First things first it is so interesting to see Nora writing from not one but TWO new people's perspective. Jean's perspective is just devastating being inside his head is heartbreaking the constant fear and panic and how much of his energy is used on just pushing down every memory of what was done to him. His coping mechanisms are terrifying and i truly do hope by the end of book 2 he has a healthier way of dealing with it bc baby boy stop hurting yourself :( Every sentence was so painful to read. But also his resilience the entire time to get through it no matter what, god i fucking love him!!! He is a fighter.

Jeremy's perspective is sooooo refreshing. He is such a little sweetheart i could cry. The fact that he sends hand written letters and he's so caring and genuine but he can also be so stern. When he dropped that "i asked you a question" to Lucas fkehdjdfjdh OK SIR. I'M SAT. His relationship with the family butler is so endearing as well i need more background on that for sure! My only one criticism is that he didn't have enough pov chapters and i'm hoping we'll learn more in the second book of course because there's still so much about him and his (dysfunctional? toxic?) family dynamic that we don't know yet but also i'm greedy and i wanna know EVEYTHING about him !!!

Kevin and Jean are so just tragic it actually breaks my fucking heart like "you didn't have to slit my throat on the way out" JEAN??? and "promise me you won't try again. I can't lose you." KEVIN??? And the fact that Jean to this day is still keeping that promise. Also Jean's obvious but secret long term crush on Kevin the way it's subtly dropped every time Jean has to stamp down on his desire's and "temptations" GOD PLEASE I CAN'T STAND IT

Neil and Jean oh my God like where do i even start?? The guilt Jean feels at what happened to Neil in the Nest and him finally calling him by his name after Riko's death and telling him his game was good. And Neil seriously needs to give himself more credit for how much of a caring person he is because the way he indirectly told Jean that he thinks he is worth saving and didn't even hesitate before asking Stuart to send someone after That Guy after what Jean told him. Neil Josten the man that you are!!!

Jean's little sister Elodie what a beautiful name. Them being so close and him reading to her. The way he found out about her death jolted me differently. It was so awful and i'm so sorry Jean didn't get to see her grow up and meet her again.

Renee and Jean oh my god. Jean thinking she's beautiful (bitch me toooo) And the whole right person wrong time ugh i can't stand it. Him wearing her necklace all the time, enough that Jeremy always notices it. And unabashedly stealing her picture from the foxes lounge. Like he did not give a fuck. He said this one is mine. One good reason to stay alive being rainbows i'm gonna FKSJSKDHDH. Theirs would be such a soft love.

Speaking of soft loves Laila and Cat are EVERYTHINGGGG. God they are so cute with their little domestic life and their rich gay boy son who crashes on their couch with his cardboard cut out dog. That whole friendship dynamic is beautiful. Their fierce protectiveness and care over Jean as well and the patience they have with him even after the little kitchen incident. When Cat took Jean out for a drive on her motorcycle god that was such a heart warming moment and Jean helping them cook as well and becoming the girls' little sous chef it's so cute so endearing !!!

FINALLY FINALLY THE JEREJEAN DYNAMIC

PLEASE I'M GONNA SCREAM

Jeremy being the one who told Jean that Riko was dead i don't even know what to begin with THAT like hhhhhhh. The way they're both stupidly attracted to each other but won't/can't do anything about it. THE WHOLE "say yes Jeremy" SCENE WTF WAS THATTT I WAS GOING INSANEEEE. Both of them having to stop mid sentence when they catch the other looking FINE as hell. Jean being so obvious that even Lucas picks up on the way he looks at Jeremy. Jeremy being there to ground Jean in a Moment and helping him come down from it. Grabbing his face and telling him he's okay. Moving into the room with him to make him feel more comfortable !! The way Jean grabs Jeremy's chin (boiiiii). Jeremy constantly reminding Jean that he is NOT A RAVEN ANYMORE no matter how many times he has to say it. Jeremy saying he'll wait as long as it takes until Jean speaks to him. JEREMY GIVING HIM A HUG AND JEAN CLUTCHING DESPERATELY TO HIS SHIRT FUUCUFHDHSJHSSUHDH and then the "will you help me?" And the "Anything you need" AND THEY'RE GOING TO TAKE A CERAMICS CLASS TOGETHER?!?!?!!!! i can't i can't i can't i caaan'ttt

I think her main special interest is absolutely arts / crafts, I mean look at all the silly things she makes throughout the series as well as her dedication to handmaking dozens of puppets/props/etc as well as writing and entire play to impress her crush of the week in Sock Opera. ◇ I think sexuality wise she's not straight but prefers to be unlabelled. I also like to think she's the type to collect xenogenders / neopronouns like pokemon cards. ( she totally uses a bunch of cat-based pronouns) ◇ Shortly after the series I think she'd get a little less Boys-Crazy and focus more exploring who she is as a person / her self expression. Absolutely is gonna have a mall goth/emo/scene phase (she's smushing all three of those together into one thing for herself).

◇ Also AuDHD, not quite sure what his big main special interest would be but he's absolutely hyperfixated on Ducktective. Also going off the story in Lost Legends I think he'd absolutely be getting into making comics / drawing in general (even if hes not great at it). Post series I think he'd spend a lot of his free time out at sea drawing in the boat's cabin. Mostly making comics of silly re-tellings of he and Ford's adventures out at Sea (he absolutely shows Dipper and Mabel these if he and Ford video calls them when they're on land) ◇ I'm a transfem Stanley truther. He doesn't really realize/come to terms with it until post-series. I think she'd just grow out her hair and throw it in a pony-tail + use she/he pronouns to transition. She'd still use the name Stanley and be fine with both masc/fem terms (ie fine be called a man or a woman). Also he's bisexual (but has known this since he was like a teen, even if he didn't have the words to label it.) ◇ I think his Popsicle addiction from the unaired pilot is real and canon. Old autistic men love popsicles just look at my dad and grandfather.

I snuck in a lil treat of my work in progress housewarden card. The jumpscare it was to toggle my version with the og card underneath, y'all. Am I making my version of pretty much all his cards? Yes. Will they ever be finished? Who knows? Anyways, onto the headcanons...

- Physically, I feel like I changed a lot and not a lot at the same time. I gave him some more scars which I guarantee you are from really stupid accidents.

- Piercing on his ears just cause I felt they fit him and snakebites because (I'm so down bad for them) it gave the illusion of fangs even with his mouth closed. Gave him moles cause they're pretty.

- I textured his hair and gave him a shit ton more because if the og design won't AT LEAST give him fluffier hair, what's the point? Yana Toboso, if you don't give this man a high ponytail in the Clubwear Card, I will hunt you down. Also made his front, larger braids the colour of Cheka's (And presumably Farena's) hair because honestly? They didn't really look similar enough? Also threw in some smaller braid to 'tie' them in more (haha).

- Someone gave him like this cool inverted pupil due to a scene in the movie but I simplified it to basically heterochromia.

- This might be hardly noticeable but I give give him slightly more muscle? I felt it suited him more idk.

- Onto non-physical headcanons, he has 💕depression💕! This is kinda not up for debate given how much he exemplifies the symptoms. Hell, he made me realise that I may have depression cause I was like, "Damn, he's so relatable, not wanting to get out of bed, no motivation to do anything, struggling to care of himself. He just like me frfr- oh..."

- By the way, I see a lot of people talking about Ruggie's reaction to the fallout of Book 2 but I think that on Leona's side, he felt horrible and probably locked himself away for a WHILE. I think his mental state must have been terrible and I'm SO PISSED HIS FCKING PROBLEMS NEVER GOT BROUGHT AGAIN WTF! Well, I'm on Book 4 so maybe???

- Anyways, I saw someone posit he could also be autistic, more on the asymptomatic side which is actually growing on me a lot. Picky eater, doesn't like tighter clothes, not fond of loud noises, smaller things but I'm a fan.

- Really random but I like the idea that he's one of those people who kids love for literally no reason, he just doesn't like to be around them.

- Is actually extremely book smart, though that's kinda already canon but I mean this bitch was a nerd when he was younger. Knows way too much on various topics, especially about his homeland.

- He can purr. I know lion's can't but there are literal mer and fae. He's just a big kitty. My and Idia like 🤞 when it comes to thinking of Leona as just a big meow. I have a cat who doesn't like anyone but I'm her favourite, I could win him over.

God I love my bigender child.

- I made him black, though probably mixed and gave him vitiligo for both visual flavour and a mild(?) reference to like hyena spots?

- He originally was going to have her hair down but then I realised how many of them had their natural hair already so I gave him dreads? I'll have to render them out at some point.

- Gave her more scars too, since she grew up in a more rough environment. Made his eyes really big and cute 'cause I feel like she can get extras when she hits 'em with the puppy eyes.

- Probably got mad ADHD, has to constantly be fiddling with something or another. Wears spinny rings a lot. He's actually really good at paying attention in class and likes to learn.

- Steals from Leona, whether it's money or items or clothes he leaves out (which, while Leona would never admit, he purposefully leaves out for Ruggie).

- Oh and a post pointed out that hyenas can purr, so have fun with that.

That's mostly it for now, but expect this list to grow lmao.

(he/him) - Queer (he doesn't know lol, just knows he likes dudes at this point)

Not me struggling to find a weight emoji (I failed) 😭😭😭

- Ah, I made a reference in the Heartslabyul post about my concern about darker skinned characters with white hair and I was mainly talking about Jack. I also had to make Kiki, and I figured that wolves have pretty naturally salt-and-pepper hair, so why not. I actually love how it looks omg, it's very pretty and marbled.

- Gave him darker skin, since I headcanon him as black but I did see someone who designed him as indigenous so it might change in the future idk. Also it makes his eyes almost glow and I love that for him.

- He gets more scars too, though likely from sports rather than fights or anything.

- He's autistic. Apologies that so many of them are autistic to me, not only am I autistic but like, the way they're written speaks to me. His whole moral compass being the reason for Book 2 playing out like it did was an immediate 'yes' from me. He's my boy and my son and I will fistfight anyone that smack talks him (looking at those Savannaclaw NPCs in one of Deuce's vignettes).

- Oh, I forgot. He listens to K-Pop. I don't know if it?s canon that he has younger siblings, though I totally think he does, but one of them accidentally got him into K-Pop and J-Pop so whenever he's at the gym, that's what he's listening to lmao. Specifically girl groups, he likes them enough that he knows all their names. He insists it's out of respect, which it is but he's also lowkey a stan too lol.

- Generally has a weakness for cute things, even if he doesn't show it. Also a total plant nerd omg. He could instruct you on pretty much any houseplant on how much sunlight and water it needs, seasonal changes, etc.

Final note is that I'll make a separate post about him and Epel, cause I love them and have some headcanons there too.

- Twisted from Rafiki? I think that's his name, the baboon. I'm crying sobbing throwing up that you can't see her eyes in this.

- She got the white hair since the fur on a baboon is directly white and took inspiration from Dislyte's Isis design. Her eyes are a pale gold like her earrings and she has red to blue eye shadow.

- Natural resting bitch face but she's just tired most of the time. She'd probably be the actual vice housewarden as I think her family has been close to Leona's for a long time, though she earned her spot with her own skills.

- Additionally, I wouldn't call her and Leona 'childhood friends' but she's known him for a long time. She's like, concerned about him as he's changed so much but she also worries that it's not her place. As a result, she tries to make sure Ruggie's not taking on too much and handles most of the dormhead duties herself.

- Mandisa is also based on the hyenas, though I don't know if her and Ruggie are from the same pack necessarily.

- I gave her scars, moles, and some piercings as well, I just felt like they'd suit her.

- I think she and Jack would be relatively similar in terms of personality, I see her being the gruffer upperclassmen. I think she'd be rather protective of the first years, knowing how harsh the older dorm members can be and she does her best to make everyone feel welcome.

- She and my Yzma character met as first years and have been inseparable since, though I'll talk more about that later.

- She's got scars, was definitely bullied as a kid and I think that once the dorm members consider her a part of the pack, they'd be super overprotective as a result.

- That being said, she's more than capable of defending herself as she's good at various martial arts.

- She's into rock music and joined the music club as a result. Probably a drummer or guitarist as I think she's insecure about her voice.

- She and Mandisa are quite close and she convinced them to dye the edges of her hair red. Abayomi wanted touch up hers and managed to get Mandisa in on to lol.

blown away by how Subpar and Ok this game is. Gameplay loop is sooooo basic and Just Alright. ive played TF2 custom rocket jump/surf maps that have more depth and challenge than anything in Neon White so far. I would keep playing for the story but oh my god i can not be forced to care about these characters theyre so bland and lifeless. It genuinely feels like the most cookie cutter set of characters ever.

you look at your watch. 9:34. 26 more minutes of your break. the weather outside was gorgeous and the cafe wasn’t as crowded as it usually is. probably because it’s the weekend, but nonetheless, you use this as a prime opportunity to make yourself a matcha latte with oatmilk and head outside to make progress on the book you were reading. hm, maybe a mochi donut wouldn’t hurt either. 

you loved working as a barista here, and you wouldn’t change it for the world, but it’s hard to see the quiet of the city during the weekdays when everyone from public safety was scrambling to grab a coffee before their next meeting. you rarely took up weekend shifts, but today just felt different. maybe your monotonous life would change today, despite how far-fetched that sounded. 

you’re far too engrossed in your book, and so you don’t pay attention to who’s coming and going, and who’s waiting outside for their drinks.

“hey, wait, are you reading fourth wing?” you turn to look at the inquisitive voice and come face to face with a woman wearing a public safety uniform and large eyepatch over one of her eyes. the other is bright green and sparkles distractingly at you. her hair is shorn in a practical short haircut, but she pulls it off well, you note. she smells slightly of cigarettes and peppermint, and leans a little too close when looking over your shoulder, but strangely, you don’t mind.

“o-oh, yeah, it is” you say, taken aback by her. “i loved that book! finished it in a week” she says, laughing softly. 

 “you public safety folks got time to read now?” you say playfully. she laughs. “yeah, well, had some extra time on my hands after my partner passed so what better way to spend it than reading some smutty fiction?”

her forwardness catches you off guard. “oh my god, i’m so sorry!” you say, clapping a hand over your mouth in horror. how were you supposed to know that?! the woman’s eye doesn’t stop sparkling, however, to your surprise. still wearing her warm smile, she continues. 

“yeah, he was a sweet kid. it was hard to lose him, but he’s hardly the first partner i’ve lost, and he won’t be the last.” she shrugs. “that’s life in public safety, i guess. that’s what makes escaping so nice,” she finishes, gesturing at your book. you’ve since closed fourth wing in favor of hanging onto her every word. 

“don’t you get scared for your own safety?” you can’t help asking, your voice sounding small and meek. you must look so pathetic to her, flogging cute little drinks all day while she’s out risking life and limb. 

she laughs again. “obviously! every day of my life! but we can’t let something little like fear get in the way of us living our lives. that’s why i try to appreciate the little things, like reading fun books and visiting my favorite cafe! seriously, the drinks you guys make give me the will to live!” (you have to tell yourself to calm down at that, since you suddenly feel all blushy and silly and shy like a schoolgirl nursing a crush at the fact that pochita’s is her favorite cafe.)

still, you can’t help but wonder how it would feel for her, to lose everybody she got close to — and to have to expect it to happen over and over again. you can’t imagine what a lonesome existence it must be, and it makes your chest ache to think of someone as warm and gregarious as her being left alone again and again.   

damn, all this sucks for her. but you couldn’t ignore how warm she made you feel inside when she said that. you can see it in her eyes – despite what she’s been through, she’s like everyone else: a little bit lonely and looking for connection. “i’m so sorry to hear that…” oh shit, you realize you don’t even know her name. 

“himeno.” “himeno,” you repeat back. her name feels like it belongs in your mouth. “i’m glad you can at least come here and get away for a bit,” gesturing to the cafe. 

himeno laughs, once again, but this time her soft laugh makes your heart beat a tiny bit faster. “yeah, only for a bit. gotta back and finish up some paperwork with my team.” she says, gesturing to the public safety building a couple blocks away. 

you’re quiet for a second, and then make a snap decision. getting up from your seat, you ask her, “what’re you having today? i’ll make it for you.”

she seems taken aback. “oh, i was just here getting coffees for my team,” she replied, pointing to the tray of takeaway cups on her table. “besides, aren’t you on break?”

you smile at her and boldly decide to squeeze her hand. “i’ll make it for you,” you repeat. “and it’ll be on the house. now, what’s your drink?”

“uh…i’ll have whatever you were having,” she says; endearingly she suddenly seems a little shy. “it looked really good when you were drinking it.” 

“oat matcha it is!” you grin inwardly; you definitely know your way around a matcha whisk, and you’re excited at a little chance to show off to himeno. 

you both head inside and continue chatting as you prepare her drink. you note with satisfaction that she intently watches your expert hands at work. you look at himeno’s hands, and wonder what it’s like to hold them, have them hold you, hold each other close. 

your thoughts almost get the better of you but you snap out of it. you decide to throw a little lavender essence in, too; something about himeno just inspires you to go all out.

you hand himeno her drink, and you find yourself wishing you could speak to her longer. you usually did nothing during your breaks, so you’ll miss this stark contrast. 

himeno, seemingly to have read your mind, smiles sweetly. “thanks. by the way…” she pretends to think for a bit. “what’s a pretty little thing like you doing working on a saturday?”

you try hard to hide the blush uncontrollably rushing to your cheeks. “i could say the same for you.” she raises her hands up in defeat. “okay, okay, you got me. we both don’t have lives and are working on the weekend.” she jests, and you laugh. you think you’ll laugh at anything she says. 

you’re already on a roll with bold moves today so might as well go for it. “well, you doing anything later after work?”

himeno beams at you. “thought you’d never ask.” she quickly takes out a pen and grabs a napkin from the counter as she scribbles her number on it. “when do you get off?”

“3 in the afternoon,” you say, sounding giddy like a schoolgirl. 

“okay then, text me at 3.” she then gives you a smile so suave it should be illegal. “i’ll be waiting, beautiful.”

gen ii - cyndaquil. the actual best pokemon ever created. baby. little baby. favorite. kiss.

gen iii - treecko. especially in the remakes with the introduction of the mega evolution giving this baby the dragon typing. huff huff. leaf blade was a broken ass move.

gen iv - i went chimchar specifically bc of power up punch. broken ass move. also his speed was absolute coconuts. bit of a glass cannon in the elite 4 tho

gen v - i didn't love any of these at the time, but i went with oshawatt because i really hate pigs and snivy has terrible stats. (early childhood trauma. dont worry about it.) razor shell is a pretty good move though.

gen vi - fennekin. ohhh my god this little bitch is so busted. greninja is also very good but the psychic/fire type combo with that insane special stat is just. chef kiss. i do always restart to get modest though, just to edge out that little bit more. every time i do a nuzlock she always carries me.

gen vii - i went with popplio, largely because the fairy type is so strong typically. i was kind of disappointed with how little utility it got overall, though. i think late game litten would have ultimately been a better choice. i just. really hate incineroar's design lmao

gen viii - scorbunny. pyroball is soooo broken jesus

gen ix - i went with sprigatito because the design was sooooo cute and i was fascinated by the grass/dark typing. so even though fuecoco is inarguably the stronger pokemon bc of torch song (again. busted ass move) i like weed cat
