I decided to drop it at chapter 75. The story is so fucking unenjoyable to me. I got burnt out.

the couple: really fantastic if you enjoy devoted knights x their liege. while they begin as a quarrelling bird and master, the personal and romantic development is extremely well written. i appreciated how much both of them shared their screentime/pov’s and took on equally important responsibilities within the narrative

story & setting: it’s a well-grounded historical fiction that eschews fantasy elements (bar the obvious pivotal plot point) in favour of pure military strategy and royal intrigue. without committing to specifics, it’s set somewhere in the early modern period, distinguishing it from the glut of vaguely-romantic and victorian themed rofans. as well, the decision to have the story take place exclusively in military encampments and active battlegrounds forces a lot of unique situations

the art: really fantastic, consistent style that uses digital tools with minimal intrusiveness. this is even more impressive considering this manhwa might contain the highest ratio of horses-per-chapter i’ve ever read. large battles are well-composed and dynamic while character shots are gorgeous and cover a huge variety of delicate moods. also she is the cutest bird protagonist

girl who turned into a messenger hawk plot sounds so cool do you remember which story that was? or where to find it? also on the topic of being turned into an animal for isekai purposes I REALLY hate the mc disregarding the experience entirely for romance. like girlie u were a horse can you tell me what it was like to stand on your toenails with your full bodyweight and how you learned to run like that. nice your bf don’t mind the hay breath tho /j

It's called Cavier/Carrier Falcon Princess! Some of the stuff is really fun, when it focuses on the princess' past lives, political struggles, and her actually getting to deliver messages in the war- I am having a blast. Not all of it is great, some of it is uh dare I say a little strange and not always well written, but it's one of those manga where you just gotta have fun with it.

It's also got a romance so just uh cut me some slack understand it's not great please don't judge me.

but also @ your last sentence if that isn't a MOOD. some of these will have these really interesting concepts like stealing people's lives and changing the entire fabric of reality through one interest and then the focal drama is their romance with the most bland uninteresting man i've ever met. the things i suffer through just because a girl having the ability to transform into a cat in a fantasy world is fun (the vengeful white cat sitting on the dragon king's lap).

Please Marry Me Again! regression- Would probably rate this couple #1 in terms of best love, I was crying by chapter 3, angsty at first but becomes very fluffy, zero toxic masculinity in this ML (the healthiest ML honestly), kinda tan ML, strong FL, supportive brother that doesn’t become incest. season 1 completed

The Duke’s Bored Daughter is My Master reincarnation- three musketeers vibes from leads and supportive brother, honestly immaculate friend group,, childhood friends -> lovers, slowburn, thigh touching lmao. season 1 completed
