hi outsiders fandom ive been lurking for awhile so heres a little doodle dump. maybe ill post real content later (ik these r lame but ive been in an art block n randomly got motivation to draw so we're working w it)

im currently rehearsing a production of the outsiders play so thats what is fueling my fixation rn 🔥 i have a feeling a lot of my content (if i post it lmao) will be at least inspired by the play more so than the book just bc thats what im focused on rn so yea little disclaimer 😊 if u see me post art of the gang n they all look incredibly different from their book/movie counterparts its bc im gonna base designs on our cast bc projecting is fun 💥 these drawings were half based on the book/movie and half based on our play so. theyll probably change tho as we work on the show. ik this isnt rly relevant at all i just felt like rambling abt our show bc im hella excited. also i play pony so ‼️ the amount i will project on him will be crazy

I'm genuinely so so SO glad that so many people seem to be getting much joy from these creations, but AI generated videos in general make me PHYSICALLY uncomfortable. I'm honestly not sure why, I'm guessing it's an uncanny valley thing or possibly a sensory thing (I have the 'tism), but it truly doesn't even matter if it's my favourite boys kissing, I literally feel nauseous when I see uncanny videos like this, and I've been seeing them a fair bit recently for obvious reasons

to be 100% clear, I'm not asking anybody to stop making them or sharing them, I am sincerely so glad that they can bring people happiness! I only ask, if you see this, to tag them with some kind of AI-related tag so I don't see them from now on

But they’re missing the point!! Both peering into the deep past and speculating on the distant future excites them more than anything, but the only place they can do that is now! The only time to put the knowledge of the past into action and lead it to the future is NOW, baby! You have to keep your feet planted so you don’t lose yourself in the vast stretches of deep time. Also their girlfriends aren’t in the fucking fossil record lmao

Lily: Future - she’s spent enough time peering into her past, and she’s got a good thing going in the present day now - and she’s so, SO excited about what’s next! The present is merely a stepping stone towards your future goals; there is only moving forward - to become complacent is to stagnate! If you meet a goal? Find a new one and keep marching on!!

Buddy: Future - well, they liked it when it rained and all the desert flowers and bugs and animals came to life. Thresher says it’s going to rain again next year, in the rainy season. And next year is in the future. And they’ll see the desert bloom again :)

Since the approach is “The Splatoon has been translated to English/Japanese for the audience but they speak their own language in-universe” I’ve been trying to be mindful about knowing what my main characters’ “real” names actually mean. The relevance between “localized” names and their real names’ meanings get shaky on my earliest characters since I hadn’t fully internalized this thought process yet and was just vaguely mimicking official characters though lol but even with my later characters where I’m being more deliberate I’m not usually looking to translate names 1 to 1

Anyways I think the only character whose name means the exact same thing in every language is Lily Aoi. Lily is a Lily and her family name is Hollyhock. Girl is flowers all the way down. Doesn’t get any simpler than that!!
