Note
So, I just started reading Casting Rain and if you don't mind me asking, are Grillby and Gaster dating in the later chapters? I haven't gotten to those parts yet, but from what I'm seeing, it's heavily implied.
No, in Casting Rain they remain friends. At most you could say they're in a QPR, but it's not something that's ever established in the plot. I was really big on them being in a loving relationship that wasn't dating/romantic when I wrote the story.
There is definitely subtext there if you want to read them as in a relationship/dating, and they hit some of the hallmarks [hand holding, saying they love each other, risking life and limb for each other, etc.] but they never get shipped in the plot.

Tumblr media
Grillbys smoke acting as a frame divider
Tumblr media
this big river in the background is for chapters 31 and 32, not the bridge scene
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
ice necklace having a lil red in it as described in chapter 80
Tumblr media
Grillbys bloody sword (f in the chat for Rowan) -> veeery subtle sword shape in the sky with red stars + ice spear with blue stars (chapter 63 reference)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
the scar on Thetis's throat is the only scar on either her or Amathea that was actually described in the fic as far as i can remember (chapter 36)
Tumblr media
there was supposed to be a drawing here. totally didn't just forget to draw it..... please pretend that it's there to represent the white void of the mind control spell. totally intentional
Tumblr media
aside from the "darkness exists to make light mean something to people" line from Ammy's letter the stars here are also a reference to the Stars After the War fic

BLACK SWAN
Part 3 of Macaw (Grimm horror story)
Tumblr media
11:46 pm
Time froze as the kids stared in wonder at the colorful spectacle of the macaw flock as the sun set behind them, casting them . a golden ethereal glow. The sounds as wings took their powerful beats raised their spirits.
Dhruva felt like he was levitating and becoming one of them. It was like a dream, like they could lay down to rest on soft feathery clouds and get swept away into the sky. Then he heard a low ringing in his ear. Daya fell down. Then Chinna fell down. Then Dhruva blacked out.
He woke up with an overwhelming sense of dizzyness. The room was filled with the smell of bile and iron, making him instantly choke on his own tongue and fall to the ground gagging. After a few moments of getting used to it he looked around desperately for any other of the children. He immediately went to wake up Chinna and Daya but he noticed quickly they were all trapped behind bars. And Zilla was missing.
Steel bars blocked them off at every side and the only light source came from the scattered oil lamps on the walls. As his eyes got used to the low lighting he could see rows upon rows of cages with children in them. Children walking around aimlessly, children breaking into fits of cries and desparate callings, some children lying down motionless. There was no telling how long they had ben locked up.
Chinna soon woke up, coughing in the bitter air, and asked him in pure confusion "Where are we?
"I don't know, Chinna." Dhruva replied.
I feel sick, when can we go home? I want ammi!" Chinna whined and hugged him. It hurt in his heart to see the Chinna so distressed. He stroked his the curls on his little brother's head trying to calm him down.
He looked around and noticed Narii had got up and was crouching right in front of the cage bars. Speaking to someone. Dhruva tried to make out the shadowy figure. "Who are you, how did you get here?"
A small voice replied.
"Who... what..."PLEASE STAY!!"
Suddenly it came rushing out into the feignt lamplight and desperately reached out with it's thin arm. The child had no eyes.
"AAH- AAH-"
The three boys jumped from their fear and backed up into the corner of their cage.
Narii came to hold the scared child's hand.
"Shh, shhh" Her eyes widened but she kept her composure and reassured the child with a soft voice.
"It's okay, those boys are just my family and friends. You seem lonely, she took her other hand and lightly wrapped both around his, my name is Narii."
"I'm... Dhaari."
He was not very tall, maybe about Chinna's height but it was hard to tell his real age from the lack of babyfluff.
"Oh, but that rhymes!" She exclaimed, both of them chuckled a little from hearing the welcome coincidence.
"Look what pretty birds came out to play after the rains."
An alluring female voice came from the top of the stairs and Daya pulled back Narii at the last second.
They hadn't heard the door open and they hadn't noticed someone walking down the stairs to the cellar.
The person, seemingly meshed with the sealing, was now standing above them. She held up a dimly lit lantern with her left hand and at the same time her inhumanly tall proportions contracted as she slowly lowered her body. With one click she tilted her cloaked head towards them.
Before Dhruva even saw the features on her face she croaked out a shrill sound that bit their ears like chalk on a blackboard and spun around with impossible speed, slamming Dhaari's cage with something heavy, making the boy scream and cower.
The halls grew quiet as she unlocked the cage and pulled out one of the children inside. It was a girl.
The girl's eyes met with Dhruva's. In a split second they widened until the whites touched every side of her iris. She did not let go fighting the whole way she was dragged by her arm and she got what was coming. With a strike to her side she tumbled to the other edge if the chorridor and slammed into the pavement, shaking to try and get up. Banging on the door that she did not have the keys to. The cloaked demon grabbed her by the shoulder, digging deep with what seemed to be claws and the girl went limp, willingly being led to the outside.
11:45 pm
Dhruva's eyes met the eyes of the Black Swan and they held him there for a solid five seconds. Enough to plant the seeds of doubt in his mind.
Was he just discovered? Was it a look of contempt? A look of surprize? A look of dissapointment?
It made Dhruva insane.
11:50 pm
The girl had ben swallowed by the forest and was not making a single sound, confusing them as to where she was.
Then came the smell of smoke and the sound of a blade being drawn from it's sheath. The girl's screams pierced their eardrums and made their nerves writhe in terror. No one blinked or breathed. They all stared down at the dark floor as they pictured the horrible images in their minds. They couldn't help but feel their guilt and helplessness eat them up fom the inside.
The worst part happened in the middle of all this chaos. The girl gasped and then came a loud "crack". The sound of the bone breaking echoed through the cabin and her screams exploded into a melody of pure agony.
Dhruva keeled over in a spasm, hulking at the mere vision in his mind and puking anything he had left in his belly.
The witch chanted maniacally;
"The wail of a deer,
The rasp of a raven,
The howl of a wolf"
When silence came over them they could feel their hearts beating in their throats and their heads rung with fear Narii put a hand over her mouth and for the first time that night she let a teardrop fall to the floor.

RRR Fics Masterlist
(listed from oldest to newest)
1. Shahadat - Shahadat. To Witness. Shahadat. Martyrdom. Why is a mother helpless in the face of both. (Akhtar's ammi's POV during Komuram Bheemudo) (1,077 words)
2. A Matter Of Mercy - Bheem actually managed to run away with Malli on the day of his hanging. But he is only human. Who healed him just enough to give him another chance at freedom? A missing scene between guilt-ridden Ram and unconscious Bheem in the aftermath of the flogging. (1,813 words)
3. An Afternoon In London - What became of Jenny and Bheem eventually? What became of their great love? A story set in 1982. (3,478 words)
4. Too Much Mugwort - Ram and Bheem have a quiet moment after the dust settles, in the aftermath of their fight against Scott's forces. Bheem is consumed with guilt over Ram's condition after his imprisonment. He intends to make amends. And the first thing on his mind is getting some food into his dear friend. (3,180 words)
5. A Pattern Cast Twice - Can Jenny learn to love again? Will the memory of Bheem chase her like a ghost for the rest of her life? A companion piece to my story An Afternoon In London. (1,944 words)
6. A Different Kind Of Love - What if Bheem is unable to save Ram? What becomes of him? Of Ram's promise to bring guns to his village? And most importantly, What becomes of Seetha? (5,516 words)
7. Testimony - Poetry speaks where prose falls short of words. My small tribute to the countless heroes of the revolution who made untold sacrifices to bring an end to the colonial occupation of my country. (97 words)
8. The Date From Hell - Bheem was very lucky that Ram agreed to come with him to the party at the Gymkhana Club. However, what would have happened had he gone there alone? (4,626 words)
9. The Road To My Home - Ram's thoughts and yearning to someday return to his home. But Home is not such a simple concept for a living martyr like him. (182 words)
10. Parallel Lines - The love between Bheem and Jenny may have begun with simple human attraction and appreciation of each other's kindness and gentleness. However, something fundamentally changed after Bheem's flogging. To him, she would forever be a goddess that he wouldn't bring down to his level where only suffering and injustice exist. To her, he is no less than the God that suffers and dies for the sins of those who call him their savior and redeemer. (309 words)
11. A Son Called Akhtar - Bheem found a beautiful family in Delhi who took him in as their own and loved him with all their heart. How did he become so important to them? How did Komaram Bheem, a child of the Gond tribe, become Akhtar, the cherished son of a Muslim family in Delhi? (5,225 words)
12. A Ballad Of Few Words - A poem about the revolutionary ideals and stories of Komaram Bheem and Alluri Seetha Rama Raju. And of course, their epic friendship as imagined by the movie. (174 words)
13. Twelve Hours - Written for the prompt Bheem/Jenny X Rain (Bheem and Jenny spend some time together in Hyderabad while he is there for some errands) (3,009 words)
14. I Will Bring You Home (Work in Progress)- Bheem may have suffered a setback with his arrest and his flogging. But he is not one to give up. He will get Malli home. However, the process of going home is long. The road to home is dangerous. The risk of failure is great. A story in which Bheem pushes the limits of human endurance to bring Malli home. Along the way, he becomes her emotional rock, her teacher, and a storyteller. Along the way, he saves Ram and exorcizes his demons. Along the way, he gives so much of himself that one day, his reserves of strength finally run out. (9,367+ words)
15. The Friend (Work in Progress)- Lacchu's injuries, while less severe than Bheem's, end up getting infected. And because they are on the run, they are unable to save him. Bheem is unaware that the man who tortured and hurt Lacchu is Ram himself. When Bheem reveals that he feels broken because Lacchu died on his watch, Ram admits that he was the one responsible for Lacchu's death. Bheem feels no anger for what Ram did to him. But the thought of what happened to Lacchu is too much for him. Can he forgive Ram? Can their friendship survive the bitterness of this truth? (9,589+ words)
16. The Promise Of Eternity - Jenny and Bheem live together in Adilabad. Bheem does everything in his power to keep Jenny happy. Why, then, won't he allow her to do the same for him? (3,894 words)
17. How To Kill A Poet - Bheem may not know the English language. But that does not stop him from being a poet. What fate do poets meet in a world not built for them? Or Ram takes Bheem to the house of a courtesan. (6,683 words)
18. The Scholar - What if Ram decided to not give Bheem a chance to run away? What if Malli was actually forced to witness the execution of her anna? Would she still find her way home? A story in which Malli struggles with loss and living in the absence of Bheem's protective aura. And Ram cannot run from the consequences of his actions forever. (7,536 words)
19. Tales Of The Tigerrr Celebrrration Fic in collaboration with @stars-in-the-distance - In April and May 2023 we held an event on Tumblr and challenged creators to create many new artworks, fanfics, poetry and other works celebrating Bheem. To thank all the creators, we have written a celebratory fic with references (and links) to ALL the created works. It's a romantic fic about Bheem growing old and looking back on his life and remembering all the good and bad memories that have been part of it (Part 1). An alternate universe in which everything turned out alright. Since Bheem is shipped with either Jenny or Ram, the fic has two different endings (Part 2). A big thank you to all the creators, this one is for you! (10,551 words)
20. Sanctuary - Bheem and Jenny finally get to enjoy their relationship. Having dealt with so many ups and downs, it is only fair that they get a chance to experience the beauty and blessings of life as well. There is one last remaining obstacle in their path. In this story, they will overcome that as well. But like all things in their lives, it won't be without its own unique challenges. Warning- The second chapter deals with Bheem's time in police custody, between his arrest and the flogging. That section is heavy and angsty. Approach with caution. But, the ending of the fic is happy. Not bittersweet like my usual. It is happy! (13, 823 words)
Tumblr-Only Works
21. On Treachery - Bheem's POV on Ram's betrayal. A poem.
22. Some Days - Ram and his relationship with Delhi. For the prompt Ram X Rain.
23. The Toy - Catherine Buxton's thoughts on a variety of things including Bheem and a prized possession that she is proud of. For the prompt Catherine Buxton X Toy.
24. Saccharine - Jenny's mettle as she settles into her new life in Bheem's village. Written for the prompt Bheem/Jenny X Saccharine.
25. Fire and Water (Moodboard + ficlet)- Prompt: Don't tell me about how a fire met another fire. Tell me about how a fire met the water and how they didn't end up destroying each other.
26. A Song Of Seetha - Love as devotion when time carries nothing but the message of its own passing. A poem. For the prompt Ram/Seetha X Rain.

i’m rereading “Casting Rain” by @silverskye13 again, it’s one of those fics that will always bring out my emotions. it’s definitely my comfort read and honestly i feel most at home when i’m reading it. I believe i had first come across their story a couple years back and i immediately was attached, I remember reading everything for the first time and as i continue to reread it those emotions haven’t dulled. Even if you aren’t into Undertale, the story is worth your time. i promise
i had tried to capture Grillby moments after being snubbed by Ruke when they meet. i messed up in a few areas but overall thought i did good color wise considering this was my first actually attempt at it.
i’m not great at drawing, not to mention coloring, but i’ve never actually tried to draw something for this story. that’s one of my goals for this next year, to improve my artistic abilities so i can give back to the authors that have given us so much.

Like, I drew a Grillster thing forever ago, and then yester day my brain was like "No, don't sleep, you have to draw more casting rain, lol" and i'm like "kinda tired ngl, but okay i guess".
I have much casting rain but nothing else is finished atm so this is all you get. I'm not a super fan of this one, but like, whatever. I also can't seem to get over Grillby having lots of colors so ummmm....
So like the whole Idea for the first one was like, the moment (spoilers) Ammy dies, which is by far the worst chapter ever. :(
Gehenna is cool tho
GUYS READ CASTING RAIN PLEASE IT'S SO GOOD
oh and then there's the little sketch thing thats like, hardly even Grillby but I call CR Grillby bc I was thinking of him when I drew it.

Rukhsat
It was a hot and dry summer and the monsoon had been poorer than the poorest of the villager. The days were torturous and the night came to no respite. Little Imran lay his head on Ammi’s lap as she fanned him with her dupatta. Daadi lay beside them, motionless......years of perpetual toil had made her look older than she was, and it seemed as if she now lacked he last bit of energy to make it through another year of struggle. A few lanes away, under the old banyan tree, the men, including Imran’s Abbu, sat discussing another year of failed crops.
“Ammi, how far are the stars?”, asked Imran, looking at the clear, cloudless sky.
“Farther than the moon!!!”,replied Ammi, smiling for the first time since she saw her husband break down this evening when he came back from the fields.
“Farther than Fatehpur? Remember that Ali who came to our place for Eid last year? He is going to Fatehpur!”, chirped Imran.
“So when do you plan a Rukhsat for him, Jaan?”, asked Ammi.
“Rukh-sat.....Ammi, what’s rukhsat?”, questioned Imran, now getting up from Ammi’s lap to face her. The new word lit his eyes with curiosity!
“It’s a.....” “GET IN EVERYBODY!!!!!!!!!”- and before Ammi could explain anything, she heard men on horseback, galloping about......then came the noise of a gunshot!!! Men ran through the lanes, fire lit torches in their hand. Yes, it was the dacoits, yet again. There seemed to be no end to it-first the monsoon failed-then the crops-the farmers became poor-the poor went to bed hungry-the hungry sought to thievery to survive-the victims of thievery, themselves poor farmers, got poorer........either poverty killed him or the gunshot....both the ways, he died!
As Ammi rushed inside, she held Imran in one arm and supported Daadi with the other. “Yeh le beta....aa gaye rukhsat ke pal kisi gareeb kisaan ke liye! (See child, it’s time to bid farewell to on of our poor farmers!)”, Daadi said as she reclined back on a soggy pillow inside their dimly lit kutcha house.
Days passed....months did.....the monsoon went by.....or better still, sneaked by....none saw it come, none saw it go!! The men killed themselves on dark, cloudless nights.......else, got killed by dacoits.....seldom were the nights when the entire village slept in peace and no house wailed through the night for the loss of the sole breadwinner.
And then one day, it happened.......
It was late in the evening and the summer sun was about to set....Abbu hadn’t returned back from the farm. Ammi had just put two hot chapatis with some salt and was now running after Imran to feed him! The dinner plate got blander and blander as poverty hit them harder. They could no longer afford vegetables or dal! Many a days, only Daadi and Imran ate their meals.
Just when Ammi managed to put the first bite of the chapati in her son’s mouth, a fellow neighbor came rushing towards her....breathless and panting, he uttered three words.....the world shook under Ammi’s feet. At once, everything fell to a standstill- Imran no longer ran about, Daadi stopped fanning herelf, the birds stopped their evening hymns......and dark clouds, yes, CLOUDS....hid the moon, casting eerie shadows all around!
“Baaji.....Shauhar.....khudkhushi.....” (Sister....husband.....suicide.....)
The grief was too deep for Ammi to explain things to Imraan. The little boy however walked up to his mother....
“Ammi, Abbu left? Didn’t you ask him to wait for his Rukhsat? I would have brought him the same pink flowers that I got for Ali.....speak na Ammi!!!!”, said Imran shaking his mother for a reply.
Ammi looked up to him....and hugged him tight as the little boy sobbed in his mother’s arms.
That night, the sky grew darker and darker....and then, as if giving in the the grievances of the poor, the stubborn monsoon let it....and it rained!!!!!!!! It rained all night.....the trees swayed, the fields rejoiced, the cracking land quenched its thirst....and the drought celebrated its Rukhsat as the rain took over.....

"We thought for sure she would have us killed or imprisoned. After all, we hadn't just been attacking humans, had we? We'd been tearing up monster settlements as well.
But she didn't. She looked at us, all holy fire and tired wrath, and she spared us."
- Amathea, chapter 35
