I feel like a lot of fic writers would have a healthier relationship to their own work and to Ao3 if they stopped thinking about fic as a commodity they produced for a consumer base and thought about fic instead as art they share with a creative community, and if more fic writers had access to fandom writing spaces where they could get that community support and engagement without tying it specifically to content creation
