I think if you watch Carol and the end if the workd and have questions/concerns/thoughts about how the show does/does not engage with scarcity (like not just being poor but living in food and medical deserts etc.) i thibk thats pretty fair and valid

But some of the comments about like? How the show is imolying a shadow economy of forced labor or doesn’t engage with class dynamics at all or that its inherently bourgeois to depict a contemporary post-money hedonistic society or that its classist to depict people traveling or going to the beach (again. Both things the show is very very explicit about. Like genuinely a huge theme of the show is how capitalism alienates people *from themselves* so that even in a scenario where capitalism and scarcity HAVE been abolished and everyone is going to DIE in 7 months there is still a significant population of people so deeply impacted and traumatized by capitalism that they are compelled to ritualistically recreate the aesthetic conditions OF capitalism [sending off bills to be paid even if there isn’t anyone collecting them anymore, waking up at 6am everyday to go to an office for 8 hours, etc.])

The decadent cruise is a disaster BECAUSE part way through the crew starts to realize that working on a cruise doesn’t make them happy it’s just what they’re *used* to and that they actually have no greater obligation to any of these passengers then they do to themselves and even though the cruise people suffer as a result the show still frames this as an inarguable and explicit unfortunate consequence of an inherently noble and good act.

No. Actually i was not under the impression that the multiple abandoned restaurants, military run-but-still-decrepit grocery stores, “this little boy is believed to have the last hershey bar in the world” news article and empty gas stations we see people picking through are indicative of a world where global food trade is active and global farmers are producing cashcrop for suppliers 3 months after money stops being valued or accepted anywhere on earth.

These documentaries show how both genders are exploited by simply withholding the information they’re entitled to in order for them to make informed, and self-empowering, decisions to further their own autonomy, as the institutions shown in these footages benefit financially, and in many other ways, from their exploitation. The continuous, and clearly systematic, abuse of those persons is facilitated simply because their deprivationnis lucrative to someone Else, who makes a Living from reproducing them as Human cashcrop. The drugdealer profits, the church profits through taxation, every other public institution profits simply by exploiting both genders and keeping them disempower through threat, displacement and rape. The guys from Achimota, Airport, DC, Osu, Labone, Tesano sports club, Kinsby, North Kaneshie and Kokomlekmle are the same gees you meet everywhere for events - Aviation social centre, Source hiphop connection, Evolution, Playback, Connextions, Vanity, Twist, Recognize and here (on this blog). In class one tongue, "Accra is too small for any unknown newness".

What im saying is... I know ANAS and they are not what Ghanaians think: not a one man show, not boys-boys, not the guy from university of Ghana or the girl from Ghana institute of journalism!! You won't believe the truth till you see the next exposé.

"Does it matter who ANAS is, what they do or their personal lives ?". "Is the messenger important or the message?". My point is ANAS is not an individual but a group and if you didn't know then follow me.

Ghanaians want to believe in something so bad an edited picture of me and CEO A-côté collections will become a trend.
