am having the weirdest issue w/ this dvd i bought online, where like, it plays but the video is deeply fucked up and jerky/skipping therefore unsyncing it from the audio (which is fine). BUT. only on the xbox. i found one single solitary review saying it ended up working fine on a regular dvd player and lo and behold, tried it on my dad's laptop and it's true! How? Why? We are now THESTARHQ and all pages have been updated to reflect the change to roleplay premise outlined in my previous admin post. Stat points aren't listed anymore. Are those still a thing?

No, they are not! Booking points are the sole point form now to simplify the process.

Did booking points change?

Not majorly. It's still the same basic system: 1) earn points from activity checks and events/tasks and then 2) redeem a set number of points for a new career item. One point is now earned for each passed activity check and each event prompt or task prompt completed. Consequently, five points is now the set cost of a career item. This allows more regularity and nuance in tracking booking points. I have already converted everyone's points to the new amounts and these can be found on the official admin tracking of booking points here. You don't technically need to track your own, but you're welcome and encouraged to if you want to doublecheck and ensure I don't miss anything.

Do we still need to submit a form to the points blog to earn booking points?

No, you'll only need to submit a form to redeem booking points for a career item. Booking points will be automatically tracked. (If something that should earn you point doesn't show up on the dash, please send a link to the main!)

Are mun-created collectives still a thing?

Not in the format they were before with formal applications. Survey results showed people seem to be more partial to either only canon collectives or having both around, so the formal focus is going to be on canons. It's still possible to have a group such as an idol group, band, or dance crew involved in your muse's past, present, or future that isn't a preset canon, though. The only major limit is that non-canon groups must have been formed and debuted under a non-canon label, if applicable. They can behave signed under a canon label at a later time, debuts are limited to the canons. Beyond that, just list any major activities involving the group on the muse's career page. You can make claims for them, but they'll need to count toward the four moment limit per year (unlike canons' activities). If you would like other muses involved in it, submit a wanted connection form!

Are there any new blogs to follow?

For the most part, everything's just had its name converted, such as The Source now being Star Source. I will ask everyone to follow STAR Labels, which is where company-related content will be posted.

So, cat update time. Took Gar and Simon to the Vet on Tuesday, Gar's condition hadn't improved and Simon was getting dehydrated and showing signs of a pancreatitus flare up.

Got Simon hydrated up with a saline injection, and he got an anti-nausea shot to help his appetite as well as blood drawn so they can check his kidney levels--they had to send out for testing, haven't heard the results yet but I've been giving him liquid steroid twice a day and he's basically back to his normal self already.

Gar stayed at the vet for more intensive treatment, the vet said his bladder felt rock hard. :( They said they were able to do catheterization without having to sedate him, which was good. His urine is looking good today, but they're going to do surgery to remove any remaining crystals. We should be able to bring him home tomorrow, if everything goes OK.

So. This is going to be a whopper of a veterinary bill... my guesstimate based on the "high" estimates they showed us on Tuesday is around $1200. I'm gonna need some help paying that. :-/ ahahaha and here I was feeling good these past couple months about not having to beg for food or rent money for awhile.

With the new online payment tax rules, I'm not entirely sure how to go about fundraising for bill payments anymore... I imagine PayPal payments sent as "to friends and family" automatically don't count as income, but third-party donations thru places like ko-fi always come marked as if they were a purchase... even though they're not.

Gahh, I mean, at this rate I might as well go ahead and set up a ko-fi fundraising goal for paying this bill. I've already received over the $600 non-reporting limit this year, and eventually I'm gonna need to figure out how to report that it was all donations to pay for emergency expenses, anyway. If that even makes a difference in the eyes of the IRS.

Trying to not beat myself up about this, but I can't help feeling like I failed my cats. I think it was the temperature drop last week plus our grocery stores running our of the regular catfood that triggered Gar's issues... but I've also been having difficulty getting their water bowls washed out everyday, and that's on me and my fluctuating energy levels. :(

Day 18 Day of Return

After what was probably the worst night of sleep since I arrived in Japan, it was time to get up and go to the airport.

With only 3 hours of sleep, I was infinitely grumpy, angry with my bulky carry-on and... I directed it all to my husband. (Sorry!) I decided to repack my carry-on again, this time moving all the food to a seperate bag, so I was left with two somewhat bulky bags instead of one super bulky one... Which felt better.

Thankfully our trip to Narita Airport was a very straight one. Just get on the right metro, and it'll automatically turn into the Keise Sky Acces Line. Getting to the airport was no hassle at all, thankfully.

As announced the day before our flight would be leaving 45 minutes later than originally planned, but the arrival time should remain the same.

Suitcases were dropped off, customs inspections went pretty smoothly and... Then we were left with nearly 1.5 hour until boarding!

After going round the shops for a bit, we sat down at the gate and... waited. Then received a very helpfull announcement that sounded like our flight was delayed, because of a delay. But yeah, we already knew we were delayed, so who cares. Time of departure was still scheduled for 12.15 according to the screens.

Time passed and passed. Both me and my husband were called to the counter, because we both forgot to remove a power bank from our suitcases. (I'm pretty sure it was in there on the flight to Japan as well and it didn't get flagged then, but... Well...) Another announcement spoke off a delay of our flight, due to a traffic jam, but... The English was a bit broken, so I didn't really get it. Figured it must be really crowded in the airspace again, as it was on our day of departure.

Departure time was still scheduled for 12.15. But aven at 11.45, boarding had yet to start. Stranger even, the ground staff didn't seem to make any preparations for boarding either... It was only then that I noticed that, according to the screens, boarding would start at 12.20. Excuse me!? Boarding starts after departure!? What's going on. No updates were given, at all. Eventually a google search showed the latest update put our departure at 12.45,but none of that showed on the screens at the gate.

In the end, it turned out that the whole flight crew had gotten stuck in a 2 hour traffic jam on their way to the airport. So, in the end we left about 2 hours later than originally planned! And accordingly arrived a bit later too.

This probably was the first flight ever that did not return the usual route over land, but instead headed for Alaska, North pole and Greenland. Meaning we mostly flew above water.

It also surprised me how set they were on simulating a night, while it was very much a day flight on every sense. The immediately dimmed all lights after serving our very late lunch. Turned them briefly on for a midnight pasta meal. Then dimmed all lights again until about an hour before arrival. It completely threw me off! I did expect a couple hours of darkness for a quick nap, but not a whole flight! We left around 13.15 and we would arrive around 18.30. I get that you'd want to allow for some sleep, but... In essence it's just a really long day, no need to simulate a full night!!

I suppose this decision may have been the result of our unusual flight route, which would pretty much whip us through a night, instead of the usual extra long day with constant daylight, but... I'm pretty sure they could have turned the light on a bit sooner! By the time we arrived out was already completely dark outside...

Anyway, the flight went fine, up until maybe the last hour and a half, when nausea took over and... No eating would safe my life. Also, my mouth started drying up like no tomorrow and drinking water only seemed to make it worse. So, my flight pretty much ended a disaster, espacially once we started descending and my mouth was to dry to properly swallow and I couldn't keep up with the changing air pressure. Resulting in some painful ears. (Reminder, next time, bring chewing gum!)

Upon arrival, only one of the customs gates was open, and... A whole airplane needed to pas through. So, the line went painfully slow. They eventually opened up a second one, but... I was so exhausted by that point....I probably shouldn't have stuck to my plan to stay awake for the full flight. It would have worked had we left on the originally scheduled time, or if I had had a proper night of sleep beforehand, but...

My nausea subsided though, so that was nice. Until it came back in full force as my husband's father drove us home. I was suddenly so sick! Arriving home, I couldn't do anything but cry, and immediately went to bed. Had to get out to vomit. Except my whole stomach was apparently empty, so nothing came out. (When did I stop eating on that flight! I can't have been that long, right? Guess I messed up again...)

This vomit-no vomit situation repeated itself twice over the night. And I woke up the next morning still feeling nauseas. And terribly jet lagged.

I really need to learn to properly eat and sleep on my flights...

And thus ended my 2023 trip to Japan.

27 things you need to do before you settle down

Funny how I wrote things like that when I was younger. But it turned out to be a few things before I settled down. Maybe that's the reason why I still have things I want to do.

I still don't know how 1 to drive manually or automatically. But luckily, my husband knows how to. So, I'm a passenger princess and a waze coordinator. 2 Take a road trip. I didn't do that by myself, but we did it together.

I didn't have the chance 3 to travel with my best friends. But Jessa and I used to visit the beach with her brother, sister-in-law, and Jude. We also live together when we're in our last semester of college, and we reviewed for the board for a year in Baguio. I 4 live somewhere else, like 1 year in Baguio and 4 months somewhere in Manila. Now I'm living with my husband. I 5 live alone. But not literally alone because i have my rommies.

May 20, 2020, will be the day that I will be able 6 to see my favorite artist perform in the Araneta Coliseum. But it was postponed because of the pandemic and COVID lockdown restrictions. It was rescheduled two times: May 2, 2022, and November 3, 2022. And now we don't have any updates on whether it is still going to happen. I got my refund already.

I haven't 7 volunteered yet, but if I have the chance, I will soon. I wish I still could. 8 Learning to fight is on the list. But fighting evil is something I'm continuing to learn with God's help.

Rosita’s eyes blinked open and she let out a hum, today she got to sleep in. One of the nicer things about being a grad student was that she didn’t have classes in the morning. There had been that one her first semester, but she swore never again. And her department had so far allowed her to keep that promise.

She stared up at the ceiling and counted to ten to try and will herself out of the cozy embrace of her comforter. On her fourth try, she managed to pull herself from bed and wander to her coffee maker.

In between last minute formatting changes and almost missing deadlines, she had managed to set it to automatically brew. She let out another hum after her first sip and felt some life flicker back from beneath her eyelids.

Rosita grabbed her phone and flicked the screen on. Wynonna hadn’t texted her. Not, that it mattered. No, in the two days that had passed since their very memorable time in a bathroom (and really why was it in a bathroom), she hadn’t heard anything from Wynonna.

She’d also mostly been studying. 

But still.

Not that she had reached out to her, Rosita reminded herself. Last night, during her shift, she’d managed not to break anything (thank god), but did overpour a couple drinks when they barely made eye contact across the bar.

Wynonna hadn’t come up to her once, sending Doc or Dolls or, on one occasion, going to Waverly when Rosita was getting stuff from the basement.

It was fine. Everything was fine.

She was not freaking out. She hadn’t thought about it at all. It was not distracting her from getting her paper finished in a reasonable hour. It was just a kiss. Between friends. Who were fake dating other people and couldn’t tell anyone else and needed to let off a little steam. Sure, they both thought the other was attractive, but that’s just the cards they were dealt.

“Oh my god,” Rosita muttered aloud, “Did I really do this to myself?”

Because only she would end up fake dating someone’s sister who she’d sloppily made out with. What was she going to do?

Should she text? Rosita clasped her warm mug of coffee, no, she decided. It was nice, it was fun, she wouldn’t be opposed if it happened again, but she was not going to make this situation any more complicated than it needed to be. Not on purpose.

“You need to help me.” Rosita slammed her books onto the table and Jeremy jumped, clutching his chest.

“What?” He asked as he pulled off his headphones.

“You need to help me.” Rosita repeated, “I don’t know who else to ask.”

“Um thanks?”

Rosita took a seat. She had fifteen minutes before Waverly’s last class ended which gave her a max of thirty minutes to explain, “I have a problem. About Wynonna.”

“Waverly’s sister?”

“Yes, and she’s an idiot who almost blew our cover,” Rosita gestured at herself and where Waverly usually sat, “So she’s fake dating Nicole-”

“I already knew that.” Jeremy said.

“Yeah, that’s not the problem, the problem is that we sorta made out a bit in the bathroom after my shift one day, and now we’re both ignoring it, but I don’t know if I know how to ignore it. Because one, she’s super hot, and two, despite her horrible ideas I do enjoy plotting with her, and three, it’s not like I can kiss anyone else.”

“So, wait,” Jeremey said, “You’re asking me for relationship advice?”

“No! Well, fine, yes! Now, my problem.”

“I just, I’ve never even been in a relationship.”

“Jeremy.”

“Okay, okay, I can focus. Um,” He stared at her, “What exactly are you asking?”

Rosita laid her face on the table. It was the one they always used, so she hoped it was relatively clean. Of course, there was no way of knowing what went on when they weren’t here. She lifted her head up quickly. “Do I like her?”

“Wynonna?”

“Yes.”

“Do you?”

“I don’t know, that’s why I’m asking you.”

Jeremy opened his mouth and closed it several times. “Why would I know?”

“Jeremy!”

“Okay, okay,” Jeremy said, “So you’ve already mentioned that you think she’s hot and that you like spending time with her,” He put up two fingers, “I’m ignoring the part where you mentioned she’s the only one you can date,” He gestured around the library, “We literally go to a school that no one else in Purgatory does. You could date someone here.”

“Ugh.” Rosita grumbled.

“What else, oh, do you think about her a lot?” Jeremy asked.

“Wh-”

“Not when you’re annoyed about her and Nicole and keeping that from Waverly.” He cut in and Rosita’s mouth snapped closed.

“I mean yeah? I keep wanting her to text me or show up at my apartment.”

“Did this happen before?” He waggled his eyebrows in such a way that Rosita momentarily contemplated giving up men forever.

“Not really? I mean it’s happened since the whole situation, but I didn’t know her that well, so this is all new, but I do like seeing her.”

“I’ll give that a half.” Jeremy said and curled a finger so it looked like he had arthritis. “Let’s see, let’s see,” They settled into silence as he drummed on the table trying to think of something else. “Have you thought about a future with her?”

“A future?”

“Yeah, like are you imagining what it would look like if you were dating?”

Rosita leaned back, “No? I’ve never considered it,” Her mind now whirled with images of what it would be like and realized she’d never seen Wynonna in a serious relationship before, “But Wynonna doesn’t really date and stuff.”

“Oh, so this would just be a hookup,” He smirked.

“Jeremy!” Rosita kicked him under the table.

“What’s wrong?” Waverly’s voice came from nowhere and they both whipped around and stared at her in horror. “Do I have something on my face?” She asked.

“No! Everything’s fine!” Jeremy screeched. Rosita kicked him under the table again and he gave a smile that looked like a grimace.

“Nothing you can help us with.” Rosita said. “Just biochem.”

“Yep those pesky molecules.” Jeremy kept the dumb smile on his face.

“Okay?” 

Rosita sighed, that didn’t help. She should have known there was no point in asking Jeremy.

Rosita sees them before they see her, and she can only thank god for small miracles. Wynonna and Nicole are leaving the police station, likely ending their shifts, and Rosita isn’t proud that she tries to hide behind a car.

It’s a good thing that no one in Purgatory knows her mother.

Of course, Purgatory also means that there’s no alleys between here and her apartment, no shops she could justifiably duck into. So, unless they are completely wrapped up with each other they will see her.

And since Nicole and Wynonna aren’t in love, she will just need to grin and bear it.

It was just a kiss.

There’s nothing to be weird about.

Not even if she’d thought a lot about getting Wynonna into her apartment for something more than a kiss.

Rosita smiled at them once Nicole spotted her and immediately grabs Wynonna’s hand.

“Hi Rosita.” Nicole said. “Wynonna and I were just on a date.”

“A date?” Rosita and Wynonna both say.

Rosita bit her lip to keep from laughing as Nicole slammed her boot onto Wynonna’s foot. It wouldn’t have worked even if Wynonna didn’t let out a grunt and stumble, only to be caught by Nicole still gripping her hand.

“At the police station?” Rosita can’t help herself.

“Yes,” Nicole agreed, “Wynonna and I just have so much fun together. Anywhere.” 

Wynonna stared at Nicole like she’d announced they were both going sober.

“What did you do on your date?” Rosita never claimed to be a good person.

Nicole’s eyes widen and she elbowed Wynonna, “Just got released.” Wynonna said, “I picked up Nicole, she got a bit drunk last night. You know how it gets. ” Nicole’s jaw dropped in an expression of pure outrage. Wynonna winked at Rosita, “Nicole’s a wild thing.”

“I’ve heard that about redheads.” Rosita questioned like they were talking about the weather.

Wynonna and her ignore Nicole choking beside them.

“The rumors are true,” Wynonna nodded and cocked her hip, “They’ll suggest things you’ve never dreamed of.”

“In her uniform?” Rosita questioned.

Wynonna leaned forward and for a split second Rosita swore Wynonna’s eyes darted down to her lips. “You would not believe what we’ve gotten up to with those handcuffs.”

“Wynonna!” Nicole pulled Wynonna down the street by her collar, practically dragging her through the street. “Sorry, need to go. Dinner!” And marched her off.

Rosita watched them, trying and failing to keep from laughing. As they disappear from sight she made her way into her apartment. She shivered, despite the fact it, for once, isn’t actually that cold. She could have sworn Wynonna’s last words were a promise.

Waverly: is it true????

Wavelry: you have to tell me!!!

Rosita: tell you what?

Waverly: did Nicole spend the night at the station?

Rosita: why would i know that?

Wavelry: Nicole said she saw you with Wynonna

Rosita: i just saw them leaving the station

Waverly: i can’t believe this

Rosita: did nicole really not come home last night?

Waverly: I have no idea

Waverly: I went to bed early and got up early

Waverly: I didn’t hear her last night

Waverly: I can’t be around her right now

Rosita: you can come over if you want

Rosita lifted the squealing kettle off her stove, hoping that the tea is as calming and soothing as the packaging suggests. She took a glance at her couch, where Waverly is still laying down pretending that she’s not crying.

She felt horrible. She’s questioned herself multiple times since this charade started, but this time, well, they don’t have any excuse.

Why Nicole had felt the need to tell Waverly the obvious lie that Wynonna said was beyond her. She hadn’t even had a chance to text Wynonna because Waverly had shown up almost instantaneously after she offered. 

“I just, I can’t believe it!” Waverly had hiccuped. “Wynonna’s getting her in trouble and she’s getting thrown in the drunk tank.”

It really had to be the only time that Waverly hadn’t clocked all of her roommate’s movements.

Though, what would Waverly do if she knew that Nicole was lying?

Maybe the two would finally talk about their feelings?

No, Rosita admitted to herself, if that was the case they would have been together a long time ago.

“She didn’t look that bad,” Rosita said.

“And that makes it better?”

Rosita handed the tea cup to Waverly, who took it with a sniffle. “It’s going to be alright.”

“I thought Nicole would help balance Wynonna!”

Rosita sighed, “I don’t think anyone can balance Wynonna.”

“It wasn’t supposed to be like this!”

It really wasn’t.

“It will be alright.”

“How?” Waverly cried.

Rosita rubbed small circles on Waverly’s back and tried to come up with an answer. It was fake? Nicole definitely did not get mini arrested? She’d probably be fired if she got thrown into the drunk tank in uniform, so obviously it wasn’t real? “It was one date,” Rosita settled on, “Did you think they wouldn’t go on dates?”

“I don’t know!” Waverly took a sip of the tea and frowned at it. Great, Rosita thought, it probably tasted horrible and full of anxiety. “I just, I forget, you know, when Nicole’s home and we do dinner together, that she’s dating my sister. And this, it just hit me. They’re together doing things without me and will for the rest of their lives.” Waverly sighed. “It’s stupid.”

“No. It’s nowhere near as stupid as deciding to fake date your coworker to make your roommate jealous.” Waverly gave a weak smile. “You’re allowed to be heartbroken, you can’t just bottle this up and will it out of existence. I mean, are you getting a little ahead of yourself about the rest of their lives? Yeah, let them get through a month first.”

Which they wouldn’t, Rosita was certain. She was privately betting that Nicole would break it off after getting fed up with Wynonna’s antics. It really was a shame that Jeremy refused to put any money up because he “hadn’t actually met them.”

“Well I want to,” Waverly said with a determined pout that made her look absolutely adorable, “I don’t want to feel this. It’s pathetic.”

Rosita rubbed circles on her back. “I’m sorry, that’s just a part of being human.”

“It sucks.”

“Yeah.” Rosita said, “Sometimes it does.”

She hoped this would still be a fun story to tell at their wedding.

The only nice thing about grad school (okay that was a little dramatic) was that it was able to completely distract her from the mess of her personal life. Wynonna and her were, well, not avoiding each other, but not not avoiding each other. Wavelry and Nicole were both still reeling from the supposed date, and Rosita was able to focus on the fact that her professors hated her.

She couldn’t prove it, but the fact they’d all assigned papers due in the same week had to mean something. They were in the same department! They probably had some academic calendar where they had to put all the major assignments and tests, and yet, Rosita did not have her laptop open underneath the counter during her shift.

Not for lack of trying.

Her behemoth of a laptop didn’t fit neatly into a spot that didn’t contain seventeen water hazards, and she really couldn’t afford to break her laptop. Not just for figuring out where she would get the money to replace it. If her school work disappeared into the ether she would probably just drop the program.

She was not going through these headaches again.

At least Wednesdays were chill enough that she couldn’t keep a notebook and pencil out where she could write anything that swam to her head as she tried to figure out these stupid proofs. If Professor Di Vito wasn’t so fucking respected she would have quit his class the first week of the semester.

But no, she needed that sweet, sweet recommendation letter.

“Can I get the usual?” Sheriff Nedley’s rasp woke her up from her last scribblings (ones she knew were pointless, but if she didn’t get them out of her head soon she would drown herself and probably break something).

“Yes, of course.” Rosita nodded and then went to fiddle with the ancient coffee maker that only knew how to burn coffee. Not that Nedley seemed to mind. “Is that all?”

He let out a hum, one of the annoying ones that residents here did to mean, you’re not a fucking local, if you were you would know what I was saying with this monosyllabic grunt, and stared at her as he took a sip of the coffee. Rosita barely prevented herself from wincing. That stuff was not good.

She’d tried it once when she’d had to come straight from a lecture and two labs and work to closing. She still wasn’t sure the caffeine was worth it.

“You know that Waverly’s a very special girl.” He said.

Rosita bit back a cough and straightened up. Oh, so it would be one of these. “Yes.” If she was Nicole or some other suckup she would add a sir, but they were in her place of work. Granted, this was the only place Nedley and her ever saw each other, but that was beside the point.

His eyes narrowed at her. “I’m sure you know how much Waverly means to Purgatory, and I hope you understand that if you hurt her,” He trailed off, his eyes dark, and Rosita understood why Nedley had survived as the Sheriff for so long.

“I have no intention of that.” Rosita said. “I promise.”

He gave a tiny nod, the look on his face clearly saying he didn’t believe her, but he went back to his usual booth. Rosita stared after him until Jimmy waved for another beer.

Well, one good thing happened during that horribly uncomfortable conversation, she wasn’t thinking about that stupid proof anymore.

Providers

Therap usage is required for all DIDD providers. Providers who are new to Therap and have not completed account setup should click here to get the process started for setting up a Therap Account. Only one person from each provider needs to complete this form.

Existing Provider Therap users need to update their Super Roles in order to gain access to Person Centered Support Plans. This can be done either asynchronously by completing the training video found here, or by attending one of the weekly Therap webinars. We are aware that the FY25 rates in Therap that crossover 7/1/24 are not available at this time.  We're in the process of placing the FY25 service rates into Therap and will provide guidance as soon as it's available.

DIDD would like to follow up on a question discussed during the 4/30 Therap webinar regarding PCSP signature sheets. To clarify, ISC/CMs will NOT use the Therap-generated signature sheet to record PCSP meeting attendees at this time. Please continue to use the current DIDD (non-Therap) signature sheet.

Changes coming to the Service Supports Section of the PCSP in Therap: 

Changes are pending in Therap in order to move us along to doing full billing in Therap.   Some of the changes were already implemented on April 2, however other changes will be implemented on July 1 so we must prepare now.  Here is a link to more information about these changes.

Here's what you need to know today:  

On April 2nd, Therap removed “Type of Service” from the Service Supports Section. This field will no longer be visible when the ISC/CM enters a service request.  Therap will automatically apply a status to the Service Lines in the Service Supports Section.  Release notes for this change are available on Therap at this link Release Notes for 2023.4.0 (therapservices.net)  

The Therap pilot plans created in 2022 do NOT need to be split at all. They are exempt from the process. ISC/CMs should only split services during fiscal and calendar year for plans effective on or after July 1, 2023 created in Therap. ISC/CMs do not have to change pilot plans unless there is a need to amend authorized services.

ISC/CMs should refrain from entering draft plans (particularly the service supports section of the plan)into Therap with effective dates on or after 10/1/2023 until notified further as we prepare for billing go-live this fall.

 Here is what you need to do today:  

Effective immediately, ISC/CMs may begin “breaking up” service requests in Therap so service dates for each service do not cross the fiscal or calendar year.  1. ISC/CMs must break existing and future services so the service dates end at the end of the fiscal year (6/30/2023).  2. ISC/CMs must break existing and future services so the service dates end at the end of the calendar year (12/31/2023).  3. This means one service may be split several times if it the services dates cross into the new fiscal year (7/1/2023) or calendar year (12/31/2023). ISC/CMs will need to calculate the units and totals between each break.   4. Users will need to remember to split each service across the fiscal and calendar year each year.  There will not be a hard stop as the Therap system will not alert users to make the change. On July 1, the breaks will be mandatory for all services listed on the Therap Supports & Services.   

After the July 1st deployment, the Therap system will have a validation check for the end of year break.  If a service requested is crossing over the end of the calendar year, Therap will not allow the user to save that service.  This is a hard stop.  NOTE:  Not only will the service dates need to break, ISCs/CMs will need to modify the number of units to correspond to the two breaks.   An Excel worksheet is available to help you with splitting units by dates.  When the units are split in Therap, the ISC/CM will need to use the calculate option on the Service to verify the cost is calculated correctly.  Guidance for calculating units for SLIs split by calendar and fiscal year document has been updated with examples.

Password hacking is a lucrative business, and if you’ve been using the same password for years and on multiple sites, it’s likely to have already been compromised.Hackers will steal user credentials as part of a data breach, compile all the info into a massive list, then sell it to other cybercriminals to use in their own schemes.

4.Use private Wi-Fi It’s handy, simple and relatively cheap to set up a wireless (WiFi) network in our own home. It saves us from having to connect and disconnect all sorts of wires for our computers just in order to hook up to the Internet. To protect the privacy of our network, we could use the WiFi Protected Access (WPA), which is a new-and-improved version of the once standard Wired Equivalency Privacy (WEP) security program. This is the option most public hotspots use, and it can be accessed by signing in with a password. Alternatively, we can set up a Media Access Control (MAC) address-filtering program, which does not rely on passwords. To do this, we’ll have to set up our router with a list of the specific MAC addresses on our computers.

5.Create Individual Passwords for All Accounts Passwords are a problem. Every account should have a unique password that’s hard to guess. But how do we remember all those unique passwords, when we have a lot of accounts? The problem gets worse if we try to make passwords that are difficult for others to guess because they're usually difficult for us to guess as well. Many people don't bother and use a single password for all their accounts that's easy to remember like 123456. A solution like this may be convenient, but it makes it very easy for hackers to access all our accounts. we should use password manager to prevent this situation.
