Old art of F.A.N.G mains from 2021 to 2022. Mono, Mortsy, VegaPatch, MetalQueerSolid, DeeAncer, NovaSpec, Rotten Seagull. I wanted to show my support for them because they’re all absolutely incredible. And they are wonderful people in real life too. I find it astounding that many of them mained F.A.N.G as far back as Season 1 for Street Fighter V. A low tier character with an unorthodox design and personality. Like, I know people would be asking why stick to FANG when there are better characters than him? FANG was not strong for the majority of the game’s lifespan, and he wasn’t waifu/husbando material either lol (at least for mainstream fandom). How can people stick to such a character? There are several answers to this. F.A.N.G mains find him fun. They said he has neat tools, his play style clicks with them (many of them prefer charge), they love playing difficult characters, and/or they genuinely love his odd design and personality. I’d say they’re all very good reasons.

And then there was Mono’s CEO 2021 win where he grabbed the #1 spot. That was absolutely momentous. There’s even a fantastic documentary on it too.

There was also Xian that made F.A.N.G work in Season 1. He was so good that he placed at #9 with F.A.N.G at Capcom Cup 2016. Be mindful that I wasn’t part of the FGC back then so I don’t see it myself, but reading about it sounded very inspirational. Though I wouldn’t be surprised if Xian’s performance was one of the reasons why F.A.N.G got nerfed for Season 2 😂😂. That comes to show that F.A.N.G wasn’t a totally bad character just as long as people gave him a chance and lab with him.

I still have more FANG main art, but the max is 10 pictures per post. I’ll make another post on another day, which would include art for Capcom Cup IX because 3 F.A.N.G main’s qualified for that year (VegaPatch, Mono, Mortsy) and VegaPatch placed at #7. Update: Here’s the post:

Danganronpa or Ace Attorney?

That I can't really say. I have a very small understanding of Ace Attorney to have any real opinion of it. On the other hand, I am an extremely casual enjoyer of Danganronpa, but I don't list it as something I'm super committed to compared to other series I like.

1, 4, 19 and 36 for the Ace Attorney ask list!

1. Favourite Ace Attorney game? Technically AAI2, but I got so hung up trying to divine the mysteries and unresolved plot threads of AA4 to a point where honestly it looks like my fave game (you know that post something about "you will eventually run out of things to say about something that is very good and completed, but something that is mediocre and incomplete--but has the potential to be good--will haunt you forever?" yeah).

4. Favourite prosecutor? I'm basic and boring and Miles Edgeworth is still my fave prosecutor, and honestly he's one of the few characters who's character arc feels complete and was really well-written and fleshed out. I was and still am to some degree very unhinged about Klavier Gavin though (re: the mysteries, Capcom give me the forbidden Gavin lore I need to know if my 500 thousand insane theories are right or not). Also technically Kazuma Asougi bc he's my favorite DGS character and I was and to some degree still am also very unhinged about him.

I also really like Blackquill and just never talk about him, but he's such a weird and wild character, like, the exact inverse energy of Victor Frankenstein archetypes (saw a scene that would have made several other fictional characters go "oh god, what a monster this child is" but instead of reacting that way was like "oh yeah, based on her life experiences so far, that is what she would do, I now have to die to protect her bc everyone else is going to think she's a monster if they know the truth"--insanely gallant but unhinged thing to do sir).

19. Least favourite witness? Honestly can't remember off the top of my head? Maybe Moe the Clown? But dunking on Turnabout Big Top seems like the easy way out...

36. Do you like where the franchise is heading or did you prefer the atmosphere in the original trilogy? Well, considering Capcom hasn't done anything aside from port games for the past few years, I would like it if the series got literally any new content at this point.

But all that aside, while I think the overall writing of the original trilogy is very strong overall and more cohesively tied-together than later gams, I do still hold a lot of love in my heart for the newer games and like, the story/characters would have to be butchered a lot worse (than anything I've ever seen Capcom do with any of its game series I'm familiar with) to really put me off.

I mean, I'm a huge fan and have lots of love for far more poorly written/executed games than anything in AA (and have also put up with far worse or more frustrating developments in other game series despite actually not liking the new story/character direction; not AA, completely different series, don't worry about it). So really, all my quips or jokes about the current state of the series mean nothing. I know in my heart I will probably enjoy anything new. Unless it's an open-world game, then I would be a bit disappointed probably.

More old art of F.A.N.G mains from 2022 to 2023. A continuation from a previous post:

Capcom Cup IX…my goodness, I remember it was absolutely glorious. And can you believe there were 3 F.A.N.G mains that qualified on that year?! First it was Mono of Puerto Rico 🇵🇷, Vegapatch of Spain 🇪🇸 , and Mortsy of Canada 🇨🇦 . At first I thought I’d celebrate F.A.N.G’s last hurrah at EVO 2022, but Capcom Cup IX was even more hype. I was rooting for all three of them.

Though sadly Mono and Mortsy had to face each other since they were in the same pool, but their mirror match was spectacular.

A fun bit from that same pool was that Mono helped Momochi (Cody) get into Top 16 by winning against Big Bird’s Ken. From then on, the two were dubbed Monochi 😎👍😎👍

Vegapatch managed to nab the #7 spot, so a F.A.N.G player made it to TOP 8 in Capcom Cup. He beat out EVO 2022 champ Kawano’s Luke. Yes, a F.A.N.G won against a Luke, and that Luke was played by an extremely strong player from Japan. Now THAT is something to talk about!

I must mention that Garnet of Italy almost made it to Capcom Cup IX. He would have been the third F.A.N.G player (I drew that picture before Mortsy became the actual third) to have make it. There would have been 4 FANG mains really lol. But he was outdone by Geeck-O’s Cammy. That is not the end of it though. Garnet is qualified for this year’s Capcom Cup X as a Dhalsim main. Yes, he did tried out A.K.I. because of the F.A.N.G affiliation, but her playstyle is not quite the same as her Master’s…and AKI is in serious need of buffs lol 🙏🙏, and the game mechanics can be overwhelming. So he went back to Dhalsim. Nevertheless, I’m rooting for Garnet because he was an amazing former F.A.N.G main. And don’t mind the error on my other Garnet fanart as my mind slipped away writing 2020 instead of 2022 😅😅

Sometime after Capcom Cup IX, Mono competed at EVO Japan 2023 and placed at the 5th spot against a total of 1,797 participants. There was also a Monochi moment. And just a few days after, Mono flew to Southern California and placed 1st at DreamHack 2023 at San Diego. Super awesome!

One F.A.N.G main placed at 9th at Capcom Cup in SFV’s Season 1 in 2016. Three F.A.N.G mains at Capcom Cup was made possible in 2023, and one placed at Top 8. Hopefully we’ll get to see at least three A.K.I. Players in a Capcom Cup event by the end of SF6’s lifespan or even earlier than that 💜🤞🤞💜
