far until this film.

•And what was your first impression? I thought Elvis was nothing more than a gimmick. He's been so overly parodied in his life and in death that I grew to roll my eyes at those "uh huhhh thank ya very much lil mama" type of deals y'know. I was like ugh please...I saw him as very novelty and I never saw past those parodies.

•Lace shirts or jumpsuits? Oooh come on now!! Lace shirts are so slutty but honestly, those jumpsuits get me hot under the collar.

•You can steal one of Elvis/Austin’s outfits, what’s it going to be? Im assuming this is in the context of stealing an outfit so i can wear it. Since I can't choose just one i'll give 2, one for Elvis and one for Austin

There's something about this outfit that I know I could rock if i could alter it to my body. maybe make the trousers into hot pants lol. tie the shirt up. but yeah i love this one

•C’mon, we know you’ve been watching/reading old interviews and random footage of the man, so what’s your favorite random Elvis quote? Lol you're so right though lol. Honestly though that man has waaaaay too many perfect quips and funny one liners. Like...i'd have to do a whole dissertation on my favorite Elvis jokes. But this one is fresh in my mind...i rewatched Aloha From Hawaii last night and when he's singing Suspicious Minds he leans down into his deep side lunge and sings "I hope this suit don't tear up baby". I fucking died

•Did you find Austin Butler’s lips distracting despite them being in a movie about the King of plush upper lips? (Be honest now) LOL. sis yes, like the man has such plump lips i just wanna kiss them. i've got big full lips too but i think his are even bigger than mine lol

•What’s an aspect of Elvis’ character you wish more people appreciated? HIS HUMOR *i scream into the void*. the man had a wicked sense of humor like...people need to see it. But also his generosity.

Tom Parker for the first time, forewarned with the knowledge of what a scumbag he is, what do you do?: A. nothing, you’re a coward who doesn’t care about abused golden-hearted men B. you give the Colonel a stern telling off C. you encourage Elvis to leave him and break the contract E. you slap a legal document against that fat suit and declare “Mrs. Claus is bringing you a lawsuit” F. you waste no time with formalities, it’s a letter opener to the juggler for that piece of trash HAHAHA wow all of these are such great answers but i think the one i would genuinely pick if i had the power to go back in time and do this...would be option C. I would be like Elvis baby...the man has gots to go i beg of you. I think in my delusional mind he'd listen to me. ain't nothin gonna work if i talk to the Colonel himself except maybe if i give him a firm slap across the mouth

•What was your favorite aspect/scene from the Elvis 2022 movie? i have so many but i really love the Vegas Rehearsal scene. It's so so so good and so hot. like goddamn who told Austin he could be that hot and authoritative

•You can choose only one song or piece of media to convince someone to become an Elvis fan, what is it going to be? that's really hard because i have to think of this practically. if i show someone one of Elvis's many films, i don't think that would do the trick. it would be too cheesy for a non-fan. And then the 68 Comeback Special is a good option however with all the musical numbers in there i again don't think that would 100% win a non-fan over without context.

I would probably show them the That's The Way It Is film doc that shows funny rehearsal footage and then the live concert from 1970. It's perfect because it shows Elvis's dedication to the musical arrangements, his humor, and his talent.

•How many children would you give Elvis Presley from your own -or theoretical- womb? (listen to the beast in ya, your feminism won’t serve you here) I genuinely am terrified of the idea of pregnancy and labor because im not about pain and suffering with a changing body for 9 months. But for Elvis...damn i'd give him maybe like 2-3 kids. But this is a hard question because we know the man wasn't a fan of women who gave birth/had children soooo...if I could give him children and he'd still want to fuck me then thats a win Lol.

HOWEVER...the man has been in all of my tween sitcoms. Like, i had a massive crush on him from iCarly and Zoey101. that blew my mind when i found that out.

•How did you react at the end of the movie when In the Ghetto started to play A. I got up and fixed a snack because I have no soul, B. I left feeling alarmingly horny, C. I was impressed but didn’t realize how affected I was until days later when it was still with me D. I cried buckets they had to bring in a mop E. I may have appeared emotionless but in fact my soul was leaving my body and I don’t think it’s returned quite yet option E lol

Hey, I just need a little bit of a safe space to vent a little

I was one of the Jack writers that deactivated my account when the drama was at an all time high on this app. It was more of the straw that broke the camels back type of thing. I was already considering deactivating because of the lack of interaction my posts. Like I could get 300 notes on a fic I wrote, but it'll be like 4 reblogs (two probably being myself) and like 3 comments. Likes are great an all, but sometimes having more reaction or feedback would be really reassuring. I never want to beg for it, especially to not come off as entitled or anything, but it really broke my heart to see such a lack of interaction, but so many notes. I'd get requests and I would do my best to post them, but it'll still be crickets.

I know that as a writer I should be posting for my own enjoyment and not for likes or reblogs or whatever, but I'm here for community in my fangirling over Jack, but I felt like it was just not there. I would get so many asks for requests, so there's clearly a "service" I'm providing to the "people", but to not get much feedback really hurt to a point where I just deactivated. If it's gonna be crickets, then I might as well just keep my writing in my notes app instead.

Like I get it, I'm not entitled to anything on this app, and no one is forcing me to post, but then it just leaves me without community ya know. I just never really knew how to feel or how to address it without coming off as entitled or a bitch, especially when I do get plenty of likes.

First things first: You are entitled to feel the way you feel sweetie! Never think otherwise!

I can’t speak for writers but I will tag this and hope they add their input, but I know for me I always reblog fics because it’s more exposure for the writers I love.

I think sometimes it gets overlooked and some just like a post and don’t think anything else of it.

I always try to engage or comment or reblog but that’s because I’ve been on this app long enough to know that it matters.

I hope you know that from at least the writers and readers I know, that you are always welcome to share your writing. I know it can be frustrating not getting the interaction you want but remember that you are getting some and there are those who love and read your work. Do what you feel comfortable doing and what you feel is best!

I know for a while things were tense and that trickled down to everything and everyone felt it. I hope, from how things have been, that everyone has moved on. We have all said what we said and stand where we stand.
