K’s jet landed back in California tonight. Going to assume Timothee is staying the weekend so he can start work Monday on his SNL appearance. Plus our NYC boy can kick off his Bleu de Chanel ad in NYC on the 6th! Maybe he will have another dinner with Uncle Marty and can pose for pics again. 💙
And for a couple Charmie shippers that means furiously typing fanfic possibly beginning with a subway ride. (no shade!)
Now, CFDA is the 6th as well which could mean the appearance of any Klan member. That means prepare for the worst and hope for the best. The best being K stays in California and her model sister shows. Second best is K reappears with all her charisma, uniqueness, nerve and… well, scratch all that. K shows and Timothee and she can have hundreds more photographs together walking in to an event together, arms around each other, acting playfully with genuine smiles just like they did at the WSJ Innovator Awards reception.
I hope he will do better this time, at least considering her and posing with her on the carpet because this time...she has to pose with Haider 😅

The posturing of the tour as ultimately a close-knit family affair continues with how the presence of a beloved Knowles family member, the deceased Uncle Johnny, is felt in Renaissance. He was instrumental in not only raising the Knowles children but in crafting the early costumes of Destiny’s Child. His presence in her life and tour as a Black gay man from the South is an extension of the album’s utilization of house music and the tour’s avowed celebration of queer joy with the presence of her backup dancers the Dolls and ballroom commentator Kevin JZ Prodigy. There’s a clip in the documentary of Beyoncé name-checking Uncle Johnny while speaking at the 2016 CFDA Fashion Awards, which is meant to outline that his presence has always mattered to her career. Though Johnny died of AIDS complications, you won’t learn that from Renaissance. The only mention of his final days comes when Beyoncé’s cousin, Angie Beyince, off-handedly refers to his hospice care. At first blush, the refusal to mention AIDS is odd in a documentary, album, and tour so primed on queer Black joy. But this is by design. For there is no star of such magnitude who more cunningly positions themselves as apolitical than Beyoncé. Her performance as an icon is meant to connect with the broadest number of people possible. To do that, her refusal to stand for anything specific beyond the watered-down treatises on Black excellence must be maintained.

Diamonds Are a Girl’s Best Friend: The Story of a Superhero who became a Fashion Mogul by Christina Cabello
Throughout the course of her life, Ilyana ‘Layla’ Ignacio has worn many different hats: superhero, professional MMA fighter, and most recently, successful fashionista. Her story is one of hardship, reinvention and enterprise that stands alone in its uniqueness even among her peers in the international superhero community. From her career as the heroine Krystal to her ventures in the world of fashion, it seems that the Diamond Dame has been there and done that on more than one occasion, and still plans to do so much more.
Much of Miss Ignacio’s earliest days as a hero remain unknown, but what is known is that her powers were the result of truly extraordinary circumstances: caught in the explosion of a major industrial accident, the damage to her body triggered a nigh impossible reaction within her cells that caused them to crystallise in an attempt to save her. It worked, and as a result, Layla retained the ability to convert her soft tissue into an organic diamond-like substance that greatly enhances her durability and regeneration and removes the need for her to eat, sleep and even breathe. She can also generate extra amounts of this substance both in and out of her crystalline form. With these newfound abilities and her background as an amateur MMA fighter, Layla took the alias of Krystal and embarked on a new career as a superhero, fighting crime and looking good while doing it. In this period of her life she accomplished much, from fighting many varieties of supervillains to pulling off many incredible rescues, perhaps the most famous of which being the time that she managed to lift a large chunk of the collapsed Golden Gate Bridge (the weight of which was estimated to weigh somewhere in the region of 500-1000 tons) to rescue a trapped group of civilians during an attack by the supervillain Walking Dread.
But all good things must come to an end eventually, and over time, Krystal began to slowly dial back her appearances as a superhero, citing a still unknown personal tragedy. It was also at this point that she made the first of many forays into the world of fashion: at just twenty-seven years old, Layla opened the Stellar Shine Fashion Boutique, from which she would gain no small of fame for her innovative techniques and unique design vision. Not long after the opening of her boutique, Layla also debuted the first of her many successful clothing lines, Cosmic Figures. Apparently named for and inspired by a childhood fascination with designing astronomy-themed clothes, Cosmic Figures quickly became one of the fastest-selling clothing lines of the year and even won the Emerging Talent Award at that year’s CFDA Fashion Awards. This interest with the stars also influenced the boutique itself, hence its name, and most if not all of the lines that have been produced since it opened, including the upcoming Nova and Nebula line of womenswear, which is set to release in time for summer of this year. During all of this, Layla did also still make appearances as Krystal, now a frequent associate of the late Guardians of the Globe, in particular members Green Ghost and Black Samson, the latter of whom she was also rumoured to be in a romantic relationship at one point or another. For a time, it seemed as if things couldn’t be better for her, with both a thriving hero career and a successful business under her wing.
But that was soon shattered when the Guardians of the Globe were found dead, later confirmed as having been murdered by the former superhero Omni-Man. This revelation gutted Krystal, who announced shortly afterwards that she would be going on hiatus from crimefighting for the foreseeable future. While she has been spotted occasionally in her crystalline form since then, Layla currently devotes most of her time to her position as CEO and Head Fashion Designer of the Stellar Shine Fashion Boutique based in Syracuse, New York, where she continues her work while grieving the loss of such close allies and friends.
In summary, the story of Ilyana Ignacio is one of many twists and turns, with changes that have bought both hardship and relief. It is the story of a woman who has reinvented herself time and again, who has gone from an amateur fighter on the edges of obscurity to one of the most famous person in the American fashion world. But perhaps most importantly, it’s a story that is also far from being over, and knowing Krystal, isn’t likely to stop being eventful any time soon.

• She was a contestant on the earlier seasons of So You Think You Can Dance, America’s Best Dance Crew, and World of Dance while becoming one of the most prominent judges on each show
• She became a judge on American Idol by Season 10 (instead of J. Lo and Katy Perry, I imagine her as a judge)
• Her song Daddy Lessons (including her version with the Chicks) caused her a lot of backlash, and she still performed with the group at the 2016 CMAS with them anyway (In this story, she did Daddy Lessons instead of Beyoncé)
• She dropped a cover of I See Red by Everybody Loves an Outlaw in 2020, and it went viral
• Despite not being a supermodel like her mother, fashion houses invite her to walk in shows whenever her schedule allows it
• She performed Move with Taemin at the 2017 MAMAS as a surprise
• She’s the female voice on Taemin’s song IDEA
• She won the Innovator Award and the Song of The Year Award at the 2024 iHeart Radio Music Awards and performed with TLC (she was rapping to Left Eye’s verse instead of Latto)
• Her, Zendaya, and Storm Reid went viral for dancing to APESHIT during the filming of the first season of Euphoria
• Her mom introduces her in her SNL performance of imperfect for you while Josh Brolin introduces her in her performance of we can’t be friends (wait for your love) (2024 update)
• She rips her shirt off during a solo performance of Fire by BTS on NCT VOXARA’s 2019 tour
• She is one of the youngest EGOT winners
• She had two collections with Tommy Hilfiger in 2018 and 2019
• ATEEZ’s Wooyoung, ENHYPEN’s Jay, RIIZE’s Anton, Seventeen’s TAZ, and Stray Kids’s Changbin are her family friends
• She was a co-chair at the 2024 Met Gala, and her two looks had free Palestine, free Congo, free Yemen, and many more on them while fitting the theme, and she showed support for the protesters (she broke the rules two times— during the 2021 and 2024 Met Gala)
• She dropped a pro-Palestine song called Hind’s Hall, and all proceeds when it hits streaming sites will go to UNRWA
• During the 2015 Grammys, she was part of the Stevie Wonder Tribute (in this universe she was the one performed with Ed Sheeran and Gray Clark Jr instead of Beyoncé)
• She did a Whitney Houston tribute on the show “Greatest Hits” in 2016
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ EBY━🌻
I will add more facts when inspiration comes to me. I also have an idea to make a Game of Thrones fanfiction, and this brought it back; let me know if you would be interested in reading it if I ever publish it.
2024 update: since her discography involves Ariana Grande, in this universe, someone else will play Cat Valentine in Victorious and Sam & Cat, and I’m only putting her in All That because I watched the reruns back in the day when I had cable and not because of what’s happening. (He should have apologized a long time ago instead of staying silent, and the fact he finally spoke up, said something, and “apologized” is wild).

One week after Megan Thee Stallion issued a public plea for people to "stop using [her] shooting for clout," the Southern Black Girls & Women's Consortium shared an open letter of support for the rapper denouncing violence against women and praising her bravery.
Megan, 27, was allegedly shot in the foot by singer Tory Lanez, 30, in July 2020, and he was charged that October with two felony counts. He pleaded not guilty to both charges.
In the years since, she has been forced to face critics who support Lanez, and in June, said she felt as though she had become "the villain" in the situation.
In the Consortium's letter, which was shared on Thursday, more than two dozen signees including #MeToo founder Tarana Burke, Planned Parenthood CEO Alexis McGill Johnson, Congresswomen Maxine Waters and Sheila Jackson Lee, activist Tamika Mallory and Angela Rye joined forces to offer their vocal support of the star, who partnered with the Consortium on the inaugural Joy Is Our Journey tour in August.
The letter is addressed to the "Plan B" rapper, and begins by praising her meteoric rise to fame and continued success, which make her an "inspiration" to "women all over the world."
"You're a special kind of talent and a special kind of person; the place you hold in your fans' hearts is a testament to that," the letter says. "As you've risen to the top, you've also had to endure a lot of obstacles along the way. In the face of triumph and tragedy alike, you always keep your head held high, maintain your poise and push forward."
Still, it goes on to acknowledge that the Grammy-winning star has "been treated in ways that no young woman—no person at all—should be treated. It must be said that our culture has failed you, one of its most brightly shining daughters."
Though Megan has repeatedly labeled Lanez an "abuser," she's had to endure many people in the industry supporting him. Earlier this month, Drake appeared to accuse her of making up the shooting in the lyrics to his song "Circo Loco."
"And when the mf facts come out remember y'all hoe ass favorite rappers that stood behind a N— that SHOT A FEMALE," Megan replied on Twitter. "People attack me y'all go up for it , i defend myself now I'm doing too much … every time it never ends and this did NOT happen until I came out and said I got shot … y'all don't [f— with me] okay cool f— it bye."
The letter calls out the "public harassment and taunting" Megan received from Lanez and his supporters, and says she's "consistently been clear about what happened" to her, but has not received the support she should.
Megan Thee Stallion Responds After Drake Seems to Accuse Her of Lying About Tory Lanez Shooting
"You don't deserve any of this, Megan," it reads. "You deserve to be heard, to be believed, and most importantly, to be safe."
The letter continues with a more general plea to continue supporting and believing victims of domestic violence, particularly Black women, who the letter says are often "fearful of what will happen to their assailant if they choose to involve the law… and are left unprotected by the system and the community alike."
Megan has said that she was shot by Lanez, whom she considered a friend, after an argument broke out between her, her friend and Lanez as they drove home from a poolside get-together at Kylie Jenner's house.
An LAPD detective testified at a preliminary hearing in December that Lanez shouted "Dance, bitch!" before shooting.
The "Luv" singer was charged in October 2020 with one felony count each of assault with a semiautomatic firearm, personal use of a firearm, and carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle. He pleaded not guilty to both charges in November 2020.
Lanez was ordered to house arrest and electronic monitoring in October, and will reportedly stay monitored through the scheduled start of his trial on Nov. 28.
Read the Consortium's letter in full below.
Dear Megan,
You are larger than life in many ways; your name is in lights, your face on billboards, your songs in the history books…and this is still just the beginning of your story. In a very short amount of time, you've achieved success probably beyond your wildest dreams, and it seems that each day brings a new announcement about something amazing you've done or are preparing to do. Women all over the world consider you an inspiration, in part because you make them feel good about themselves. You're a special kind of talent and a special kind of person; the place you hold in your fans' hearts is a testament to that.
As you've risen to the top, you've also had to endure a lot of obstacles along the way. In the face of triumph and tragedy alike, you always keep your head held high, maintain your poise, and push forward. However, while so many of us celebrate you for your strength and perseverance, it must be said that you have been treated in ways that no young woman–no person at all–should be treated.
It must be said that our culture has failed you, one of its most brightly shining daughters. In July of 2020, you experienced a violation of the highest order at the hands of someone whom you considered a friend. Since then, you've had to endure public harassment and taunting not only from that person but from others choosing to stand with him. Bloggers have circulated rumors and excitedly reported on the most traumatic experience of your life as if it were juicy gossip, often perpetuating the idea that you've got a reason to lie, that you shouldn't be believed. You've consistently been clear about what happened to you, but instead of being met with widespread support, people who should have had your back have chosen to stay out of the matter.
You don't deserve any of this, Megan. You deserve to be heard, to be believed, and most importantly, to be safe.
There is no amount of power or prestige that can prevent a woman from becoming a victim of violence and there is no level of achievement that exempts women from our society's complacency with that violence.
You may be a boss, the "hot girl coach," and a bonafide superstar, but that doesn't mean that you don't experience pain. No one is too 'bad,' too famous, too powerful to feel hurt. You've had to navigate this deeply difficult experience in the public eye, and while you've managed to stand strong and to keep showing up to work in spite of it all, it can't be understated how unfair it is that you're in this position to begin with.
Violence against women is still entirely too common and acceptable in our world. We make excuse after excuse to explain away even the most heinous acts, especially when the person accused is a celebrity of any sort. Being a celebrity, however, will not guarantee a woman any sympathy when she is a victim.
Black women are also often fearful of what will happen to their assailant if they choose to involve the law–as you yourself were afraid to do–and are left unprotected by the system and the community alike. If someone as influential as you can be belittled and mocked as nothing but a liar for standing up for herself, that speaks a volume about what a woman who doesn't have your resources or fame can expect to endure when she's found herself in a similar position.
An estimated one in three women worldwide has been the victim of sexual and/or domestic violence. Here in the United States, the numbers are higher for Black women, who also experience psychological abuse–such as humiliation, name-calling, and insults–at an increased rate. Women of all races, cis and trans, are suffering daily and we're all too complacent. From day one, you deserved a chorus of voices saying, "We believe you, Megan," and though you may not have been able to hear us sooner, know that we are with you now and every step of the way as you continue to heal from this tragedy. We are committed to making the world safer for you and all women, and one of the important steps that we must take to get there is to make it so that women who have been victims of violence can speak about their experiences without being attacked or dismissed.
You've been so strong, Megan, but that's not what we should demand nor expect from you. You deserve the space to cry, mourn and heal as you see fit without having to worry about being judged for having a human reaction to a personal tragedy.
Even in the midst of your own traumatic experience and healing, you recognized that other girls needed to experience joy and partnered with Southern Black Girls and Women's Consortium on the inaugural Joy Is Our Journey tour impacting thousands of girls across the south. You have remained committed to the focus of mental health and well being in our community even when your own has been minimized, marginalized, and deemphasized. We want you to know that you are important and you matter to us and to millions of women around the globe. Your life matters. Your work matters. Your joy matters. You deserve joy. We stand with you.
We salute you for the bravery it has taken to defend yourself in the court of public opinion, though you shouldn't have had to do so at all. We raise our voices against those who have made light of this heinous example of violence against women and will drown them out with our demands for society to take what happens to Black women seriously. You are not alone. You are believed, loved, and supported.
We stand with you Megan.

#Teechallaclothing LLC When Rihanna arrived on the Denver Champs Logo 2023 Shirt moreover I will buy this Cannes red carpet in 2017, the white custom strapless Christian Dior gown with a billowing offtheshoulder cape instantly made headlines (she also threw on matching white microshades for an extra dose of superstar power). Fast forward to last night, when Christensen commanded the runway in true supermodel fashion while sporting a replica of the exact same dress – sans sunglasses. Other memorable fashion moments from the night included Ambrosio wearing a crystalencrusted Balmain X Beyoncé dress complete with jeweled peplum and power shoulders, as well as Fontana in a blue figurehugging Moschino spring 2017 look designed by Jeremy Scott. On the first Monday in May, the world’s biggest stars ascended the steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art for the 2023 Met Gala to celebrate Karl Lagerfeld A Line of Beauty. Appropriately, the dress code read simply in honor of Karl, which means designers and stars alike pulled out all the stops for the occasion. Among the best dressed attendees was the model Anok Yai, dressed by Prabal Gurung, in a gold dress with a pannier skirt that seemed to evaporate into thin air. This particular dress I had in my mind for a really long time based on his [Lagerfeld’s] Chanel Haute Couture shows, shares Gurung. What most did not realize is that Yai’s look was two separate pieces a short dress with oxidized gold and silver handembroidered degrade sequin paillettes and beaded bugle bead fringe, and a sheer silk tulle mermaid skirt hand embroidered with cascading oxidized gold and silver sequin paillettes underneath.

#Teechallaclothing LLC In the Denver Champs Logo 2023 Shirt moreover I will buy this episode Gurung goes on to explain that when he received his CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund award in 2010 it was Lagerfeld that presented it to him. I’ll never forget that exchange and it has remained with me forever. It has made me a better designer, he recalls. Good news for major red carpet fans The 2023 Cannes Film Festival is officially underway in Cannes, France. The annual event, which premieres and screens some of the mostdiscussed films of the year, produces one of the most lavish step and repeats in the world. It’s a fashion spectacle on par with the Oscars and Met Gala, and a decidedly much more formal one than other film festivals like Venice or TIFF. We’re bound to receive some toptier fashion on La Croisette, thanks to a starstudded lineup of new projects. Wes Anderson’s Asteroid City stars Scarlett Johansson, Tom Hanks, Tilda Swinton, and Margot Robbie; Todd Haynes’s May December features Julianne Moore and Natalie Portman; and Martin Scorsese’s Killers of the Flower Moon is anchored by Leonardo DiCaprio, Lily Gladstone, Robert De Niro, and Brendan Fraser. If all these names aren’t enough, there’s also the 2023 Cannes jury, with members such as Brie Larson, Paul Dano, and Julia Ducournau. Cannes has a history of delivering spellbinding style moments, after all. Glamorous moments from past years include Diana, Princess of Wales’s Catherine Walker gown in 1987, Madonna’s 1991 Jean Paul Gaultier cone bra, and Amal Clooney’s sunny Atelier Versace gown in 2016. More recently, model Bella Hadid made waves with her 2021 Schiaparelli Couture dress and gold, lunglike breastplate.

In the press release, Versace said: “I have always believed in the power of young creatives. At Versace we have had some of the most amazing young talent join us and we have learned so much from them. A Brief History of the CFDA
Tumblr media
You don’t know American fashion if you don’t know the CFDA.
Founded in 1962, the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) remains a vital pillar of the American fashion industry. The New York City-based trade association boasts over 450 members across different segments of the fashion industry, including Tom Ford, its current chairman, and current committee members like Michael Kors, Tommy Hilfiger, Virgil Abloh, and Kerby Jean-Raymond. The CFDA organizes New York Fashion Week and hosts the annual CFDA awards, among other things. Membership is open to U.S. designers or designers based in the U.S. on an invite-only basis. Once invited, applicants require an affirmative vote by the CFDA board for acceptance into the association.
Fashion publicist Eleanor Lambert, founder of New York Fashion Week, the Costume Institute Gala, and the International Best Dressed List, created the CFDA to “further the position of fashion design as a recognized branch of American art and culture” and to “advance its artistic and professional needs.” Throughout the decades, the organization has also had an impressive list of presidents, from founding members Norman Norell and Bill Blass to Perry Ellis and Oscar de la Renta, who served two terms between 1973–1976 and 1987–1989.
The first CFDA Awards were held in 1980 to acknowledge and promote the American fashion industry’s creative talent. Known now as the “Oscars of Fashion,” the awards show quickly grew popular and replaced its predecessor the Coty American Fashion Critics’ Awards by 1984. Potential recipients of the CFDA Awards are nominated by the Fashion Guild, a group of over 1,000 CFDA members and industry insiders.
In 1991, designer Stan Herman and Fern Mallis took over the CFDA as President and Executive Director, respectively. Under their leadership, the CFDA grew into the fashion industry force it is today. Herman and Mallis relocated the CFDA Awards from the Museum of Modern Art to the David H. Koch Theater, a move that Herman would deem “more democratic” due to the extra space that the theater provided. Herman and Mallis also centralized New York Fashion Week under the name “7th on Sixth” in 1993. Prior to their organization in Bryant Park tents, where NYFW remained until 2010, fashion shows took place all over the city. In 1998, the schedule for NYFW was pushed to the beginning of the international fashion calendar after scheduling issues with Helmut Lang and Calvin Klein. By 2001, NYFW, though highly successful, became too expensive and unwieldy for the CFDA to handle alone, and was sold to International Management Group (IMG), which, along with other organizations, produces it to this day. However, the CFDA still organizes NYFW due to its ownership of the Fashion Calendar, a once-biweekly, subscription-based pink newsletter founded in 1945 to keep track of NYFW events. The CFDA acquired the calendar from its creator, businesswoman Ruth Finley, in 2014.
Despite their many strokes of genius, not all of Herman and Mallis’s ideas were well-received. In June 1999, the CFDA attempted to televise its annual award ceremony, an effort that cost $2 million. The move was criticized by fashion media due to its length, tediousness, and no-show celebrity hosts. Fashion journalist Cathy Horyn deemed it a “six-and-a-half ordeal of dinner, speeches, and wilting hairdos” in an article for the New York Times.
In 2006, designer Diane Von Furstenberg was elected CFDA President, while Steven Kolb joined the organization as Executive Director, a position he currently holds. Under Furstenberg, the CFDA began to focus on younger, emerging talent. Around the same time, the CFDA also started to take a stand against counterfeit product designs, with multiple designers traveling to Washington, D.C. to lobby for copyright protection on designs.
But the CFDA isn’t simply responsible for glamourous runway shows and awards nights. In 1973, the CFDA Foundation, the CFDA’s separate non-profit philanthropy organization, was founded. Amid the HIV/AIDS epidemic, the CFDA Foundation held its first “7th on Sale” event to raise money and awareness for the New York City AIDS fund. The initial event raised over $4.2 million and was held twice more in San Francisco in 1992 and 1995 in New York City. In 2001, the CFDA collaborated with Vogue magazine for “Fashion for America” after the September 11th attacks.
To boost retail sales during the Great Recession, the CFDA held the first annual Fashion Night’s Out in September 2009. The event, which was hosted annually until its cancellation in 2013, was famous for its high-profile celebrities (such as the Olsen twins), late-night luxury store romps, and alcoholic overflow. The impact of the annual event is still debated. In 2017, in collaboration with Planned Parenthood, the CFDA creates “Fashion Stands with Planned Parenthood” pins to support women’s reproductive rights.
In addition, the association actively works to nurture young American designers. In 1996, the CFDA started its Scholarship Program as part of its Educational Initiatives. Other awards include the Target/CFDA Design Initiative (f. 1998), the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund (f. 2004), and the CFDA/Teen Vogue Scholarship (f. 2011). Most recently, the Fashion Trust Initiative was launched in 2018 to provide grants and membership to upcoming designers.

—I’m sorry. But what exactly is going on here? I don’t remember having any appointment with any Ms Dupont. And even if I had, that is not the way to enter my office! As you see, lady, I’m in the middle of a very important meeting here! So if you please, I suggest you went outside and arrange an appointment with my secretary, preferably for next week.
—Yeah. Well. I’m sorry, Mr Keyman, but I think I can’t do that. You see, things are a little more complicated…
—WHAT? WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU CAN’T DO THAT?? AND HOW DO YOU KNOW ME ANYWAY??
—May I have a seat? Thank you..
—NO YOU MAY NOT!! LISTEN, LADY! I DON’T KNOW WHO THE HELL ARE YOU, OR WHAT YOU WANT!! BUT YOU HAVE ENTERED MY OFFICE WITHOUT PERMISSION AND IF YOU DON’T LEAVE IMMEDIATELY I WILL HAVE TO CALL SECURITY!
—Relax, Mr Keyman. I’m not here to argue with you. On the contrary, I’m coming as a friend…
—A friend?? What are you talking about, Ms-I-don’t-even-know-your-name?
—Dupont, Mr Keyman. It’s French. Aymeline Dupont…
—Yeah, whatever Ms Dupont. What is that you want?
—I’m sorry. May I know to whom I speak?
—You are speaking to a member of the US Congress, Ms Dupont. So I suggest that you watch your mouth. And start giving us some answers!
—A Congressman! Wow…
—ENOUGH!! I’M CALLING SECURITY!!
—I’m here to do business with you, Mark. That’s why I’m here.
—Business?? Mark?? How you know my name??
—I know many things about you, Mark. I know you are 38. Recently married. Living in the suburbs. Planning on having a kid. Oh. And working on passing a new law that is going to make it a criminal offense to employ women with a BMI below 20…
—YOU, YOU… WHO ARE YOU??
—I’m just a friend, Mark. I told you. I’m a friend. And I’m here to talk about business.
—WHAT BUSINESS?? WHO ARE YOU WORKING FOR??
—I’m afraid I can’t say much at this point. Although if we reach an agreement, I’ll be happy to say more.
—AN AGREEMENT?? AN AGREEMENT ON WHAT??
—Listen, Mark. I represent one of the biggest model agencies in the world. You know us. We are everywhere. Haute-couture, catwalks, shows, magazines, clothing brands, cosmetics. We provide models in almost everything that has to do with women. In other words, we own the fashion industry, Mark.
—So, who the hell are you?
—I told you, Mark. You know us. But I can’t tell you who we are. At least not for now. What I want right now is for us to have an understanding.
—What kind of understanding??
—It’s rather simple, Mark. You don’t fuck with us, we don’t fuck with you! And everyone’s happy!
—What are you talking about, woman?? Are you out of your mind?? Didn’t you hear who am I?? How can you..
—Oh relax, Mr Congressman! I wasn’t talking to you!! It’s Mark I want.
—Are you crazy, lady?? Is this some kind of joke??
—Listen, Mark. I’m here to do business. You are the new Chief Executive of the CFDA. We all know your past. And we all know what you want to do. I understand that going from the US Government to the fashion industry may feel weird and out of place for you. But that has nothing to do with us. I understand that it’s difficult to go from a big-boys club to a girls-only area, but you have to get over it! You don’t have to do something stupid that you know nothing of, just to make a statement.
—Are you saying what I think you’re saying Ms Dupont?
—Listen, dear. First I have to remind you that we are on the same page here. We are here to help each other. You protect us and then we protect you…
—What the hell… who are you anyway?? Is this a threat or something?
—Of course not, Mr Keyman! I’m here to show you that we’re all on the same team! You represent us, so that means you do what is in our interest. And then we make sure that you stay in your position!
—My position???
—Oh, Mark. Come on, you’re making this too big a deal! What I’m saying is simple: it’s our common interest to work together. We provide jobs for the people and you make sure that we keep on doing that! So our common interest suggests that you stopped what you’re doing with that horrible law you’re planning to push and we meet again so that we agree on our future actions.
—WHAT??? ARE YOU… ARE YOU MAD OR SOMETHING??? HOW CAN YOU EVEN SAY SOMETHING LIKE THIS IN MY FACE??? YOU UNDERSTAND THAT I CAN EVEN SUE YOU FOR THIS!!!
—Oh relax, Mark. That would be not wise for either of us. You have to understand we’re doing business here. It’s nothing personal! But as for that law… As you understand, Mark, we can’t change our models. And of course we can’t change our clothes! Some people may find our models underweight or something, but that is what fashion is all about, my dear.
—That’s fashion??? Well, it won’t be as of this Monday, Ms Dupont! YOU WILL CHANGE, OR YOU WILL GO DOWN!
—You have no reason to threaten me, Mark! There is nothing to argue about! Our girls are perfect the way they are. And they are going to stay that way. We do not want any fat cows opening our shows. On the contrary we want our girls to gain more power. And that’s where YOU enter, Mark! YOU have to push things to the limit, dear. You have to help society idolize our girls. As I said, we’re on the same page here.
—Listen, lady. I don’t know who you are and I’m not planning on learning anything more about you. But I’m saying this: you don’t know me either! If you did, you would have never opened your mouth in the first place, See, Ms Dupont, working for the government for 15 years, my eyes have seen a lot regarding your industry. Gay scandals, drugs, underweight models. Your world is infected, Ms Dupont. But not anymore. Not with me on the helm! I will change that industry forever!!
—But we ARE the industry, Mark! We create the trends that you will follow in the future. We make the icons that you will search for when you’ll want to pleasure yourself! Ask your wife, Mark. We decide who is she going to follow on instagram!! Because WE are the industry, Mark!
—That’s it, Ms Dupont! I want you out of my office!!
—You are just a puppet, Mark!! You make sure that you find sponsors for our industry! You make sure that you give nice speeches about how perfect and pure our industry is! You make sure that you praise the girls that WE decide that you praise!! You make sure that you smile a lot! And that you do your best to show that we are everything that everyone would ever dream of! That’s what you do!!
—ARE YOU MAD??? OUT!! OUT!! I WANT YOU OUT OF MY OFFICE NOW!!
—And for the proper amount of money, of course! But you know that already, right?
—ARE YOU CRAZY, WOMAN??? HOW DARE YOU STEP INTO MY OFFICE LIKE THAT, GIVING ME MONEY AS IF I’M SOME KIND OF CRIMINAL???
—There are no criminals in this room, Mark. Only smart people…
—I knew they were going to do this!! But damn, I never thought they were going to be that quick. And that stupid!!!
—Why are you saying that Mr Congressman..
—I was just telling Mark over here. Never mind. You are already facing serious charges, Ms Dupont. I have no idea why you did what you did. But as of this moment the future of the fashion industry is the least of your problems. So I suggest that you stepped out and found a good lawyer. Although I’m not sure how effective he’s gonna be against the voice of a Congressman…
—So, Mark? What do you say? Should we talk about the details?
—Details? What the fuck is that woman saying?? Ms Dupont, I’ll be quick. I want you out of my office right now, or I’m calling security. Either way, tomorrow morning you will be prosecuted for a number of serious violations.
—So. Apology accepted, Mr Keyman.
—APOLOGY??? ARE YOU INSANE, WOMAN?? DON’T YOU LISTEN?? YOU’RE OVER! MY LAW IS ON ITS WAY!! YOU THINK I’M DOING IT FOR THE MONEY??? OH, I GO FOR THE GLORY MS DUPONT!! THE GLORY, YOU KNOW??? GONE ARE THE DAYS WHERE YOU AND ALL THOSE GAY FREAKS THAT YOU WORK WITH, WERE PUSHING OUR YOUTH TO ANOREXIA!! THAT’S RIGHT, I’M GONNA MAKE IT A CRIME!! I’M GONNA BE FIERCE! AND I’M GONNA CHANGE THE WHOLE FUCKING INDUSTRY!! OUR WOMEN ARE GONNA BE CURVY AGAIN!! AWAY FROM YOUR DISGUSTING NEEDS!!
ARE YOU EVEN PAYING ATTENTION, WOMAN??
—I told you she’s crazy, Mark.
Ms Dupont, now that you put all your perfume, you can go find a good lawyer.
—Why are you saying that, Mr Congressman? Mark and I have a great understanding. And I’m willing to accept his apology. And yours too…
—Apology?? Apology for what???
—For staring at me like that!! Both of you!! Who do you think I am??
—STARING??? ARE YOU…
—LET IT GO, MARK!! THAT WOMAN IS OUT OF HER MIND! JUST CALL SECURITY!!!
—There’s no need to do that, Mark. I’m gonna call security myself, to tell them about the two of you!!!
—WHAT? YOU WHAT??? WHAT THE FU…
—Call security for what, Ms Dupont? For watching you putting on tons of perfume while going nuts??
—Oh you got some nerve talking about my perfume, Mr Congressman!! Was it my perfume you were staring, or the part of my body that I applied it on?
—Part of, what…?? What are you talk…
—Where are you looking at, right now, Mr Congressman??
—What? Are you insane, woman?? Are you implying that I’m staring at your chest?? What chest anyway??? Listen, lady! Probably you do not understand the magnitude of the charges that are going to be pressed on you tomorrow, because if you had you would have called the best lawyer anyone could find already. So. You may have your issues thinking that anyone would stare at your chest! But I assure you. Neither me, nor Mark, not anyone in this building wants nothing from you. I apologize if we gave you that impression, but all we need from you is to take your perfume, your non-existent chest and your craziness with you and leave that room immediately!
—You seem to talk about my perfume a lot, Mr Congressman. You like it? It’s called “White Shadow”. In fact, it’s not exactly a perfume. It’s more of a pharmaceutical product I have developed. It inhibits certain neurotransmitters in your brain’s frontal cortex that are related with logic, judgement and doubt, while releasing others that are related with trust, positiveness and acceptance.
—WHAT??? WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT, LADY??? GET OUT OF MY OFFICE!!! I’M CALLING 911!!!!
—Oh relax, Mark. There is nothing to worry about. You know that, don’t you??
—I!! I…
—What? What the fuck is going on here???? I’m calling…
—Take it easy, Mr Congressman. Don’t worry. You don’t feel different too. Do you?
—What are you?? Are you sa…
—Do you feel different, Mr Congressman? It’s a simple question. You can answer that and then you go on with that phone…
—I. I.
—Do you feel any different, Mr Congressman??? It is proper that you answered every question that you are asked, isn’t it?
—What??
—I said, you know that when a lady asks you something, you have to answer. It’s only good manners! And I’m asking you: do you feel any different?
—Well, NO!! Should I???
—See, dear? That’s what I’m saying. You are the same. There is nothing to worry about! Neither do you, Mark. Take deep breaths. Both of you. I want you to take it all in. There is absolutely no reason to have any second thoughts. Everything’s fine over here. No 911. All fine. White Shadow is raising the serotonin levels in your brain as we speak. You will soon be in a state of euphoria. Don’t worry. My perfume will help you relax. That’s okay. There is no need for us to worry our heads with bad thoughts, do we?
—WHAT THE F…
—We are already feeling better, don’t we? No 911. No shouting.
—What… what are you doing, woman? What’s with that weird perfume?
—As I said, Mr Congressman. It’s just something so that you will have a natural, positive disposition towards anything I say. That’s all!
—And why would you do something like that?? That’s weird! Dangerous!! Are you using it right now??? We must do something about it!! Shouldn’t we?
—YEAH!!!
—There’s nothing to worry about, boys!! As I said you stay the same! You just don’t doubt much of what I say. It is going to feel more as if it’s your big sister talking. Everything’s gonna be fine! I want you to be a little more naive and gullible! That’s all! Do you have a big sister, Mark?
—What? No!!
—And you, Mr Congressman?
—What this has to do with…
—Do you, Mr Congressman?
—Well, no!!!
—If you had, you would have no doubt whatsoever on her intentions, though! Right?
—What the…
—Think about it, honeys! It makes sense! I’ll be like your big sister speaking. No big deal. You will just have your logical judgement being shaped in my hands. You have absolutely no reason to feel any worried. I’m sure you’re starting to see this already… right?
—You don’t actually have to doubt anything I say. I have no reason to lie, have I? Mark what do you say? Do I have any reason to harm you in any way?
—Well. I don’t see one, but…
—That’s my boy. See, baby, I named it “White Shadow” because it basically shadows logical judgement! Any logical argument you may have about what I say just gets shadowed with everything that comes out from my mouth!
—That’s not, okay…
—Of course it is, Mr Congressman! Because both you and Mark over here, say many things that have to be shadowed by my mouth. Don’t you think?
—Shado-what? No! I mean… what are you saying? I think…
—You talk too much, Mr Congressman. That’s all. Both of you. You just need to find some dead-ends to what you say. And be guided through the paths that I show you. It’s only logical, isn’t it?
—…
—It’s.. why should we… I mean, no that’s not okay!! Something’s going on here!!
—Relax, Mr Keyman… There is no need to worry. You will not feel any difference in your brain. You are the same perfectly rational person at all times. It’s just that as long as you’re under the influence of White Shadow, your logic is being reshaped by me. But that is not something that has to worry you. Because I am perfectly rational as well and it’s absolutely okay to have your logic being shaped by a perfectly rational person. It makes sense, doesn’t it?
—…
—No, that’s not okay! Messing with our logic?? And why should we trust you?? You are doing something weird here!! We are not…
—Oh, relax, Mark. Give it some time! The more you inhale, the more White Shadow gets to your system. As we speak serotonin levels are dramatically increased in your brain. Soon you will feel as if you’re high. And with the soon-to-be total block of the neurotransmitters that are responsible for your judgement, you will soon have the judgment abilities of a 5 year old. Give it some time. Soon everything will seem to make so much sense. There is no need to worry, baby. You ‘ll see…
—You think we’re stupid?? And what stops you from saying whatever you want to us??
—Oh, but I will Mr Congressman! Nothing can stop me now! I will say whatever I want! And you will believe me like a couple of 5 year olds! But that will not worry you! Because either way, soon you’ll be seeing things my way!
—WHAT??
—Oh come on, dear. I’m just saying that if I say something as a fact, you will have no reason not to believe what I just said! Let’s say, if I told you that when I entered your office, you both had a hard-on for me, you would have no reason to deny that it happened. Would you?
—What???
—Relax, Mr Congressman. I’m sure you’re already much more comfortable with the idea that I’m not as dangerous as you first thought. Aren’t you?
—You…
—So if i say that something happened, I’m sure you already see that most probably I must be right. And if I tell you to follow me let’s say to my apartment, I’m sure you would find no reason not to. Right, dear?
—Well, you are dangero…
—Relax, dear. That’s it. Here. Have some more.
Just logic. You don’t find any reason to be worried, do you? I’m sure you don’t even understand why you were that upset in the first place! Do you? —Listen, dear. Mark HAS GOT to spend the weekend in my house. I have a lot of important things to talk with him. Now, I don’t know how the hell you’re still having the strength to complain, but I assure you that if you go on, I will have to take you with me as well! —I will never let you tak… —Oh, Mr Congressman. You never stop, do you? Listen then. I’ll be with you in a minute! Just you and me! I see we need to work on our relationship! Now, Mark. I want you to take this. —What is this…? —That is the USB drive you wanted to download on your PC! Here, have some more of my perfume as well. —USB? What USB?? I don.. —Don’t you remember anything, Mark? That’s why I came here in the first place! We had an appointment so that I bring you a file with all of our models’ photos. —We had?? I don’t remember anything like that!! —Do I have any reason to lie, Mark? —Well, no. But, a file with your models? Why would I do something like that? —Probably it’s about that law you’re working on. You said you wanted a file with the skinniest models we have. —What?? The skin… —The skinniest, Mark. I remember you specifically asking me to bring you a USB full of photos with the most anorexic models we have. Actually not only that, but you asked for the most wild, provocative, extreme photo-shoots I could find! —I, WHAT?? NO WAY… —I’m sure it’s about that law, Mark. It makes sense. Doesn’t it? —No… —It does, Mark. You want to have all you can find about our bony models posing like sluts, so that you use it as evidence against us. It makes sense… —Actually, it… makes sense… —So, here’s your USB, Mark. —I.. thank you. I guess… —That’s okay. Now go make a new folder, name it HOT and go put everything there. It won’t take more than 10 minutes. —What? HOT? Are you out of your mind??? Why on earth would I name it HOT??? —Because every folder that has models in it, must be named HOT, dear! —What?? —Models are supposed to be hot, Mark. We know that. Everybody knows that. Maybe not the ones you’ll have on your PC, but as a general rule models are considered to be hot, right? —Well, yeah. —So, it only makes sense if you name that file HOT! Doesn’t it? You ‘ll have models in it. Can you find a more suitable name for the folder? —Uhm, never mind… I guess you’re right… —Oh and please, baby. Do me a favor. —It’s absolutely important that you have every single girl on your PC. Right? —Of course it is, Mark!! Most people make mistakes during a file transfer… —So. I want you to put all your effort there! —That’s it! Which means that no matter what you hear, you will not interfere! Because that would be a reason to lose your concentration on your task and make a mistake. And that would be something that we must avoid at all costs, right? —That means that you have to be focused on your task. 100%. One would say your career depends on it! —So, no matter what you hear, the only thing that matters is that you upload everything and make no mistakes. Right? —That’s my boy! Now go! Do your job!

Puma Returns To New York Fashion Week With The ‘FUTROGRADE’
Tumblr media
PUMA will present a game-changing brand experience with FUTROGRADE on September 13th at 9PM EST, an immersive runway show timed to New York Fashion Week. This enhanced event exists across several realms: looking back at the brand’s heritage, looking ahead to the future; fusing physical and digital; and highlighting the PUMA family through collaborations and special appearances.
Within a vast downtown space transformed by light, music and dynamic projection effects, guests will rediscover PUMA’s sport fashion vision. Across men’s and women’s collections, there will be remixed retro signatures, upcoming collaborations, custom pieces, and future-leaning looks that emphasize elevated, active style and expressive individuality.
Alongside the show, PUMA will reveal a digital experience that integrates interactive components to engage a global audience, further establishing PUMA in the web3 space after several collaborative projects in the first half of the year.“We are thrilled to be back on the official CFDA/NYFW calendar,” says Adam Petrick, Chief Brand Officer of PUMA. “Returning to fashion week for the first time in several years is significant for us because we knew we needed the right combination of factors to be present.  With an emphasis on digital, a great line up of ambassadors and an amazing creative partner in June Ambrose, the foundation and creativity for a great show are there. And we’re excited that this can be the moment for us to bring it to life.”
FUTROGRADE will feature a multitude of PUMA family members, from athletes to celebrities.
Heritage elements – from the T7 track-inspired formstrip to the iconic leaping logo – will converge with bold futuristic designs. Collaborations from the likes of Dapper Dan, Palomo, AC Milan and Koché represent a significant part of the show, each one interpreting the brand’s heritage with a unique twist.  A range of FW22 pieces will be available immediately following the show with others arriving for SS23.
The selection of looks, from both the current and upcoming seasons, is being curated by PUMA Creative Director, June Ambrose, who has also designed a number of exclusive runway pieces.  "My life and work has been rooted in street-culture and developing the relationship between urban sensibilities and industries. When I entered the business nearly three decades ago, my mission was to influence generations of people who dream about being seen. This perspective is what I bring to PUMA and it reflects my mindset as I curate the FUTUROGRADE show. I want to connect the emotional narrative of our lives, to the show, through the cyclical nature of fashion. I’m excited about the audience’s perception of how we are presenting the idea of ‘a future-forward classic’; tapping into nostalgia and reimagining it for the future. I want this concept to challenge the audience to be creative with their present, as they forecast what's next."
Petrick adds, “It is our aim that this experience, whether in person or immersed digitally, will illustrate the history and heritage of our brand through a reimagined and futuristic lens.”
David Stamatis, Executive Director and Partner at Future, a company that creates, partners and invests in ideas and content, is leading both creative direction and digital production of the show experience.
Closer to the show, PUMA will provide additional details about the digital components developed to define a multi-layered and original experience. With FUTROGRADE, PUMA will showcase its distinct culture of fashion, music, and sport.
