natsu, the pizza delivery guy
“Yes,” she lied, brushing the crumbs off her old t-shirt, “thank you.”
Raising an eyebrow, Natsu said, “Are ya sure?”
The girl blinked at him slowly. “Are all pizza delivery guys this nosy?”
- the nalu drabble I’m writing definitely not 1st of the 3 parts

NALU One-Shot: Self-Control
Tumblr media
Lucy’s discovered Natsu has no self-control and well... She may not mind as much as she originally thought.
They’re at a job when it first happens. It’s a sly touch, a little kind of thing that she almost missed, but it’s the start of many incidents (that progressively get more extreme) that eventually leads Lucy to one, simple conclusion.
Natsu has no self-control when in public.
Not that she didn’t know that already - honestly, why was she so surprised? - but Lucy didn’t know how little of it he has.
Her whip rushed through the air with a satisfying crack, ensnaring the tip around the current bad guy’s ankle, making the dark wizard tumble to the ground with a loud, startled shout. Natsu’s behind her, laughing gleefully, one fist aflame and rushes forward to pummel his face back into the ground as he tries to get back up – when it happens.
A quick, barely there, squeeze to her behind that she doesn’t register until after he’d slammed the dark wizard’s face back into the mud – and only because of the lingering warmth of his hand.
Lucy’s so shocked that her response to Natsu’s shout of “Lucy!” is delayed. A second bad guy, that they hadn’t known was there, swung a tree stump that he’d just ripped out of the ground, aiming for her head. She just managed to dodge the blow, ducking under the stump and giving a swift, spinning heel kick that had him drop the stupid stump, clutching his ankle in pain. It didn’t have the strength to knock him over – the guy was built like a brick – but it powerful enough that he backed off and Lucy was able to keep her head firmly on her shoulders. Her own ankle was left throbbing (seriously, what did this guy eat?) but it was better than missing her head.
They’d finished the battle fairly quickly after that, Happy teasing her about her daydreaming during combat (he got a hissed “Shut it cat!” for that), and were able to go home after collecting the reward.
Half of it was deducted because majority of the forest was demolished – some trees were still smoking when they’d left, Lucy really hoped it hadn’t caused a wildlife because she really did not have the funds for those expenses – but the leftover amount was still hefty enough she wouldn’t be behind on rent.
The next time it happens is when they’re at the guild. It was late but Fairy Tail was still rowdy, drinks being chugged and spilling all over the floor, drunken shouts and curses being tossed up into the air. A typical Friday night for Fairy Tail wizards.
Lucy was huddled up in a corner booth with a book, hiding tired yawns behind the back of her hand, tilting her head every now and then to avoid a flying missile – Gray's flaming underwear, Happy chasing after a fish Elfman threw, an empty alcohol barrel and she was pretty sure Jet had been chucked over her head as well.
Natsu slides into the booth next to her. She knows it’s him even before she looks up – the heat rippling off the newcomer’s body like powerful waves can’t be anything but her partner. The warmth is as reassuring as it is relaxing and she leans closer to take all of it, greedy for the extra comfort.
“Hey Luce.” His breath hits her ear, voice low and close. Lucy shivers at his tone and turns to face him before reeling back in surprise, not expecting how close he was. Natsu huffs a laugh, fingers grazing the hem of her short skirt.
“Got tired of trying to beat Gray up?”
“Nah,” he murmurs, shooting her a toothy smile. “Ice Princess landed in Juvia’s boobs ‘n she passed out. That idiot’s just tryna revive her.”
Lucy glances over to main floor where Gray is, in fact, trying to wake up a bloody-nosed Juvia, and shakes her head at the comical scene.
“Too bad Gray can’t enjoy his woman without her passin’ out!”
“They’re not together yet –” Natsu’s mischievous glint is the only warning before he presses his face against her cleavage, given easy access by her rather low-cut shirt, snuggling further against her breasts. Lucy’s face flushes, steam wafting off her skin due to how flustered she is.
“Natsu!” She hissed, pushing him off her. “We’re at the guild!”
“So?” Natsu bats her threatening fists away, grinning wide. “I did this at the guild all the time before!”
“B-But we weren’t dating then!”
“Why does that matter?” He whines, reaching for her. “Now that we are doesn’t that mean I can do it without you gettin’ all fussy?”
“Not at the guild!” Lucy eyes the hand he’s just placed on her upper thigh before nervously glancing around Fairy Tail. “I won’t hear the end of it from Mira and Cana!”
Natsu only shrugs and before she can react, pulls her onto his lap, hand on her hips in an iron-clad hold – not enough to hurt her but enough that she can’t get off. Lucy only splutters as he presses his nose against the crook of her neck, breathing in her scent deeply. “Let ‘em. Wanna show everyone ya mine.”
His words, despite her encompassing mortification – she did not miss the way Mira’s head immediately snapped over to them from behind the bar – sent a familiar jolt of pleasure throughout her body. “Natsu,” she whines, wriggling in his grasp. “Let me go. This is embarrassing.”
Natsu laughs against her throat and moves his way up on her skin to nibble at her jaw. “Nobody cares.”
“I’m pretty sure Mira is taking photos of us right now.” Lucy says dryly, still squirming, and despite herself, stretches her neck to allow him easier access.
“Good,” Natsu purrs, “Get her to send them to me later.”
Lucy rolls her eyes before going still in his arms as he presses a kiss behind her ear, withholding her gasp of surprise. “Natsu!” she hisses as his fingers edge the hem of her shirt, warm against her skin. Her breath hitches in her throat as he trails kisses along her jaw, up to her cheeks and at the corner of her mouth.
She knows her face is practically radiating steam – as if she was the one with fire magic – and they really shouldn’t be doing this in public, let alone the guild (sure, everyone’s pretty open around here but they’ll never let her live it down!), but Lucy can’t help but melt in his arms at the attention she was receiving.
Natsu grinned against her skin, and moved to cup her cheek, angling her head to pres their lips together. His mouth was hot against hers, and the kiss was eager, a little messy but Lucy didn’t mind that much. She gave up on telling him off and gave into the feeling of him under her. Natsu’s hands burned as they moved along her body, making her gasp at the feeling.
There were loud hoots and raunchy hollers erupting behind them (along with a scandalized “Wendy close your eyes!” by Carla) but Lucy paid no attention to them as she wound her fingers in his hair, tugging him closer.
Natsu may have no self-control but Lucy found that she didn’t mind too much.

NALU one-shot: “Mastering the Pig-Tails”
Tumblr media
Natsu’s determined to be the best dad and to beat out his competition, he must train his skills with Lucy’s hair!
Natsu knows he’s wearing her down.
The way she’s hiding a smile – hah, like her tiny hand can hide Lucy’s smile from him, Natsu knows the sign of one even before it appears – and pretending to be annoyed (he’s pretty sure she’s pretending) are trustworthy tells that Lucy is softening up to him.
“Natsu,” his wife sighs at him, exasperated with a tinge of fondness that makes his heart soar. “You’re being silly.”
“Nah, Luce.” Natsu grins, moving forward to gently place the palms of his hands against the swell of Lucy’s stomach, warming up the skin with his fingers. She’s gotten so big – something Lucy laments almost every day – but Natsu can’t get enough of it.
Seeing Lucy like this – belly full with their child – is a sight that Natsu wants to keep forever. Lucy’s always been beautiful to him, even back when he wasn’t in love with her (which is an odd thought, since it feels like he’s loved her his entire life) but there’s just something about Lucy pregnant that makes his breath catch, his heart skipping a beat.
In the early days when her stomach began to grow, she’d been worried that he wouldn’t find her attractive but he squashed that stupid doubt the moment he found out about it. Natsu loved the way her body was changing, adapting to their baby. He made sure to erase that thought entirely through whispered sweet nothings, growls of his attraction in her ear, and awed caresses. After the number of times he made love to her solely because of how beautiful she looked round and full with his child proved how honest he was being. Natsu would never lie to her, especially not about this.
He couldn’t get enough of her. If Lucy wasn’t already pregnant, Natsu was certain he would’ve knocked her up immediately.
The sudden downturn trail of his thoughts has Natsu shaking his head and bringing his focus back to his current task: getting Lucy to agree to his current plan of action.
“I’m gonna need the practice when Natsu Jr. Comes along.” He keeps his hands on her belly, letting out a delighted laugh at the sensation of his daughter kicking.
Lucy watched him, his eyes so full of awe and adoration that it made her knees go weak, as he knelt down to press his ear against her stomach. “Usually it has to be a boy to be called Natsu Jr.”
Natsu pressed a soft kiss against her skin, leaning his forehead against her stomach with a pleased sigh. “I can’t wait for her to come out.” He shot her a wicked grin, “so I can put another one in you.”
He dodged a playful slap, laughing, and stood up so he could grab her waist, tugging Lucy against him. The sight of her belly between them made a pleased sigh build up in his throat. “That’s not going to happen for a long time, Natsu Dragneel. I’m still putting the blame on you for my feet growing three sizes!”
“I’ll take it,” Natsu nuzzled her cheek. “Your crazy mood swings will be worth it when the little one pops out.” He was too close to avoid the punch to his chest, wheezing a little as he laughed.
“Keep at it and you won’t get the chance to even try to put another baby in me, I swear on it.”
“A-Aye, ma’am!” Natsu saluted, eyes wide.
Lucy rolled her eyes at his antics, pressing her hands to his chest, smiling up at him. This was the perfect moment - Lucy couldn’t deny him now - to get her to say yes to his plans....
Natsu gave her his best puppy-dog eyes, fingers lightly grazing her waist. “If I’m gonna be the best dad in the guild I need to do this.”
At his words, Lucy cracked immediately. Victory.
“Okay fine, you idiot. Go get my hairbrush.” Natsu was momentarily distracted as Lucy passed the window, the morning light enveloping her in its warm glow, making Lucy look absolutely breathtaking. Like an angel.
His angel – with his baby.
That made Natsu smile like a fool before he scampered off to find Lucy’s pink hairbrush, ready to begin his training in the arts of being the Perfect Dad. (A title he took very seriously – plus, he needed to wipe out the competition in the form of that stupid Ice Prick and Metal Head).
The moment his fingers closed around the handle, Natsu quickly dashed back to where his Lucy was waiting, sitting at a chair in front of her vanity, smiling fondly as she rubs her swollen stomach. The sight takes his breath away – goddamn he’d give up anything just to stay in this moment forever – and Natsu can’t help but stare at his beautiful wife.
Lucy meets his eyes through the mirror and starts, surprised to see him before her lips stretch to form that smile – the smile only reserved for him. Natsu’s suddenly overwhelmed with how beautiful she is, how Lucy was his – how'd he ever get so lucky to have her? - and his throat grows tight, the emotions rushing through him, leaving a warm feeling curling around his heart.
He wasn’t sure he deserved Lucy but Natsu would do his damn best to prove to her that she hadn’t made a mistake in letting him love her and her loving him.
Natsu stands behind her, one hand on the back of the chair, clutching her hairbrush, the other gently turning her face so he can press a soft kiss against her lips. Lucy smiles against his mouth before he pulls away, grinning at her reflection in the mirror.
“I’m all fired up! Ice Princess and Gajeel don’t know what's gonna hit ‘em. I’ll be the best dad in Fairy Tail.”
“You going to have more practice than them.” Lucy laughed, the sound pleasing to his ears. He loved her laugh. “Levy’s not due for another six months and Juvia’s still trying to get pregnant... although I’ve noticed her glowing recently, so I’m pretty sure they’re just hiding it from the guild...”
Natsu shrugged and gathered a handful of Lucy's golden hair, brushing through the strands, the bristles lightly scratching the skin of his palm. “They should’ve gotten ‘em knocked up earlier. I beat them at that, too!”
Lucy gasped, choking down a laugh. “Natsu!”
“Only joking Luce.” He wasn’t and Lucy’s eye roll showed that she knew that too. Lucy handed him a bunch of pink hair ties that he’d put on his wrist for easy access, a move he’d seen girls around the guild use.
He wasn’t going to let Lucy’s hair defeat him!
Natsu had his hand at a bunch of hairstyles Lucy had throughout the years; the one she had when they’d first met, the low placed pig-tail things she’d worn for a while, the long side pony-tail she’d sometimes do and a few others. The stupid pig-tails were the hardest foe he’d ever had to face. He couldn’t get the symmetry right even with Lucy’s exasperated guidance and she was often left with lopsided tails.
He would master this hairstyle no matter what. His little girl would undoubtedly be the cutest in it – much like her mother – and Natsu only provided the best for his family. He would defeat the pig-tails and claim his victory!
After his thirty attempts of getting it right, Lucy was starting to get restless. Her stomach rolled with nausea, her scalp was sore from all the attention it as getting (plus Natsu did not have the most gentle hand even when he tried), and she was craving flaming hot pancakes dipped in chilli sauce.....
If she was craving that, she worried about what her baby was going to eat – no doubt she would be as ravenous as her father... Lucy cried for her future self’s wallet.
Just as she was about to pull away, Natsu made a triumphant cry, pumping the air.
Her hair was neatly parted with no oddly shaped bumps or loose strands – except for the few that Natsu had kept out in the front, knowing that was how she liked it. The pigtails themselves were perfect, symmetrical and even with one another. Natsu’s proud, grinning face watched her reaction in the mirror, puffing out his chest smugly.
“I’ve mastered the pig-tails now. Our kid’s gonna have the best hair in the guild – no, Magnolia!” The sight of her husband so proud of himself for getting a hairstyle perfect during practice for their baby sent tears flowing from her eyes. Damn hormones!
Natsu’s arms circled around her, resting his chin atop of her head, grinning at the reflection of the pair in the mirror.
“I’d like to see those two bastards’ try to top my skills.”
-
This was a headcanon given to me by @princessofthedreamland I hope you liked it Lucy! Also, you should know by now that I’m going to tag you even if you use anon! Lmao.
I sort of went off track with this one because Natsu interacting with pregnant Lucy just makes me all fuzzy. Sorry about that <3 Also, if you liked this, feel free to check out the rest of my work here!

NALU one-shot: “Train Station.”
Tumblr media
Natsu’s been on a long mission and Lucy’s grateful that he’s home.
Lucy is a tightly wound package of overeager nerves and a disconcerting combination of this is happening this is happening this is happening that has somehow managed to cram inside her body. It almost feels as if she’d burst at the seams but her current plight was kept hidden from the bustle and hustle of Magnolia train station, displayed as a woman with nervous, hoping eyes and a foot that’s determined to keep tapping against the ground.
It’s actually quite a feat, being so outwardly in control, since Lucy is three seconds away from pacing around her bench just to have something to do. She rests her hands in her lap instead, clutching each other tightly as she focused on any hint of an alarmingly loud train whistle headed her way.
And when it does whistle, she’s not sure if it's her heart in her throat or just a lump of the oncoming tears stinging the back of her eyes.
Lucy stands long before the familiar train rolls into the station, wringing her wrists, eyes locked on where she knows it will come through. She’s not sure what’s worse: sitting on that damn bench knowing it’ll arrive or now waiting for the train to hurry up and pull into the station because -
Lucy exhales sharply through her nose, fiddling with a wayward strand of hair that’s come loose.
The air practically reverberates with the sound of gears shifting, wheels turning, and the series of short, ringing bursts of the train’s whistle and it only seems to ramp up her own excitement, a silly grin threatening to plaster itself on her face.
When the train makes itself visible, it’s like all the nerves in her body have burst and are bouncing around inside her body, heart racing and adrenaline pumping through her veins as if she’s just come off a battlefield.
Natsu’d taken an almost six-month mission and he was adamant it was something he had to do. He’d only taken Happy along and even then, the exceed had returned a few weeks earlier due to reasons no one could get out of him – not even Carla – and had only said Natsu would be arriving back home on this train.
Lucy had been beside herself with worry but it was Natsu, and she trusted that he’d be okay. She’d missed him more than anything. Lucy had gotten used to him barging into her apartment, eating all her food, sleeping in her bed and just making her life rowdier and altogether much brighter. So losing that familiar routine, despite how much she grumbled about it, had been a difficult thing to go through again.
She watches as the train nears closer, feeling very much like the ground as it slightly trembles under the sheer force of its weight, as the tension coiled in her muscles expands due to her anticipation. The pressure builds as the train slows to a stop, series of whistles piercing the air that she can barely hear under her excitement.
The doors open and -
A disarray of pink hair, green-tinged skin, a wobbly smile with sharp teeth poking out, and the familiar burn of his eyes is all Lucy sees as Natsu flops off the train, cheek pressed against the floor with his bottom high in the air. A warm smile is pulled from her lips as she shakes her head at the pitiful scene she’s long gotten used to, all the tension and anxiety seeping out of her pores at once.
They’re replaced by a rush of pure relief and it floods throughout her body like a reassuring wave. Lucy knew he’d be okay but knowing and seeing was two very different things. She’d gotten used to having his back during fights and sometimes Natsu was, er, a little reckless (he’d gotten much better at thinking ahead, much to the relief of many) so it was natural for Lucy to get a little anxious.
It had been reminiscent of the year he’d up and left for training, except she’d gotten a face-to-face “I’m leaving” this time around. It wasn’t as difficult, having the guild around and her being able to be with her family, but Natsu was an integral part of her life so having him suddenly not there was -
Was like the loneliness that clung to her entire being had never really left.
The other passengers' part like a red sea, unconcerned glances tossed at the wizard gurgling on the floor as they step off the train – the familiar look of people forced to share a train with a motion-sick dragonslayer for an agonising extended period. Lucy rushes forward, kneeling over to hook her hands under his arms, pulling him up so he could rest his deadweight against her body. “Long time no – urgh, see Luce.” is pressed against her temple, lips forming the words on her skin as he fights the urge to gag.
Lucy winces in sympathy, half praying he won’t throw up in her hair because that’s going to be a problem, the other half just excited that he’s really back.  “I missed you too - but not enough to not kick your ass if you vomit on me.” She threatens playfully, dragging him over to the bench she’s designated as hers and lets him fall into it, a shaky groan tumbling from his mouth.
Lucy takes the time to just look at him. His hair’s gotten a bit longer, slightly tangled but still fluffy as it always was (something she was very passive-aggressive about since he didn’t even try!), and there’s smudges of dirt on his cloak, undoubtedly from his trek across the country. His scarf is settled in place, the cleanliest and most well-cared for item on his entire body as it always was.
“It’s good to see you again.” Lucy murmurs as she sits down beside him, automatically adjusting as he leans against her, her fingers idly playing with the ends of his scarf. Natsu stays silent for a few moments, working past the nausea turning his belly, as he slowly is rejuvenated by the feeling of solid ground.
“Glad to be back home,” Natsu breathes, shaking his head as if the action will rid him of the last remnants of the motion sickness. His spirits suddenly lifted, Natsu hops to his feet and turns to her with a wide, toothy grin. “Man, I can’t wait ‘ta see everyone.”
Lucy huffs a laugh as she rises to her feet, dusting off the back of her skirt. “You just want to eat Mira’s food with Happy and get into a fight with Gray.”
“Damn right I do. Haven’t had a good fire in my belly or a proper fight in months.” Natsu wrinkled his nose, “Just don’t tell Ice Prick I said that.”
“Wouldn’t dream of it.” Lucy rolls her eyes, both at his words and the silly grin his lips have curved into. A warm, soft feeling settles in her chest as Natsu’s grin melts into something a little softer, a little more private, as he takes her in just like she had done to him.
“Everyone will be excited to see you. Pretty sure even Gray was complaining about not having you around earlier.” She turns, ready to begin the minor trek to the guild, when Natsu snatches her arm and pulls her in, falling against his chest with a surprised eep. Natsu wraps his arms around her, sighing into her hair.
“Really missed ya Lucy.”
Lucy bites her lip to stop the smile threatening to overtake her face, melting at his touch. “I missed you too.” His body was emanating the warmth she’s learnt to recognise as Natsu and he smelled exactly like he had when he’d left – natural smoke, spices, and a hint of the earth. Lucy soaks it all in greedily, throwing her arms around him and holding him just as tightly.
They stay like that for a few, long moments, just reveling in the presence of each other. Strangers pass them in a blur as the two cling to one another – Lucy hadn’t been the only one who’d been itching for him to return home – ignoring all the strange looks and quiet, confused whispers behind turned palms.
Natsu lets out a happy, content sigh that she feels rumble through her own body. He presses a gentle kiss to the top of her head before turning to rest his cheek against her hair, eyes closed as he breathes in the comforting, familiar scent of Lucy.
“It’s good to be home.”
-
Unfortunately, I don’t have a URL to tag so I hope the anon who requested this sees it! It’s probably not what they were expecting so I apologise lol, I just got a bit carried away. Ah, to all the others who’ve requested something I promise I’m working on them. It just takes a while to get them out :)
Hope you enjoyed! <3

rent or an exorcism
inspired by this for @lovelyluce
Lucy waved the lighter enticingly towards the edge of the bed, crouched down on her knees, cheek hovering over the floor. “Come out, demon demon.”
“I’m not a child,” hissed a voice from in the darkness underneath her bed, sulky and petulant.
“You sure as hell are acting like one, Natsu.” Lucy flicked the lighter off, leaning back to sit on her heels. “If you keep hiding under there, I’m going to drag you out.”
“Luuuucy.” The demon whined, the whites of his eyes blinking owlishly at her. “Go away.”
She scoffed loudly. “This is my bedroom. Now stop being such a little devil and get out from under my bed!”
“No.”
Lucy closed her eyes, breathing through her nose sharply. “Natsu, you’ve eaten me out of house and home. Do you know how expensive you are as a tenant? And I didn’t even give you permission to live here!”
Natsu remained silent, shifting under the bed, his barbed tail scratching against the wooden floorboards with a wince-inducing screech. Lucy really hoped he hadn’t damaged her floor otherwise there’d be hell to pay. Literally.
“You need to start paying rent or I’m calling the priest.”
There was a loud, betrayed gasp followed by a thud of what Lucy assumed was Natsu’s horns against her bed frame, as he stuck his head out from his hiding place. “How could you, Lucy?”
Lucy scowled down at the demon’s face, eyes narrowed on his scaly features. “Better start paying up or I will exorcise you.”

Lucy of Fairy Tail
for @lovelyluce , who I love with all my heart & very much deserves the world.
Natsu licks his fingers clean, leaning back with a lazy, satisfied smile plastered on his face. Belly full with good food and the fire they’d managed to convince the bewildered staff to wrangle up for him left Natsu one happy man.
Although the happiness didn’t seem to extend to Lucy, who’s current look replaced the warmth with a sour ache in his stomach. He’d only seen it a couple of times when Lucy doubted herself or was thinking bad of herself in general – both of which Natsu wished he could burn right up. “What’s goin’ on in that head of yours, eh Lucy?”
“Oh!” Lucy starts, jarred from the place she’d been stuck in her mind by the sound of his voice. She averted her gaze, scratching her arm in the way Natsu’d long come to recognise as her feeling uncomfortable. “It’s nothing. Just thinking about the job, that’s all.”
Natsu narrowed his eyes – that tone was something he wished he wasn’t so familiar with. Lucy didn’t sound right having such a defeated, small voice. He leaned forward, resting his elbows on the wooden table that the waiter just cleared, pinning a skeptical stare on his now squirming partner. “Lucy. What’s wrong?”
“Nothing -”
“Cut the crap, Luce. I can tell there’s something up with you.” Natsu watched as she shrunk into herself and then said, in a much softer tone, “Tell me what’s wrong Lucy.”
Lucy swallowed thickly before meekly making eye contact, absently twirling a blonde strand around her pinkie. “I just – I didn’t do much in that job, you know? The team is so strong and I’m -” Lucy heaved a sigh, shaking her head. “It’s nothing to worry about, Natsu.”
“Whadd’ya talkin’ about? Ya helped a ton back there! We wouldn’t have gotten out if ya hadn’t noticed the disillusion spell the bastard had cast.”
Lucy shifted in her seat, eyes downcast and disbelieving, so Natsu carried on, voice growing firmer with every word. “And if it weren’t for ya quick thinkin’ the dark wizard would’ve hit me with that spell. Lucy you saved my ass there.”
“Anyone would’ve done it -”
“No. Lucy, you should know as well as I do that the only reason I’m alive right now is because you blocked that attack.” He reached forward to grasp her small hands in his and raised the one with her guild mark, shoving the image in her face. “You’re a Fairy Tail wizard and you’re my partner. You’re one of the strongest wizards I know Lucy. Never think that you aren’t.”
Lucy blinked rapidly, keeping the tears that made her pretty eyes glisten at bay, and offered a wobbly smile. “Okay, Natsu.”
He let go of her hands and flopped back against the cushioned booth, fingers intertwining over his stomach with a satisfied curl to the edge of his mouth. Natsu watched as the doubt clouding her eyes faded as Lucy returned back how Lucy should be.
The doubt would appear again. It always did, but Natsu would always be there to fight off. That was something he made sure of.
“So, ready for dessert, Lucy?”
“Natsu, you just cleared out the entire restaurant. I’m not going to live on the street because you wanted dessert!” Lucy exclaimed, throwing up her hands in the air before hugging her wallet to her chest, side-eying him with distrust.
Yeah, Natsu thought as he roared with laughter, that’s his Lucy of Fairy Tail.

random scene I wrote a few days ago
“Lucy,” Natsu murmurs slowly, uncharacteristically quiet as he shifts over to her, movements tightly controlled. “Don’t move.”
Lucy only nods, a slight turn of heard barely noticeable by (hopefully) nobody but her partner. The swamp water is thick around her thighs, oozing a putrid smell that has her eyes watering – she doesn’t know how Natsu is faring with his sensitive nose, but it’s likely not good.
Lucy can tell he’s somewhere on her left but she’d be a fool to turn her head to see the reassuring form of her partner. Horologium’s time limit had run out and she’d been left splashing into filthy swamp water, unbeknownst to the two mages that the guardian of said swamp water did not appreciate the disturbance.
It was a monster they’d never encountered before. It was fairly large, oozing thick, black sludge with air pockets bubbling up to its skin’s surface and releasing toxic air when popped. Lucy could discern two, yellow pinpricks of what she believed to be eyes shifting on the base of its stomach.
Lucy withheld a wince as a particular large air pocket burst, sending tendrils of green fumes tinged with dark purple into the air a little too close for comfort. She’s barely breathing, partly from the poison the monster’s releasing, partly due to the attention that’s pined on her.
It’s slimy limbs are twitching atop the water’s surface, edging closer to her every time she so much as moved a single muscle. It seems to be ignoring Natsu, who’s managed to sneak up behind her, pressing his chest against her back as he places his warm hands on her hips protectively. “I think it’s blind.” Natsu rasps low in her ear, fingers tightening as the monster jerked slightly in their direction.
“I’m gonna burn it.”
Lucy’s eyes widened as she flinched at his words but she’s unable to express why he shouldn’t do that. The gas it excretes could likely be flammable and that would not end well. Lucy muffles a frantic “no” behind her closed lips, shaking her head as discreetly as she can but –
Natsu, of course, does it anyway.

for you are a demon & I am a traitor
“Good ta’ see you, angel.” The demon grinned, tongue running against the sharp teeth that had been coated with the blood of her brethren only a moon ago. Lucy bristles slightly, feathers twitching as she frowns at him, fighting as the corners of her mouth curl up, trying to betray her as she eyes him with distaste.
It was only fitting, the last remains of her loyalty spoke up, for her body to betray her as she had done to her brothers and sisters.
“Why won’t you ever say my name, Natsu?” Lucy raises an amused eyebrow, giving her wings a light flap as if warding away the guilt prickling at her skin.
The demon’s grin only grew, far too much teeth yet still as bewitching as the first time she’d seen it. He ignores her question, as light-hearted as it had been – it seemed like he was always withholding answers behind the smile he knows makes her knees weak – and plucks the white flower right out of her grip. He’s careful not to let his claws graze her skin, the green stem pinched between the pads of his fingers, and they both watch as the pretty petals wilt under his touch.
Lucy can see it for what it is – one of the numerous warnings and signs he’d been shoving in her face since they’d begun their secret meetings – and ignores it with gritted teeth, a strained smile spreading across her lips.

new NALU AU idea I’m toying with
She sat up, pink sheets bunching around her ankles as she brushed away wayward golden strands of hair out of her face. Her eyes were heavy, half-lidded from sleep and the woman blinked slowly as she began to wake up properly. Natsu held his breath, still as a statue.
The gold and silver jewellery decorating her wrists chimed together as she moved, and glittery gems lining her temples glinted under the light as the woman tilted her head.
Natsu offered a tentative smile as they made eye contact.
The genie screamed.
Natsu cringed as she fell off the bed in her haste to scramble away, hitting the floor with a pained thump and a groan. She poked her head over her bed, eyes wide and fearful as she stared at Natsu, her red sheer veil wrinkled over her face.
“Who – Who are you?”

NALU One-Shot: “the green starry sky.”
Lucy’s father goes on far too many business trips and Natsu sneaks into her house when he’s away so she’s never lonely.
The stars glowed a faint, dull green overhead, some of the points peeling off the ceiling visible even in the darkness of her bedroom. They had been stuck there long ago, had been her favourite addition to her room as a child, and even though her father regularly told her to take them down Lucy refused to. They were old and didn’t work half as well as they used to but the nostalgia made her adamant to keep the glow stickers on her ceiling.
Lucy watched as a particularly large star’s glow dimmed right before her eyes, shifting slightly on top of her bed into a more comfortable laying position. “Oi,” came a disgruntled voice from beside her. “Watch ya elbows!”
“You could just get off my bed, Natsu.” Lucy rolled her eyes as Natsu gasped dramatically, the sound loud against her ear.
“And lay on the floor? Nu-uh, no way Luce. Got the best view of the stars from up here!” Lucy could see the outline of a tanned arm gesture to her ceiling through the faint cracks of illumination from her covered window. She only hummed in response, following the arms direction back up to the dull, green starry sky.
“Thanks for coming.” She whispered even though they were alone. The house was empty, bar the two teenagers squashed together on her too-small bed, propped up by numerous fluffy, pink pillows, but Lucy was still anxious about being discovered. Her father wouldn’t return until well past midnight and she would be able to see the headlights of his car from behind her curtain as he pulled into the driveway but it didn’t alleviate her anxiety. If Jude returned to find his only daughter alone in her bedroom with a boy, Lucy knew she’d be grounded for the rest of her life and confined to the house, all the way into the afterlife.
Natsu huffed a soft laugh. Lucy could feel it as if it were passing through her due to how close their bodies were together, cramped and overlapping due to her bed, and it was as reassuring as the words he spoke next. “What kinda best friend would I be if I let ya get lonely in a big house like this?” His head turned to look at her and he grinned wide, eyes glinting as a stranger’s car’s light passed through the window as they drove along the street. Lucy returned his grin with a soft smile, shuffling her head forward to rest her forehead against his.
“Still. Thank you.”
“Anytime Lucy,” Natsu breathed as her eyes fluttered shut, his fingers reaching for a blonde strand as it fell across her temple, pushing it back to its rightful place. The room lit up once more as another car passed but quickly faded to the dark once more, green stars twinkling overhead.
Natsu cleared his throat quietly and shifted onto his back, one hand resting under the back of his neck, eyes searching the starry ceiling. “When’s your father out next?”
“Mhm. Friday, I think.” Lucy murmured against her pillow. “It’s all the way into the city so he won’t be home for two days.” Jude Heartfilia was a business man who frequently went out of town for meetings and other events. It was an aspect to her childhood she’d long gotten used to but it didn’t help the ache of her heart as she was left alone in the house. When it was just her, it reeked off loneliness from every crook and cranny and felt cold against her skin. Lucy didn’t like to be alone despite having been exactly that for many, many years – or, well, until now. With Natsu.
Ever since he’d found out how often her father went out of town, he made it his mission to climb into her window and keep the loneliness at bay. It was sweet and if she thought on it too much, she’d likely get a little teary-eyed (nobody had really cared that much before). She really did have the best friend in the entire world.
“What... What if we have, like, a sleepover?” Natsu coughed, keeping his eyes firmly rooted onto the ceiling.
Lucy’s eyes snapped open and she pushed herself up with one elbow, leaning over Natsu to look at him. “I couldn’t ask you to do that! I feel bad enough that you keep me company when father’s out. I know it makes you tired and your house is so far away...”
“Lucy,” Natsu pinned her with a hard stare. “I want to. It’ll be fun! We can eat popcorn and talk through those Disney movies ya like so much. And pizza! I can ask Gray to cover for me, no problem. It’ll be easy.”
Lucy felt her resolve cracking as Natsu placed his palms against her cheeks, squishing the skin until her lips puckered out like a duck. He snickered at the funny expression, eyes warm. “C’mon, let’s have a sleepover! Ohh, wanna do our nails? Girls do that at sleepovers, yeah?”
Lucy batted his hands away with her free arm, rolling her eyes. “That’s a stereotype.”
Natsu shrugged one shoulder. “I think I can do a pretty mean paint job. You’ll have the best nails in school.” Lucy laughed, quiet and fond, and the sound of it made Natsu’s lips stretch into his familiar, easy grin.
Natsu’s grin melted into something smaller, something softer, and he gently twirled a lock of her hair around his finger. “We can probably go out in the gigantic backyard of yours and look at the real stars...”
Lucy’s eyes widened and the boy turned his head, cheeks flushing a faint pink barely visible under the darkness of her room. “Only if ya want. I know ya like lookin’ at ‘em and ya dad doesn’t really let ya... The real thing’s a little cooler than your ceiling, right?”
“Okay.”
“But it’s totally up to y - Okay?”
“Let’s have a sleepover, Natsu.” Lucy giggled at the silly expression plastered on his face. “Let’s eat popcorn and sing along to Disney movies with pizza while you give me the best nails in school.”
The brightness of Natsu’s grin did more than enough to lighten up the room. Lucy returned his with an equally bright smile of her own, stretched wide until her cheeks began to ache.
“Aw, sweet! I’m all fired up!”
-
... and then Jude came home.
LOL, just kidding. I just whipped this up right now and not sure how I feel about it but decided to post anyway! Hope you liked this little piece of NALU fluff! Not sure when ogc or the parking lot will be updated but I promise I’m working on it! I really needed that break, but I can’t wait to start posting more content!
If you liked this, you can check out the rest of my work here!
