Mm, ok, funfacts without spoilers.

Again, i planned the end first so i have a fairly good idea of where im headed, there is a possible bad ending however unlike the Heart Machinations one.

Originally i pictured the story with Jonah instead of Elias due to a plot point at the end. But i ended up scrapping it, because i figured another way to go at it instead, that would also work.

I have a chapter in the freezer waiting to be put out, unfortunately its like the biggest spoiler and i have to put it almost at the end, which is ironic because its literally my favourite one from someone elses perspective that is not Peter or Elias. Its the actual backbone of the story in a way, without it there is no plot. Unfortunately i need to wait or else i would ruin a surprise.

I wrote i think the first 8 chapters in like 3 days. Because i originally wanted to write the entire thing in one go and publish it all in one day. Just dump the entire thing one night like nothing and wait in the morning for the chaos.

Its not the first time i have wanted to do that. It wont be the last, i just find the idea o writing a long story and just randomly drop the entire thing without explanation hilarious for some reason. I dont do it because i will get so very little comments that the effort would be for nothing. But honestly? One day i might just do it for the hell of it. My brand of chaos is weird i know.

I started this before the ending of Tma and i had a plan for something that was happening in the background. But due to my now anger at a certain character actions that happened there i decided to change it, i mentioned in one of the end notes in a chapter i think that i was going to change a few ships in the background due to it. It doesnt involve Peter/Elias, but i was going to play the story in a different manner.

Im considering doing something evil, but again its fueled by my own frustration with the ending. I will see if i end up doing it or not, maybe i calm down by then.

I briefly considered to keep the story more or less a paralell to Heart Machinations, since as i said Elias was doing his own prince Au thing. But it wouldnt be sustainable in the long run if i wanted to explore some different characters and relationships. So this is an Au based on the idea, but not connected. Sorry if that dissapoints, but i would have caged myself if it kept it like that. I did however use characters from there, like Titania and Missy, plus a few relationships. I will make more nods to that in the story of course in future chapters.

Mm, what else. Oh, well i have decided to let them be soft and fall into all the typical romance tropes, because in my head, they are living a fantasy romance with the ocasional horror. Thats why im leaning more into them being idiots and soft. Also i really love the sharing the bed trope so much while they are both dumb and dont realize they are catching feelings.

Speaking of wich!! Something you point out that i find funny is that Peter realized it first this time. Here is the thing, i find there is a difference between having a crush and realizing you are in love with someone.

Peter can have a crush but not be in love. Yet.

Same with Elias who admits to find him atractive, neither think its love, but rather regular atraction. When they do figure out that its love, oh boy.

Peter will be the slow one in that scenario i assure you. Again i already have planned the scene for Elias a while now, thats why i want to move the plot forwards now, but i got stuck in the chapter im writing cause i need several things to happen in quick sucession, however i cant think of how to put it.

mmm favourite scene to write was Peter alone in the ship. Him just slowly losing time and becoming isolated due the magic and curse? Plus the Sirens trying to catch him with promises of Elias? Cheff kiss.

Also i really, really wanted to make the sex dungeon joke. It was the best shot i had for that.

Ah! Elias staying with Annabelle was going to be a little bit more fucked up, with the whole spiders and mind control, but since i decided this world was not going to be that dark, i simplified it. If heart Machinations was inspired by portal, Prince Au was inspired by tangled. Both with their own doses of horror included per Tma normal rules.

The chapter with Simon explains actually a lot of things that i have left vague across the fic, no one pointed out the actual conection, but its ok, i think it will be funny when i actually go and say what the deal it.

The curse and the prophecy. With the first i had to struggle to think of what exactly were the used words for it, since as established the Fairies words are law. Once i figured the why’s and the how, it bacame obvious the way things would progress. Its.. not hard to break, but also not as simple as you may think. There is a reason why the Lukas never managed in 200 years.

The prophecy on the other hand, oh boy, thats fun. The non spoiler way to describe this is that i wanted to do a joke, but somehow everyone managed to miss the punchline. Now i realize it might have been my own fault for playing the long game, but honestly? Im just looking at my screen waiting to actually explain it and see everyone be like OH MY GOD IT WAS THAT SIMPLE???

I think thats like everything ii can think of now? Like if you have an actual thing you would like me to clarifie send another ask. I have fun explaining stuff. Unfortunately i cant go deeper than with the other stories since i would spoil the plot but yeah!! I hope this was good enough?

I’ve felt sick from this for a while but I didn’t think I was actually going to physically be. I’ve not eaten much. I haven’t been able to for quite a while now because I’ve felt just too off to and every time I’ve tried I’ve not managed much through feeling like I was going to be sick. and I’ve had very very little sleep in a long while but it’s especially worse lately with barely getting to sleep at all. and my chest has been aching constantly for so so long from all of this. Like a hammering, racing thud that won’t stop or even let up enough to let me rest. it feels like my ribcage itself is breaking From the constant pounding.

and i keep crying just... so so much until my throat is raw and my eyes burn and my head is well past ready to implode and it all just combined this morning and I was sick all over the floor. Mostly just water and stomach juices since there wasn’t really any food down there but my body kept retching anyway

felt like I was trying to force my heart up and out through my throat.

I didn’t think anything could ever floor me like this...

I don’t want them to know it’s made me this ill. It would do no good whatsoever. I don’t want them to feel guilty or worry because I know it’s not their fault their heart was able to move on instantly while mine remains stuck on them even all these months on. There may never have been a good time to tell me they were with someone new But I appreciate that they waited a while instead of dropping it on me right after they broke us up but.. man.. I don’t think any amount of time would’ve made it easy to stomach

I’m struggling so much trying to keep things together because they still want to be friends but that hurts so much. I’ve been trying to just accept it and heal but it’s not working. Just knowing them, every little thing they do and say, seeing their face, it will keep making me love them helplessly as it always has, even with knowing my time together with them is over. So I’m in for a painful time of endless yearning.

and im not a bitter person. If they’re going to be happy with this person I really do want them to be happy. They’re so wonderful and they deserve the world and more and if I can’t give them what they want and need anymore that’s just the harsh truth of life... I accept it reluctantly but it does little to stop my heart still feeling what it feels.

They deserve the best. I wanted so hard to be someone worthy of their love. I’d do everything to be right for them. I’m eternally thankful even for the small, blessed handful of years that they loved me at all.

But wanting someone you love to be happy and being absolutely destroyed at seeing them happy with someone new are things that can exist at the same time. And it’s like someone had stuck a fork in my chest and started mashing and twisting everything up.

i know how bad it looks to try to say that friendship after love feels as though it is too hard. I know it can come across in a toxic way like it’s making an ‘all or nothing‘ type ultimatum like ’you Have to be with me or you don’t get to know me at all’ but that’s not what I mean at all. That is cruel, especially when done intentionally in that manipulative manner. I don’t want to do that to them.

but the concept of going back to friends after something this deep and special and finding it impossibly hard to do and struggling is also not untrue... trying to still be in proximity to them as friends while I’m stuck agonisingly in love with them and keep helplessly falling over and over and its not even anything they’re doing in particular, it’s just them and I can’t help but love everything they are. I’m certain I’ll never fully get over them and I know everyone says that but this is different from anything I’ve had before. This really felt like it had a future and now it’s gone and I’ll never get them back and so many months later my heart is still sick and it is not doing me any good. But I don’t want to say some shit like ‘you’re not doing me any good’ or anything like that because that’s an awful thing to say.

i‘d said that I would need time to Try to heal time has passed and it’s not getting better and idk how long a wait is reasonable... especially when I know the moment I see or speak to them again any tiny scrap of progress I make will be blown away by that painful oncoming train of inescapable fondness And longing.

I care about them so much and I don’t want them to see me continue to suffer over a heart that can’t change and over something they themselves couldn’t help, but I also don’t want them to suffer or resent me if it really turns out I’m not strong enough of heart to be able to swallow the ache and bear it to stick around. I don’t want to be a burdensome weight on them. I don’t want them to be troubled looking at me and seeing someone who by still being around them just can’t even begin to move on. They Are just so loveable, how can I ever not feel helplessly in love with them.

but it really has been months and this isn’t getting better. The longer it goes the worse it gets and it’s not like I haven’t been trying to find ways to hurry up and heal so I can stop these feelings being a bother. This heart is just so stubborn... even before we were together I tried in vain for more than a year to shake off the ‘crush’. I couldn’t even manage that.

im not going to say I wish we never happened because god being with them was the happiest time of my life and I was so ready to work for a future by their side. But if I’d never been with them I’d never have known what I’d be missing and when they got someone to love I’d never be able to know the private things that would go on. I wouldn’t have vivid and sensory memories of those experiences to be haunted by. I’d never know what kissing them felt like or to be quite so wrecked knowing all the tender intimacies that will happen with someone else now, who will be much better at it than I ever was. But knowing them as personally as I was once permitted to, and knowing someone else will now get to do that, and maybe even more than I was able to, and to be better at it.. it settles deep in my bones, thick and tarry in my veins And I almost wish I could forget.

I cant compare to this person. he has me beat on every level. I’m sure they’ll both be happy and together a long time. They seem good for each other, I can’t deny that... And a good part of me wants them to be happy even if it has to be with someone who isn’t me anymore. But the heartbroken part of me that was never going to be ready to lose them wishes desperately that one day they’d come back and there’s just no point in hoping for something that’s surely impossible. What’s done is done.

but all of that and more cycles round and round in my head and my chest and churns until my body can’t take it and tries to eject it from my system as if it was as simple as puking out my feelings and being done with it.

no break up or hurt in my life has even come close to even beginning to scratch the surface of the magnitude of this deep ache in my soul. And there has been some truly awful fuckshit in my life.

i don’t want to let them down. I didn’t want to let them down in the first place, though whether there was more to our ending behind the scenes than just that I’ll never know. Maybe I’d been losing them long before I could have even tried anything about it.

but I don’t know how to move forward without it going badly one way or another

one side if I‘m a pathetic coward and run from the hurt that comes with being around them and seeing them, and the feelings that can’t die because who I am is just doomed to love everything they are, then I end up losing even the ability to know or have them in my life at all. And I would mourn that forever too. We become strangers and they probably forever feel hurt at the fact I couldnt stay close to them because of this weak, sensitive heart. I’ll be shelved in the past as a disappointment.

on the other I stay close to keep them in my life and my heart continues to break and yearn for the return of something that’s gone. The friend who never truly gets over them and always unconsciously hopes for a return. And constant exposure to their new love will fester under my skin and keep the aching wound fresh and weeping. And whatever friendship I try to salvage may come off awkward and unnatural. Especially if we were to meet face to face at cons or amongst the shared circle of friends again Where I can’t hide behind a convenient mask of carefully worded text to hide the feelings. I worry my heavy heart still so full of love that I’ll be unable to fully mask and hide will make them uncomfortable. Because dammit Lauren why can’t you just get over it already

i sound ridiculous and Its been the same stuff for this whole year. But god.. I love them so much and no matter what happens I know I’ll always be in love with them in some constant way all my life. They really were one of a kind. The gentlest sweetest soul with a patience that melted my heart and made me feel safer and more comfortable than anyone else ever could.

I really thought we could make it work. And though life circumstances played a big part in keeping us apart and making their feelings drift, maybe I was also always going to never quite be enough in comparison to Someone else. I wanted to be made for them, to be someone who deserved to stay in their heart as I once was, but maybe someone else was always going to be the better fit.

finding myself

people always take about “finding yourself” as if soul searching is something that happens in a single period of time. But truly, ive always known who I am. I am bold, I love adventure, I am way too loud sometimes and I love to laugh. I know what I like and I know what I don’t. So I don’t really think that I would say that I am finding someone who wasn't already there, I think im just shifting focus. I dont owe anybody anything, which is something I need to remember. I don’t have you, but at least I still have me. I have been doing a lot better but every say is still a rollercoaster. I will have hours of good vibes only for a mood shift or a hard assignment to put me in a bad headspace. But all in all, I'm doing significantly better. I have been practicing rejuvenating my soul by spending time with the Bible, going to the gym every day, trying to eat clean, practicing my affirmations and manifestations, and so much more. I only tracked you one time in the past 8 days. Its not perfect but its progress. Its just hard to adjust to the new normal, but I know it is better to love you from a distance. I have this bad habit of romanticizing the past as if things didn’t change for a REASON. I am truly grateful for the experiences you brought to me and even though those people and things have to become obsolete, I am still thankful I got to relish in it for a even a little bit. But as time goes on, I realize that I was stuck in a place when I was meant to ascend to so much more. I was meant for an extraordinary life, this I have always known. I realize now that continuing life with you would have resulting in me giving up some very special dreams in order to feel comfortable with you. I cant believe I was going to put Hawaii to the side just so that I could be closer to you. fuck that. I am meant to see the corners of the world and to experience all the joy that life has to offer. As I have been doing some significant soul reconstruction, I realize how arbitrary the material things in life are. at the end of the day, its not going to matter to me what kind of car I drive or how large my house is. the only thing that will matter to me is the experiences that I get and the memories I can keep when I am old. Thats truly the only thing that really matters. And I think you would have held me back and I think our life together would have been filled with over-consumption and compensation. I dont want that for myself. I know the love I have to offer is so vast. that is why I stuck with you and all of your problems for so long. while I wasn't compromising any of my morals or values, I was compromising my standards. You were so smart and funny and driven, but you just were NOT giving me the kind of passionate love that I deserved. I know you care about me, or at least I think you do, but I think our vibrations are on two very different levels. And I hate to say it but I know I am above you. I want to forgive you for essentially wasting my time... it is just hard to forgive you while I am still picking up the pieces. and I think “wasting my time” Is too strong of a statement, because at the end of the day I would have chosen to follow our path if given the chance again. I needed to know what if, I needed to explore it and see if it was meant for me. unfortunately, I know now that it was not. and to be honest I am not sure what silver lining there is to come out of our relationship. I dont think I learned any lessons really, just not to give someone so much time to fix their shit I guess. The only thing I can say I take away from this is that the next time I date someone, I refuse for it to be a charity case. of course you should always be working on yourself but I am not your babysitter, therapist, nor will I ever again be the person who makes you grow into who you need to be. whoever is my next love will come to me already knowing who he is, what he wants, and how special I am. Because I truly am one of the most special people, not to toot my own horn. everyone else is just sooooo bleh compared to me. maybe its the god complex or the Leo in me speaking but I just know I am right. and I truly am so close. I keep having to remind myself that there is strength in solitude and comfort in the unknown. if I say it enough, one day it will become true. One day I will see you out and and it won't make my skin crawl. one day I will see your name and I won't have any aversions to it. one day I won't be as sensitive to 2020 and all of the memories we made in quarantine. one day. one day.... one day I will make my dreams come true. I will give myself everything I want and deserve. and its a shame that you won't be there to be apart of it. But I want you to be happy. Granted, at the same time, I want to be the person who got away for you (manifesting this). I want you to come back in a year from now when ive completely forgotten about your existence and when you only cross my mind every few months when I see your posts on instagram. I want you to miss the fuck out of me when you realized that nobody else will give you the freedom and consideration that I did. I knew exactly how your brain worked. I studied you and your coping mechanisms and I know exactly what your mood is based off of your mannerisms. I mean maybe you will find someone who will be able to do the same, but seeing how I was the first person you weren't in a co-dependent relationship with, I have a hard time seeing that being the case. But again, I DO want you to be happy... I just selfishly dont want you to be happy before I am. I want to win the race. And I will. this was so unorganized but I just had a lot on my mind that I wanted to write down. moral of the story is that even though it is hard, I am still happy. I am chasing my dreams and I am becoming the best version of myself that I can. thankful to be here living this crazy beautiful life
