The Still Untitled Klaine December Challenge Fic (1/21)

Summary: Kurt and Blaine fell in love in Ljubljana, but all things must come to an end. Kurt's semester abroad and Blaine's job are finished and they must go back home, with each of them living on the other side of the country. It's difficult to be long-distance, especially since Blaine doesn't know how to come out to his family and Kurt's friends have all moved on to bigger things while he was away. But all is not lost. Kurt's trying to figure out if he can do an internship in Los Angeles and Blaine's aiming for a job in New York. The problem is that they're unaware of the other's plan.

Notes: Yes, the placeholder title is a mouthful, so I am once again open for suggestions. I almost titled it [placeholder Slovene title], because yes, Slovenia! This is a sequel to last year's Klaine Advent fic Ljubim te! Ever since I finished that one, I've been going back and forth on this sequel idea, so full disclosure, I have no clue where this is going and I think this fic will be shorter than Ljubim te, but I'm excited to find out. I really like this universe that I created and even though I haven't been away for that long, I am glad to return. I hope y'all enjoy it as well.

PLEAD

“I love you.”

This isn’t the first time that someone confessed their love for Blaine at an airport, but this is the first time that Blaine can say it in return.

“I love you too,” he says with a big smile that matches the one on Kurt’s face.

“It’s only for a little while,” Kurt reminds Blaine.

Blaine nods. He knows this, but that doesn’t make it any easier. He’s been dreading this moment for a while. Blaine is going back to Los Angeles, leaving Kurt behind in Ljubljana.

Well, it’s not like Kurt’s staying that much longer. He’s flying back to New York tomorrow. But it is the end of an era. He’s moving away and the time that he’s shared with Kurt in this city, in this country, is about to end.

Kurt’s right. They will see each other soon. Blaine will return to LA to fix whatever mess he and Quinn have made and then he’ll visit Kurt in New York. Kurt also doesn’t know this yet, but Blaine’s looking into getting a position in his dad’s business’s New York office. Only Quinn knows of this plan. Okay, and Sunil, because Blaine just couldn’t keep his mouth shut. But Kurt doesn’t know it, because Blaine doesn’t want to possibly disappoint him. Blaine’s dad was satisfied with the work that Blaine did in Ljubljana, although Blaine can hardly call it work, so there’s a chance, but a position in New York would be bigger and Blaine’s not sure his dad will let him do it.

But first, Blaine will just visit Kurt.

“Alright, this is it,” Kurt says, and Blaine hears that he’s trying not to cry.

“I ljubim te you,” Blaine says back and they share a private smile. They know it is grammatically wrong, but this is their thing now.

“I ljubim te you too. Have a safe flight. Text me when you get home.”

“I will.”

“And say hi to Quinn and Denise for me.”

“I will,” Blaine repeats.

Then, Kurt pulls him into a warm embrace. Blaine breathes in Kurt’s scent. They’re acting as if they’re never seeing each other again, but that is how it feels in this moment. Blaine almost wants to plead to some higher power to let them stay here, just for a bit longer, but Kurt’s semester has come to an end and Blaine’s job is also done. They can visit Ljubljana again, and they will, but they won’t be living here.

It's time to go, but before Blaine moves, he kisses Kurt. Kurt wraps his arms around him and kisses back. It sucks to leave, but it is how it is.

It really, really is time to go. Blaine breaks apart and says a quick goodbye. He can’t dwell on it any longer. Kurt understands.

Blaine turns around and walks towards customs.

A couple of hours later, he’s at LAX. As promised, he texts Kurt to say he’s landed safely, and he also texts Quinn to say that he’s going to the baggage claim.

QF: Okay, we have a situation here

BA: Are you stuck in traffic???

QF: No

QF: worse

BA: ???

QF: we’re stuck with your fucking brother

BA: ??????????????

Blaine frowns deeply. Cooper? Blaine had let Cooper know that he’s returning home today, but he also very clearly told him that Quinn is picking him up. He meant to imply that he wanted “a private moment with his girlfriend” or something, since Cooper doesn’t know that they’re broken up and that Blaine’s gay. That, and Quinn asked if Denise could join them and Blaine agreed. How on earth did Cooper get mixed up in this?

He assumes that Quinn tried to hold Cooper off, but if Cooper’s put his mind on something, it’s hard for anyone to convince him otherwise.

Blaine braces himself. This is the last thing he needed. He wants to call Kurt, but it’s past midnight in central Europe now. Kurt said he’d try to wait up, but he hasn’t replied to Blaine’s text, so he probably failed. Blaine doesn’t mind.

So, after half an hour, he’s face to face with Quinn, his best friend and ex-girlfriend, Denise, his ex’s new girlfriend, and Cooper, his brother who doesn’t know he’s gay. This must be some kind of slapstick.

 “Blaine!” Quinn immediately runs towards him and she throws herself on him.

Blaine spins her around. He’s missed her, even though he last saw her in April. Blaine puts her down and moves his attention to Denise.

“And you must be the famous Denise Jackson-Smith,” he holds out his hand.

“The famous Blaine Anderson,” Denise says back and she shakes his hand. Quinn’s told him that Denise didn’t always like him, but that was before the whole gay realisation and break-up happened. Denise’s warmed up to him, and this is the first time they’re meeting.

But they can’t spend too much time on why that is a big deal, because Cooper breaks in.

“Welcome home!” Cooper also hugs Blaine, which admittedly is nice.

“What a surprise,” Blaine feigns happiness.

“I haven’t seen you in so long, squirt!”

Blaine’s touched, truly, but the timing is just icky. Cooper must pick up on some of Blaine’s displeasure, because he leans in to whisper something in Blaine’s ear.

“Sorry for crashing your reunion with your girl, but if Quinn’s new bestie can crash it, so can I.”

“Right.”

My girl, Blaine thinks. Meanwhile, his boy is on the other side of the world.

Cooper pulls away and he takes one of Blaine’s suitcases.

“Shall we?” he nods towards the entrance.

 Blaine takes a deep breath. It feels so silly, but when he leaves the airport, then it means his adventure is over and that he’s back home to his old life.

He’ll see Kurt soon enough. That’s what he needs to remind himself. He feels like a love sick puppy, but the thought does put him more at ease. The Ljubljana chapter of his life might be over, but his story with Kurt is only just beginning.

Eega - Before he was Shyam Singha Roy in the body of Vasu, Nani was Nani in the body of a housefly and I find cinematic poetry in that. + The graphics, the music, the exaggerated comedy... Sudeep knows exactly what he's doing with his lines

Magadheera - (he really has it out for reincarnation stories doesn't he?) Charan's first real role (I hate Chirutha) The grandeur of the sets, the background here and there... Also the mass CGI with the gladiator audience was the new hot toy that SSR introduced. Anaganaganaga crawled so Ettara Jenda could run. (You know i'm right)

RRR - Just for Bheem's intro, it deserves an oscar. I'm one of the people who think Naatu Naatu was good, but not THAT good as they made it out to be. Also, RRR gave me the first himbo couple I could ship openly. My grandma agrees because the only dispute she had with RRR is that Ram had to pee and poop in that cell. No disagreement against RamBheem being the Tollywood IT couple

Chatrapathi - it gave teluguvallu fantastic inside jokes like: a. Tala tintada mondema? (will the shark eat his head or body first?) b. Suridu? YADUNDAVAYYA? SURIDUUU (Suridu, kaha ho? Suridooo) c. OKA ADDUGUUUU☝🏽👣 (one step, I want one step) d. Violin champakura babu (chatrapathi and simhadri kill our brain cells with the violin music in the climax emo moments, i always want to pull my hair out) - but also, Chatrapathi had a good bgs, worked fantastically for hero-uplifting moments like the interval and okka adugu scene

Bahubali: The Beginning - Only and only for the interval scene and the architecture of Mahishmati. TOP TIER. The loopholes and characterization of Avantika could have been way better. Pacha Bottesina was totally unnecessary

6. Vikramarkudu - Chintata chita chita chintata TA! (teluguvallu can translate this into literally anything) 7. Yamadonga - just for the RAMBA, OORVASI, MENAKA moment I take away 5 points from the 10 points it earned. Tarak and Priyamani was a pairing I didn't know I needed 8. Maryada Ramanna - Sunil anna I love you anna but this wasn't your movie. This is the cycle's story, and that one song in the train. the screenplay is a cart wheel without the cart. It's funny in some places but Brahmaji dies FOR NO REASON. JUSTICE FOR BRAHMAJI 9. Simhadri - I didn't really feel for the characters. BUT. BUT BUT. I have to say this because it's been stewing in me for so long: Simhadri's interval scene ran so Bahubali 1's ending twist could fly. I said what I said y'all know it's the same vibe we all catching.

10. Sye - it doesn't seem like an SSR movie, but it's not that good. Young Adult revenges were in trend when this was made and it fit well with its counterparts. Sometimes I even forget that Genelia and Nithiin did indeed work with Rajamouli 11. Student No. 1 - not that special, honestly early-career Tarak's movies just blend in my head: SN1, Aadhi, Samba... but hey at least SN1 started a long lasting kinship 12. Bahubali: The Conclusion - THAT IS NOT SIVAGAMI! HOW DARE YOU! this is beyond ooc, it's not a character at all. At one point I thought they'd bring out a tantrik doing black magic to change Sivagami... And Devasena is not the best written character in SSR's filmography. This movie makes me want to scratch my eyeballs out. If only my mom had the audacity and hardheadedness to talk to grandma like this. Also... Avantika's leader, who is killed by Bhalla in the seige, IS DEVASENA'S BROTHER. and she just LOOKS as he's getting the life choked out of him? oo don't make me start about this movie I can rant for a loooong time

Favorite ships from the show? 👀

You anon are my savior, I have so many thoughts about this stupid show.

Ok, so my number one all time favorite is Vinnil (I'm basic 😪, but it's so cute and good uh). Have you seen them? Yes, yes, yes. Don't even get me started on how much euphoria I experienced while watching Sunil's sick day for the first time. The episode is 20 minutes long but it took me like 2 hours to watch it because I had to get up every 10 seconds to fangirl or go back to watch the scene for the 10th time omg and after I have finally finished I was crying tears of joy. I'm not kidding.

Ok, second favorite, VinnieLing. Oh boy, another Vinnie one. Listen, it's just so cute??? I don't know when exactly but at some point I started thinking about it and realized that i love it. I mean, tall girl and short boy?? Hells yeah.

After that I don't have a numbered list but besides those two my favorites are Zepper, SunilLing, Vinnie x Russell, honestly anyone with Penny, Vinka is kinda my jam too, Russell x Sunil though. But also the polys. Can we talk about the polys? All three of my boys in a poly, yes. Sunil, Vinnie and Penny in a poly? Even better (have you seen the height difference??? Oh). Girls poly for that matter is cute too.

Also, I genuinely kinda like some of the canon crushes?? Zoe x Digby is neat, Pepper x Captain Cuddles is adorable and don't even get me started on Penny x Mr. Von Fuzzlebutt he didn't even talk for the majority of the episode, but I think it was adorable. Oh and yes, I even think Sunil x Deliah was rather good.

I also really like Vinnie x Esteban for some reason. I just think it would be this one, only ship in which Vinnie would be completely done with someone but in love still. You saw the episode.

But genuinely? I ship everything. Those are my favorites but everything else at least between the main seven in good and cute. Let me pick something at random. Zoe x Minka? Yup. Pepper x Russell? Mhm. Some polys likeee Minka, Russell, Zoe? Yeah. Vinnie, Pepper, Penny? Sign me up.

At one point you realize that all ships are good, just some you like more than the rest, and with such an adorable cast, honestly, how could I dislike one? Years ago I despised Sepper because of course I, an avid Vinnil fan, did. But I have matured and I love Pepper now, no sign of hate. Sepper while not amongst my favourote ships is still cute in it's own right.

And that's without even considering any guest pets (besides Esteban) but that's a different topic and this thing is already long. I kid you not I have thought a few days ago (I had a weird spur of love for Jasper) "haha what if human Vinnie and Jasper were in love, they're so silly" and then I couldn't stop thinking about it.

And I didn't even say anything about the actual humans!

Seriously, if you want, feel free to send me an ask (or 100) asking me to elaborate or add more or whatever about anything I said here or anything else from this show for that matter. Headcanons, thoughts, specific thing that happened, different Aus, anything.

This chilli chicken has a lot of delicious taste & robust flavors. Chilli chicken’s taste varies from area to area. as an example, In Punjab, people like spicy, therefore it is eaten with totally different tastes by different people. However, the perfect balance of salt, chilli, and sweet makes it delicious to eat.

The best Chilli chicken recipe ingredients with images

For Marination :

For Marination: In a bowl

1/4 tbsp black pepper

750 gm boneless chicken,

1/4 tsp Kashmiri red chilly,

1/2 tsp garlic ginger paste,

1/4 tsp chilli sauce,

a pinch of salt,

a pinch of white pepper,

2 tsp corn flour,

2 tsp refined flour,

1 p c egg.

Method: how to make chilli chicken at home

firstly, mix well all those ingredients with water until making a thick batter. Do not add enough water, add water little by little.

If you like thick or crunchy coating like restaurant style then you need to add 1 tbsp corn flour to the marination.

heat oil in a pan and fry chicken pieces.

Make the thick sauce for seasoning in a separate bowl. Add 1 tbsp soy sauce, 2 tbsp tomato sauce, 1 tbsp chilli sauce,1 tbsp garlic sauce, and a pinch of white pepper, combine all at once these ingredients with some water, and ensure the sauce must be thick for obtaining consistency. If you are doing not have garlic sauce then you can use Deggi Mirch for the color, as a result, this chilli is a smaller amount spicy.

Note: fry the chicken doubly, the primary time for 5 minutes, and also the second time for 1 minute so that the chicken remains soft.

SEASON CHILLI CHICKEN

Heat oil in a pan and chop ginger garlic until it turns brown.

3 p c large size onion and 2 p c medium size capsicum with cube cutting.

1 tsp garlic and ginger chopped.

Green chilly and fresh green coriander leafs chopped.

Note- keep aside a cup with water and 2 tsp corn flour. Add onion, capsicum, and green chilly and saute for half a minute.” for better taste do not cook the vegetables completely.

Protips for you

To make the best chili chicken, I suggest you use Deggi Mirch and saute well in the sources on a high flame which gives a smokey flavor and gets good color.

Add spring onion chopped if available which will enhance the taste.

1/2 ltr Oil for deep frying

1/4 tbsp red chili and soy sauce

1 tbsp soy sauce,

2 tbsp tomato sauce,

1 tbsp chili sauce

1 tbsp garlic sauce,

a pinch of white pepper,

3 p c large size onion

2 p c medium size capsicum with cube cutting.

1 tsp garlic and ginger chopped.

Green chilly and fresh green coriander leafs chopped.

2 tsp corn flour.

Water

INSTRUCTIONS: Simple Chilli Chicken recipe

For Preparation – (OPTIONAL) If you would like chicken more crispy so you can avoid eggs, it is good to chicken more crispy.

Add salt at last to your taste.

Use thigh pieces of chicken for softness

Toss the chicken and sauce until they are coated well.

Taste the sauce, then you can add some salt or pepper according to your taste.

Garnish with green onion leaves available.

It would be beneficial when you will refrigerate the chicken marination overnight and then use it.

It is my tip that if you add a pinch of Kasuri methi, it will enhance the taste and give a different aroma to your dish.

Tips: for the Chinese Chilli Chicken recipe

To fry chicken, fry chicken for 5 minutes first and then 1 minute for the second time, it is best for tenderness.

check the oil is hot enough and gently slide a small quantity of chicken into the hot oil because it must rise so it may cause burning.

Fry on medium-high heat until crisp and golden brown. Do not over-fry the chicken because it gets turns hard usually.

when chicken is cooked properly, drain on a colander or a tissue.

This recipe gives more taste and aroma when you make it with 1 tbsp of Amul butter with your cooking Oil.

You can make chilly chicken gravy as well if you would like to eat it with rice or noodles. To make gravy, you have to add some chilly, soy, tomato sauce, and water. For thickness in chilly chicken, you should add (1 tbsp corn flour mixed with water in an extra bowl then add it in chili chicken according to thickness as you want.

Anyway, let's check in with our boy, Kurt.

Kurt’s going to miss Ljubljana. Of course, he is. This city has given him so much: love, friendship, energy. It’s his last day and it’s weird to walk around Kongresni trg with Sunil and Tadeja, knowing that he won’t be back here for probably a long time.

They’re about to grab a pizza at Ljubljanski dvor, the place where he first met Blaine. But Blaine isn’t here anymore. Kurt woke up to a message from Blaine, telling him that he’s landed safely, and then another string of messages about his brother. Due to time difference, they haven’t really talked yet. Blaine is in America. Kurt’s following suit. His flight leaves in a couple of hours.

“This will be my last meal in Ljubljana, probably,” Kurt laments. The overpriced stuff at the airport will not count.

“Awww,” Tadeja pouts.

“You could’ve stayed,” Sunil points out, albeit in a more jokey way. Sunil knows that Kurt isn’t staying. He considered it for a while. He needs to do an internship for his next academic year and it might’ve been possible to also do that here in the first semester. This is why Sunil is staying instead of going back to Sri Lanka.

And Kurt adores Ljubljana, but it’s different without Blaine.

Not only that, but he’s cooking something up. He’s already spammed his advisor’s e-mail about it. Kurt’s trying to go to Los Angeles. It’s probably too late to find an internship for September, but the second semester is also an option, so Kurt’s gunning for February.

He hasn’t talked about it with Blaine, because Kurt first wants to have a concrete plan before he brings it up. Kurt’s only told his dad briefly over the phone. His dad wondered if it was smart to uproot his life for a guy, but Kurt argued that it’s temporary and he might move in with Blaine and Quinn for those six months, so it’ll save costs and what not. His dad argued back that money is no problem, since he’s a congressman so he can help. That’s where the conversation ended, but Kurt’s only at the beginning of the planning process.

First, he has to go back to New York.

Kurt, Sunil and Tadeja eat their pizza’s and talk about silly things. No one wants to dwell on the fact that Kurt’s leaving. God, Kurt’s going to miss Sunil so much.

After pizza, they have one last walk through the centre of Ljubljana, but then it’s time to go to Tadeja’s place to get Kurt’s luggage. Since Kurt obviously couldn’t stay in Blaine’s apartment, he spent the last night at Tadeja’s.

“This is it,” he says once everything’s ready. They stand outside of Tadeja’s building. The taxi has been called.

Tadeja hugs him first.

“Nasvidenje,” she says, “Pogrešal te bom.”

“I will miss you too,” Kurt says back, in English, because he wants to spare Tadeja from his terrible Slovene pronunciation. Tadeja knows it and playfully scorns Kurt.

Then it’s time to say goodbye to Sunil and it hurts. It’s different than saying goodbye to Blaine, but it’s still painful.

“Sunil-”

Sunil cuts him off with a hug.

“I know,” he says, “I know. The feeling is a mutual.”

The taxi arrives. Sunil helps Kurt with his luggage and then it’s over. Kurt gets in the car and waves as it drives away.

“Hey kiddo.”

God, Kurt didn’t know how much he missed his dad until now. Kurt’s dad and Carole flew to New York to welcome him back and then they’re staying for a couple of days so that they could spend it with Kurt.

Kurt’s pretty sure Carole is weeping with joy.

The three of them travel to Kurt’s apartment. He shares it with two women named Rachel and Santana. They’re from the same fancy all-girls school and they tolerated each other enough to move in together. They originally shared the apartment with another classmate, but she moved out to go back home to Westerville, so Rachel and Santana needed a new roommate.

That’s how Kurt ended up in this place. They’ve been living together for three years and it’s fine. He likes Rachel and Santana, although they drive him mad at times, especially Rachel. He subleased his room to another New Yorker, but that person has left so that Kurt can return.

Rachel and Santana aren’t there to welcome him home, since Rachel said something about “meeting someone from the industry” and Santana wanted to “buy a bikini for her girlfriend”, but that is fine. That gives him, his dad and Carole more space to unpack in peace.

“Good to be back?” his dad asks when Kurt steps into his bedroom.

“Different,” Kurt answers.

New York is so different from Ljubljana. Kurt walks towards his window and looks outside. Ljubljana might’ve been the capital of a country, but it has nothing on New York. New York is busier, faster, louder… it’s just more in every sense. It cannot be compared to Ljubljana. Kurt already misses the charm of Ljubljana.

He wonders how Blaine is doing in LA. LA is already a completely different city from New York. Kurt hopes he’ll like it there.

“Dad, can I have a moment to call Blaine?” he asks. There’s only a 3 hour time difference between them now, which is way better than the 9 hour one.

“Of course,” his dad says kindly, “Tell him hi from us.”

Carole nods. Then they leave and close the door behind them.

Kurt calls Blaine, who immediately picks up. Blaine was expecting him to call.

“Hey there,” Blaine sounds cheerful, “Back in New York?”

“Oh, I am so tired,” Kurt says, “Is your jet lag gone?”

“Almost,” Blaine answers with a laugh.

“Is your brother gone?”

“Yes!” Blaine sounds relieved.

“Is it that bad?” Kurt asks. He’s happy and touched that his dad and Carole flew to New York for him and he’s beyond excited to spend the next couple of days with them.

Blaine seems to pick up on that. God, he knows Kurt so well.

“Well, I am glad to see him. I did miss him, but Quinn, Denise and I wanted to figure out what to do with you know what,” Blaine sighs, “We want to have some stability in life again before we tell other people that we broke up. Quinn’s mother apparently sent me a welcome home gift for, I quote, her favourite son-in-law, which was sweet but… weird.”

Kurt can imagine. When he and Adam broke up, it was also an adjustment for Kurt’s friends and family, but he and Adam were nowhere as serious as Blaine and Quinn. That, and Kurt didn’t realise he had a completely different sexuality.

What would his dad say if he came home with a woman? The thought makes him want to giggle.

“Anyway, enough of my worries,” Blaine says, “How are you?”

They talk for an hour until Kurt’s dad interrupts to tell Kurt that Rachel has gone home and wants to greet him. Kurt and Blaine tell each other they love each other and hang up. Kurt sighs. Two more weeks and then Blaine will be in New York. He can’t wait.

End notes: God, I actually miss Ljubljana. One of the reasons I went back and forth on this sequel plan is because I knew the sequel wasn't going to be in Ljubljana, but I also love these versions of the boys (and Quinn) so much.

I still am looking for a title and it'll probably be in Slovene for consistency, even though the story isn't in Slovenia. But you know, neither was Je tik pred vami.
