December 18th, 2022. I wouldn't remember were it not for Discord timestamps lmao I had accidentally double-dosed on my antidepressants and was weeping tears of love and joy over the fucking Claymore being in Elden Ring while I was mid-shift at work

No. Don't really plan to either, not on my budget, and given I was crying over a sword in a videogame barely a month ago I don't think I'm mentally fit for one either lmao

Usually either their hair or clothes tbh, I'm faceblind as shit lmao

Idk either brown or green, depending on the light

Idk honestly I love the horror genre but my tastes are so insane, weird, and specific that I also don't love a huge chunk of the horror genre and would prefer like, literally anything else Also I'm just a sucker for characters being happy, so sue me I like that things can work out alright as long as the story preceding it isn't boring lmao

8. - Any special talents?

I'm surprisingly good at playing music on like, small things that play notes that it isn't super expected to actually play music on, like how I used to be able to play the tetris theme on my mother's old cell phone keypad when I was like 12, or how I can play Unwelcome by Arsis on the Warframe Shawzin now

I used to be able to play the intro to Through The Fire And The Flames on Big Band's trumpet in Skullgirls back when I played that, but it's been a while and I'm pretty certain all my muscle memory for that game's long gone lmao

Art, making stupid little tunes in Beepbox.co, fighting my friends with swords (highly recommend), Whatever you call the Fromsoftware Souls Game Brainrot that possesses you and makes you do co-op forever, loving it deeply and never tiring of it @mutuals I am begging you to play Elden Ring with me PLEASE Making music with instruments and my voice outside of Beepbox.co (though admittedly I've been having more fun goofing off with Beepbox lately lmao)

I don't play sports, but I have an interest in fencing, though idk how well I'd play with not only a light whippy sword (I'm a longsword kinda person at heart) as well as having a sword restricted to only one hand (again, I'm a longsword kinda person at heart)

idk like 6'3 I think? (Don't let my sister lie to you, she keeps telling everyone I'm 6'4 and I can't make her stop)

14. Favourite subject in school?

I barely remember school at all tbh but the student councilor also ran a creative writing class that was rad as hell, though I don't remember more than like three things that happened in it over the two years I was taking it lmao I also remember liking art class, but I was so bad with rules I'm kinda surprised I passed lmao, I just doodled whatever the fuck every day and the teacher was just like "Yeah sure, this'll do" and passed me lmao

15. Dream job?

Tbh Daisuke Ishiwatari is already living my ideal career path and I haven't thought of anything else I really want to do yet

That's a lie I just like, really deeply want to be in a shitty metal band made up of friends that tours in a van who doesn't sound all that great but you can tell is just pouring their fucking hearts out up there and so you kinda forgive them because the performance is just so raw even if the technical skill isn't great and there may be some issues with the faulty electronics and at least one of them hasn't changed their strings in like four years but they sound good they love what they do and they're easy to headbang too so like, what more do you need, really?

1- Are you named after anyone?

As far as I know, no. No idea where they got the idea to use this very uncommon name, tho.

2. - When was the last time you cried?

Oh boy 😅 Around the holidays (which for me ended about Jan 7th), the end & start of the year is a bad time for me, I always get melancholic and depressed (which in turn makes me writer blocked too), and after that I had a couple family gatherings that were stressful, so... yeah, I was a pressure cooker of stress, sadness, and not wanting to bother anyone with it.

3. - Do you have kids?

Gods, no. Don't have them and don't plan to have them, either.

4. - Do you use sarcasm a lot?

Idk man, you tell me 🤷

5. - What's the first thing you notice about people?

General appearance, I guess? After all, we all notice first with our eyes. However, the thing I do pay the most attention to during a first meeting is attitude, and the vibes I get from someone (and hopefully, getting clues on how to interact with them)

6. - What's your eye colour?

Brown.

7. - Scary movies or happy endings?

What a silly dichotomy, I like both! Not at the same time tho, I like my horror to be bleak and depressing/have bad endings. But otherwise I love happy endings.

8. - Any special talents?

Uh... I tend to notice flaws/holes in logic pretty easily? Idk, I feel like being a critic is not a special talent tho 😂 Hmm, oh I got one! Despite being fat I can apparently be unnoticed quite often, like sit somewhere in the middle of a room and just keep quiet (and not move) and people don't seem to notice I'm there. Then I suddenly talk and I startle people :p

9. - Where were you born?

On a hospital, like most people.

10. What are your hobbies?

Writing, playing videogames, reading, listening to video essays about almost anything, watching movies & series, bothering my cat.

Ah, so this is where I had to mention my cat, not the above question, gotcha 😂

None. As a kid, I used to swim, but despite the horrible swimming caps, the wet hair made me get sick a lot during winter.

No idea, tbh I'd be over the moon with something that pays decently, isn't incredibly time consuming, and I don't absolutely hate. So, something that has no customer service in it I suppose 😂

1. Why did you choose your url?  

It’s pretty much my artist alias everywhere for now. The story behind this one is that I could never decide on anything to call myself on the internet, and since I was getting more and more into art, something had to be done. I sat down and asked myself what really spoke to me, and when I finally came up with the name “CatfacedCryptid”, I pictured a creature with the body of a human and a lovecraftian, ever changing amalgamation of shapes and colours as a head, which was supposed to symbolize my issues with yet at the same time acceptance of change and self image. Then, to poke fun, I imagined that people who were to happen upon this creature would be so unable to categorize it, they’d just go “Yea, it vaguely looks like a cats head!”

2. Any side blogs? if you have them, name them and why you have them.  

I do, it’s mostly used for reblogging memes, news and things I find interesting. @catfacedvampire

3. How long have you been on tumblr?

5. Why did you start your blog in the first place?  

I started my first blog for art, memes and fandom. Then I finally made this one for the sole purpose of art, more or less at least.

6. Why did you choose your icon/pfp?  

It’s from a piece that I was proud of, and the character in it used to be loosely based on me!

7. Why did you choose your header?  

Again, because I was proud of it and because it just seemed to be fitting as a header.

- Are you named after anyone?

Probably not. The only thing I know, apparently my name was my parent's third choice and a compromise. The first name my dad suggested got rejected by my mum because she thought with that name I would get bullied in school. Dad's second naming idea then was "too common/widespred" for her taste. In the end they decided on a first name sounding somewhat similar to the "Commoner" and the "bully magnet" got turned into my midddle name. (I love my parents :D)

2. - When was the last time you cried?

That's how I woke up on January 1st! I've suffered an injury in late December that made breathing painful and on that morning I kinda panicked about it (which made the pain even worse hell yeah)

3. - Do you have kids?

No. And not in nearby future.

4. - Do you use sarcasm a lot?

Probably not as much as I used to but when I'm with my friends I like me some sarcastic remark.

5. - What's the first thing you notice about people?

Highly dependable on the situation. I'm bad at quickly remembering names and faces of people I'm not too often around. Sometimes I'm better at recognizing people by the sound of their voice (if they have a more unique sounding voice / a certain speech pattern etc). My face memory works only if I think stuff like "Hey that would be an interesting face to draw!"

6. - What's your eye colour?

Blue. The greyish kind.

7. - Scary movies or happy endings?

Scary movies. If I want happy endings I read fix-it-fics.

8. - Any special talents?

Really loud tongue clicking.

9. - Where were you born?

Germany.

10. What are your hobbies?

Drawing, reading and collecting books and comics, researching trivial historic facts, long walks on cemetries (I can explain), theater, visiting museums and galeries, disco-style dancing (which I'm still not allowed to do for at least another week ;w;)

11. Have ypu any pets?

Not at the moment. Our family cat of 12 years sadly passed away in June and none of us is over it.

I used to do fencing for seven years. Currently considering to start with it again. I'm also trying to get into basic gymnastics.

Between 1, 76 - 1, 77 m

History, German, Art, Psychology.
