Do you think ntt solomare story jar is worth it? I miss a lot of those old swd games that are on the app (mononoke kiss, nifiheim, etc) (I have blood and Rose's still!) But I've heard some p negative things too like it costs an very scarce in game c8rrency to read chapters. What do you think?
oh my i have some things to say about this app so buckle up whdjsjsj BUT ALSO BLOOD IN ROSES PLS HMU I WANT TO TALK ABT THE GAME SOBS NYWAYS ONTO STORY JAR!!
also an ask on my main after so long i got thrown back to when this blog was an imagines blog for fate series sobs i miss those good days
I find Story Jar fine as an app since it gives you more accesibility to a whole variety of games for free, which includes some of their previous games which most of them happened to be paid games.
They also include free games as well and even adding a route to an old game. (If you’re wondering, the game is Lost Island+, I got dared to play it by a friend and I just so happened to play it a few years ago so it brought back some memories)
Most of the games do not change at all in terms of story or character. However, I do find the aspect that you are not given an introductory page to a character before playing it a bit of a hassle.
I’m going to use my experiences from playing Lost Island+ here because that’s like the only game I’ve played before that’s in Story Jar LOL
I played the game before so I vaguely knew what every character was like at the start, even if I haven’t played it in 3 years. So I went into every suitor’s routes knowing with a gist of what to expect because they had character introduction sheets back when Lost Island+ had its own app.
But if a new player were to play the game with no knowledge of any of the characters whatsoever, it would be hard to kind of just pick a route on the spot without any introduction to the character. (Especially how character introduction pages are pretty much the eyecatcher for the audience in order to allow the audience to get to know the characters beforehand before picking a route that fits their tastes with the suitor that they’re interested in.)
Some of the stories in Story Jar reads more like a Visual Novel than otome too. You are giving 2 Story Tickets per 4 hours and the maximum amount you can have is 2, on the contrary to the 5 Story Tickets/20 Hours you get in previous games. This allows you to play more within a day, which is something I rather like so reading chapters of a story isn’t considered scarced resources.
However, the problem lies within the choices you are offered to choose from in said chapters.
Diamond is the premium currency for this and for your first 10 days or so of login for Story Jar, you get an extra 50 Diamonds or so for the new player bonus. But then, you only get 1 or 2. Once you finish a chapter, you also get a diamond and so forth. But the problem comes with the rarity of these Diamonds and how you use them.
When the player is given a choice, there will be 1 to 3 choices that are an option.
One choice will always be free, needing no diamonds.
The other will require at least 10 or so Diamonds, 5 if you are lucky.
And if you are given a third one, the amount of diamonds needed to choose the third option just goes up.
The problem is that if you want the good ending, you need to spend a lot of diamonds which, after your first 10 days of login, are extremely hard to get by if you are F2P.
Depending on what story you play from their huge catalogue of stories to choose from, you have either 2-3 choices to make per chapter, which can amount to roughly 20-40 diamonds per chapter. That is a total of more less a whole month worth of logging in the app consecutively if you’re done with your first 10 days or so of log in bonuses or just whaling through for the good ends and the CGs and the cost of diamonds are expensive, you’re better off mining them in Minecraft shdjsjsjs
like hun do i look like im rich enough to dump all my bills on this app i have ryoma fire emblem merchandise to buy—
nyways thats my take on story jar!! i hope i didnt sound too patronizing ;;v;; i didn’t mean to give off that vibe im just throwing my thoughts out there but yeah thats it shdjsjdjsjs sorry if my vibe took a wholeass 180 i just feel more professional and ppl will take me more seriously if i write this like how i would write a paper for school ahdjsjsjsjsjs
Hope this helps a lot!! i was surprised to get an ask on this LOL hope u have a good day too 💖💖
