Reims-Cessna R172H Skyhawk by Vintage Cars & People
Via Flickr:
A dapper fellow posing with a red and white Cessna. His apparel – a double-breasted pilot's uniform complete with rank insignia and cap – wouldn't look out of place on the flight deck of a Boeing 747. The aircraft appears to be registered in Germany. Country of origin: Germany
the reason i'm always planespotting isn't just because i think airplanes are cool. it's also a practical matter of personal safety. if the police cessna is circling your position, it's probably time to leave or at least move to a more public location where the cops can't cover up shooting you in the back for two years
Preassembly prep work is probably one of the more important parts of the engine builds. Unlike most bigger shops, we do a lot of our processes by hand, like lapping crankcase halves. It’s tedious at times but overall really adds to the longevity of the engines and increases the number of overhauls that are possible on original components. Smaller amounts of material are removed by sanding as opposed to more aggressive methods like case cutting. In addition to the cases, every engine piece is carefully cleaned, polished, and painted before making its way to the assembly room.
