A little girl’s Christmas was ruined when her elderly rabbit passed away. The girl advocates for rabbits everywhere even though she’s only 8 years old. So a few days before Christmas, Papa hoomin is going to reward her rabbit advocacy be delivering Corey Glover to her as a nod from the Great Rabbit and tell her that Corey will be with her for many years to come. It is good. So the little girl who lost Jezzie the Sanctuary bunny (plus two other elderly girl buns in the last 14 months) now knows little Corey Glover will be coming to be her bunny but doesn’t know when. Both she and Corey can heal together as Corey came here because his brother escaped their hutch and disappeared, presumed dead. Corey will have a friend in Everett the Leveret who was adopted to the same family earlier this year. They may even be able to be bonded. They should both be around a long time and send this gal off to college! Hi, you can call me Pink! I had an embarrassing day. Oh, I had a lovely ride in the Bunny Limo with Papa hoomin as chauffeur. But then I met the new bunny vet and she called PH over and showed him that I’m not a boy like the lady said who left me behind. And Mama hoomin OBVIOUSLY didn’t check me thoroughly when I got here or I’d have been spared such embarrassment! But MH is busy, you know? Bob the Vulcan has no ears. Born without them. He has no incisors, had to have them all removed due to malocclusion. And the teeth he has need regular trimming. He’s Mr. Special Needs. Well, I guess this is another three hours donated to the bunnies. But their vet bills keep mounting. MH & PH are paying out of pocket retail prices (like they did for the new Royal Bunny Abode by Leith Petwerks - but did get a rescue discount) for the super premium Sherwood Health food which eliminates deadly bladder sludge senior buns get, costing thousands in vet bills and medication. Each year, fewer and fewer people help us out probably because we’re not able to accommodate retail-style adoptions. MH carefully advises adopters on which rabbits will fit their lifestyle the best and each adoption is done with a sense of craftsmanship. Remember that? It’s something adoption fees don’t cover. Really, we have donated our entire lives to bunny welfare. Yet, inspiring loyalty as adopters and donors is something gone with the wind, gone with the snows, and cool summers.
