And that's what makes a true hero. Izuku saved Shouto by offering help that wasn't asked for and Shouto immediately paid it forward to save his mother. Izuku wasn't obligated to save Shouto, and quite frankly the sports festival situation was set up in a way that a more by the book person would have ignored Shouto's pain. And Shouto wasn't obligated to save Rei. Despite Rei also being a victim, Shouto would not be in the wrong if he chose to hate her or chose not to reconnect with her. But they both chose to save the person in front of them anyway

@ofsavior asked: “I promise, I’m usually better at this—” (Todomomo)
"Momo-,"
Shouto says gently to interrupt Momo, placing his hand overtop her own. He'd noticing her shaking nervously almost, hence messing up the decoration of the cupcakes. He knows Momo is better at decorating them, he's seen and eaten them before, almost feeling shame having to eat such a perfectly designed confectionary. She had no reason to explain such an obvious thing to him.
"Calm down. You're shaking a lot. You don't need to be nervous around me."
He aims a tiny personal smile at her. He's definitely caught on to the fact he tends to make her very nervous, but he wants to show her she doesn't need to be.
"Just do what you normally do, okay?"

Rating: T
Warning: None
Relationship: Midoriya Izuku/Todoroki Shouto
Snippet:
On Dabi’s cue, the Vanguard Action Squad scattered. Izuku ran as fast as he could, directly into the nearest copse of trees. The sooner he was out of everyone’s sight, the sooner he could put all his plans into motion. He only had a handful of minutes, a half-hour at best, and every second counted.
As soon as the treeline hid him from prying eyes, he turned away from his designated path. Instead, he veered sharply to the right, sprinting through the trees. It took a few precious minutes to find the trail, but once he did, the wreckage of toppled trees was an easy track to follow.
