Hi again, everyone! Hope you're having a great ST Day ;) We decided to delay it a bit to give you guys time to lose your minds. In other news, here's our official application link! Fill away, and make sure to give it a good read.

Important details below:

DEADLINE

Expected deadline of this event is December 23.

Gift giving ranges from December 24-31. This can be done through DMs, or you can post your gift and mention/@ your giftee.

Posting period in social media sites ranges from December 24-January 15.

Throughout the event, expect regular check-ins. This is to ensure everything's on schedule, and will be done through your main form of contact.

GIFT REQUIREMENTS

Written works' requirements are limited to 300-500 words. If you wish to extend, the maximum limit is 5k words.

Other literature forms such as poetry can vary.

Artworks do not have to be fully rendered, but are expected to be relatively cleaned up and colored.

Video edits are limited to 15-30 seconds. Extended music fan videos can be up to 1 minute max. If you have any questions or concerns regarding your gift plan, you can contact us via our inbox here in @bylersecretsanta.

Please keep in mind these are just standard digital outputs. If you have any other ideas, you are more than free to explore them, and we encourage you all to be creative with your gifts!

Byler Secret Santa

My gift is for @notebooknonbinary​!!!! I wrote a fic and did a tiny comic to go with it for your “Post S5 holiday party” prompt. I really hope you like it!  <3 <3 <3 

“Winter 1989

Mike sits next to Nancy on Lucas’s couch, picking at dry skin on his thumb and tugging at his stupid thick, cable knit sweater with too high of a collar. His mom bought it for him for the holidays and basically forced him to wear it. It’s itchy and way too hot, but at least she had the forbearance to pick a gray one. A color he can live with.

The Sinclair’s living room is crowded and warm and lit softly by Christmas lights. Old, jazzy Christmas tunes play in the background and everyone is here: Hopper and Joyce, Lucas and Erica and their extended family, Dustin and his mom, El, Max and her mom, Eddie’s uncle, Nancy, Holly, his parents; as well as a few people Mike recognizes from around town, but doesn’t really know. It’s been almost two months since it all happened, since the battle with One, and the gate being closed. Two months tomorrow since they all almost lost their lives. Especially El…and Will. They’d fare the worst of any of them, but their wounds were healing and One was killed, his plan of destroying the world never coming to fruition after all. The earth was still healing, and so is everyone else. No one has really recovered yet. Joyce told him Will still flinched when things were too loud or when there was sudden movement. El still cried Papa’s name in her sleep. But it was better. Things were better, and they were all together here in the warmth of his best friend’s house and it smells like food and spices and a pie Mrs. Sinclair still has in the oven.

Mike sucks a breath in through his nose and sighs.
