I tend to be left unsatisfied if an etymology doesn't include both halves of a name. So while taking Gelekh Xigisi to be a fracturing of "galaxy" makes sense (the etymology is Milky Way, emphasis on the milk), that still left the burning question of what to make of the remainer, "gisi". Throwing гиси into Google Translate returns nothing -- but Friendsim's penchant for deliberate mis-transcription could suggest the possibility of Gucci (Гуччи)? with the Cyrillic у (an "oo" sound) faux-mistaken for an "i" (и), and the transformation of "cc" into a "ch" (чч) neglected in favor of "c" (an "s" sound). The surname Gucci apparently began as a diminutive, attached to names like Uguccio (little Hugo) or Arriguccio (little Henry), so Gelekh Xigisi would translate to... little galaxy? ie "microcosm", which could pose Galekh's wiki writing in terms of world encapsulation... Gucci might complement the suit too

The wiki offers "exegesis" as an etymology (also excellent, lines up with his art interpretation), but if we want to account for the remainder, his full name becomes "Gal Exegesis", which to my eye offers a couple lines of thought: one read would be "explaining women" as though women were a theoretical problem demanding explanation (a recurring theme of psychoanalysis!), with Galekh's need to appear knowledgeable about (mythical) Rainbow Drinkers and aliens a front for interpretating the unfamiliar feminine. (Mildly ironic, given that a fixation on a seemingly incomplete totality is what drove me to the reading). But another read would be a gender-flipped play on "mansplaining", posing Galekh as the girl? Gonna replay his route tomorrow to test which of these works, if either (or if both!). Third/fourth reads involve interpreting the L as a misrepresented Cyrillic G (Г), turning his name into Gag Exegesis, which could mean "explaining the joke" (Galekh can be very literal) and/or could pose a dichotomy of silence (gag) and speech (exegesis), a motif near and dear to Homestuck

And of course there's the Venn Diagram reading of Galaxy Exegesis, "explaining the world" (or explaining milk?) which lends itself to both the "microcosm" of Wikipedian representation and the potential focus on a problematized notion of women. Which of these passes muster? Who knows! It's 1 AM, I'll sort through it later
