honestly, starclan as a religion... kinda sucks. it acts more like a magical system, or something. there are no religious holidays, and there's no like,,, "rational explanation" for atheists and other cats that don't believe in starclan. like it's canon that starclan exists and they have a legitimate afterlife and these cats can also physically manifest on earth?? there's no folklore, like a creation story. apprentices don't have any pilgrimages to the holy site before getting their full name anymore. it's all so... empty and boring.

I know several other people have redrawn that one official cloudtail & brightheart art but i wanted to take a crack at it. Hire me harpercollins.

actually when you think abt it, it wld have been so interesting to compare scourge and hawkfrost. scourge was explicitly beaten bc he didn't have or know abt the nine lives given by starclan. hawkfrost played into clan beliefs to succeed. firestar took advantage of the lives meant for war and protecting his clan, while hawkfrost played exactly into clan rules and expectations to get a step ahead,

the fact that u cld spin it as hawkfrost manipulating the scene just to attempt to kill fire himself. that's So tasty and dramatic,

New vs. Old Spottedleaf, roughly 6 years apart. My style has definitely changed since then ... it's only messier because I have less time than ever to dedicate to drawing canon characters! But I want to try and redo all the ones I've done so far, at least. Feel free to send in requests for your favorites if you want.

With that said, I've never pictured Spottedleaf as a tortoiseshell. A lot of these depictions are based off the image I initially saw in my mind when I read the series, so may not be entirely compliant.
