Finding out About Yona [Part II]

[I'm absolutely blown away by how much notes part one has! I'm really thankful for all of the support! I hope you guys like this! Part one will be linked below.]

It has roughly been a month since I last laid foot in Zora's Domain. I haven't heard a word from Sidon since. I had abruptly moved out of the domain making myself home in Tarry Town. It has been abundantly painful, as the last time we talked we were in an argument. I constantly tried keeping myself busy whether helping Hudson, or going off and exploring new fallen pieces that fell from the skies above. I found myself walking along the edge of Akkala seeking sundelions from Hudson's request. I sighed in annoyance, they weren't easy flowers to find.

"I swear there was some growing here..." I grumbled, clearly annoyed. I pulled away from the grass, making my way towards a rock formation, leaning against it. I then sat down next to the trail resting my head into my arms, holding myself close. The thoughts of Sidon and his engagement to Yona filled my mind. No matter how many distractions I had, the thoughts and feelings always came back. My breathing started to pick up a bit thinking about the situation at hand. "I still can never get you off my mind..." I whispered to myself, as if hoping that would clear my heavy heart. I trembled a bit as my breathing was quick to turn into hyperventilation. I was lost in my mind, as I couldn't hear the sound of footsteps upon the trail, with a sharp and audible gasp. The figure seemed to stop and started talking. It all sounded like gibberish, anything that went in one ear went out the other.

"(Y/n)!" The figure cried giving me a light shake. I was startled, looking up to see a black Zora who was a guard. I was quick to gasp out of shock immediately standing up, backing away lightly.

"...Bazz?" I asked in a broken tone still not in a fit state to be interacting with others. However, I took a few deep breaths before getting into a semi-calm state to interact with Bazz. "What is the captain of the guard doing all the way outside of the domain?" I asked with a rather frantic tone. Bazz only gazed at me with a rather concerned look. His amber eyes only seemed to be filled with worry.

"(Y/n), are you alright?! We haven't seen you in weeks, everyone was worried SICK!!-" He paused before quickly clearing his throat, noticing that he was acting informal. He sighed, then stood up lightly tapping his silverscale spear on the trail. "I was personally sent out to look for you by request of King Sidon. Now that I found you, I'll escort you back to the domain at once!" He stated in a firm voice, eyes still carrying a look of concern. I stood still, trying to process everything. I only stepped back a bit more with a quick head shake.

"King ... Sidon?" I asked, completely dismissing what he had stated. "When did Sidon become King..?" I asked a little bit quieter, if anything; asking myself.

"He was crowned by the now retired King Dorephan not too long ago, after him and Master Link had saved the domain. Post-crowning ceremony, as stated before; he had personally sent me to come find you. We need to get going before it starts getting dark outside." Bazz said in a formal tone, I was personally taken aback by his rather direct tone. I shook my head once again.

"I'm not going back to the domain! I don't even live there anymore. There's no point in doing so." I snapped, feeling a strain in my voice. Everything really felt like it was coming back, not in a good way. It was now Bazz's turn to be taken aback himself. He gazed at me with widened eyes before he sighed. He stamped his spear a bit into the ground, turning his head, thinking of what to say. He gazed back at me with his eyes piercing into my own.

"Look (Y/n)..." He started, closing his eyes for a moment before he looked back down at me. "I obviously cannot force you to come with me, however I have been looking for you for two weeks straight. It isn't just King Sidon that's worried about you, it's most of the domain as well. I personally thought you had died, it took a toll on me. While I am captain of the guard, I'm also asking as your friend... Please come back to Zora's Domain." He pleaded with a bit of desperation in his voice. I sighed, before slowly nodding and choosing to go back with him. By the time we reached the domain, the sun was starting to set. The Zoras around the domain saw me and were whispering among themselves and looked at me in surprise. While it was starting to get to me, it all had stopped the minute I saw him. Sidon... His back was turned, the crown upon him that King Dorephan once wore was now upon his head. Bazz told me to stay still, as he approached Sidon whispering to him, before giving a quick bow before stepping away. Sidon was quick to turn around seeing me stand before him. He was very quick to approach me before standing in silence.

"It's you..." He said with a softened tone, his face was unreadable. He seemed to be picking his words carefully this time. I only crossed my arms at him, doing my best to hold in any emotions that I was feeling. I felt like I was shaking from everything being held in. Sidon was quick to break, his eyes started to fill with tears.

"Well?" I asked, clear shakiness in my voice.

He breathed before his golden eyes closed for a moment. "Darli- I mean- (Y/n)..." He then opened his eyes, looking absolutely destroyed. "I'm truly sorry for how I behaved towards you. I really wasn't myself then, there was a lot on my mind... I never wanted my actions to hurt you like this." He said mustering up the best apology he could in the state he was in. For a moment, I started to calm down before I saw a green Zora stepping in, standing by his side. It was Lady Yona. This immediately brought me back to my breaking point and I snapped.

"Really? That's all?!- I just... You made me come all this way just to say that? It seems all you did was waste my time! Thanks!" I scoffed angrily, clearly upset. Sidon's saddened eyes went wide at this completely shocked at my tone. He was clearly hurt, Yona placed a comforting hand on his shoulder, both of them looking at each other before looking back at me. This was the nail that finally hit the coffin for me. I immediately started turning around to leave.

"Wait! (Y/n)! We're still talking!" He cried out towards me, but I ignored him, feeling my eyes burn with tears. He kept calling for me, but I kept ignoring him. I finally felt a tight yank on my wrist, I winced. "(Y/N)! Would you LISTEN to me for once?!" I heard him speak with his teeth lightly gritting. I turned around, trying to pull my arm back, but it wasn't working.

"Let me go! All you've done was leave me for someone else without even consulting me!" I cried out with spite in my voice. He was quick to respond back mirroring my tone.

"It was a political marriage! Besides, you chose to disappear for a whole MONTH! I genuinely thought you were dead! I was beyond worried about you! You didn't even say anything when you left!" He snapped. I could hear a stomp behind both of us.

"Would both of you cut it out?! Both of you are acting like complete children!" Yona yelled out behind Sidon and I. We were both very quick to silence ourselves, turning towards her shocked. She composed herself, before turning towards me. "(Y/n), Sidon and I came to the conclusion that it's best for us to not fulfill our political marriage. My own home needs me more than ever now after what happened in Hyrule." She then turned to Sidon for him to continue. Sidon needed a minute to cool down, before his gaze met mine.

"(Y/n), look. I understand that communication is important. I'm sorry that I never stated anything about the engagement either, I was too busy with my own duties, I had neglected someone I love the most, and that is you. I've always seen Lady Yona as an older sister, my feelings were always complicated about the situation. It took a lot of talking to my father to get out of the engagement." He said with a very sincere tone. My eyes went wide at this. Before I could respond, he very dramatically went on his knees, grasping onto both of my hands.

"Sidon..." I finally muttered softly, feeling tears in my eyes as I was finally beginning to feel the weeks of suppressed emotions hit me.

"(Y/n), will you have me once again? However, this time things will be different. We will both be open and communicate with one another. No more hiding away our feelings. I now want you at my side, no more distance between us!" He practically proposed to me, looking into my eyes with eyes filled with hope. I was quick to nod at him, with a soft giggle.

"Of course Sidon! I would love nothing more than to be by your side!" I said with a warm smile, he gasped before giving me his signature winning smile. He lets go of my hands, revealing a ring, and then slid it upon my ring finger. Sidon picked me up and twirled me around laughing. We both laugh in each other's hold. Afterwards, Yona had approached me with a warm look as Sidon and I held hands.

"(Y/n), please treat him well. Sidon means the world to me, and even more so to see him happy." Yona said with a smile. I nodded in response smiling at her in return.

"Of course. I'm sorry for not acting the best as of late..." I said looking at her guilt. "I'm glad Sidon has you as a sister figure." I had finished off. Yona and I both shook hands before she left the domain.

Some time passed by, Sidon and I had finally wed, as we would rule the domain together side by side becoming closer. At the wedding ceremony, Yona and I had bonded over embarrassing stories from her and Sidon's childhood, she has also become like a sister to me. Meanwhile, Sidon and Link bonded over who could throw a korok the farthest. While nothing was perfect, it was more than you could ask for.

Captain Yona Masters steps out of the ship's break room, a mug of coffee in each hand. Originally, she thought she'd only be leaving with one; but on the way, she swore she could hear sounds of activity coming from the engine room. And there's only one person on the ship that she can think of, besides herself, who's enough of a workaholic to still be up at this ungodly hour... So instead of returning to her office, Yona takes a detour to the engine room. She spots her Head Engineer as soon as she sets foot inside, and clears her throat to get his attention, not wanting to startle him. When he turns around, she approaches him with a smile, offering him one of the mugs. "Think I could persuade you to take a break with me? That thing you're working on won't explode if you're distracted from it for a few minutes, will it~?" she teases, nodding her chin at the big complicated-looking mechanism behind him. -@infinite-infinite-stars

Engineer was trying to be as quiet as possible right now, he had trouble falling asleep, he had tried for abit before giving up and he couldn't stand to just do nothing so here he was, his tools in his hand crouched down working on who knows what to keep himself busy.

mark had been going at this for awhile now, he was planning to go on till he felt himself get tired or someone else got mad and complained about the sound of him working and telling him to be quiet.

He had put one of his tools down to grab one of the others he needed, a pile of nuts, bolts and more sat beside him, he heard the sound of someone clearing their throat. he put the tool down turning his head to the sound, He hope he didn't end up waking her up, he would feel bad, the captain needed her rest and here he was being loud, he didn't even know what time it was right now, he had lost track of it awhile ago.

He carefully took the mug into his hands, taking a sip of the coffee.

It was refreshing and hit the spot to have after working for who knows how long, "of course, i mean how could i say no to you and coffee?" He gave one of his usually goofy smiles, he turned his head back to what he was working on for a second, "it shouldn't but anything can happen" he joked back, "but actually we're good and just to be clear i didn't like disturb you or something?" He asked, his smile turning sheepish abit. He was covered in dust and grease abit from working but it wasn't to bad, it had been worse before.

Was ISWM the first time your captainsona experienced a bunch of people being in awe of how handsome and/or beautiful they were, or have they received that kind of reaction before? How do they feel about it either way?

Yona is not unaccustomed to people finding her attractive, although she did kinda notice a slight uptick in admirers after she made captain, even before she was assigned to the Invincible II.

She’s never had someone try to literally throw themselves into her arms before, though. And she certainly didn’t expect aliens to get in on the act as well, that was a surprise.

She’s bemused by the attention, but she doesn’t mind it, overall. When people act shy around her or give her compliments, she appreciates it and finds it sweet, but doesn’t put much stock in it outside of that. If you truly want to get Captain Yona Masters’ attention-- in a romantic sense or otherwise-- you’re gonna have to do something besides just acknowledge that she’s hot, y’know?

*  —  unprompted.  //  @acriflos​ asked:  Deciding to take it upon herself to help Yoon with mundane tasks. Yona decided to fix the tare in Jae-ha's sleeve. She sows it up quite neatly considering she hasn't done it before then decides she wants to be adventurous. Using some colored thread she sows a green dragon, an ugly green dragon but a dragon non the less over the stitching and a red flower on its head. Kinda chuffed with herself, she places the clothing back from and skidaddles to do the next task wondering if he would like it.

                    it doesn’t take much effort for him to notice the new embroidery on his sleeve;  it does take a little effort to try to figure out what it’s supposed to be.  a few twists and turns of the fabric and he makes out the pattern  —  a dragon and a rose.  not quite the most spectacular needlework he’s ever seen  (  not even close  ), but discernible none the less.  still, maybe he was getting soft  (  or he’s always been a bit sentimental, easily moved by these small gestures, though only when other’s backs are turned  )  .  he feels it:  a dull warmth blossoming in his chest and a gentle smile tugging at his lips;  giddiness manifesting as laughter bubbling in his throat.

                    he has only an inkling about who could’ve done this.  yoon’s handiwork was perfect, precise, and he hardly thinks he would’ve wasted some time doing this.  no one else has quite the steady enough hand  (  kija’s awful claws would easily rip fabric to shreds  ).   only one other has small enough hands, with fingers more equipped to steady a bow than fashion clothing  —  but it’s cute and endearing that she even took the time out to do it.  

                     he’d have to make sure to wear it with pride  (  even if it clashed quite a bit with his aesthetic  ).

Pitch Me your thing!

HELLO HELLO MY SUNBEAMS. For most every category, there was an impressive turn-out for pitches, so I thought we’d utilize the weirdness of this year’s GIFTENING to give something new a try. The popular vote winner for each category will happen on the first day, but on the second, the winner will be chosen from YOUR PITCHES. Mostly those pitches will be to me. The exception is in Miscellaneous, where you’ll be pitching to my family, because what I want to do and what is most entertaining isn’t necessarily the same thing.

So! How will we do this thing? GLAD YOU ASKED. I’ll link you to a form in a minute with space for one pitch. Once you fill it out, you’ll be asked if you want to do another. There’s no limit to the number of pitches you can send in! But remember that if you submit multiple entries for the same category, you’ll basically be competing against yourself.

NOW WE’VE GOT SOME RULES FOR DOING THIS (which I mostly stole from Holligay, because I have no creativity this year). Please read them carefully! I’ll toss pitches that break any of these, and I’d rather your hard work not go to waste.

Entries must be unsigned! I’m looking to chose based on the pitch alone, regardless of who submitted it.

My Hero Academia Shie Hassaikai Arc Season 4 EP#64 (01) - The Scoop on U.A. Class 1-A: Freelance journalist Taneo gets an exclusive with Class 1-A in hopes of uncovering the new Symbol of Peace after the retirement of All Might.

JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind EP#03 - Meet the Gangster Behind the Wall: Bucciarati agrees to introduce Giorno into the Passione organization, but he has to be evaluated by Polpo, a morbidly obese capo. Giorno visits him in prison and realizes that he is a Stand user. Polpo tasks him with keeping the flame on a cigarette lighter burning for 24 hours as a test of his trust. Giorno arrives back at his dorm with the lighter, but he is forced to evade Koichi, who has come looking for his passport. The lighter is accidentally doused by a janitor; the janitor reignites the lighter, causing Polpo's Stand Black Sabbath to appear. Black Sabbath kills the janitor by grabbing his soul and piercing an arrow through it, then turns to attack Giorno.

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba EP#05 - My Own Steel: The demon's body disintegrates and the souls of Urokodaki's students he killed depart to the afterlife. As the demon dies, he remembers when he was turned into a demon as a young boy and even after his transformation, had always been longing for a warm hand to hold, specifically that of his older brother's. Tanjiro smells sadness from its body and holds its hand, causing the demon to cry. For the next week, Tanjiro continues to survive, asking every demon for a method to turn a demon into a human again, though none answer. At the end of Final Selection, Tanjiro and three others are the only survivors, all of whom are assigned the lowest of 10 ranks, Mizunoto, as well as a Kasugai crow to help in communication. They are also give uniforms and allowed to chose the ore of their personal Nichirin Blades. Tanjiro returns to the cabin bruised and exhausted, as Nezuko arrives to greet him, having awoken from her year-and-a-half long slumber. Urokodaki deduces that Nezuko is making up for not eating humans by sleeping to gain strength. 15 days later, Tanjiro's sword is delivered by Haganezuka, the swordsmith. As Nichirin Blades change colour depending on the wielder, his turns black, a rare colour that superstitions make out to be unlucky. Now having a sword, Tanjiro's Kasugai crow delivers his first mission: to head to a town in the northwest where young girls have been vanishing nightly, and kill the demon responsible.

One-Punch Man 2 EP#05 (17) - The Martial Arts Tournament: Metal Knight tries to defeat Elder Centipede, but fails to even scratch the behemoth monster. After a lengthy battle Garou defeats Metal Bat, but grudgingly admits that Metal Bat would have won if he managed to hit him even once. Metal Bat gets up and nearly kills Garou when Garou's back is turned, but stops when his younger sister, Zenko, finds him. Garou counterattacks, but Zenko gets between them and orders them to stop fighting. Garou relents (having a soft spot for kids) and walks away to find Watchdog Man. Metal Bat tries again to go after Elder Centipede, but collapses due to too much damage from his battles with Elder Centipede and Garou after Zenko slaps him back down to get him to stop. The two C Class heroes (Pineapple and Mohican) who have Narinki and Waganma are confronted by Rhino Wrestler and are swiftly defeated, which causes the monsters to capture Waganma. Two Monsters named Phoenix Man and Sludge Jellyfish try to persuade Garou to join the Monster Association, but Garou refuses. Phoenix Man promises Garou that they will meet again if Garou will continue to hunt for heroes, and tells Elder Centipede and the rest of the monsters to retreat, with Metal Knight following them. Bang and Bomb continue to try to find Garou, and Bang lets out his frustration on a Demon-level monster named Boxing Demon, killing him violently with a ruthless barrage of blows. Many monsters of different disaster levels (Martial Gorilla, Do-S, Hundred Eyes Octopus, Pure-Blood, and Make Plasma) start attacking heroes, which worries the Hero Association. Before Do-S can kill Dynamite Man (her power being that if she whips someone, they will be under her control) with her mind controlled heroes, Fubuki stops her attack. Meanwhile, in the Fight Tournament Saitama is introduced to Bakuzan, Suiryu, Lightning Max, Ring Ring, Hamukichi, Choze, Zakkos and Snek, with Genos watching in the crowd. Suiryu notices Bakuzan's bloodlust toward him, and is only after the prize money, although Suiryu wishes he could have fought against WolfMan (Garou in disguise). After Lightning Max defeats Ring Ring, Zakkos reveals that the fighters are often paired up based on their looks. Saitama deduces that Zakkos is weak since he's paired up with Saitama (Saitama being sorted due to him appearing "weak.") which angers Zakkos. In the post credit scene, Saitama slaps Zakkos, defeating him in one hit, much to Saitama's annoyance. Suiryu notices Saitama's strength and is excited to face him in the finals.

Dr. Stone Kingdom of Science Arc EP#12 - Buddies Back to Back: The silver spear made by Senku is revealed to be a sensor to detect poisonous gases coming from a pool of sulfuric acid, which they need for the antibiotic. Knowing the risks involved, Senku offers to teach Chrome everything he knows about science on the off-chance that he dies, but Chrome refuses, instead proposing a tag-team style approach. While gathering the acid using special gas masks, Chrome nearly falls into the pool but is saved by Ginro, who overcomes his fear and helps the duo obtain a bottle of the acid.

Fire Force EP#15 - The Blacksmith's Dream: Knights of the Ashen Flame, Yona and Arrow, report Shinra's Adolla burst to their commander, Sho Kusakabe, Shira's brother. Meanwhile, forensic scientist, Viktor Licht, is assigned to Company 8 and Shinra is selected to take Arthur and Iris to recruit the crackerjack engineer, Vulcan. He has an intense dislike for Haijima and the Fire Force, but at his junkyard workshop they meet Vulcan's apprentice, Yu, who agrees to take them inside. Vulcan explains his a dream of recreating animal life on the planet. While there, Captain Dr. Giovanni from Company 3 arrives to ask Vulcan to join him, but he refuses even though Giovanni has stopped supplies getting through to Vulcan's workshop. Vulcan's assistants, Lisa and Yu, explain that Giovanni was one of Vulcan's grandfather's two apprentices, who joined Haijima after the other two died suspiciously. Meanwhile nearby, Giovanni prepares to kill Vulcan, however Shira detects his presence.

Food Wars!: Shokugeki no Soma EP#18 - The Karaage of Youth: Noting that the shopping district focuses more on walk-and-eat food, as opposed to Mozuya's packaged approach, Soma shifts his focus towards creating a karaage that can be enjoyed straight out of the fryer. Opting to go with chicken thigh meat with a chilli-based marinade, Soma gets inspiration from a bento shop owner and decides to serve his karaage in rice flour wraps with salad, providing enhanced flavor, portability, and appeal all at once. This brings a large amount of business, which in turns helps the rest of the shopping district come back to life, and Nakamozu has no choice but to admit defeat. Afterwards, Soma puts Mayu in charge of helping with the karaage's sales, having noticed her good qualities. Returning to the academy, Soma is brought before Mozuya's puppetmaster, Etsuya Eizan, the ninth seat of the Elite Ten, who informs him that he has been chosen for the Autumn Elections.

Lupin the 3rd Part 5 Enzo Bron Arc EP#21 - An Outdated Master Thief: Enzo Bron, the president of the global IT company Shake Handz, officially presents his company's new app called PeopleLog, a service linking facial recognition with global databases to create publicly accessible personal profiles. Lupin and company soon find that PeopleLog has become widely used to check people's identities, making it impossible for them to appear in public and easy for the police and Lupin's enemies to track his movements. Also, the apparent reliability of PeopleLog easily sways public opinion, and the world's governments become concerned that the app may cause political control to slip from their hands. As Lupin and Jigen head to rejoin Goemon, who has retreated into the mountains, they encounter Zenigata, who tells them that Fujiko has been captured by Enzo.

Black Clover: Elf Tribe Reincarnation Arc EP#94 - New Future: Yami attacks but is too late to stop Licht retrieving the stones and disappearing through a portal. Rhya activates his self-destruct spell to kill Mereoleona. Asta, having seen the same spell used by Vetto and Fana, nullifies it. Asta demands to know why the Midnight Sun hates humans when they themselves appear human. He also insists on trying to understand the Midnight Suns motives and making peace with them, echoing the Wizard Kings wishes. Rhya realises Asta sounds exactly like Licht used to. Julius realises that Licht had enough power by himself to kill everyone in the kingdom; therefore the stones must have another purpose. Julius entrusts his dream of a better world to Yami and all the other magic knights before finally dying. Yuno approaches the mage, who has the ears of an elf. He also notices another black sword nearby. Licht betrays Rades, Sally and Valtos, revealing his total contempt for their human greed and selfishness and also that the stones will not grant them greater magic power but will in fact use them as sacrifices to fuel the resurrection. As he places the stones in the tablet light covers the entire kingdom. Rhya reveals the resurrection has begun as he transforms into an elf. The elf in the sphere of light suddenly awakens while Yuno also begins to transform into an elf.

 “ReallyJae-ha I could have handled this myself.” Yona pursed her lips as the GreenDragon insisted on coming with her to gather firewood. They each had a largebundle as they were heading back to camp. “Hak and Kija were busy hunting soit’s the least I could do, hopefully we can find an inn once we get to Shisentomorrow, everyone needs a good rest.”

 “Oh kiddoyou’re adorable how you want to do everything yourself.” Jae-ha laughed,smiling warmly at her. “Can’t you just accept we beasts want to take care ofyou? Not that I’m complaining, seeing that stubborn look on your face is simplybeautiful when you tried to lift more than you can handle.”

 ‘Great he saw my bad side again… Just when Ithought I could do better.’ Yona pursed her lips, but felt kind of happy hecame along. She liked talking with Jae-ha and ever since yesterday she seemedto notice she was extremely comfortable talking to him about anything. Maybe itwas because he didn’t judge her like others would, and gave her a differentperspective on things. He was the type to speak his mind and it didn’t matterabout her status as a princess or anything like that, he just treated her likea normal girl and she appreciated that. “You just say that because you seem toadmire strong women who can take care of themselves, like Captain Gigan.”

 “Guilty.” The Ryokuryuu chuckled at that.“I respect your desire to grow stronger though, and your growth really has beenadmiring to watch. And that determined look you had in your eyes when youdecided to take us all into battle, you sure didn’t look like some scared kid.”He smiled, admiration on his face as he caught himself reflecting on it a bittoo much. ‘Gah, dragon’s blood is actingup again…. Why now?’ he smacked his fist against his chest as his heart wasbeating fast.

 Yona smiledat that, blushing at his praise. “I’m glad you don’t regret coming along withus then.”

 “Far fromit, it’s been really fun.” Jae-ha nodded, shaking his head to clear histhoughts as he was still cursing out his blood still. “Not at all what Iexpected for when the so called legendary dragons would gather, had I knownthis I wouldn’t have run from it all my life.” He chuckled. “For the first timeI really feel comfortable and at ease, even in Awa I always figured one day I’dleave and be back to running, especially if my so called ‘master’ would come for me. Though serving someone as beautiful asyou doesn’t seem all bad, maybe for my heart sometimes judging by Hak’sexpressions.” He laughed. “But he sure is committed to the job. And I doubt youever really must worry about him quitting, Yona dear.”

 “I’m notworried about that Jae-ha, after all Hak took his vow to my father seriously.”Yona said, smiling warmly. “… I just worry he’ll continue to put what he wantsto the side for my safety and to stay by my side… I don’t want him to sacrificeanymore, especially after he almost lost his life more than once.”

 “Sometimes Ireally wonder if you are a princess.” Jae-ha smiled warmly at her. “A normalroyal would be only worried about themselves and not their protectors likethis. Yet you concern yourself with all our safety and rather do thingsyourself than put us in harm’s way….”

 “Trust me Iwas a selfish brat back in the palace.” Yona groaned just remembering her daysback in the kingdom. “Hak can tell you all about it. Back then all I ever caredabout was my hair, jewels, and…” she froze just thinking about Soo-won, unableto say his name. She lowered her head and stood still for a moment, goingsilent. ‘Huh… Usually thinking aboutSoo-won used to hurt more than this but… Maybe I’m finally starting to move onfrom it, thanks to all the friends I have now… Though now that I think aboutit, I never really thought anyone was handsome like Soo-won until yesterdaywhen I found myself thinking about Jae-ha…’ she looked up at Jae-ha,blushing as she realized he had stopped and his face was close to hers, hishand on her forehead checking her temperature. “J-Jae-ha?!” her eyes widened.

 “Are youalright Yona dear? You suddenly stopped and didn’t look well and didn’t respondto me.” Jae-ha frowned, pulling back. “Yoon said you seemed restless lastnight, couldn’t sleep?”

 Yona feltlike her heart was beating like a drum, why did his closeness bother her somuch right this moment? “I-I’m fine… I just couldn’t seem to sleep some thingswere on my mind and I couldn’t calm down…” she mumbled, looking away.

 “Oh? Why?”Jae-ha asked, blinking.

 ‘I couldn’t stop thinking about you…’was what popped into Yona’s brain…. And her eyes nearly shot out of her headwhen she comprehended what her mind was thinking. ‘I CAN’T SAY THAT!’ shementally scolded herself, her whole face painted scarlet. ‘What is wrong with me?! I can’t say something crazy like that!’she shook her head. “N-nothing important.” She quickly turned and tried tostart walking again, but then she heard a loud boom as thunder roared the sky,she hadn’t even noticed the clouds gathering and that storm on its way. Rainstarted to fall and they still had a way to go to get back to camp.

 “Un-oh,looks like a storm we better hurry back.” Jae-ha frowned, looking at the sky.“Shall we then Yona dear?” he offered, placing the wood down to offer his openarms to lift her up. “You can hold onto the firewood while we fly in the sky.”

 Yona smiledat his offer, nodding as she was about to take it when another loud boomstartled her just as thunder struck one of the trees in the forest, causing oneto come crashing towards them. “Look outJae-ha!” she shouted, but suddenly they were in the air as he grabbed her,dropping the wood they gathered but her safety was his main concern.

 “Maybe itwould be best we look for shelter first.” Jae-ha said, holding the princessclose as he took a few short hops towards a small cavern. “We can hide in hereuntil the rain stops.” But there was another thunder strike, right as theystepped into the cavern, and suddenly there was a cave-in.

 “Yona!”Jae-ha immediately pushed Yona further inside, but got himself caught in thecave-in, getting buried under the rubble.

 “JAE-HA!” Yona gasped in horror seeinghim crushed under the rocks, his upper body wasn’t covered so she could see himthough it looked like his head got injured in the process. But his legs werecovered and their exit as well, she tugged on his arms trying to free him buthe was stuck badly. So she moved and tried to lift a boulder that had landed onhis leg, the main reason she couldn’t move him at all. “Jae-ha! Jae-ha wakeup!” she sobbed, concerned for her friend.

 “Unnnn….” The Ryokuryuu stirred for amoment, barely opening his eyes that tried to adjust to the darkness. “…. Yonadear? Are you alright?” he asked.

 “I’m finebut you’re hurt!” Yona said in a panic, still trying to move that boulder offhim.

 “Stand back…” Jae-ha warned, adjustinghimself as he waited for Yona to move, he quickly slammed his right footagainst the boulder to free his left leg, which split the rock in half andallowed him to scoot towards the cavern’s wall. It was a really small cave sothere wasn’t much room for them both. “Damn… I don’t think it’s broken but ithurts like hell, my dragon leg took the brunt of it.”

 “And we’retrapped…” Yona shivered, getting flashbacks to when they had that horriblecave-in that time in Shin-ah’s village.

 “I can getus out…” Jae-ha grit his teeth, attempting to stand on his injured leg so thathe could use his dragon one to break the rocks but he couldn’t stand on it, heimmediately fell right back down, cursing the pain. “Damn it all…”

 “Jae-hadon’t! You’re injured!” Yona scolded, helping him into a sitting position asshe leaned over him. “I’m sure Hak the others will look for us soon enough withthe storm. Kija can sense you so they’ll find us, don’t worry.”

 The GreenDragon hissed again at the pain, it was only then he realized his head was insplitting pain from one of the rocks that hit him, but that’s also when henoticed how tiny the cavern they were currently in… And that’s when it hit himthey wouldn’t have much air for long, not to mention it was such a small place,reminding him of that terrible room from his youth that he was shackled to…

 ‘Don’t think about that right now, you haveto stay calm for Yona’s sake.’ He scolded himself, shutting his eyes. ‘Breath… Breath… You have to stay togetheror you’re going to make her panic, she’s right Kija should be able to lead theothers to us and dig us out easily… If only I could stand I could try kickingour way out, though that might start another cave-in….’ his train of thoughtwas cut off as Yona was untying her sash and wrapping it around his head,trying to cover a bleeding wound. “Sorry you have to see me in such…Unbeautiful condition…” he tried to joke, opening his eyes and he didn’trealize just how close she was until he came into focus and met her amethysteyes.

 Jae-hafroze, his eyes widened as he saw her concerned face and features up close,even with the dimly lit cavern and her face just inches from his. ‘By the dragon gods, has she always beenthis beautiful? She’s so close I could almost-‘ his head unconsciouslyleaned closer until he caught himself, immediately starting to curse himselfout. ‘God damn it dragon blood this isnot the time nor place for that!’

 “I’m sorryJae-ha is it too tight?” Yona asked, noticing his expression and worried shedid it wrong. “Just you’re bleeding and I was trying to put something on it.”

 “N-no it’sfine kiddo, just my leg hurts.” Jae-ha shut his eyes, cursing out his urge tojust pull her into his arms and kiss her right now. ‘Seriously what is with this dragon’s blood? Why does it keep havingto act so confusing in a situation like this? She’s just a-‘ his train ofthought was cut off as he opened his eyes again as he felt her hand on hischeek. “… Y-Yona dear…” his eyes methers and he was melting as he studied her features. Her lips parted with worryand her eyes looking at his with pity for his injuries, her cheeks a hint ofred and he could feel her breath against his face, adding to his raging desireto just wrap her up in his arms and smother her in love in affection, but thatthought made him shut his eyes once more.‘STOP IT! These feelings aren’t mineand I’m sick of them being forced on me! Besides she already has Hak and Iwouldn’t dare take away from him-‘

 “Jae-ha,it’s ok.” Yona’s voice snapped him back to reality as his eyes opened oncemore, surprised at how calm she was being in this situation. “You don’t have tobe brave on my account, really.” She smiled warmly. “I know you’re worriedabout my safety but I’m sure the others will find us, knowing Hak he’ll noticethe storm and insist on looking right away.”

 Jae-ha lookedat her with surprised, chuckling lightly. “… You really surprise me, Yona dear.Here I should be the one reassuring you right now… I would think you’d be atleast a bit concerned with our situation.”

 “I’m moreworried about your injuries.” Yona admitted, brushing a bit of his hair to theside to check his face for any other head wounds. “As far as being trapped, Iguess it doesn’t bother me too bad because I feel safe by your side.” She smiledat him. ‘Huh now that I think about it, Iwas more scared that time we had that cave in at the Seiryuu Village. But herewith Jae-ha, I feel at ease, maybe because I know the others are out there and onthere way, that must be it.’ She shook the thought off. ‘Right now I need to focus on him, he’s clearly hurt and not doingwell. He’s trying to give a brave face but I can just tell it’s him trying tohold together so I don’t panic… That’s really sweet.’

 TheRyokuryuu seemed taken aback by her words, seeing her so… Concerned for him andhis wellbeing was something he really wasn’t used to. Sure the pirates caredabout him but remembering back to the days at his village, being chained tothat room and the beatings he’d get from his predecessor… It made his heartthump that she cared so much for her comrades, and her smiling face wasactually making him feel better too. “…. Just seeing you safe and smiling… Icouldn’t ask for anything more, Yona dear.”

 Yona’s facepainted scarlet from his words, her hand still on his face and they were juststaring at each other still. She let out a soft giggle, still smiling at him. “You’rea charmer even when you’re covered in wounds, Jae-ha.” She figured it wasanother one of his playful flirts he often did with her, but did it ever senther heart racing. “Just take it easy, we’ll be ok.” She pressed her lipstimidly against the top of his head, a gesture Hak had done to her before whenputting her at ease when she was upset, so she saw no harm in it.

 But for Jae-hait made his heart hammer worse in his chest, he knew she meant it in aninnocent, platonic way, but a part of him inside that he argued was just thedragon’s blood stirring him up wanted to wrap her up and take it further. Thissmall room was driving him crazy and her presence was the only thing keepinghim from losing his mind. Without thinking, after all his head was throbbing inpain, possibly from the blood loss, he took her hand and caressed it. “Yona…” he whispered huskily, their eyesmet once again as she looked at him unsure what he was doing. Reaching his handup to caress her cheek and weave his fingers into her hair, he leaned forwardtowards her enticing parted lips, just inches from his connecting…

 CRACK!A loud noise shattered one of the large boulders blocking their exit, as light filledthe small cavern and the sound made Yona spin around, her face lighting up. “Hak! Kija!” she cried. “In here! Jae-ha’shurt really bad!”

 ‘Damn couldn’t they have waited five seconds…?’Jae-ha found himself disappointed they were being rescued right now… Andhis eyes widened at that train of thought. ‘Whatthe hell am I thinking?! God dammit dragon blood of all things now you want meto take advantage of a girl’s naive kindness? What in the world is wrong withme?! I nearly-‘ he held his head with one hand realizing he was just mereseconds from stealing a kiss from Yona’s lips and it was driving him mad why hewas so driven to do that, and his heart was still going a mile a minute. ‘… That was too close.’ He shook hishead.

 Yona’scheeks were still red from his closeness but she did wonder just what was he goingto do back there? ‘I wonder if he waspushing out his forehead to check his temperature? I mean… It wasn’t like hewould…’ her heart gave a thump just thinking about how close their lips were.‘Come on heart, calm down. We’re safenow.’ She smiled and stood up, rushing to Hak who was panting from digging ashe grabbed her to check if she was safe.

 “We betterget you back to Yoon, can you stand?” Kija asked, offering to carry Jae-ha withhis dragon hand. “How did you two end up in here?”

 “Trust me itwasn’t a very beautiful moment for me.” Jae-ha chuckled lightly, nodding as hestood with the help of the White Dragon.

 Hakcontinued to grumble how he couldn’t leave the princess out of his sight andYona the whole way back found herself looking at her Ryokuryuu the whole time,barely processing what the Thunder Beast said. She still felt that ping in herheart and a weird sense of disappointment their moment alone together was over,and she didn’t quite understand why… Shouldn’t she be happy they were saved? ‘For some reason today feels so strange…Must be my imagination.’

The Rewrite of Fairy Tail: Part 15 (Wendy)

What am I going to do with Wendy? 

tfw you were going to crossover event yourself and review captain marvel the day after this came out but you don’t get the review ready in time and you don’t get the post for the blog you want to do this for typed up in time and you also realize you need to add stuff and this intro is too long 

I'm in a tough spot with Wendy. I can't say that Wendy is a particularly bad character. She may be one of Mashima's best-written female characters this side of Rave Master. But I have some issues with how that writing is handled, keeping me from saying she's outright the best of either the Dragon Slayers of the Strongest Team. In fact, she might be the toughest of the five to rewrite.

In my analogy of the Strongest Team as a team of five protagonists, I would describe Wendy as a character similar to one I've mentioned before: Princess Yona from Yona of the Dawn. As I've mentioned earlier, Yona's journey is coming from a life of comfort and protection and growing into a strong and capable fighter and leader. The series involves seeing her grow in these capacities while also keeping core personality in the process. Also, something, something reverse harem series. 

Wendy introduces herself as mostly able to use support magic. Of course, she knows magic spells that can be used to attack people. However, she knows she is at her most useful as a support mage, not an attack mage. After learning her life up to that point was largely a lie, she joins Fairy Tail and starts heading towards the path of becoming a competent combat wizard.

If you think about it, we don't see a strong showing of Wendy's fighting ability until the Grand Magic Games. She doesn't take out one of the Oracion Seis or Seven Kin of Purgatory. She plays more of a support role in the anime arcs. Even in the Grand Magic Games, she ties in a fight with Chelia and her fight with Cosmos had to be padded out in the anime. Even then, it's not that great and is easily one of the least memorable fights in a tournament arc, of all times. Her capture of Aquarius in the Eclipse arc is more about making friends than fighting with her. And, in Sun Village, she fought the Treasure Hunters with Lucy and Flare.  

To be clear, this is not a knock on her. I don't think that this doesn't make sense for Wendy. Not to mention, I think that her fight between Chelia is one of the best fights in the series and might be one of her most important moments as a character. 

However, it's hard to compare that fight with her fight in Tartarus. When she actually does fight Ezel, it's almost a spectacle to see. In the anime, before destroying Face, there's an unnecessarily long flashback of Wendy and Carla's time together. Thinking back through it, though, it's crazy that the same Wendy who wasn't confident in her fighting ability in Nirvana beat one of the Nine Demon Gates on her own. While she never exactly gets as great a spotlight, she more than holds her own in other fights. 

There are two things that are important to mention in regards to how this plays out. 

First is that she never actually gets worse at her main ability of healing/support magic. It never becomes something she does worse than regular combat magic. As much as the combat stuff becomes better, it's not too much of a stretch to say that her best role is as a support mage. After all, Irene takes over her body because of both her dragon slaying magic and enchanting abilities. Looking back, it makes sense that her secret arts were both the combat skill Sky Drill and the support skill Milky Way. And in the anime, she combines both in a fight against Erigor. 

The second, a fact that I've come to recognize as Fairy Tail has ended, is that Wendy is a fast learner. Not just in being able to work out those arts in a matter of days of training, as one could argue that's aided with the use of Gale-Force Reading Glasses. She picks up the Sky Dragon's Wing Attack just from watching Natsu use his version of the move.  So as annoying as it was to see Dragon Slaying Enchantment, it's not terribly improbable of her to after just hearing about it. (I didn't expect this to come back when I wrote the first draft of this.) 

Why does this make her a hard character for me to rewrite? 

One of the big issues I have with how this arc plays out for Wendy is one I've spend much time talking about before - lack of training. The fact that Fairy Tail doesn't focus on training probably hurts Wendy the most. The progression from Edolas to Tartarus makes less sense with little training in between fights. There's no sense of Wendy's making the change in perspective of combat magic. Obviously, with some of the changes to the series, this will help.

But the other bigger issue involves the way Wendy herself is written. I said that Wendy's fight with Exel marks a sign of growth for her. As it stands, it's probably the only sign of growth she has in the entire series. It's easy to look at Wendy only being about 14 now in the sequel and think about how little Wendy has grown up during Fairy Tail. I mean that's still around the time puberty happens so something, something Reedus' drawing, blah blah blah body issues. 

But it's hard to say that she starts to grow up in many other respects. Of course, I've talked a bit about her magic ability growing. However, she doesn't become less prone to cry. She doesn't become less apologetic over things she can't possibly control. Even her cutting her hair after the Exel fight gets changed back at the epilogue at the arc. 

I can understand this being excused as she still is a kid during the series and she has time to grow as a person. But, in rewriting this series, I can't carry the same type of mindset. With a shorter Fairy Sphere time, Wendy will actually have to grow up. She'll be at least 6 years older than she was at any point after the x791 arc in the original series. 

This presents writing Wendy with a more unique issue than most other characters. For the most part, I can keep the characters in a similar state from the beginning of that time skip to the end. There are some issues to worry about, like justifying Juvia's prolonged unrequited feelings for Gray, but I have some ways to get around that. Wendy at the end of the first time skip doesn't have to be a drastically different character from how she is. However, she has to be written in a way that recognizes that, once Natsu returns, she's a young adult. 

What should kick off that change? 

As is the case for some other characters, one big catalyst for change ought to be the end of Tenrou. Of course, that's the biggest and most important moment before the skip starts. However, seeing Acnologia and recognizing the gap in power between them isn't a bad motivator, assuming she sees it as another way to support her friends. With Natsu going off later to find Igneel, there's also a recognition that she can't rely on him or other mages to fight battles she thinks she can't fight all the time. She might even want to go with him, but he doesn't want her to go with him because he's concerned for her safety.  

You can probably tell what the end result should look like. We should get a Wendy more similar to what we got before chapter 416 with the abilities and skills she gains after the second time skip. She can't and shouldn't stop all her tears, but she has a better grip on her emotions than before and isn't afraid to get into a fight. She's still as kind-hearted and optimistic as she is in canon. The difference is that she's no longer just a girl. (I hate myself over this.)

I’ve been promising this post for a while now. I did a voice actor version some time ago and it was one of my favourite lists to put together. I think you guys enjoyed it too.

As we all know, an actor’s performance can really drag down an anime. There’s something heartbreaking about a painfully wooden performance in the middle of a wonderful story that rips you right out of the fantasy. On the bright side, I’ve seen more than a few characters go from boring to endearing on the strength of an actor’s charisma. Voice actors don’t have as much to work with as conventional actors. They can’t rely on body movements or smouldering looks to get their message across. So it’s doubly impressive when they manage to convey subtle emotion and complex feelings though inflection and tone alone.

And for me, these ladies do just that.

Today let us celebrate the artistry that goes into bringing some of our favourite characters to life. In no real order we have!

5. Aoi Yuuki

I don’t care how petty it sounds, I’m just going to put this right here. This young woman is shorter than me!!! A musician and traditional actress, Aoi unique voice has made her quite successful in the field. Here are a few selected roles out of the tons she has had:

This lady works!

The surprisingly raspy quality of her vocals, and the counterintuitive depth of her tone makes her suitable for a wide range of diverse characters. A small actress with a big voice! Irresistible.

4. Chiwa Saito

Miss Saito has been acting for some time which means she’s had the chance to amass a pretty impressive portfolio. One of my favourite random facts out there, is that she is part of a voice acting groups called “MORE PEACH SUMMER SNOW”. That’s the best name ever. I’m going to rname Buddy that. (His actional name if Sir Buddy Livingston Master Chief Brown). Sadly, she is taller than me.

You can actually hear her sing in some roles and she truly has a beautiful singing voice. It has a rich timber and she obviously has a great ear for melody. If ever she chose to switch career paths to the musical instead, I’m sure she’d have a great future. We would miss her as an actress though so let’s not encourage that!

3. Megumi Hayashibara

A more classical voice actress and one of the best known in Japan, Megumi almost became a nurse instead. There’s a certain personality that goes along with choosing a career in nursing. Caring but also resilient. You can see that peek through a bit in Megumi’s character and acting choice. Then again, there are so many to pick from I could probably make an argument for any character type.

This lady’s body of work speaks for itself. I have to say I was already pretty amazed that spunky, opinionated Faye, with her womanly register and quiet monotone Rei were played by the same person, add in Hell Kitty to the mix and my mind is a little broken…and then you have comedy queen Ranma. This is the type of career you look up to!

2. Romi Park

Did you know that Romi studied Korean in university. I just find that intriguing, obviously she’s always liked languages. Ok I’m beating about the bush so let me just say it, miss Park’s performance was one of the best parts of FMA: Brotherhood for me. I literally caught myself in the middle of scenes just going, OMG the acting is phenomenal. I’ve heard great things about the English language cast but you really are missing ouy if you didn’t catch this performance.

Romi Parks has the most devastatingly emotional voice I know. She often plays calm, cool and collected genius type characters (a lot of boys as you can see) but when an emotional contrast is needed, she really knows how to deliver, making her characters feel so real and raw.  One of the greatest performers in my opinion, she tends to make me want to see a show just to hear what she can do with the character.

Honorable Mentions

Ami Koshimizu

C,mon, she Ryuko from Kill la Kill. Always loved that sexy alto voice! Apparently she was also both Hiro and Naomi in the recent Darling and the Franxx. I loved her as Ibuki in Danganronpa. She was Kallen in Code Geass, Holo in Spice and Wolf and Yuiko in Persona. Obviously I’m skipping over st of her work including some very big roles. I suggest you look her up! The only reason she isn’t on the list proper is that I simply haven’t seen that many of her shows even though a lot are very popular.

1. Megumi Ogata

OK fine so this is a subjective choice. Well they all are really, it’s my top 5 list. Fact is, I’ve been a fan of Megumi Ogata for a long long time and I’m just always going to be. She’s the first voice talent I ever learned about and I absolutely love her work. Sure, she might have voiced a few of my anime crushes but surely that did not influence my choice in any way…. She’s much taller than me.

Megumi Ogata is a revered veteran in the field. Comparing Nagito to Makoto (purposefully similar characters with a lot of very similar lines) will reveal her mastery on inflection and subtle vocalisation to embody a character way beyond their dialogue. Anyone still under the illusion that voice acting is simply reading your lines, please see master Ogata’s work!

Beginnings and Wonders

Okay so I’m so happy you guys love my mermaid AU I’m loving it too. I’ve asked around on which generation of dragons I should use and I’ve gotten multiple boths. Please if you have questions about the AU in general send me some asks I would love to talk about it with you guys.

Zeno huffed as he watched her run up the beach. He was fascinated by the way her hair bounced as she ran. Zeno sighed and slid down the cliff wall. He guessed he should go meet Abi like he promised he would. Zeno watched the smaller fish flit around, he swatted at them. They liked to nip at his fins.

He got up and stretched. He smiled a good thing about him is that he was built for speed.

Zeno made it to their meeting point in ten minutes and out of breath. Abi was perched up on a flat rock, tapping a finger impatiently. His eyes bore through Zeno as zeno gave a small wave.

“Sorry?”

Abi snickered and shook his head, “What are we going to do with you?”

Zeno shrugged.

Abi sighed, “Please please, Don’t get yourself hurt swing that human you’re smitten with.”

Zeno blushed, “I’m not going to.”

“Better not let Jeaha and Shuten find out about your escapades. They’ll want to follow,” Abi warned.

“That would be awful. Jeaha is fluent in human speech as well,” Zeno covered his face at the thought of his older brothers finding out.

Abi motioned, “Come on. Kija and Shinha are waiting on us.”

Abi’s tail was flashy. His eyes even more so. Of course, Abi was somewhat venomous so it made sense. His tail was an intricate pattern of red, yellow, and blue. His eyes were a beautiful yellow. Shinha had the same eyes but he had a smaller build and a simple light and dark blue pattern on his tail.

Zeno had seven brothers and one sister. Of course, they weren’t all related by blood. Kind Hiryuu had a big heart and they all were orphaned at a young age. King Hiryuu’s only blood children were Yakshi, his heir, and Yona. Geun was captain of the guard and Abi was Master of Intelligence. Shuten was in charge of new recruits. Jeaha did his own thing, he explored a lot.

Kija, zeno, and Shinha were fairly young, so their job was to learn and help around the kingdom. Zeno was the best with public relations. So they were training him for that. Kija was in the warrior program and Shinha was Abi’s assistant of sorts.

The other two were waiting near the tunnel that led to the city. Kija had a bulky, white tail with blue stripes down the side and a dorsal fin that got tangled in stuff way too often.

“The prodigal son returns,” Kija teased.

Shinha gave Zeno a warm smile.

Abi sighed, “Come on. Let’s get out of the open. I don’t like to be here when the humans start fishing.”

The three dove into the tunnel. The city was built underground and was lit by glowing crystals. Stone and shells made up the buildings. It made Jeaha and Shuten antsy a lot.

Abi and the others made their way into the castle, which was more like an open forum. Princess Yona was arguing with her brother about something. Zeno smiled as he dove after Abi.

They made their way into the library.

Abi smirked, “Time to get studying.”

Zeno groaned. Kija nodded, a determined look in his eyes.

Kaya laughed as the vendor’s eyes widened at the shell Zeno got her. He paid a wonderful price for it and the others Kaya collected. She walked around town until she made it to the place she was looking for. A loud crash signaled that they were there.

Iksu was upside down and a shelf was knocked over.

“If you are going to knock over a shelf, make sure it doesn’t have anything that can break,” Yun scolded the priest.

Kaya laughed. Yun looked up, bags under his eyes.

“When was the last day you slept,” Kaya asked.

“I think Monday...” Yun grumbled.

“Why,” Kaya asked.

“Found a new headache remedy,” Yun held up a small jar of powder.

Kaya looked in the back room and saw the result of his four all nighters with the many jars.

“Remember, this drug store maybe important but it won’t do any good if your health is impaired,” Kaya scolded.

Iksu nodded, picking up the split contents of the shelf.

“Oh, here is your medicine for your headaches,” Yun handed her the jar with her name on it.

“Thanks Yun what do I owe you,” Kaya asked.

“Nothing. You sewed up a lot of Iksu’s clothes last week so that batch is payment for that.”

“Oh you don’t have-“ Kaya insisted.

“Nope. Work deserves payment, don’t sweat it,” Yun gave a tired smile.

Kaya nodded, “Get some sleep, okay doctor?”

Yun gave her a thumbs up as she walked out of the shop. Kaya finally reached the little house that she rented from her employer. The old oak door was inviting.

It opened up to a small kitchen area where she set her now empty bad and medicine on the counter. She walked into her bedroom where on the desk was a drawing of Zeno. Her bed was huge compared to what she had back on her Hometown but it was simply impossible for her to go back. The shipwreck took all of her money with it. So she was making and saving money here. Her brother was her only family and he didn’t have the means to send her back across the sea.

Plus she had a golden reason to stay. She blushed at his kiss comment again. No one knew about Zeno. When she had mentioned the possibility to Yun, he chuckled and told her she had been listening to the sailors too much. She didn’t want him to get hurt and a mermaid hunt is the last thing Kaya wanted at this point. The house was cold.

Kaya walked over and saw the fireplace had gone and out threw some into the ashes.

Soon the flames kept to life and started reversing the effects of the cold night. She smiled. She did like living on the coast. She had lived inland before and this small town was slowly starting to feel like home.

Plus, once she got back on her feet. She could visit her brother much more easily since they were on the same continent again.

Kaya also wasn’t ready to get back on a boat since the ship wreck. She shuttered at the memory of the storm. Hurricane is what the crew had called it. If it wasn’t for zeno, she would have been done for. Kaya sighed and picked up the writing utensil and started working on the drawing. She couldn’t wait for tomorrow morning to see him again.
