It's been awhile since I created a full color piece (a whole year to be exact), but the crazy is finally dying down and I was able to finally get around to coloring to this lovely creature. My depiction of Aenocyon dirus, the newly re-classified dire wolf. It was discovered that dire wolves were their own canid species (much like the dhole or maned wolves) and not related to wolves at all. Scientists hypothesize that they were likely red in color with larger ears and bushy tails much like "a really large coyote". I decided to go with a hybridization of the dhole, maned wolf, and wolf/coyote pelt and markings. The necklace consists of a megalodon tooth, two American lion fangs, abalone shell, Larimar beads, and green turquoise beads. “Ancient Guardian” Watercolor and colored pencil on 9 X 12 smooth Bristol paper. Recently on twitter I saw that they posted a somewhat old news, that they had found some mummified animals of the Pleistocene of 40,000 years ago, among those remains I am struck by the head of a giant wolf similar to canis dirus only that the head was still whole with skin and hair and what is surprising is that he still had the color of when he was still alive. So I drew the Wolf and painted it based on the color of the Wolf's head, a Coyote and the Ethiopian Wolf, mix the colors and I must admit that I stay well, regarding the species of the wolf, experts concluded that by the shape of the skull and tooth position, which does not belong to the Canis Dirus species but could belong to a prehistoric variant of the Gray Wolf called Canis Cf. Lupus. Asi que dibuje al Lobo y lo piente basandome en el color de la cabeza del Lobo, un Coyote y el Lobo Etiope ,mezcle los colores y debo admitir que me quedo bien, respecto a la especie del lobo, expertos concluyeron que por la forma del craneo y la posicion de los dientes, que no pertenece a la especie Canis Dirus sino que podria pertenecer a una variante prehistorica del Lobo Gris llamada Canis Cf. Got any ideas? I mean, I just am frustrated at how lately I've been turned off at Ella because of anons again. It's why I've moved my attention to less hated characters that I have. Like Damali, or Claudia. It's upsetting how I'm trying to please people and I can't even please people AND myself.

The warm sunlight shone through the trees giving the floor of the woods a speckled effect, as Angel wandered along. It was a great day for exploring those woods and she had set off an hour ago. The little blonde was about to turn around and walk back when she saw a building and a clearing through the branches. Carefully walking up to the door she knocked on it and waited.
