"And you think of all of the things you've seen, and you wish that you could live in between-" Carson sang softly to what she had assumed was just the strawberry fields and herself. Ever since she was a child she had found herself drawn to vineyards. At least she had found out pretty early why. "And you're back again.. only different than before.." It wasn't easy being a demigod. It wasn't easy having to leave and become a DeLuca again. Coming back to Camp would always be an adjustment, but at least the strawberry fields were there.

This was not going to end well, he already knew and was prepared for it - well, to the best of his abilities. He didn't really know how to prepare for things that had yet to happen. And if he did say something he'd totally look weird. "I still can't believe we're in the past," he finally said in hopes of changing his thoughts, even by a little.

carson wonders what he did in a past life to deserve this, or maybe he's just a masochist. willing to be hurt in exchange for making sure that his friend was comfortable. the word friend doesn't even fit right in his mouth when he considers the other. there's enough memories and feelings entangled between them that he's not sure they'll ever get out. but carson had to. he had to get out. he had to get out the very day that the other told him he'd gotten engaged over the off-season even when carson thought things were going somewhere. but maybe it was youthful optimism, maybe it was wishful thinking - or he was simply a fool. he should've known. being gay in this career wasn't something that was spoken about. he'd had a couple of boyfriends, the team were respectful but his boyfriend's never stuck around. not when they realised they were always playing second fiddle to a schedule that was rigorous, something that carson had spent his whole life working toward and that's why it worked so well with them. or at least, that's what he'd thought. he's just staring at the book in his lap, he's not even reading it. head lifts when he hears the front door , smiling a little bit as he nods toward viktor. "okay?" he questions quietly , rubbing the back of his arm. even without the way carson felt about the other, he never wanted to see him this upset. it was hard for him, but he did what he always did; pushed his feelings to the side, stuffed them in a box and did what he could to help the other. "you hungry? there's stuff in the oven - just needs heating up." slight smile pulls on the corner of his lips as he tucks his bookmark in between the pages, setting it to the side as he stands up and heads over to viktor.

“just let me sleep for five more minutes,” andrew groans in the pillow. he was doing his best to ignore the sun that was also now stirring him from sleep. he wasn't a morning person – never had been, never will be. it was off season for him now so he didn't have to really be anywhere besides the gym, but andrew didn't have to be there for a few more hours. “i wouldn't be stirring you from your beauty sleep.”

He had just gotten off shift and a part of him was curious as to why there was such a large gap in his memory but he decided against thinking to hard - mainly because he didn't want the headache that came along with it. Going to the local bar, he plopped himself down in his normal seat and ordered a beer as he watched the news on the tv in the corner. "Huh," he said before turning to the other, "don't you feel like there's way more to this story?"

ANNE CARSON STARTER SENTENCES
from "autobiography of red" and "plainwater"
show me yours and i'll give you something good.
facts are bigger in the dark.
that's melodrama, why not have a nice bath.
you were an insomniac, do you remember that?
that isn't a question, it's an accusation.
my heart aches when i'm bad.
i am learning a lot this year of my life.
reality is a sound, you have to tune into it, not just keep yelling.
the reason i'm here is to tell you about my dream.
it's a freedom dream.
secrets save me from dissolving.
dreams give us more than we ask.
i will do anything to avoid boredom.
day after day i think of you as soon as i wake up.
that is how the dead walk.
it spoils your eyes, when you're complaining.
the joy of living is to alter it.
stories end but you have to proceed with the rest of your day.
what is so terrible about stepping off at the end of a story?
your separateness could kill you.
can you punctuate yourself as silence?
spring is always like what it used to be.
i heard you coming after me.
what is sin?
you are mad to mourn alone.
if [they/she/he] had loved me, [they/she/he] would've seen me.
i don't love you enough to do this.
i feel so lonely, like childhood again.

He was on his way out of work, wanting to just go home and collapse on his bed for the night. Yawning, he went to make a turn and ran right into someone. “Shi-” he breathed, stumbling back, “are you okay? Jesus I am super clumsy I am so sorry”

After thoroughly flouncing around the flower shop and naming all five types of flowers he could identify by eye to Aubrey, Mack still had a single red rose in his hand when their slow trail through the store brought him directly in front of a curious looking sign up sheet.
"Aubrey," He beckons, twirling the rose in the general direction he thinks she is like he might conjure her from thin air.
"Look at this."

it was agonizingly impossible for tate to reign himself back to morality at this rate, especially when he had caught sight of that tight body of hers dressed up in that outfit of hers. any man who breathed in this planet would've had difficulties doing so themselves, or at least that was the excuse he tells himself when he catches the two of them finally alone. not a single word was said when he stands close to her with his hand reaching for that dainty counterpart, holding onto it with such purpose as he guides her to the noticeable bulge on his denim jeans. his larger fingers would have her mold her own to grip onto that appendage of his, a sharp breath taken as if that relieve some of the ache that he felt. "this is all your fault. can you feel what you did to me?" tate speaks up, shaking his head in disappointment despite the grin that forms upon his lips. "think you should be taking full responsibility to take care of this for me, don't you, sweetheart?"

“Here, love. Let me see…” he murmurs softly, giving the person in front of him a gentle smile. He might have been off work and on the mainland running errands for once, but someone was hurt. No matter if he was busy or not, he’d always put his own plans on hold to help someone in need.
Slipping his backpack off his shoulder, Carson knelt down to pull out a small first aid kit. “I’m a doctor. I can help you. Please?”
He looked so genuine as he spoke, keeping a safe distance between them so the other person could decide if they trusted him or not. The last thing he wanted to do was make them uncomfortable as he was trying to help them.

"I used to be young." Carson retorted, laughing. You used to be fun. The other had said. And they weren't wrong. Carson had been throwing ragers by 13. But eventually a bitch had to get sober after using and abusing drugs for years. Not that most knew that, most didn't even know that the child of Dionysus couldn't get drunk, much less become an addict before she was 15.
"I'll roll you a J still if you want," she teased.

He chewed on his nail as he wondered what to do next. Not only was Triad making their presence known but they were sending a message to those who doubted how strong said presence was. So, maybe it was him lost in thought, or maybe his headphones were too loud but either way the tapping on his shoulder caused him to jump before taking his airpod out. "Hey, hi," he said, looking up at them, "what's up?"

“SO LIKE, how does it work with your powers?” he asked curiously. “do you just shoot magical arrows at people and then make them fall in love?” he figured that that was what her abilities were like. “can i have a go?” he beamed, nearly bouncing in his seat. “like i wanna try aiming for a couple of people and watching them fall in love!”

" hi stranger ... " carson speaks softly , wetting his lower lip . he's just hoping that they remember him .
