((This was a labor of love, a creation based on an incredible illustration that Armax_Hammer (@capybonara) made during an artstream years ago. I have adored this image for years, and it's been a goal of mine to recreate it in some form as thanks for all the incredible art she's made of my characters.))

((Go give her some love, her art is amazing.

The 3D modeling was 100% completed within Blender, though I used the original artpiece and some SFM modeling to get the pose and proportions right. I learned how to use Blender exclusively so that I could work on this (to the chagrin, no doubt, of every professional Blender sculptor, who would advise beginners to start with something MUCH MUCH simpler). It's probably due to that fact in particular that this took months to complete, not to mention an additional month spent optimizing it for print (to say nothing of the time spent hollowing Dwick's chonkiness out to save cost on material XD).

But man, I have to say - it was absolutely worth it to be able to hold it in the palm of my hand.

V - Which character do you relate to most?

Horizon - I think everyone relates to Aloy at least a little bit (half her chatter in HZD was exactly what I was saying/ thinking in the moment), but I also vibe a lot with Varl, for a variety of reasons.

Mass Effect - Tali’Zorah, probably.

hm, tropes of fandom itself, or tropes that fandom tends to boost?

If it’s the former: ship wars. I’m not even sold on most ships, I definitely don’t want to see people squabbling about them.

If it’s the latter: love triangles, or their more common form the love corner. This is not the kind of drama I enjoy.

On that day, I chose to depict Nos Dwicka Civic Protection's volunteer officer Jorgal Zoar casually annoying Codex (a totally normal cleaning unit that is totally not the covert receptacle for a quarian-patterned artificial intelligence, no sir). Currently Reading: About to start volume 12 in my run through the TMNT IDW Collections. Volume 11 had Triceraton POV in it so I enjoyed that immensely. I continue to enjoy the creative ways they integrate elements from previous TMNT incarnations into their ongoing one. :]

Last Song: The Beast Beneath the Waves... love love love Nolan’s lutren sharkhunter sea shanty, I am still obsessed sorry.

Currently Watching: My Adventures With Superman, and recently started What We Do in the Shadows! Enjoying both so far!

Last movie: Uuuh. It’s actually been a hot minute and I honestly can’t remember. Surely it wasn’t the Netflix Monster Hunter movie...? :S At any rate, I’m trying to push my butt out of the house to watch one of several new movies and haven’t been successful yet.

Currently working on: mostly Western Deep stuff, less fun comic art and more “necessary book-making logistics” type stuff. Also a smattering of fan projects of varying secrecy.

Current Obsession: my brain has actually broken and is attempting to be obsessed with like 4-5 different things at once, which means I’ve actually been way too fractured lately to like... turn around and make anything about it. I can also feel myself self-censoring a bit because I feel so unhinged and random with all this stuff, heheh
