So my niece favorite thing to do is to play roblox so we like to call and play roblox together. One time as we were doing this I asked her if her baby brother was walking yet and if they can play hide and seek together. She said no, she probably can't until he's 5. I go "how old are you gonna be when he's 5?" She goes 8, I say "no when your 8 he will be 1." She retorts back oh I'll be 9. I say "no baby, he will be 5 in 4 years, you're 7. What's 4 plus 7?" She goes OH!! like she got it and blurts out ILL BE 10! I laughed so hard I died in the game.

at avengers parties everyone loves doing body shots off steve

I love love LOVE the thought of Steve being so much more hardcore at parties and clubs than anyone could have predicted. Like hoarding a bottle of Asgardian mead and promptly draping himself across Tony, Bucky, and Sam. Making out with at least four of the avengers, then stripping off his shirt and dancing on a table. Grinding on Clint on the dancefloor, then double dog daring Bucky to do a body shot off of him that then leads to all the Avengers doing body shots off of him. And all the others are simultaneously in shock and wholly delighted to see this side of Steve, minus Bucky (who's known Steve since forever and knows he's Like This), who's mostly just fondly exasperated (but 100% goes back for seconds on body shots).

Just... thinking about Cassie and her bees, ya know?

And uh... I really, really like the concept of Cassie referring to herself and her bees as us and we. I have no real (canon) reason for this idea, I just think it's neat.

Like, they're psychically linked, and she feels so close to these little creatures of hers that they (her and the bees) kinda become a singular entity in her mind, occasionally, especially at the times when their opinions or goals are closely in sync. When she was alone in the Gulch there was probably alot of that, this sort of melding, and even post-canon I imagine she'd be more prone to it– to slipping into the plural to describe self.

Just... because she's spent so long with the bees, all alone besides their company, and with both her and the bees completely wrapped up in this shared goal of protecting Cassie (protect the Queen! Protect the Hive!) It just makes sense for them to think of themselves as a unit, with the bees being an extension of herself and her will, and Cassie being an extension of the bees and their will. I wanna get into the nitty gritty of psychic connections and how a link like this might work, how it might affect the psychic doing the linkage and what they're linking to, how there's probably feedback (not to mention factoring in that the bees are psychic, too), but this is meant to be a short post, so maybe later.

Anyway, I just think it'd be neat. Like, imagine the first time someone asks her (her, singularly her) a question and she responds by saying, "We think that's a great idea!"

And the other person's like... "Uh... We?"

Shanspeare’s video about tomboys got me thinking about Cassie. She was a perfect representation of a “tomboy”, but like all tomboys they have them grow out of their “tomboy phase”. I think it’d be wonderful if DC would let Cassie go back to her short hair and pants self. Let her own it. Not all female superheroes have to be feminine. Let at least one be a “tomboy”. Anyways I 100% recommend the video.

It's 3am, and here I am thinking about Cassie's archetypes.

More specifically about the Librarian. Out of Cassie's 4 main archetypes, we get very clear indicators of when they likely first appeared for two of them (the Counterfeiter and the Author). Very specific real life circumstances, in which survival is essential.

For the other two, the Teacher and the Librarian, the circumstances are a lot less clear cut. At no point is there any event referenced that might suggest when or why they were created. The Librarian evidently takes over Cassie's mindscape post battle with Maligula, but we can assume that at that point she already exists– the Psychic 7's loss, as devastating as it is, was not the catalyst for the Librarian's creation.

At this point, I'd like to suggest a theory. We aren't offered an explanation for why the Teacher and the Librarian came about in-game because unlike the other two, there isn't one. At least not one that can be summed up neat and tidy. The Counterfeiter and the Author came about because of outside forces, something happened in Cassie's life and she had to respond. I think the Teacher and the Librarian were responses to internal struggles, instead. Let's focus in on the Librarian for a moment.

Cassie's brain is represented primarily as a library. Her archetypes are represented by books, and presumably her memories are as well. The Librarian is, at the point Raz finds her, focused on wrangling the other archetypes in an attempt to get Cassie's mind in order. Bit of an assumption, but I do assume this was the Librarian's job before, keeping the books tidy, and that the most recent events have just made her hyperfocused on rounding up the other archetype's books specifically. Okay, so books likely equal thoughts, and the Librarian, as curator of the library, is likely tasked with keeping them organized.

At this point I would like to suggest that the Librarian is tied to Cassie's ability to compartmentalize. She's in charge of the books. She keeps things tidy, and chooses what thoughts need to be explored and what needs to be locked away for a later date. When Cassie was in a more healthy mindset, before the Psychonauts and before she isolated herself, the Librarian was an integral part of the way her mind functioned. The Librarian kept Cassie on task, and helped her recognize what was important. I like to think the Librarian first appeared because Cassie was overwrought, and she needed to be able to compartmentalize so she could handle things one step at a time, so she created the Librarian to help her do that.

Perhaps the Librarian was Cassie's first archetype? That would add more credence to the Librarian's earlier belief that she was the real Cassie. Of course she would think so, she was the OG, after all. None of those fake posers that came after know where it's at.
