Adi Shankar lied about how he got the rights for Devil May Cry?
I want to present what I believe is considered evidence that contradicts the statement from Adi Shankar, the "visionary mind" , who only makes fanfics based on the IPs from other people....I want to hear your opinions about it and if some of you might have more evidence, please share with me. I've added another two screenshots at the end about other lies he said but I want to hear what some you might have to say.
So, I came across an interview that has been made recently and you can find it on the Forbes website.
I looked through it and there was one statement that I thought sounded weird because it different from what he said on his Twitter some time ago.
He stated that his mission was to acquire the rights for DINO CRISIS but Capcom gave him DMC instead.
Take note that it was Capcom's decision, thus it contradicts what Shankar posted on his Twitter:
Tumblr media
In the recent interview on the Forbes website, he says:
“I fought for this one. I spent a year in the trenches negotiating with Capcom to acquire the rights, finally locking it down in 2018.
Then, it became 2.5 years of literary obsession, me and my writing partner, Alex Larsen, forging the blueprint for this “Adi Shankar’s Devil May Cry” Universe.
OBJECTION!
According to what he posted on Twitter, he went to Capcom for Dino Crisis and I haven't found other statements that say that he had trouble getting the rights for DMC. It sounds like they were given easily by Capcom and I hate that in that recent interview he wanted to sound like he was some fucking warrior who fought to obtain them, most likely expecting for us to regard him as a hero.
Also, how stupid was Capcom to agree to give him the rights when that happened before DMC5 was even released? The game was revealed in 2018, and that's when the adaptation was mentioned, like even now Shankar still has that picture of him in Dante cosplay pinned on his Twitter page and it was from 2018. DMC5 released a year later. Like WTF, why ruin the release of the game by mentioning that Capcom would collaborate with that guy?
So yeah what do you think about what I presented?
Oh and look at some of his other lies.
Tumblr media
Sure you didn't...Ugh, I hate how he was boasting that he was the only person that Capcom allowed to see materials that would have been used for the 3rd volume of the manga that would have been about Lady.
Tumblr media
The last part...Fucking liar!

Generalized theory about re9
I'm looking forward to re9 as much as you are, and I have a lot of logical conclusions about what kind of story we'll be greeted with in it. But Capcom is good at surprising people, so my thoughts on this installment may just be a grain of sand in the sea or a half-truth.
In this theory I will give my view on the plot of re9 and give my arguments, so sit back, there will be lots of facts and pictures!
Tumblr media
Let's start with the fact that back in 2016 Capcom threw in an interesting plot detail for us called Umbrella Corps. I can't call it a real game, it's more of a story DLC for all games.
Tumblr media
The plot: the main character is an unnamed mercenary nicknamed 3A-7. He is part of the Umbrella Corps, a secret corps that belongs to Blue Umbrella, an organization that "reformed and got on the right path". Didn't it seem like a lie back in re7, right? The purpose of this corps is to search for bioweapon samples in quarantined areas that the BSAA has failed to sterilize well. The main character is involved in an operation called "The Experiment" but survives every step of the way due to his combat experience. The plot glimpses an unknown Corps Leader (Executive) who even his subordinates know nothing about. One man who sent 3A-7 on missions once wondered why this Executive was so feared, why he was so intimidating, and why he knew so much about the events in re4, as if he had been to that island himself. But only two men survived the events in re4 - Leon and Wesker. A male subordinate attempted to get the Executive's DNA, but disappeared in the process. He was killed for wanting to know the truth and was replaced by a woman who also knew nothing about her boss. At the end of the story, the main character survives even after the most difficult challenge and is contacted by this mysterious Executive and told that he has plans for 3A-7. The main character is voiced by D.C. Douglas, just like the Executive, whose voice can be heard in co-op mode at the end of the missions.
His phrases: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pe7LEaA7em8
Albert Wesker is also voiced by Douglas. So why would Capcom take on such a recognizable voice? Why voice two characters at once with that voice? It can only make sense if the Executive turns out to be a suddenly alive Wesker. If you listen to his intonation, it's safe to say it's him, or his clone or twin brother.
We now know that Blue Umbrella are no longer the honest people they try to make themselves out to be in re7. In the "Not a Hero" DLC, Chris says he doesn't trust them. He has good intuition. It is in re7 that it is revealed that the Blue Umbrella are using Wesker's designs to create weapons effective against biological threats. Various firearms signed as "Albert W." are now being used by BSAA soldiers. Isn't that strange? No matter how good these weapons are, naming them after a bioterrorist and enemy of humanity is a strange move, isn't it? Someone secretly respects him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Chris's trust in the BSAA dwindles to the point where he creates his own small unit, the "Hound Wolf Squad". Once again, his intuition doesn't let him down. At the end of the re8 storyline, Chris discovers an unpleasant truth... The soldiers the BSAA sent into "village" to contain the Mold have turned out to be biological weapons. They are creatures completely indistinguishable from humans, and look just like Chris. They have his face.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But why? Why Chris?
To answer that question, we need to go back to the Umbrella Corps storyline.
The mercenaries in the Corps have been collecting bioweapons samples for the mysterious Executive with Wesker's voice. The Corps is owned by Blue Umbrella, who cooperate with the BSAA and supply them with their weapons and medical supplies. It's safe to say that the Corps is also cooperating with the BSAA. These three organizations have created a new bioweapon indistinguishable from a normal human being using Chris' DNA. Hero DNA.
Why would the Executive want a bioweapon with Chris's appearance? Chris to Wesker has always been someone he considered his equal. Chris is "one of his best men." Who else but him would have thought of that? Who else besides him will speak in the voice of Douglas and hide from people? All of these details blatantly hint that Wesker is alive and involved.
Another interesting detail that also hints that Wesker is alive. Yes, it's my old theory. In re8 on the Heisenberg board this photo can be found. I originally thought it was his own photo, however why would he want his own photo on his own information board? The person in the photo is clearly older and has different facial features.
Tumblr media
The red line from this photo leads to Chris. Heisenberg sees a connection between the two men, but who is this mysterious old man?
Tumblr media
It's Wesker.
I'm 98% sure of it. Look closely at the points of interest: facial features, the shape of the nose, the distance from the nose to the mouth, the shape of the face, and the shape of the chin. Heisenberg knows from somewhere that Wesker is alive. But judging by the insignificance of this photo on the board, he doesn't think it's true or anything important.
Tumblr media
Putting all this information together, we get a picture of a possible re9 plot:
Wesker is again the antagonist\anti-villain, but perhaps not the main one. He operates from the shadows, running Umbrella Corps. He's obsessed with Chris and hides his existence from everyone, killing those who try to figure out his identity. Perhaps in the plot, Chris will meet an unnamed 3A-7 who is connected to the conspiracy between Blue Umbrella and BSAA. A major upheaval of all these organizations is coming and unexpected secrets will be revealed. Perhaps Ada Wong will be involved, as her concept is in re8 and the idea could still be realized. Wesker must have become very weak after the events of re5, or something happened to his body, which is why he can no longer maintain his standard image and his hair grows a lot. The plot will not be tied to defeating him, because he is not the main evil in this story.
Tumblr media
If BSAA has a big conflict brewing, then Jill will be affected. She could team up with Chris again, or she could get her own unique storyline (or DLC). Also, I think Claire might help her brother in some way by using TerraSave's resources, because that organization fights for human rights and in this case, Chris' rights were violated when his DNA was stolen. Looking back at this picture of the story, I'm starting to believe the rumors that the game will get very large scale and maybe even get an open world.
Tumblr media
However, all of this can be forgotten and discarded at Capcom's will. As logical as my re9 story picture looks, the writers may do something completely different that will surprise us all. Would I be upset if they scrapped such a logical and cool plot? A little bit. I'll be interested in playing and seeing what OTHER plot they come up with. I'll still be interested in what Capcom will try to surprise us with. Re9 is definitely a very important game for the whole story, because a lot of things will be dotted here. And even if they end up scrapping the idea of a living Wesker, it won't make re9 a bad game in my eyes. I will love these theories and the various AU's with alive Wesker even after the release of this game.
If you're wondering how Wesker survived in volcano, then I suggest you read my theory, in which I delved into this issue so much that I figured out the melting point of his clothes. It's here. Also in this theory there is a detailed analysis of the bioweapon-Chris, possible ways to understand the plot of Umbrella Corps and etc.
Thanks for reading!

When Capcom sat down to write RE4make and Separate Ways, they had to have a moment of reckoning when it came to Ada's character:
Do they continue to write out her romance with Leon, or
Do they commit to her role as an ambiguous third party agent keeping her fingers in all of the pies?
They chose the latter. They chose the latter because it was more important, narratively. And they couldn't have both, because having both doesn't make any fucking sense and never has made any fucking sense.
Ada is a selfish character, at her core. To have her constantly be soft for Leon undermines that selfishness and makes her other actions not make any sense; if she cared that much about him, why would she continuously serve the bad guys that make his life a living hell? And the reverse is also true. Why would she care so much about Leon if all he does is get in her way and act as a distraction for her?
So anyone who complains that RE4make's Separate Ways didn't show Ada caring enough about Leon -- that was the point. They solidified her identity as a character by doing that.
The writers of the Remake series made a conscious decision to make Leon and Ada's interactions/relationship in RE2make serve an actual function/purpose for their characters instead of "uwu they're in love."
For Leon -- Ada taught him that the people opposed to him aren't always bad guys. She taught him the true lesson of "the road to Hell is paved with good intentions." He learned to trust that little voice in the back of his head that tells him "something's not right here." She also taught him that there's a way to do the right thing without following the rules -- and, sometimes, by breaking them entirely.
For Ada -- Leon taught her that being independent doesn't mean self-isolating -- because just looking out for herself and no one else actually resulted in her just keeping her head down and not asking questions, which screwed her over big time in the end. Leon didn't teach her love or compassion or empathy; he showed her that she was actually being just as naive as he was, just on the other side of the fight.
Basically, they both taught each other: QUESTION EVERYTHING. Because that was the one thing that neither of them did in RE2make until it was way, way too late.
And so, in RE4make/Separate Ways, Ada spends far less time and emotional energy worrying about Leon because she's actually taking the lesson he taught her to heart and she's questioning the people and circumstances around her in order to protect herself. That was the point of her early voiceover about how Raccoon City changed her perspective and made her start asking where her efforts were going and why she was doing what she was sent to do.
She doesn't ask questions for moral reasons. She asks them for selfish ones. Because Ada is an inherently selfish character.
On the boat, Leon asks Ada: "Are you just trying to use me again?" and Separate Ways answers and repeats over and over and over again: YES. The only reason she helps Leon in the village and at Mendez's house is so that he can continue being useful for her. Because Leon didn't teach her to care about people; Leon only taught her how to better take care of herself -- the same way she did for him.
This is a really damning exchange of words:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
So, yes -- Ada is using Leon in RE4make. Yes, she only helps him because it benefits her. No, she genuinely doesn't care whether he lives or dies. Yes, she meant it when she told Leon to leave Ashley for dead, and yes, her sole reason for doing it was to get Ashley out of the way because Ada found Leon's new demeanor hot and she wanted to fuck him. No, she had no intention of taking Ashley with them on the chopper at the end -- because yes, her invitation to Leon was a bookend to her earlier offer for Leon to leave Ashley and go fuck her (Ada) instead.
And that's why Leon tells her to go fuck herself and shakes his head in utter disbelief when she asks if he's coming with her.
Because Ada is a selfish character.
I don't say this to hate on the character or even express dislike for her. This doesn't make her a bad character -- in fact, the opposite is true. It makes her consistent, which makes her a better written character overall from what/who she was in OG.
It also doesn't make her evil or a bad guy. Ada Wong is the most Chaotic Neutral character in the entire RE series -- even moreso than Billy Coen or Jake Muller ever were. She's in it for herself, and that particular approach is neither inherently morally good nor evil.
But Aeon is dead canonically in the Remake-verse. It was sacrificed in the name of bringing consistency and logic to both characters.
And that was the true point of the boat scene.
Neither of them have changed who they are at their most fundamental level. Leon is still the selfless hero, and Ada is still the selfish spy. Their relationship in RE2make served as a strengthening of those core traits -- not an erosion of them. Leon can better protect and save Ashley because of the lessons that Ada taught him, and Ada can successfully outmaneuver Wesker because of the lessons that Leon taught her.
But that doesn't change who she is. It doesn't change who either of them are. In fact, it only served to create a more authentic version of them both. Leon is more zealous in his heroism, and Ada is more committed to her own self-preservation and naked about her selfish intentions.
The only people in RE4make who changed who they were were Luis and Krauser. Luis for the better, and Krauser for the worse. And they both paid for it with their lives.

I’m pretty new to Megaman, so I haven’t gone through all of the canon media yet but I am enjoying your comics so… what’s NOVAS, what’s up with, and why is it bad?
Aaah, Novas Aventuras de Megaman....
Novas was a licensed Brazilian Mega Man comic book developed by Estúdio PPA and published by Editora Magnum in the 90s. It's well-known for being... bad. The kindest words I can use to describe Novas is "edgy" and "unprofessional."
I'm interpreting this quesion to be not just "what is Novas" but also "WHY is Novas" so I did a little bit of research to get you a full answer, and not just my horrified reaction to it.
The book was published not long after the Ruby Spears cartoon. Apparently the book's early writer and editor, José Roberto Pereira and Sérgio Peixoto had been in touch with Character Toy Trade, who licensed Capcom products to Brazil. Upon hearing of the Ruby Spears release, Pereira and Peixoto pitched a comic to Editora Magnum.
Apparently, they wanted to do this so badly that, to convince Magnum's execs to enter a publishing deal, they offered to work... for free, earning nothing for the first ten or twelve issues.
While it's not unusual for a comic run to use multiple artists and contain varying art styles throughout, most of THIS title was drawn using unpaid labor from fans solicited through the magazigne it was published in, Animax, and it shows. Readers were prompted to submit their art tests to the publishers, and out of those the best of the lot was selected. To participate, the candidate had to send 6 pages of comics, 2 in pencil, two finished art and two colored. Contributing artists were compensated with a copy of the published issue to use in their portfolio. Quite literally working on spec for exposure.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Most of it is, simply put, not the quality you expect from a publisher. Fair is fair, though, and I would be remiss not to aknowledge that some of these artists went on to be very well-respected comic artists, such as Daniel HDR (who did MM2 and 16, and has now worked for Marvel, DC, Dynamite Ent. and Image Comics, was the winner of DRAGON AWARDS 2020 - BEST GRAPHIC NOVEL for Battlestar Galactica: Counterstrike, and is the CEO of Dínamo Estúdio art School in Brazil) and Érica Awano (who got her start with MM4, and now known for her works related to the Tormenta universe and has recieved the Troféu HQ Mix).
The art... is the least of their issues, though. I've read plenty of webcomics where the art began, let's say, amaturish, but the story and writing more than made up for it. I can't say the same is true for Novas.
It's baffling that Pereira and Peixoto fought to have this book, given neither of them appeared to give a single shit about the source material. My understanding is manga and anime was very popular in Brazil at the time. I'd call it a cashgrab, but they weren't paid for most of it. Editor-in-chief Sérgio Peixoto admitted neither he nor Pereira had ever played a Mega Man game before and all they knew about the story was some information they got from someone who played the games. Further more, despite the first two issues including promotional art from Ruby Spears and official art from the games, including a large centerfold poster that remained for two additional issues, Pereira believed Ruby Spears was "very bad." He didn't think much of the games' plot either, what little he knew of it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Pereira's distaste for American media and adaptations is painfully obvious within the text of Novas, which takes the time to address the audiance to soapbox about imported media. This is, in part, done in a self-depricating sort of way, but seems to be the driving force behind the decision to even make Novas. Peixoto admits Character offered them "the original Megaman manga" (the Shigeto Ikehara "Rockman" manga, I believe) but he turned it down to do a Brazilian-made book. They wanted Megaman to be drawn by Brazilians and in the manga style - very fixated on being a "manga" rather than a "comic." Despite apparently knowing the product is low-quality, Peixoto appears to be proud to have "made 16 editions of the first manga magazine created entirely in Brazil, using a world-famous character."
I suppose that's the tipping point - "a world-famous character." No care for Megaman, no, but care that he's famous. Pereira apparently had every intention to have his own OCs take over the book after Megaman got readers in the door - apparently intending to kill off the megaman characters in graphic ways - but he left the project after #5, citing that he couldn't actually write his "own" story and... well, lack of payment. Peixoto wrote number 6, and Orlando Tosetto Jr. was brought on to do 7-16.
The desire to provide opportunities for local writers and artists is admirable... in theory... but... hardly anyone got paid and it's not exactly a book I would be proud to have my name on.
But enough about Novas' unpaid labor, quesionable motivations, and poor research. The writing is just... bad.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The plot is all over the place. There are so many dropped plot threads, tone shifts, continuity issues, and retcons in only 16 issues, it'll make your head spin. It reads like a 15-year-old boy made a megaman comic because he thought there should be more swearing and naked girls.
Tumblr media
The least of the writing's issues stem from the fact that they barely knew the plot, so character backstories, personalities, relationships, etc. are all over the place. Forte/Bass is named "Slasher" and he takes on a Protoman-type role as a Light bot and sibling, while Protoman is implied to be this mysterious mastermind-type character pulling strings behind the scene, Roll used to be human and is super special for some reason, Rock's an asshole, and X is a horny whiney pissbaby asshole...
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It's crude.
Tumblr media
It's bloody.
Tumblr media
It's horny.
Tumblr media
Sometimes downright disgusting.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And one can't ignore the incest.
There are... MUCH more egregious panels, I'm trying to keep it tame. There's a LOT of pointless nudity, including a scene near the end where they're kidnapped and tied up but only the women are stripped naked... for no discernable reason, I can't even say it's because their kidnappers are being disgusting, because they're not, even X is behaving himself for once.
I'd love to say the incest was an accident, but it's not, they actively call each other brother and sister.
Occationally the comic veers into dark topics, but the ever shifting tone and oversexualization makes it hard to tell how I - the reader - am supposed to feel about it. While I'm busy being horrified, I can't help worrying someone's getting off on child abuse and murder.
Maybe this kind of misogynistic gross-out shock-value was funny at the time. I've seen a few people remark on this comic's run fondly, saying they liked it when it came out. I can't imagine ever thinking it was good.
If anyone would like to know more about Novas without subjecting themselves to reading it, Mechanical Maniacs does their best to summarize.

Saw ur tags abt endgame krisnix and I'm 👀 curious. Cuz personally I'm a huge fan of their divorced vibes n the way they Cant work out, so I'm So curious as to what endgame krisnix would look like to you
hello and thanks for your ask! before i answer it, i am going to lay down three (3) disclaimers that might end up being longer than my answer itself.
1. i exist in the shipping multiverse, where any number of ships could work out or not work out in my mind depending on the conditions. i have very few "endgame" ships (fradrian and gumworth pan out in most of my universes), and the rest of the ships i like live in some schrödinger's state of existence for me.
2. i love to play with possibilities. exploring possibilities is the real fun of fandom for me - that's what makes fandoms transformative! the ace attorney canon is also so goofy and impossible that i love to think of what conditions could make a ship happen while still technically not contradicting canon.
3. i am, above all else, a playful contrarian. i started this blog because i'd have several people tell me that only one ship, a certain very popular one, had any chance of being "endgame." to which my lightly salty response was to make a blog called "krisnix prison wedding."
now that we've got those out of the way, here are my thoughts on endgame krisnix:
how it happens
- all of my long game kristoph ships take advantage of the fact that kristoph is never mentioned again after aa4. they threw him in the basement so i'm dragging him right back out again while capcom doesn't even notice 😂
- all of my long game kristoph ships take advantage of the fact that miles edgeworth has canonically pulled the strings of the justice system before in the service of people he knows and cares about. i'd argue that if klavier went to his boss and begged him not to have the state execute his only apparent living relative, edgey would find a way to commute his sentence. (bonus points if phoenix and edgey are in a relationship, and phoenix also begs edgeworth for clemency despite what kristoph has done)
why it happens
- you bring up a good point about kristoph and phoenix having divorced energy. think how much more potential for married-divorced energy there is if after all the insanity of the 7YG and aa4, kristoph and phoenix are still addicted to each other and, more importantly, still attracted to each other.
- midnightbrightside once tweeted something to the effect that kristoph and phoenix knew each other on both an intimate and mundane level over 7 years, and so they actually probably know more about each other than phoenix and edgeworth do bc of the amount of time they spent together. there is a force of habit but also a comfort and familiarity of having someone be present and stable in your life for that long. phoenix is a chronic attachment issues girlie and while i know he wanted to see kristoph punished for his actions, i'd be surprised if he wanted him out of his life permanently. kristoph would DEFINITELY take much longer to come around after his pride was shattered, but phoenix is patient and kristoph can't fully resist someone who gives him attention
what it looks like (partially a joke, but i'm not saying which parts)
- prison date visits with phoenix's sweetheart, much to the chagrin of literally every other AA character. apollo punches phoenix's lights out when he finds out that phoenix is back together with the guy who phoenix manipulated him into imprisoning
- kristoph showing progress in court-ordered therapy by gritting his teeth and saying to phoenix, "it is hard for me to admit when i feel vulnerable." he looks furious, but one of the black psyche locks breaks and that's good enough for phoenix
- house arrest anklet is the perfect accessory for date night!
- later, when the wounds have healed, they can laugh and banter about it! it makes everyone uncomfortable at parties when they tease each other about all the heinous and unethical shit they pulled to take each other down!
a final, more heartfelt note
idk, i like to think of how characters can grow and transform! kristoph is so interesting and tragic to me because he doesn't seem to know how to experience intimacy outside of his weird games. he wants to be close to people, but he doesn't know how and his paranoia won't allow him to. phoenix seems to struggle with the same thing minus the control and manipulation issues. i like to think about what post aa4 growth and closure would look like for them in a series that refuses to give it to us.
thanks again for the ask!

THERIOCTANE #2: An Introduction to Mega Man: Battle & Chase
In the wake of Mario Kart World and Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, I felt it only right to reintroduce people to Capcom’s entry in kart racing games, Mega Man: Battle & Chase.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Histories & General Mechanics
Released in Japan on March 20, 1997 and in the PAL region on April 3, 1998 for PlayStation, Mega Man: Battle & Chase is a kart racing game of the likes of Mario Kart with an emphasis on combat. Its core mechanic allows the player, after winning a race, to choose a car part from an enemy competitor as a prize and upgrade their own.
As far as the story goes, the game takes its name from a new hit show called Battle & Chase. An extreme racing show, the winning champion gets off with the hefty sum of 10 million Zenny (the fictional currency used in Capcom games). Soon, word reaches out and many robots decide to enter. When word reaches Mega Man, he decides to enter to use the prize money to fix Dr. Light's computer, which had broken down after a thunderstorm. As the tournament closes, Dr. Wily appears and steals the prize money for his own evil purposes, and the player must race against Bass (when not playing with him) and Wily to recover it.
Tumblr media
Capcom wanted to release the game in North America in the month following the Japanese release as per the advertisement above, but this plan never materialized due to market saturation of similar games. In the end, it was finally released in North America in 2006 as part of the Megaman X Collection.
Despite this and being quite the odd duck in Megaman games, Battle & Chase gave way to two comic adaptions, the first being the Rockman: Battle & Chase (Rockman: Grand Prix) manhua by Wu Yang, published in 1999 (which you can read for free here on tumblr!), and the "Burning Wheel" story in Megaman Gigamix by Hitoshi Ariga, published in 2009.
The Rockman: Grand Prix manhua ups the stakes a bit with the prize, along the 10 million Zenny, being a meteorite containing the strongest alloy in the universe, and "Burning Wheel"... by planting a bomb in Roll's car and partner, (Pop'n) Beat. Ouch.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Body and Engine, Wing and Tires
Of course, given the soapbox where I’m speaking from, I think the most noticeable thing about it, without even turning on the console, is the design of the racing cars.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Perhaps the best representation of what Therioctane stands for, you’d think that disembodying a head and sticking it in front of a car would look weird at best and downright bad at worse, yet illustrators Shinsuke Komaki and Hideki Ishikawa excelled with these.
It's no wonder then why the theriocephalic cars (not only, but there are four of those on a roster of twelve and three out of the four are passably so the most most popular characters) were the ones to get made into toys:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
[Pictured: A 1:24 scale remote control Rush Roadstar, complete with cones, batteries, ramps, and plastic cards on which to put enemy stickers. Nikko also offered Proto Man and his car, the Red Striker.]
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
[Pictured: ロックマンチェイサーズ, or Rockman Chasers, miniature toys sold with candy. They came in solid colors, and seems like some painting was required. And you could even reassemble them like you would in-game. Fun!]
Tumblr media Tumblr media
[Pictured: Unreleased Jazware pullback toys. Real shame. I would have bought the "Bass Racer" in a heartbeat.]
I’m impressed they didn’t make an animated series or at least an OVA of this! Where it might have flopped a bit due to the oversaturation of of mascot-themed racing games in the video game market, it might have offered a nice, albeit niche racing anime...
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
With the tides of time and the fickle nature of human memory, I sadly don’t remember how I discovered Battle & Chase. A stray Google search? Vroomiz led me to it in spirit? Shall we ever know? I think we shall never know...

Alright, MH Wilds Title Update One news is in an hour and I wanted to write down my predictions so I could either be completely laughed out of the room or be incredibly vindicated. So, without further ado:
Packs of Mizutsune. It's already confirmed in lore that in previous games, the Mizus we hunt are actually just bull males, and that the females gather in groups and are generally not a problem. MH Wilds' pack mechanic could give life to this lore in a really cool way. It would also give Mizu the edge needed to compete in difficulty with the other T3 monsters, as imho Mizu is about a Rathalos tier monster, not Apex tier and certainly not Arkveld or Gore tier. In addition, there really aren't that many monsters using the pack mechanic, so another high tier pack monster would be a good pick. (Is it really just Dosh, Hirabami, and Kut-Ku?)
Guardian Mizutsune. There are no water element Guardians, so it would make sense to add in GMizu to create water element explosions of wylk crystals. There's also no Ice element guardians either, so keep that in mind for future updates.
A new Gathering Hub and Personal Room in Suja. I'm not sure if you've heard, but this has already been confirmed. I picked Suja as the location as there's several areas not accessible there.
A new mechanic to Bubbly Dance, the unique armor skill present on Mizu armor. Considering how impactful the armor skills have been in wilds, I think Bubbly Dance might need a bit of a boost to compete. Maybe something like what Guardian Ebony does to Burst, but for Adrenaline Rush instead?
High Rank Zoh Shia. It's absolutely criminal that we can't fight that abomination more than once without multiplayer shenanigans. I do have a feeling that HR Zoh might be saved for a later, more difficult title update though.
This one's a long shot: Violet Mizu. You can't tell me that Violet would not make sense in the Oilwell Basin. This one also might have to be saved for a future update, though.
Guardian Ebony Odogaron vs. Guardian Rathalos Turf War. This animation already exists in Iceborne, why isn't it in Wilds? Cmon Capcom I know you love copy pasting turf wars.
Mizutsune vs. Uth Duna turf war. Phat Leviathan vs. Graceful Leviathan. It'd be so cool, and also make sense lorewise considering Mizu and Uth Duna are both piscivores. Also just generally more Mizutsune turf wars.
And, finally: A secret invader monster, not revealed by the trailer or the showcase. Cmon Capcom I want to be completely destroyed by a random giant monster wandering into my hunts again. I'll take any of the invasive trio.
I'm also retracting my Gammoth prediction from before Wilds released. While the Iceshard Cliffs is indeed home to Jhin Dahaad, he's very restricted on where he can show up and is more of a environmental hazard when he's not on his unique arena map. The Cliffs are also very vertical and have several rather cramped rooms, which would make fighting the gargantuan mammoth a complete pain. Sorry Gammoth, you're waiting till the expansion adds a new ice map.
EDIT: 3/10 confirmed, though more might become true when the update drops. Glad I called the Mizu vs Duna turf war tho

alright, I'm going to rant, because a very persistent myth really annoys me
the Zelda timeline DOES exist
most of the games were made to be prequels or sequels
AoL is a very obvious sequel, it's meant to be the same Link, he got two of the pieces of the triforce, and he then goes off to collect it
ALttP was meant to show Hyrule before the decline we hear about in LoZ
Link's Awakening seems to be a sequel to ALttP, as you fight the memory of Aghanim, and already know a Zelda
OoT was meant to be a prequel to ALttP based on the prologue (it doesn't perfectly line up or anything, there were retcons, but I'm not denying retcons), it also shows us a world with Hylians, which ALttP isn't, in ALttP the Hylians are considered long gone, the people of that time just being called humans who are descended of Hylians, essentially showing us a more magical time, a mythical time in a sense
MM is a direct sequel to OoT
the Oracle games are more fuzzy, they seem to be a prequel to LA based on a few details, though they don't work perfectly as a sequel to ALttP, it's not super hard to rectify, by just saying "there's more than one Zelda" hardly the first example of it, still a bit odd, but I do think this was caused perhaps by poor communication, and Capcom wanting to make a prequel, without realizing LA was already a sequel? If so, obviously a mistake here, but I don't deny that there are mistakes
FS was stated by Eiji Aonuma to be the earliest game at that time, I never played this game, and I think the story is barely there, so, I assume they did this, purely because the main villain isn't Ganon?
WW, obvious direct sequel, the prologue tells you the story of OoT, obviously adult timeline seeing as it mentions the hero of time disappearing
FSA, this is a fuck up, this was in my opinion definitely written to be a direct sequel to Four Swords, but there are a few issues with that, so they moved it, one of the only examples of the timeline changing since the start of the timeline
MC was once again meant to be the earliest game, takes place before FS since you literally make the four sword and learn Vaati's origin
TP, once again just a direct sequel, Ganondorf is sentenced to death for the crimes that Link revealed when he returned from the future, this Link is also very heavily implied to be a direct descendant of OoT Link hence why he already has the triforce of courage, it passed down through blood, which does seem to be something it can do.
PH, you literally play as WW Link
ST, you play in New Hyrule many years after PH
SS, the new earliest game in the series, meant to explain why it's so so cyclical, obvious prequel to everything that came before
ALBW, obvious sequel to ALTTP
TFH, not much story really, so they just put after the game with pretty much the same art style, I also think Link is implied to already be a hero, so, presumably, yeah, this is the same Link after he saves Hyrule
BoTW and ToTK are meant to take place far in the future, and still don't have an accepted timeline placement, so I will not touch on that
but my point is simply, a Zelda timeline has existed since AoL
is it perfect? Fuck no
is it messy sometimes? Yes
are there sometimes retcons? Yeah
is it meaningless and entirely post hoc? No, not at all
you don't need to like it, that's perfectly fine, but so many people act superior for ignoring the blatant truth that, yes, these games fit together
they can all be enjoyed separately, but, they do fit together, and some people like that, and that's fine.

BIG Thought Dump on SF6 BISON, Shadaloo, and Gratuitous Amount of F.A.N.G
I actually plowed through the Bison stuff when he dropped. I wrote a few of my thoughts on Twitter X, but I’ll dump everything here on this post. Warning, it’s really really big and the end may have some speculative spoilers (font will be red as a warning). Here it goes.
Playing Bison
I’m no pro player, in fact I’m super casual, but Bison is hella strong! I didn’t look through all his command list because I just want to plow through arcade and World tour for the story. All I know is Psycho Crusher, Scissor Kick (turned motion instead of charge), and Head Stomp from previous games, so I just stuck to those lol.
Arcade Mode and Fighting Ground
Ok now for the story. The first thing I did when Bison dropped was Arcade mode and was automatically hit with some fan service in the beginning. Naked Bison. Capcom knew what they’re doing here lol. There were some guys making jibes at him and then he beat the crap out of them and stole their clothes for himself. And then he went on fighting other people he don’t remember through arcade mode. And then his boss rival is Juri. Ngl, I was super excited when I saw that. I was actually hoping to see this for a long time. In Juri’s SF6 arcade, the thought of her not having her revenge against Bison had been eating her up for years. She never moved on from that since SFV, so “probably” almost a decade had passed since then. Her seeing Bison again is her moment to have what she wanted. But it didn’t go her way. I can see why Juri fans didn’t like the outcome. For me it’s different. Yes, it would be nice if she got her revenge right there and then (as indicated with her win quote against Bison), or if she moved on from Bison after her fight with Chun-Li in her own arcade mode. But I have the feeling deep down she really wanted that revenge. Plus, she helped Neo Shadaloo’s efforts too, albeit for money reasons, and even said that she’ll take them down if they ever rise again. Now that Bison’s back, she’s no longer in the state of regret and now has all the chances to go against him and get what she truly wanted. She’s not aimless anymore. She has a real reason to fight now.
Tumblr media
As for win quotes, some were fun and some were boring. Of course I was most interested in A.K.I.’s. For sometime before Bison’s release, I was curious on how A.K.I. feels about him. Would she have a favorable view of Bison because F.A.N.G admires him greatly? Or would she be jealous of him because all of F.A.N.G’s attention will go to him instead of her? Lots of people and I have been wondering about this. Now the cat’s out of the bag, this is A.K.I.’s win quote against Bison:
“You must be the one the master’s talked so much about. I must send word to him immediately.”
This suggests that A.K.I.’s sentiments toward Bison is neutral, but she wants to report to FANG about it because she knows that Bison is important to him. I can’t help but compare this quote to her Rashid one:
“You… You’re the one the master spoke of.”
F.A.N.G talked a great deal to A.K.I. about these two, but of course his attitude for the both of them are different from one and the other. F.A.N.G admires Bison and hates Rashid.
World Tour Mode
For World Tour, we see that it takes place after Bison’s arcade mode because he took over the secret ruined Shadaloo lab after fighting Juri. I was already at Nayshall when I started World Tour and I automatically got a message from Foo aka F.A.N.G. Ahh yes, I knew I’d see F.A.N.G again for the Bison update 💜💜. He has to take part in it because this the man he wants to work for.
This time we work with F.A.N.G much more extensively than before. Yes, we see more of F.A.N.G in the Bison update than in the A.K.I. one (but there’s no FANG illustrations except for one in the Bison quests). He’s a lot more active and involved this time. And we get to see his soft side too. F.A.N.G actually likes seeing cute animal photos, especially with the cat and the baby hippo 💜💜. This reminds me of how A.K.I. reacted with the pufferfish and snake. Hmm, I wonder if that’s the reason why F.A.N.G didn’t mind A.K.I.’s super cute messages with the Lolita bunnies and kittens? Deep down, does he enjoy AKI’s letters because of those cute Sanrio-esque characters?? Idk, but I think it’s super cute. Ahhh 💜💜
We also get to see the scope of F.A.N.G’s influence and reach, especially as his persona as Foo. At first it seemed that he only has A.K.I. as his assistant, but later on in the Akuma and Bison update, we see that FANG has Experimental Subject Lee, Neo Shadaloo mole Hahn, Minox from the Colosseo, and former Doll Changpa. Out of these aside from A.K.I., Hahn and Doll Changpa seem to work the most extensively with F.A.N.G. Hahn knows F.A.N.G’s deal. 2 salutes. Answer messages within 2 minutes. 2 sugars in his coffee hehe. Doll Changpa elaborates further on how she ended up working with Foo aka F.A.N.G in this update than in the Akuma one. Basically, she had nowhere else to go. FANG needed intel on Shadaloo remnants. Doll Changpa needed a place to stay. So they work together because of that. To her, it’s purely transactional. She insists that it was her choice to work under FANG, but she did hesitated on the thought that she may have went back to her Shadaloo life, even by choice. It seems she had mixed feelings. Nevertheless, a job is a job.
Back to Bison. He went face to face with his own phantom Bison and absorbed it. He regained some memories from it, but not fully. It’s said that if Bison absorbs more psycho power, he would regain more of his memories. But even with 100 bond points and max mastery at level 20, Bison still doesn’t remember everything. As I suspected, Bison still has a way to go before he reaches his peak. But it’s not like he cares anyway lol. He’ll just continue on quenching on power.
We dont really get a clear answer on how Bison came back, but Bison heard from others that he’d often die and come back to life via spare bodies. He thought that’s how he managed to be alive in his current form, but that’s just his conjecture based on what others said about his past lives. F.A.N.G also had no clue on how Bison came back either, despite being the last person to have seen his “”demise,”” but he also questioned if this is in fact the “real” Bison (he is). According to the devs, Bison’s current body is actually the same one from SFV. The cracks and scars on his right side of his body came from Ryu’s final blow. So instead of disintegrating (his death was obscured by F.A.N.G and smoke in SFV), he lost his memories. Not sure if the game will reveal the truth of Bison’s “resurrection” in a later update tho.
Tumblr media
Although his memories are still fuzzy, Bison has a major hatred towards Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li, Cammy, and Guile lol. He doesn’t know them by name nor does he understand where the hatred comes from. He sent the avatar to talk to these fighters and they all remembered him with disdain. They all may have an idea where the avatar learned such fighting techniques, but it seems they didn’t want to press on. When the avatar reports back to Bison, Bison basically said he doesn’t care about them because he doesn’t truly remember them…but he’ll gladly fight and dominate them lol
Other people that Bison hate are obviously Ed, Falke, and Juri. They all undermine him. Bison also hates JP. Hmm, I wonder why? For the past couple of months, people were mulling over whether JP is for or against Bison. For me, it’s really hard to read JP’s intentions and plans because he tends to lie a lot, but I also think JP is not trying to win Bison’s approval. JP is not a Bison fanboy lol. Even his quote against Bison said that he is incomplete: “Hm. Peculiar. Perhaps you are not your whole self just yet.” What is JP’s plan then? JP is not actively involved in the Bison update for World Tour. But if you talk to Doll Changpa at the Suval'hal Arena in Nayshall at night, she found out that JP is still plotting to do something with Ed and the “imperfect” Bison. From the sounds of it, JP is still the main antagonist for SF6 as he seems to have a grandiose plan for the both of these characters. We’ll probably see it unfold in the next couple of patches.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Bison eventually remembers Vega and Balrog and sends the avatar to find them. F.A.N.G, as Foo the messenger, offers to help the avatar in finding them. Hmmm I wonder if F.A.N.G ever contacted them after the fall of Shadaloo since he knows their whereabouts and how to get their attention?
To get to Vega, the avatar has to fight Ignacio in the most “beautiful” way. In-game, basically win with a perfect KO.
Tumblr media
Seeing Ignacio, I was already curious about him. At first I thought he was Vega's son, but then the illustration scenes have him next to a very handsome butler with similar features, so I then thought that Ignacio might be a servant boy for Vega. I'd like to know how Vega gets to know these characters, and I'm wondering what their back stories are because they both have dark complexions and yellow cat eyes. I don’t know the butler’s gender, but I’m assuming male (looks very much like Sebastian from Black Butler). If it’s female, she would have worn a maid’s outfit instead. I know I shouldn’t assume and that characters can also present as gender-nonconforming, but most often times devs from Japan/Asia usually make their female characters “cute” or showing something that emphasizes their “femininity.” Very seldom do they actively make a female character have more “masculine” traits with their appearances. But then again, SF6 has been pushing the gender boundaries outside of the norm, especially with the avatar gear, the NPCs, and a few of their roster characters. That would be cool and it would be interesting if the butler is a woman.
Anyway, Kizer brought up something interesting and it led to some speculative conversations. On Ignacio’s brooch, there’s a Ken Masters Foundation.
Tumblr media
But when I looked at the avatar gear that can be purchased in the Battle Hub, the same tie brooch with the Masters’ logo can be found there. It could just be assorted avatar gear just to create these interesting NPCs. But at the same time, I’m still wondering if Ignacio and the butler were affiliated with Masters Foundation. That’s something to find out in a later DLC. And I hope the relationship between Vega, Ignacio, and the butler is a lot more kinder in-game than what’s been speculated in the conversation. Even I’m concerned lol.
We also get to see an illustrated cutscene with Balrog in it. He still keeps in touch with Ed and thought about joining his group. But, which ever organization has more money, he’ll go to it. Good ol’ Balrog 😂😂. I’m sure he’ll share the wealth with Ed tho!
Tumblr media
The only names Bison remembers are Balrog, Vega, and Sagat. But even then, he doesn’t really have the clearest memories of them either. In this illustration, all the Shadaloo officers were all wearing these curious uniforms. Bison mentioned about “brainwashing” them and they all worked for him. I didn’t think much of this scene at first except I got to see F.A.N.G on there. But a friend of mine said an interesting comment and I liked her interpretation more than anyone else’s. What the illustration depicted wasn’t an accurate memory. Because Bison’s memory is “foggy,” he actually meld the Kings, Officers, Dolls, and Soldiers into one conglomerate thing. I still believe the Kings and JP acted on their own accord. The only people that got brainwashed in the organization were the Dolls. As for the soldiers, I don’t know lol.
Bison really likes his horse, whose name is Rocinante, like the Don Quixote’s horse. Bison said the reason why he didn’t kill the avatar was because Rocinante took a liking to them. Bison came upon the horse in Mexico. He was on the brink of death and yet he hung on to life. Bison infused the horse with psycho power to give it strength to carry him. The scientist in the Ruined Lab said that most regular animals would run wild with psycho power and die. Rocinante lives and it has the strength to withstand it. Bison loves power, but he also respects any living thing with strength (and even better when they serve him). Learning about Rocinante’s story reminded of F.A.N.G’s first encounter with Bison in SFV. F.A.N.G and his former organization, the Nguuhao, were about to assassinate Bison, but Bison overpowered and killed nearly all of them except for one. Although losing, F.A.N.G stood his ground against Bison. Bison was impressed by F.A.N.G’s strength and will to live and offered him to join Shadaloo. After that, F.A.N.G worked his way up and became a Shadaloo King.
Unfortunately for F.A.N.G, Bison doesn’t remember him. At first it started off funny when he got flustered, but then I can feel the sincere heartbreak from his text. F.A.N.G became quiet and his tone turned solemn. Even though Bison’s return didn’t turn out the way he wanted, he still complimented the Avatar on a work well done, albeit in a bittersweet way. As subtle as it is, I don’t think I’ve seen this side of F.A.N.G before, not even from Toxicity. If anything, there’s many sides of FANG I never got to see before SF6. Yes, we saw him visibly upset when Bison “”died””in SFV, but it didn’t have the same poignancy that his message had.
Tumblr media
If Bison were to encounter A.K.I. (and win), the story outcome would probably go into a different direction. This is Bison’s win quote:
“You shall tell me who your master is. If they have value, I will gladly use them.”
This sounds like it would go into F.A.N.G’s favor as he would gladly serve his Lord Bison…except Bison does not remember him. Would F.A.N.G be happy to serve someone who may be considered as a “fake” or an “imperfect” Bison? Perhaps not, even though it is the real Bison with his marred SFV body. Throughout the Bison missions, F.A.N.G questioned his authenticity. He also mentioned that it was “too soon” for Bison to come back. Hmm, how does he know the duration of a “perfect” rebirth then? This makes me wonder if F.A.N.G had anything to do with the revival of Bison himself and left him until he’s ripe enough for the “rebirth,” and then Bison ended up “waking up” earlier than expected? I dunno, I’m just speculating on this and maybe more info would come out later lol. Also, maybe the devs knew ahead of time that some Street Fighter fans would groan at Bison coming into SF6 too early lol. I still see complaints about it lol.
Tumblr media
About Bison’s win quote against A.K.I., he refers her Master as “They,” because he doesn’t know the gender. I like that little detail. Also in the Japanese dialogue, Bison referred A.K.I.’s master as 先生, which is “sensei”and can be used for both men and women. But knowing A.K.I., she uses the word “xiansheng” (also spelled 先生 in Chinese), and that’s usually used for men. Basically, Bison said this to AKI:
"先生とは誰だ。
使える人間なら、使ってやろう。"
"Who is your xiansheng (teacher)?
If he is someone who can be used, I’ll use him."
As sad as it is that Bison doesn’t remember F.A.N.G, I think this is a good thing. If the Bison mission ended with him remembering F.A.N.G, then that could possibly be FANG’s happy ending and his story might’ve stopped there. But because that didn’t happen, it gives more reason for F.A.N.G’s story to continue in SF6. He can actually continue on fighting for what he strives for. F.A.N.G hasn’t given up yet and he said he would contact the avatar if he needs them.
Also, Only 1 unused FANG voice line was released for the Bison dlc. He said, “Oh my days!” in this one. There’s more voice clips that haven’t been used yet. If they haven’t dumped the rest of his audio in this update yet, I’d think more will drop in later DLC. Who knows how long F.A.N.G’s story will last in SF6 if they’re going to release one unused voice clip per update. If that’s the case, I hope they stretch F.A.N.G’s story for a looong time haha!

Tumblr media
youtube
Even though F.A.N.G didn’t get what he wanted after the Bison mission, he at least accomplished what he wanted to do since the Toxicity story: Reviving Shadaloo. He took part in it by having the avatar track down Bison. He then sent the avatar to the Ruined Shadaloo Lab with the assistance of Doll Changpa. The avatar had to fight using psycho power in order to power up the residual memory machine, which caught Bison’s attention and he absorbed it. When Bison gained some memories back, he told the avatar to find Vega and Balrog. F.A.N.G helped the avatar in this regard as he knew the former Shadaloo Kings’ locations and how to get in contact with them. That in turn had Vega and Balrog interested in working with Shadaloo again. So yes, it was F.A.N.G that drove the revival of Shadaloo.
This is something I mentioned a long time ago on another post, but just because FANG has an NPC model, that doesn’t mean he’s deconfirmed to come back playable. Throughout the entirety of World Tour, not a single character mentioned the name F.A.N.G at any point. A.K.I. never said it and neither did F.A.N.G himself. Even as his personas Foo and Fang Fei, he never said his actual (code) name. He’ll hint at it and skirt around it, but never outright saying nor spelling it. The avatar hasn’t even heard of the name F.A.N.G yet. Foo pretends he’s not a former Shadaloo King and Fang Fei feigns that he’s only a humble medicine man. His personas Foo and Fang Fei aren’t fighters. That means Fang Fei won’t be fightable. If that’s the case, that means there’s a chance that F.A.N.G can be playable at a much later point in SF6. It’s funny how it works. Other characters who have yet to make it to SF6 have their names mentioned but do not have 3D models. F.A.N.G is the opposite in which he has an in-game model, but his actual name was never revealed except in the official website, in-game credits, and JP mentioning it in A.K.I.’s arcade mode. But for now, it seems that NPC Foo/Fang Fei will remain as it’s hinted that he’ll be contacting the avatar again in a later update.
I just want to say I really love F.A.N.G’s portrayal in SF6 💜💜. Not only does he have a cool new look, but his personality is made to be more endearing, especially with the Bison update for World Tour.
I know FANG is still very evil, but I can tell the devs tried to make him more likable. They wrote TOXICITY that delve into his backstory, made the amazing AKI be his biggest fan, have him working with the avatar, and showed many sides of him that’s not often portrayed in SFV.
Also it’s good to know that my dream from nearly a year ago got one thing right: F.A.N.G being an important NPC and we see (and talk to) him a lot as shown in the Bison update. 💜🥹💜🥹
Tumblr media
Also, good on Capcom to release the Return of Shadaloo Battle Pass. If I see official F.A.N.G content, I’ll eat it up 💜😋💜😋.
FUTURE CHARACTER SPECULATIONS AND LEAKS. DO NOT READ IF YOU DON’T WANT POTENTIAL SPOILERS.
From what has happened in Bison’s World Tour Story, it’s hinted that Vega and Balrog would be DLC. I’ll tell you this. According to this leak here, Vega would surely come back. Yes, I remember people said it was fake…and then a few months later Bison and Elena became official DLC, and the leak’s description of them were accurate.
As for Balrog, it’s up in the air. I’m not saying he’s not gonna be playable in SF6, but i didn’t see his name from the above leak nor from this one (this actually mentioned Bison, Terry, Mai, and Elena as far back as April 26, 2024). But just because a character’s name is not on those lists, that doesn’t mean they’ll never be DLC. From what a Japanese fan told me, the devs want this game to have a long lifespan. Hopefully it would be longer than SFV’s so more characters would come in the future.
END OF SPOILER

RE4 Remake Thoughts
Two years after it's highly anticipated release, I have finally played RE4 Remake. The reason why it took me so long to get this game was because I did not own (or could afford) a PS5. However, I got one for Christmas and was able to sit down and enjoy the game. And wow, did it go beyond my expectations and more.
The remake expands so much upon the original game, with beautiful graphics, updated game playing mechanics, and better writing for characters (this being the biggest standout imo). No more standing still to reload or having to open the menu to switch weapons. Even little things like not being able to use the tower during the opening ambush were really neat. This game also had so many new areas such as Ashley's revised game play section that actually gave me some chills or the entertaining mine cart ride with Luis.
Major sections of the game were either revised or cut completely which I honestly didn't mind. Although, I do miss the U-3 fight simply because I had a very, very memorable experience (aka scary) time when I did it the first time. The Bella sisters popping out through the shack wall rather than the arena was another neat change imo. Overall, I had a great time exploring the changes to the game and admiring the updated graphics. Additionally, I love how Saddler would speak to Leon repeatedly even though he doesn't meet him until the end of the game (a huge change since you meet him near the beginning in the OG).
Enemy AI was challenging (particularly on the island) and provided a decent challenge to me. Having the red robed zealots chant "gloria a las plagas!" while the parasite mutates and the room distorts has to be my favorite addition to the enemies because it was something unexpected.
I had a few minor things I do love about the original that I'm sad we didn't get in the remake, but that doesn't take away from my experience at all. OG Leon will always have a special place in my heart since his dialogue is super goofy. OG Salazar is still my favorite, again it's because of the camp. Lastly, I found the OG Krauser fight in the ruins to be more heart pounding than the remake but that could be my fondness for it talking. Overall, the remake takes everything the OG did and takes a step forward. My nitpicks don't impact the quality of the game at all.
Where this game really excels for me is the characters because oh my gosh did the remake succeed. Early Capcom did not know how to write natural sounding dialogue (much to all of our amusements). Leon in the OG was a guy who knew he was in a video game because man quipped like every other line. He was goofy, campy, and took no one's nonsense. In the remake, Leon acts much more serious. He feels more realistic and acts like a guy who went through a traumatic situation. He still has his moments of campy dialogue but the delivery is much more "I'm done with this and want to go home" rather than "I am the main character and I know it" energy.
Remake Ashley is a major improvement over her OG counterpart. She actually feels like a real young adult in her 20s. Her OG version looked like a high schooler. Ashely in the remake is also far less annoying and I love the little added dialogue options for her. Really loved how she was written in the game. By the end of the game, you could feel the friendship between her and Leon. They were a team and Ashley became more confident as the game progressed.
Finally, Luis. They gave his man a whole freaking makeover, not just design choices, but personality too. I'm playing through the OG right now for comparison and Luis had only like 4 scenes in the whole game. Leon then proceeds to wail dramatically over his body. It was kinda silly looking ngl. The remake, however, makes Luis a complex, tragic man who wanted to make up for his mistakes. He is kind hearted at his core and does what he can to help Ashely and Leon. I loved all the banter between him and Leon as well as the lasting impact on the narrative he leaves. Luis' new backstory connects to other RE games in a brilliant way that adds to the overall story. To top it all off, his death scene is both tragic and well executed. He saved Leon from Krauser while fatally wounded. He dies leaving Leon a poignant question: "people can change, right?" It's a good theme of the overall game, especially since Leon sees change in both Luis and Krauser. In my opinion, Luis does in the end become like his hero Don Quixote. A knight is portrayed as a protector of innocence, defeating the bad guy. Luis did save both Ashely and Leon's lives multiple times. Without him, Leon and Ashely might've succumbed to Las Plagas. Luis was the standout character of this game 100%.
Overall, RE4 Remake was a fantastic, beautiful game that improved upon the OG in so many ways. I do want to play Separate Ways at some point because Ada is always a queen and I love her. Capcom struck gold with this remake and I hope they continue to do so with future games.

I spent all day in 1:6 scale heaven, sourcing as close as possible pieces for both the Piers build and Chris’ BSAA build. I’m taking a few liberties with the Piers build since I’m obviously making an older alive!Piers but basing it heavily on his Edonia/Capcom marketing image. I do intend to attempt some scarring on his face (I have some flesh-toned pencils) and will change the eye color (hoping a yellow sharpie won’t turn it brown and I can get a hazel-ish green tone) and while I won’t be able to get a kickass cybernetic/prosthetic arm for the body, I have figured out a good solution. Got him a sniper rifle too (as a treat) :3
I also painfully had to halfway break down STARS!Chris because I just could not handle that he was the same height (and/or slightly shorter) than DI!Leon so I just had to get those ankle extenders on that seamless body (do not ask me why I didn’t put them on in the first place - I do not know…) and I took boot camp Leon out of his fit and put him a modded RE4R look. Pretty much based on this:
Tumblr media
I’ll share him soon once his knife and a few other details arrive. And obviously, you will all continue to get updates on the other builds as I put them together.

Plotline idea for the remake of ‘Operation Javier’
What do we know about Operation Javier from the new canon?
They were a unit this time. And judging by the number of dog tags seen in-game, they were quite a bunch. I counted 24 dog tags on his desk! (no wonder he’s mad!)
They went through something harrowing in that jungle.
They were left to die, without honor, without mercy, only devastating power.
Personal remarks now :
As much as I saw many people analyze Leon’s look when he first sees Krauser—him going through confusions, realization, shock etc… I actually see something different. I see confusion and realization, yes, but I don’t see Leon’s surprise that Krauser’s alive. Which is even more demonstrated in his choice of words. He’s not surprised that Krauser's alive. He’s wondering what the hell’s he doing.
I’m sure that if anyone who would have thought someone was dead and suddenly sees them before their eyes would first say “You’re alive?” But there’s no such reaction from Leon like that. Not even a ‘What?!’ or ‘How?!’. He automatically says ‘why’.
From this new set of evidence, I decided that it would be fun to craft the new events of Darkside Chronicles - you know, while wondering if Capcom will do something about it. Or not. I entered this fandom through an insta-lock on Chreon before even knowing what Resident Evil's really about. But as I blow my 1 year candle into this fandom in august, I wanted to say that thanks to this slow interest I developed for Krauser and Metaltango that turned into a freefall infatuation in these last months, a remake of Operation Javier is the one official content I’m wishing for on the subject of RE.
So while we wait for that to happen or not, let’s see what we can come up with for the new version of the chronicles that happened in 2002, somewhere in South America…
***
A splinter cell inside the government with ties to Umbrella sets a trap to Krauser and his unit.
I was bound not to speak about what happened in Racoon City. But my Major Jack Krauser didn’t understand why someone like me was dropped onto his special training force on Presidential orders out of the blue. Regardless, the man took me under his wing and personally trained me. We grew close that way and that’s how I ended up telling him what happened to me that night.
Major Krauser tried to investigate my story. I don’t know how far he got but we never spoke about it again.
Krauser’s unit is sent to investigate and take down Javier’s cartel in South America. They quickly realize it’s more than just ‘people’ they had to deal with and no one’s prepared to face monsters of all shapes and forms and the mission quickly takes a wrong turn as it proceeds.
When learning that a high-ranked officer of the US military was fishing about and asking pesky questions, the deep state government that had ties and interests in the viral and BOWs traffic devised a trap to get rid of Krauser’s unit. We can come up with two reasons : First, they don’t want another S.TA.R.S disaster and another BOWs specially-trained unit interfering with business. Second, a high-ranked military officer sniffing about their business can quickly become bad news. That’s why these Umbrella and BOWs-affiliated government officials set up ‘Operation Javier’ to destroy Krauser and his whole unit. What they didn’t count on was that someone already familiar with BOWs is among that unit.
Krauser takes a unit of twenty four soldiers plus him and Leon. Two were sent prior to infiltrate and scope the village while the others advanced on the village from the jungle side. Through comms, they quickly understand that something wrong was going on there and make quick to join the two men in the village where they found it infested with zombies and BOWs. One of the two undercover soldiers succumbs to his wounds as they find Manuela in the church and the debacle with Manuela’s mother unfolds, only this times, it unfolds ten times the hardship (we’re in the remakes versions after all so everything’s bigger and nastier).
This first fight already results in casualties. Collecting themselves and coming to terms with what just happened, Krauser decides to take only one man for what’s coming next and chooses Leon. It doesn’t go well with some of the other men but Krauser is the leader and there was not enough space on the boat they had to take anyway. Before leaving, he tells them to regroup and wait for his signal to join him at Javier’s mansion once they locate it. Krauser has chosen Leon so that the latter can disclose everything he knew about BOWs and Umbrella - in detail this time. Leon does so on their boat ride just like in the OG and everything follows suit somewhat similarly.
Once they finally locate the mansion, Krauser sends the coordinates to his unit and that’s where shit hits the fan. The mansion is in the middle of the jungle and the battle quickly takes gargantuan proportions as Javier’s humongous form turns the fight into a shitshow of screams, explosions, kalash sprays, smoke and fire. Javier makes their chopper that joins the battle to help from the air crash around them.
But they beat Javier and receive the news that another chopper from base was heading their way. Krauser had lost a few men by now and while assessing the damage and tending to wounds they see the aircraft supposing to extract them open fire. The artillery gets unloaded on them in the most unforgiving way and the real bloodbath begins. The effect of surprise is what it takes to slaughter the soldiers as the first to fall are those that waved in relief. Soon, it’s another cacophony of shouts filled with anger and confusion that takes place. They try to communicate that they’re US army, that there’s no danger anymore, that they’re not compromised in any fashion, they try to reach out through radios but they get no response and no ceasefire. Krauser brings the plane down with a missile at last but the damage is done, and he, Leon and Manuela are the only one standing amidst the flames.
Krauser has to put the last man standing out of his misery and the dying soldier agonizingly tells him that this was all a trap - the intel was false from the beginning so they wouldn’t be prepared and fail, and when that didn’t happen, they finished the job themselves. They have been betrayed. Right then, Krauser slowly turns to glance at Leon.
Major Krauser threw me a glance through his alarmingly bleeding face that froze me to the core. It was like I was suddenly… a stranger. And with that a new kind of fear unlike anything I felt before gripped me.I only hoped he could see in my eyes that I didn’t know anything.
This time around, Krauser, Leon and Manuela leave on a truck until they find another village where they mend their injuries. There, they manage to reach new contacts that come fetch them.
In that hospital room, we looked like we just dug ourselves out of the deepest pits of hell with our bare hands. Major Krauser looked like a haunted shadow of himself. His face—his face hurt to watch. And he suffered that atrocious injury trying to save one of his men from Javier’s claws.
“When that helicopter comes, I won’t be getting in it with you.”
“What do you mean?”
Krauser’s explanation made sense as much as I hated every second of it. This operation was a disaster lined with too many casualties to be left alone. Whoever sent us on a suicide mission and opened fire on us didn’t want us to come back. The anger that boiled inside of Major Krauser at this fact was only placated by the realization that what happened was bigger than anything else. Bigger than ranks or careers or egos or feelings of discard. He needed answers. He needed the truth. And admittingly or not, revenge. He didn’t care for anything else anymore - not when the fist clenching around the bundle of dog tags was still dripping blood. What about me? Shouldn’t I disappear just as well? After all, I knew what they were capable of when taking care of the last survivors of a governmental fuck up. Krauser told me I should petition the President and Benford to investigate what happened to us. That if this didn’t go that higher up, I’d be protected given my particular status. What I read between the lines was that any type of echo about this mission in the White House or the Hill will help Krauser pluck out the perpetrators. He counted on me to let it be known. And to let it be known that I was the sole survivor. Again.
It was also my duty to take care of Manuela. Given her mutated status and ailment, I had no other choice but to trust her in the protection of governmental professionals. She’d be about the same age as Sherry. Maybe they could become friends…
“Promise me you’ll be in touch. No matter what happens.”
Despite the gauze, the bandages and the stitches surrounding half his face, Krauser graced me with one final, albeit tired smirk and said “Can’t wait to see what you become, Rookie.”
After this, Krauser disappears, Manuela is taken by the government and Leon is placed on furlough by his handlers as they refuse to send him back to any military corps.
Jack went looking for Wesker and Leon ended up cleaning after the government through the DSO, both of them unknowingly working for the same corrupt people that betrayed them on that fateful day.

I know you said you’re not interested in the DMC anime, but what do you think of the theory that it’s Nero posing as Dante in the anime since Johnny Yong Bosch is voicing this Dante?
Tbh I think that may be the case. Couple of things to point out:
- There’s enough vagueness/gaps/retcon/general messiness in the DMC timeline that this kind of plot could easily be slipped in with little issue. (Especially post-DMC5 — when Nero would have two normal arms and every reason to try and fully impersonate Dante). Also, ‘Nero impersonating Dante’ fits right into the whole ‘Character X who looks like and/or is associated with Character Y is currently masquerading as Mysterious New Character Z’ thing that the series likes to do pretty often lol.
- Netflix Dante’s hair is very close Nero’s DMC4 hair down to the 2000’s side flips. It’s way closer than DMC4 Dante’s straight shag or pre-nap Dante’s shorter hair in DMC5. Could be wrong and it’s simply just the difference when you translate a character from a 3D game model to a 2D animation, but it’s so close it’s hard not to notice:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
- The shirt under the jacket that’s close but a not perfect copy of Dante’s DMC3 coat. Again, could just be artistic changes when switching from one medium to another, but it does make a lot of sense for an impersonator who was raised in a religious cult to be a little more modest. (Also, like father like son lol.)
- Langdon played Dante in the anime under a pseudonym; he’s capable of doing it again. He doesn’t seem to be on anything close to bad terms with Capcom by any accounts, no matter what stupid shit he says online he’s not actually affecting Capcom’s bottom line. He’s also fully in support of Johnny Yong Bosch and they’re friendly with each other. Picking the actor of another major character in the series to play Dante (and then said actor acting fairly cheeky about why he’s playing Dante on social media and saying things like “he was chosen for a reason” and “the reason has nothing to do with politics” to boot), is a pretty risky choice if you’re not going for a Nero impersonation angle. DMC5 is almost five and a half years old at this point — the “DMC IS BACK BABYYYYY” euphoria isn’t going work as a shield for slop.
While this does make a lot of sense, if it is not the case (and it very well may not be), keep in mind that JYB is the far more accomplished voice actor with bigger titles under his belt, especially for anime — so he’s talented and you get the (potential) bonus of having a familiar voice from the games. On top of that, the Netflix series director has also stated that he wants to do his own thing separate from the games, so that could mean a completely different story that doesn’t fit into the canon story of the games at all (but may take elements from the established canon) just as easily as it could mean an original story that does fit into the established canon but isn’t covered in the games at all.
That’s just my two cents tho, take all of it with a grain of salt.

PROPAGANDA
ATHENA CYKES (ACE ATTORNEY)
1.) Despite supposedly being the MAIN CHARACTER of the game she was introduced in, she somehow still always ends up playing second fiddle to Phoenix and Apollo, to the point where she isn't allowed to take the lead on even so much as a single case. Instead of the senior lawyers standing to the side in a mentorship role like they do for literally EVERY OTHER PLAYABLE CHARACTER, Phoenix and Apollo keep stepping in to outright take over for her. She literally does not make it through even a single case without needing some male character or other to swoop in and hold her hand every step of the way, not only Phoenix and Apollo but once even Blackquill, her rival prosecutor, as well.
Why? It has nothing whatsoever to do with her competence level. It's a video game; her competence is determined by the player's, just like everybody else. It seems like the writers just couldn't STAND the thought of her doing anything on her own, or thought that the players would walk out en masse if it wasn't the Phoenix and Apollo Show every second of gameplay. (And yeah, it DOES sometimes take me some time to warm up to new characters, but that was the case for Apollo too! At least give me the CHANCE to judge her on her own merits rather than assuming that I'll immediately write her off!) Like, why did you even WRITE this character if you think so little of her?
2.) WHERE DO I EVEN BEGIN. She's introduced in the middle of a male characters "trilogy" (Apollo justice) so the story is never about her. She appears in aa5 only to NEVER headline her own case IN HER INTRODUCTORY GAME and always fail unless a man comes in and saves her. Her own story is sidelined for Apollos. Next game, she only really appears in one case that's a throwaway and still can't do shit on her own. Ugh. She deserved to be treated better, more competent, etc.
3.) my girl is an attorney and a practicing psychologist at age 18 (youngest defense lawyer in the series) & is often shown to be more competent than her male colleagues, and yet is constantly pushed out/sidelined/generally treated like an assistant character rather than a lawyer (the assistant position in these games is usually reserved for characters who don't have law degrees/are generally not educated enough to understand the courtroom proceedings to their full extent. athena is none of those things but she gets treated the same way by the game because. well. we know why.) Instead of being the main playable attorney in her debut game, the story is taken over by her male colleague (WHO ALREADY HAD A WHOLE GAME DEDICATED TO HIS BULLSHIT BTW) & her development is ignored in favor of his in both her debut game AND her second game. Even when her backstory IS explored it's done via a male family friend of hers, meaning even when her OWN story is being told it's not even about her it's about simon's lame ass. for extra context here in her debut game she is only the playable attorney in one case out of five, while the other (male) playable attorneys were playable in all or all-but-one of the cases in THEIR debut games. capcom hates women sooooo bad
CARMELITA MONTOYA FOX (SLY COOPER)
1.) Carmelita has always been portrayed as a sexy badass, but the fourth game in the series does her dirty. Throughout the game she’s given the “bitchy ex-girlfriend” treatment and is always regarded as an unreasonable nag. In addition, they put her in an impractical miniskirt (previous games had her in pants), and there is a minigame where she is forced to dress like a belly dancer to distract some guards (including prompting the player to have her shake her ass for extra coins) and when she complains about this, nobody listens to her, and is then reduced to the damsel in distress in the final act of the game, when previously she has always been a major help in taking down the final boss. While not the main reason a lot of Sly Cooper fans hate this game, it’s certainly a factor.

ODDLY SPECiFiC RESiDENT EViL HEAD CANONS
characters i’ll include
jack krauser
leon kennedy
ada wong
albert wesker
luis sera
jill valentine
chris redfield
claire redfield
WARNING: childhood trauma/abuse, implied/referenced violence, mental health
JACK KRAUSER
she jack on my krauser till i major
transgender and mlm. no room for argument. it’s canon, i’m capcom
was the youngest of 3 brothers
grew up on the country side with traditional parents
his parents were physically abusive to both each other and the kids, meaning he grew up with out a healthy understanding of love. he doesn’t know how to express affection or love outside of violence because of this
ran away and joined the army at 18 and didn’t leave until operation javier. the army became a second home and he never learned how to function in society outside combat.
he hates that he’s gay and because of this he resents anyone he falls for (also partially because of how he communicates affection). liking boys not only insults his masculinity, but also makes him dysphoric, as he sees that aspect of himself as the remaining female side of him that he’ll never be able to get rid of
building off of the last bullet, this is why he’s so hard on leon. i’ll probably make another post diving deeper into their dynamic so i’ll leave it at that
he doesn’t listen to music often, but when he does it’s metal
LEON KENNEDY
he was the first protag i ever played as so i’m biased😞 ik i’m a basic fan i’m sorry gang
he’s more of a dog person and probably had one as a childhood pet, but has been scared of them ever since raccoon city
bisexual
was an amateur guitar player for some time but dropped it once becoming an agent
mamas boy
had a bit of chub before becoming an agent
older!leon has a dad bod & beer belly. i don’t make the rules it’s canon, trust
not even a ship really (maybe it is idk) but i feel like him and chris experimented with their sexuality together? idk take that how you will
i feel like he’s got facial or body dysmorphia and is extremely insecure about how he looks / talks, or at least used to be
bleaches his hair
building off the last bullet again, Leon was blonde when he was younger, but his hair gradually got darker as he grew up. eventually he started bleaching it because he didn’t want to have brown hair. his natural hair color from re2-re4 is dirty blonde. he stopped dying it as he got older
no matter how badly he wants a normal domestic life (to settle down, start a family, and give his kids the childhood he never had) he’s secretly terrified of the idea. he doesn’t know how to function outside of work, even when on vacation he can’t seem to relax
speaking of a domestic life, he’d name his kids some stupid shit like hunter or something
autistic. he has trouble decoding social cues (like when ashley jokes with him) and is fairly awkward. was definitely the “weird kid” in middle school
played hockey as a kid
i feel like he comes from somewhere cold, and because of that is fairly adapted to cooler temps but also can’t stand heat (like at all)
sleeps with a billion pillows
chronic gum chewer. it’s a comforting, absent minded movement that keeps him grounded on the job. i wanna say his favorite flavor is just regular bubble gum but maybe that’s just because i hate mint idk
has sensitive skin and eczema
ADA WONG
ada’s hard because she has no canon backstory or even personality really💔
has cherry blossom lip gloss and re-applies it religiously
has drop foot (i genuinely can’t think of any other reason she’d always been wearing high heels 😞)
mommy issues
was in and out of foster care her entire childhood only to end up back with her mom everytime
because she was so heavily neglected as a kid & basically raised herself, ada’s become extremely self sufficient and refuses to rely or depend on anyone
she has issues identifying her feelings and honestly doesn’t care enough to work through them. because of this she isn’t sure if she even likes leon at all. she can’t tell if she loves him or just finds him useful, ether way she wants him around/safe and she isn’t sure why
she smokes sometimes but hates it, so she only falls back on nicotine when doing horribly. she carries cigarettes around with her on missions
ALBERT WESKER
kitty meow meow
on the aro/ase spec
has autism, ASPD (psychopath), and a god complex (obviously)
sees himself as better than average people because he doesn’t experience sexual attraction (no hate to ppl who think otherwise, i just really can’t see him any sort of sexual context). he views sexuality as a weakness and looks down on it
mlm
i feel like him and chris have somewhat of a krauser/leon dynamic if that makes sense. he sees chris as an almost equal, but also as a threat because of it. he respects him to a degree. again, i’m probably going to make a post on them later so i’ll leave it at that
i haven’t finished 6 yet so correct me if this has been disproven in canon, but i like to think he had jake on purpose. while yes, he didn’t know about jake, i like to think he hooked up with ms muller with the goal of having a child. he probably deemed her as suitable, and had desirable traits that he wanted to carry on, but never knew she actually got pregnant
listens to classical music & maybe 80s as well?
not a head canon, but the band she wants revenge reminds me of him a lot
insane skincare routine
sensory issues & sensitive eyes because of uroboros (leads to overstimulation sometimes which makes him even more of a grumpy bitch)
loves flowers
doesn’t smoke often but when he does he prefers camels or marlboro blues (i don’t smoke (except for when i’m missing you) so idrk what i’m talking about)
LUiS SERA
inclusivity win! the scientist that helped make the tyrant actively chasing you down is gay!
mlm
grew up in a casually christian household & still holds onto some core ideologies, though in a more superstitious way than religious
holds onto a cross necklace from his childhood & prays when in tight situations
his parents smoked and that’s how he picked it up
speaking of, he’s extremely picky when it comes to what cigarettes he smokes. he prefers marlboro reds (again idfk what im talking about)
his jacket is custom tailored
he came from a poor household
probably wears eyeliner
has been to a gay bar
very physically affectionate & probably kisses people when drunk (platonically)
JiLL VALENTiNE
her name is jill sandwich!!!!!
lesbian. sorry i don’t make the rules. she’s gay. sorry chris & carlos
i mean just look at her she’s lesbian
has a little sister
can speak some french, though not too well due to lack of use
still has blonde hair from re6, but dyes it. (wesker absolutely killed the melanin in her skin and hair.) because she doesn’t have time to be constantly re-dying her hair so she has blonde streaks & roots.
has a cat
her favorite fruit is a pear. idk why she just seems the type
CHRiS REDFiELD
something about a boulder
bisexual
has been horribly down bad for jill for years (she sees him as a brother ;-( tough luck big guy)
was the stereotypical overprotective brother when him and claire were younger, always scaring the shit out of anyone she brought home
extremely good with dogs - actually considered being a dog trainer when he was younger
god knows that man RARELY does laundry - if at all. probably smells like a dog & uses 4 in 1 shampoo. stinky vermin
speaking of laundry, he probably wears swim trunks on the regular bc all his clothes are dirty
terrified of commitment
total adrenaline junkie with a savior complex (then again, doesn’t every resident evil protagonist?)
would be an amazing dad but is terrified of the idea of settling down. no matter how badly he wants to have a domestic life he doesn’t know how to adapt to it
has a german shepherd
can’t cook for the life of him; lives off microwaveable meals
literally the definition of “damn girl, you live like this???”
insanely high pain tolerance
CLAiRE REDFiELD
thinking about how she was 19 during raccoon city (making her you her than ashley was during re4)
dyes her hair auburn
bisexual
has probably punched at least one person for saying some stupid bigoted shit
she’s 100% messy, brash, and assertive, & i’m sick of pretending she’s not. she was raised by chris, the boulder punching fist for brains? no way is her room organized
has kissed jill before
her and chris used 2 do target practice in junk yards together & she once accidentally shot herself in the leg after shooting at metal
has always had crazy high pain tolerance, it runs in the family
because of her high pain tolerance she used to get hurt a lot on accident as a kid (doing stupid shit like messing around with fire or blades)
hates wearing her hair down

APOLLO JUSTICE!!!!! AHHHHHH!!!! What i would literally give to have a true AA4 sequel. I wholeheartedly believe if Yamazaki's team could ignore aa4 canon to make 5 & 6 then Shu Takumi should absolutely be allowed to ignore any 5&6 canon to make an aa4 sequel. I'm dying out here pleaseeeeee
The Phoenix sticker is from Peachcott. The Klavier sticker is from Ayabit from the Turnabout Cinema zine. The Apollo and Trucy stickers are from astarsor.

Summary:
I love this game so much. I love it so much that I am heartbroken knowing that AA 5 & 6 butchers the story it setup and I'm considering not even playing them unless AA7 is announced. I love all the main characters so much, the whole story was so well built and I can def see the influence the story had on DGS. Apollo is such a good protagonist, he's relatable but also so unique. I love seeing his character progression in the game: a new attorney who is easily manipulated to a confident and determined attorney who trusts in his own judgement. I LOVED Klavier oh my god. I love how much he respects Apollo and although he doesn't hesitate to tease him, he doesn't bully or abuse Apollo in any way. They both have a mutual admiration and rivalry where they try to play as fairly as possible. Klav doesn't maliciously withhold or change evidence, but he does spend hours reviewing his arsenal and thinks of all the counter arguments the defense could bring up. I really like Apollo's ability, it continues the mystery and mysticism from the original trilogy but with new mechanics. I adore Trucy so much. She honestly might be my favorite AA character. She's determined, strong willed, and above all -- extremely silly. I couldn't of asked for a better character to be Phoenix's daughter. I also LOVE the sibling reveal at the end but gdi if only they actually figure it out T^T T^T. I think Apollo and Trucy's dynamic is probably my favorite Defense and assistant dynamic. This who game was so fun, I know 4-3 is not everyone's favorite and it is a little all over the place but I also enjoyed it and loved the premise. There's so much to say, I haven't even talked about Nick and Kris - what an incredible feud, what a genius development for Nick. I cannot recommend this game enough, I am so obsessed with it and cannot wait to make art <3 <3.
