This artwork (link below) is giving me sooo many ideas for jayvik x hp crossovers, especially post s2 …. I used to be SUCH A FIEND for harry potter crossover fics (still a fiend for crossover fics in gen) and it would be so cool if like after jayvik get zapped away by the stone they come out the other side in the hp universe and then have to learn how to navigate this world where magic exists?? But in a different form from the arcane and its revered in a way?? and an entire secret society and school exists just to teach kids magic?? And in this school theres no tech, no engineering?? Plus not to mention all the political bs as well omg
And how would they get involved with the school in first place…maybe they pop right into the school? I wish i remembered more from the books bc i feel like theres totally an event i could use but I just can’t remember much outside from like the first two books 😭
If anyone wants to brainstorm with me feel free bc like i said i loooooveee crossovers and now that im finally on break (and i have adderall now) I think i might actually start some fics
Art is here btw

Some Character Ideas for the Blackbird Verse:
The royals are attaching double-barreled names to themselves, so I'm just going with it. We'll say the tradition is that a king or queen can go by their numbered name, but it usually only happens in very formal contexts or after their deaths. For daily use, they're usually referred to by a first and middle name.
The current king, John Felix, was a popular young king--easygoing, amiable, able to work with all sides. But while he was able to handle the social and diplomatic demands of the role well, he's not so great at the more intellectual demands of ruling--he's very easily led by people who seem to know what they're talking about.
His wife, Ida Magdalen, is of foreign birth. They met just before he took the throne, had a whirlwind romance, and married after a few weeks. The reality of becoming queen hit her hard--she wasn't used to this cross-class mingling that this kingdom's royals are supposed to engage in, she wasn't fond of the chilly climate, and a personality that was intriguing in youthful romance became more grating in a husband. About eight years ago, she took a trip to her home country (leaving behind her husband and teenage daughter), and has never returned. She claims it's for her health. Basically everyone knows the truth.
The separation between the king and queen has massively harmed the king's reputation. How is he supposed to be the unifier of the people if he can't even keep his own marriage together?
Previous generations of the royal family got way too enamored with luxurious living and have lived beyond their means. John Felix inherited family finances that were starting to sink just below the level of what was considered proper for the royal family. Supporting a wife in another country further strained already stretched-to-the-limit royal finances. Desperation and emotional turmoil sunk him into depression and pushed him to make some really bad decisions that were supposed to increase their income and actually meant he lost almost everything he had.
When the royal family lost their residence, the king was allowed to live in the palace. John Felix pitched this as a return to royal tradition--early kings lived in the palace, not to live above the people, but to stay close to the operations of government. The last generations of royals got too tied up with the noble classes, so his daughter is going to be getting closer to her common roots by living in more ordinary lodgings rather than the traditional royal home used for this purpose.
The crown princess, Anna Leona, has been badly shaken by all this. She's angry at her mother, and has been fiercely loyal to her father and her country. She pities her father more than she blames him for the loss of their fortune (though she still blames him, and generally thinks of him as someone who's weak-minded). She's overwhelmed with trying to support herself, live on her own, and provide emotional and financial support to her father (especially as he's dealing with some health problems), but she's trying her best to put a good face on it.
Anna Leona has been engaged to her fiance, Charles Birdarborin, for a couple years. They have a companionship based on mutual respect and fondness, but they're not the type of people to have wild romantic passions. Anna was absolutely not going to repeat her parents' mistake of marrying too quickly, so the wedding date was pushed off to an indefinite future, sometime after her traditional "living among the people" training. Now that her financial situation has fallen, the wedding isn't likely to happen soon.
Charles' family has risen in wealth and status over the last few generations--tradespeople who have risen to the rank of nobility. The king has already asked him for financial help a few times, which mortifies Anna, so she has made a vow never to ask him for money while she's living on her own.

Okay my crack theory for Lucy’s god situation:
What if instead of dying Lucy’s god became an archfey and fucked off, forsaking all of their followers. I could see that as justifiable for a minor god—maybe you don’t want your personality and existence to be dependent on a group of people small enough for a really big hurricane to wipe them out. Maybe you want to try your hand at self actualization, which you can’t really do as a god. Whatever.
But that would still mean Lucy’s grades would be screwed for the year, and the whole group would be switched to pass/fail.
Whatever god they’re trying to bring back seems like they want to stay a god, but would also only have a single living cleric so their nature would be heavily influenced by who that cleric is, and could still be controlled. Bringing back an established dead god with living followers probably reduces the risk of the god immediately dying or completely sucking ass/not being powerful like what happened with YES!(?), and we know the Ratgrinders LOVE minimizing risk. And choosing a dead god that represents something Lucy is actually passionate about preaching and proselytizing would make her work as a cleric much easier for her emotionally than, say, switching to Helio and just going through the motions, and bringing back a god would probably look good on college resumes.
Idk, that’s just an alternative theory to Lucy’s god dying based on what’s been established this season.
#fantasy high#the ratgrinders#ratgrinders#fantasy high junior year#fhjy#fhjy spoilers#d20 fantasy high#dimension 20#this is an idea I came up with while basically writing fanfiction in my head about a possible route Ivy’s story could go#that would make the ragtringers not evil / kind of justified#basically my ‘what if’ plot line is that Ivy’s god forsakes her during the sophomore spring project and that leads to her loosing her power#and the ratgrinders having to choose a pacifistic quest to go on because they no longer have a healer but can’t tell anybody#hence why they didn’t kill anything during their sophomore quest but seemingly still passed with a letter grade#(we know Ivy’s death was only reported after grading was completed—which means they wouldn’t have been switched to pass/fail)#Now Ivy is thinking about what grade to switch to before the end of the year so she doesn’t fail#all while covering up her god forsook her to the school until she has her replacement figured out#but WHOOPS something happens and she dies anyway…but with no afterlife she’s stuck as a ghost. The ratgrinders will all fail if they report#her dead right then-and Ivy doesn’t want that for her friends-so instead the ratgrinders disguise self as her and fake her cleric powers#with their own in class just enough to keep her from failing the year…then after grading closes they report her as dead to Augfort and ask#for his help in reviving her like he did the bad kids. But he tells them that he brought the bad kids back by taking their place in#the afterlife; if Ivy’s stuck as a ghost and not in an afterlife than there’s nothing he can do right now but he’ll look into it oh wait#his DAUGHTER is back and they need to bond nevermind here are some resources during this endless night that you can read up on to try to#find a way to bring your dead friend back on your own have FUN high schoolers I believe in you but it’s Ayda time!#so the ratgrinders did a bunch of research on their own and they found that a god could bring her back to life and the only one willing to#do that would probably be a preestablished dead god they brought back to life (similar to Kristen with Cassandra). This red god is just#the safest bet they found in the books to complete their plan#I won’t call all THAT a theory because it’s based on nothing but that’s my idea for a direction her backstory could go#also pretend whenever I wrote ‘ivy’ in this little end section I actually wrote Lucy#I canNOT believe I made that mistake#Cassandra save me

forced myself to finish this book even though by the last hundred pages or so all i was doing was picking apart the post-catholicism of it all. bc i feel like it's important to read shit you don't gel with . just because. even though the whole way through i was like they HAVE to prove it's not real. they HAVE to. so not the point of any of it but i was desperate for them to Find The Body etc. and of course instead they have mystical time travel experiences and all that because that is the kind of book the actual star is but i was desperate for them to realize that the star you see is the actual star. and then it wasn't
#the actual star#like i me? personally? am a staunch and firm believer that the star you see is the actual star#i dont cotton to the concept of 'higher levels of consciousness'#or 'transcendence' or the concept that the world is not the home#like. do i think people can put themselves in altered states of consciousness? sure. but none of those states are higher or better#it's just drugs or whatever. hallucination. sleep deprivation. really good/bad mood. brainwaves#i like aggressively dont believe that shit#but the book and the characters here DO. and i had to go with it while trying not to nitpick it too hard the entire time#not my favorite experience but one i was determined to have anyway just to see the thing through to the end#i think my favorite timeline was a tossup between the 1012 and the 3012. but the 3012 mostly in the beginning when it was all worldbuilding#by the end it was getting more mystical and i had too many issues with the future society that weren't going to have time to be resolved#which was very clearly also not the Point Of The Book which is a big one for loose threads and 'decoherence of meaning'#the 1012 plot was more engaging on a throughline level. i enjoyed it beginning middle to end just wish ket had been there more#she was sort of a decoy protagonist she got a couple chapters and then it was all the twins lethally misunderstanding each other#this is also a book which really really gets into entropy which#well first of all its scary. entropy. but secondable it's not as big of a noticeable deal as youd think it would be#what the fuck ever you're alive#who cares if everything is going to fall apart in eight billion years#there's a bit in the last xander chapter where he's like oh i HATE everything i HATE the earth!!! ok and you're about to have#the most formative experience of your life and build a cult around it. on the foundational idea that the earth isnt as real as heaven is#babeeeeeeeeeeeeeee the catholicismmmmmmmmmmmmmm#this book. more than anything. made me think about all of the 3012 jewish buddhist etc ppl living in sedente communities like#watching all of this from the sidelines wondering when Christianity 2 is going to fall apart under its own weight#now THAT'S entropy babey

A blank space with missing pieces
a modern AU story set in Grand Line City which is practically a lawless city infested by several gangs(the cannon crews duh) and disappearances are common, but things change when missing people start turning up dead in different corners of the city . Law is a surgeon struggling to maintain a peaceful life.
He spectacularly fails at this when he unexpectedly wakes up next to the corpse of one of the missing and is immediately found at the crime scene. Fortunately, it is not by a civilian or a police officer, but by the leader of an emerging gang that has been causing great chaos in the city: Mugiwara no Luffy.
Law is taken in by the Straw Hats, who are looking for Luffy's brother. Portgas D Ace is just another face in the news, one of the countless people missing. In the end, Law has little (or no) option but to join Luffy in the search for the real killer in order to clear his name and, hopefully, save Luffy's brother before he becomes another corpse.
Everything goes off the rails even further when a serial killer calling himself the "Surgeon of Death" emerges and Law's DNA is found on victims who are found dismembered and grotesquely reassembled, with their hearts and lungs missing. Now not only the gangs suspect his involvement in the crimes but also the police and the public, especially when they discover that thirteen years ago he was rescued from the infamous Donquixote gang.

blorbos from my brain
#beloved villainxcivilian wip. i need to draw you#post unrelated to previous few. mostly#if anyone's reading this post and curious: vague superhero/villain-containing setting; mc is a woman who gets out of a shit relationship#w a local hero by selling his work laptop to a local villain and using the money to flee the province/whatever with her cat & suitcase.#gets set up w a tiny apartment. barely leaves. severe anxiety that she's gonna be tracked down by either her ex or the villain to tie up lo#loose ends#eventually unwinds enough to leave; takes a 3rd shift at an ancient tiny library with old archives#local supervillain (not that she knows at first) becomes a repeat visitor looking over the old city blueprints and hwhatnot on file#eventually unwinds enough to start a mayyybe situationship#he's not blind she's clearly very distrusting n nervous even if she's got a crazy good customer service face so he's very slow abt it#lets her set the pace of whatever they're doing#which simultaneously reassures her and makes her nervous#because it could be a mask. it could be a trap. she literally has no way to really know#gets worse when the truth about his profession comes out#mental breakdown. lots of yelling. butter knife brandished like a weapon (<- taken very seriously)#once shit settles a lot of time is dedicated to figuring out how they want to continue this. if they want to#given that there is realistically a crazy power dynamic between them. she's an immigrant who had to uproot herself from literally everyone#and everything she knows and has; has no support system in a country she is technically not legally supposed to be in;#he is very influential; having both notable scores of money socked away and a potentially a mole in the local policing force#if he wanted to make her disappear in one way or another it would not be difficult for him#much how her ex was becoming. extremely overbearing so to speak#so Yah trying to navigate that. very serious discussions if they can make that work out or if they should split#bc i want a happy ending i think they make it work! not sure about the specifics but theyre good#i think he doesnt realize how badly shes fucked up until at some point after The Breakdown he puts together that she's the reason the hero#in a few provinces away got completely Fucked by the local villain scene#and putting that together with her severe anxiety and not-great living situation. why she would've possibly done that#anyways. the inspiration for this all was mostly out of distaste for most of the romantasy books i have to see in various fandom tags#male love interest who doesn't really respect boundaries VS. m.l.i. who is extremely respectful of boundaries while managing to remain a vi#villain by the laws of the genre/setting/otherwise plot#(and asking the question of what does villainy mean in this context)

ok the basic premise for my 25 years post-canon au stuff is that teenaged jasmina (as per my last post on the matter) had an insane terrible relationship breakdown with finnikin because he failed to recognise her as her own person blah blah blah whatever. & this also resulted in a rift between jasmina & isaboe because during this period jasmina ended up feeling like isaboe loved finnikin more than her (im still working out the details on this. i think it was a reasonable conclusion for a 16yo to come to based on the available evidence, despite probably not being accurate. & anyway at the end of the day isaboe will always have to pick jasmina first because she is lumatere in the same way isaboe is & the needs of the many). isaboe ends up very much on the outs with finnikin both because of his failings with jasmina and because from her pov the breakdown b/w her and jasmina is the direct result of him refusing to get his head out of his arse. & this is all like 10 years in the past by the time we get to the main story, so isaboe & jasmina have established a good working relationship by this point, but the personal hasn't recovered even though they both want it to. finnikin & isaboe have been vacillating between neutral & iced the fuck out, & finnikin and jasmina do not speak outside of political functions

Oh my gosh, oh my gosh, oh my goshhhhhh! I finally sat down and read The Spirt of Wisdom, oh my gosh. It. Is. Amazing. I love it, I love it, I love it! eeeeeeeeeeee I cannot wait until you post moreeeeee. First off, I love the shadowy depiction of, well, Shadow. And the description of how Blue looks, ohhh yesssss, I love that. And Green just casually having a breakdown, relatable. I loved it. Pure art.
Oh, im glad you read it 😊❣️
Chapter 2 is on the way, it's just that i wanna focus on a slightly different aspect before continuing to upload.
Speaking of Shadow's shady appearance, im currently working on sketches to show it visually how it looks like. Im almost done with one sketch, but I'm planning on 3-4 in total so yeah, it shouldn't take me long thankfully since all of your support is giving me confidence and motivation to continue my work ❣️
Im glad you love Blue's description, since he's also on the visualize list! Since Shadow has been brainrotting me lately, i started with him cuz he didn't want to leave me alone lol. I am planning on visualizing all of the colors, sooo.... So far Shadow is in progress, Blue is next since his design isn't that complicated, Vio is right there with two messy sketches ready but still few work left, and Red and Green on who i didn't even start yet 😅
Also, i suggest you be ready for Green's breakdowns, the pressure of being a leader is for some reason stressing him quite a lot lately :3
Im so glad you loved it ❣️ at first I was worried that it'll be disappointing, but im glad it isn't! Unfortunately tho, chapter 1 was almost 5k words long, while chapter 2 is around 3k I think.... (Yeah, there's such a difference in length T-T)
ANYWAYS! Thank you sm for reading it. All of your kind words and support mean a lot to me since my AU is like my precious child to me. Im so glad ppl are enjoying it ❣️🫶
Instead of chapters, character designs are on the way! ✌

cas coming back in any kind of spn reboot is a given, we know this. he'll interact with dean and we might even get dean addressing the confession. and i know jackles will be the driving force behind any reboot but his history with addressing dean's feelings at cons is like a damn yoyo - is2g if dean doesn't reciprocate and destiel doesn't kiss on screen i'm not watching it and it will join the annals of not-canon along with 15x19 and 15x20 and the canon divergence attempt at a fixit that was dean in spnwin. no destiel means spngate 2.0.

🖊🖊🖊🖊🖊🖊 ALL OF THEM PLEAAAASE
aaaaahhhhh thank you!!!! ❤️❤️❤️
Always open for gushing! Please, send me a 🖊 anytime!
rapidfire round on some family stuff that I've been playing with/fleshing out lately~
Tumblr media
I didn't think that the way the Shadow Dragon Rook's relationship with their family came up in the game fit Ver, so I'm kinda twisting it: I've only recently decided that in my canon, the "Mercar" that's mentioned in-game is actually Ver's uncle by marriage, and he is the husband of Abelia (maiden name Caeso), her paternal aunt.
Abelia (one of the reasons Ver also has a floral name!) was very close with her brother (Linnaeus Caeso), and unlike most of the family, loved her sister-in-law (Melisa Bayart), so she was the one who talked her husband into adopting their orphaned niece. (Ver doesn't call them mom and dad- to her they are still Auntie Abbie, and Uncle Valerius or "Sir".)
The person who filled in sort of the "paternal" role in her life is an old surface dwarf, Brogan- she's been renting the flat above his little restaurant (or I guess "eatery" is more accurate, it's just a little hole in the wall that's been the same since before she was even born) in the district I call Catsbane for literally over a decade now, and would have had a lot more hungry nights without him. (He was also the one who gave her ex/roommate Adris a job as a dishwasher when he lived there with her, and the only reason the Templars got in to arrest Adris as an escaped slave was because old Brogan with the meat tenderizer is... well, not much, against three soldiers armed to the teeth.)
(he still calls her "columbae mea", an old Tevene term of endearment I made up- it means "my dove/pigeon" in Latin, and he started calling her that because in her early 20's, she only ever "came home to roost", sleep and/or metaphorically lick her wounds.)(let me lean into the "old queer man nurturing the young queer woman like a daughter he never had" trope okay, it makes my heart so happy)
Tumblr media
Tristan is/was the eldest of five siblings, and all of the others are still alive by the time Veilguard rolls around: he has two little brothers, Adam and Henry, and two little sisters, Edith and Matilde (Matty for short).
I want to say that they (along with his parents, Wymond and Margaret/"Meggy") are the reason he wanted so bad to fight at Ostagar originally, even though he was poorly trained, and only 17 years old: to protect them as best as he could.
He's not kept in touch with them since his death (his family was informed that he had died on the battlefield, though they weren't updated that while that's still kinda true, he also kinda got better in the meantime), and unlike many Fereldans from the area near the area affected by the Fifth Blight, his parents and youngest sister stayed in their old home until the 9:52 combined Blight chased them north too.
The one thing that Wymond laments in the move is that from now on, he will no longer be able to visit his eldest son's empty grave on Tristan's birthday, which was kind of a ceremony he had been doing, faithfully, for 20+ years now. (I'm toying with the thought that Meggy was hit even harder by Tristan's death, and even to this day, she can't even stand the sight of the headstone- but if he were to show up today, she would be the only one to recognize her son in this tower of a warden, lol.)
Tumblr media
Marcus canonically doesn't have a family so it's difficult to talk about that, but since there is that skeleton you can find during Emmrich's recruitment quest that sounds like he left the Ingellvar Rook behind, I did come up with a little story for his background!!!
I though that originally, he was born to a minor noble's daughter who was engaged to be wed to someone else, and one of the family's (free, but poor) servants, in a very classic, tragic love story. (Originally it was far darker, but that piece of dialogue made me want to pivot to a more sad than horrifying one, lol.)
In a nutshell, his mother managed to hide the pregnancy from everyone while she was carrying him, and the child was to be raised by his father's nearby, though estranged family (under the condition that the mother secretly sends them money to support her son), but then she unfortunately died in childbirth, and Marcus' father was left in a very difficult situation: either he could unceremoniously get rid of the body of his beloved (against all Nevarran custom), pretend not to know what happened to her, and raise their child alone and in secret (with no help, because there was no support coming, and the family pulled out), or to come clean, give his love the honor and the burial that she deserves, and have the child be taken away- or, potentially even to be accused of having murdered her, and get imprisoned, or worse.
So, he did the only other thing he could think of to give the both of them the best chance: he stole into the depths of Grand Necropolis with the infant, left him (along with a piece of his own heart, so to speak) in a place where he knew that the Mourn Watchers would find him, and then flee the country. The circumstances of his death are still quite unclear, but he was found dead soon after, still within Nevarra City, so.... well, he didn't get far.
So yeah, while he's no bastard prince and this has nothing to do with anything regarding him, Marcus is technically of noble birth- but nobody knows it, not even him, and there is nobody alive who could confirm it.
As far as anyone is concerned, he's just a soft-spoken, pretty boy with considerable magical and academic talent, and no familial ties to speak of.
