It’s become a real challenge to keep up with every Palestine protest and action happening in this country, but I am going to round-up some of that have occurred in recent days in case you missed them. Over 75 activists shut down and blocked all entrances to Boeing Building 598 in Saint Charles, Missouri. The facility manufactures the Small Diameter Bombs (SDBs) and Joint Direct Attack Munition (JDAM) bombs that Israel is using Gaza. “We are joining millions of people across the United States and around the world in demanding an end to Israeli’s brutal assault on Gaza and its decades-long occupation of Palestine,” said Ellie Tang, a member of the anti-war organization Dissenters, in a statement. “We urge Congress and Biden to hear the calls of millions of us living in this country, and push for a ceasefire. Until Congress blocks the bombs, we will.” After shutting operations down for 2 hours, the facility canceled its deliveries for the day. 500 protesters with Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP) took over the Statue of Liberty’s platform, dropped banners, held a sit-in, and chanted for a ceasefire. “HAPPENING NOW AT THE STATUE OF LIBERTY: Hundreds of Jews and allies are holding an emergency sit-in, taking over the island to demand a ceasefire in Gaza. We refuse to allow a genocide to be carried out in our names. Ceasefire now to save lives! Never again for anyone!,” tweeted the organization. Oakland protesters blocked a ship from leaving its port for hours. The boat was headed to the Port of Tacoma to pick up arms destined for Israel. Hundreds of protesters are currently occupying that port and at least one worker is refusing to take the cargo after learning about its use. At a Get Out the Vote rally, Democratic candidate Senator John Fetterman (D-PA) was confronted by a protester calling for a ceasefire. “4,000 plus dead children in Palestine. 9,000 plus dead civilians, get off the stage. … Get off the stage. I don’t care … get off the stage,” he yelled before being escorted out of the building by police. Tens of thousands gathered in San Francisco to demand a ceasefire. “I can feel the momentum of it and that’s why we had to get out today,” one told the local CBS station. “My son’s in Trafalgar Square right now or he was earlier today. Same deal. People who just feel the injustice of the world.” A speech by Senator Cory Booker (D-NJ) in New Jersey was interrupted by activists calling on him to back a ceasefire. He quickly exited the stage. Rhode Island Senators Jack Reed and Sheldon Whitehouse were disrupted at event by protesters calling for a ceasefire. Rep. Grace Meng was confronted by protesters asking when she will back a ceasefire. She remained silent and her staff told them, “There’s a time and place for this.”

Pentagon approves lethal weapons package for South Korean F-35s
The strategic movement strengthens the alliance between the two nations and deters regional aggression.

In a diplomatic and defense development, the U.S. Department of State gave the green light to a foreign military sale, approving the acquisition by the Republic of Korea of advanced ammunition and related equipment for F-35 fighters.
Valued at $271 million, this agreement underlines the commitment to regional stability and improves the defense capabilities of the Republic of Korea.
Tumblr media
The Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) formally informed Congress about the approved sale, which includes a series of advanced weapons, such as the AIM-120C-8 medium-range advanced air-to-air missiles (AMRAAM), the direct-attack joint missiles (JDAM) of the GBU ammunition series (GBU-31v1 JDAMs, GBU-31v3 JDAMs and GBU-54 LJDAMs), GBU-12 Paveway II and small-diameter bombs (GBU-39 SDB-I and GBU-53 SDB-II). The Republic of Korea's request for this arsenal aims to improve its fleet of fighters and ensure compatibility with U.S. forces.
South Korea is introducing 40 F-35A Lightning II fighters and has confirmed a new order for 20 units to improve its air combat capabilities. South Korea also showed interest in acquiring a small fleet of 20 F-35B Lightning II aircraft, the F-35 short take-off and vertical landing (STOVL) aircraft.
This strategic move aligns with U.S. foreign policy objectives and national security objectives, reinforcing an alliance with a key actor in the Indo-Pacific region. The sale is positioned to face existing threats and effectively equip the Republic of Korea to face future challenges.
Tumblr media
Maintaining ties in the Indo-Pacific region is of great strategic value to the U.S. Armed Forces, as they seek to contain Chinese military expansion and protect allied states such as Taiwan.
Crucially, the proposed sale emphasizes the U.S. commitment to maintaining the military balance in the region. Despite the substantial firepower involved, it is stated that the acquisition will not disturb the balance of power.
The companies Lockheed Martin Corporation, Raytheon Missiles and Defense and The Boeing Company are identified as the main contractors of this ammunition agreement.
While improving the defense capabilities of the Republic of Korea, this development marks a step in strengthening regional security, while maintaining the diplomatic balance.
South Korea has strengthened its defense capabilities with two recently approved arms agreements. First, the U.S. approved the sale of 38 units of Standard Missile-6 Block I to South Korea, valued at $650 million. At the same time, South Korea secured the acquisition of the AIM-9X Block II and Block II+ Sidewinder missiles from Raytheon Missiles and Defense, estimated at $52.1 million.

Good lord, I was supposed to post this like a week ago, wasn't I? Covid must have made me forgetful. But I'm over it now :D. Another collaborative project with @superdinoboys ! if you remember their absolutely excellent War of the Minds AU and their awesome concept for the evil alien race, The Brancods, -- referenced here -- you'll get a kick out of this. SDB came up with the idea of humanoid brancods that look like the aliens from Mars Attacks -- Ack Ack! This was a complex, but super fun project! If you'll notice, their eyes are meant to look like Psi Challenge Markers! Neat, right? Hope you enjoy!

Material religion - Wikipedia
Religion Minuit-Saint Bembé Catholicism Theology
The religious institute of the Salesians of Don Bosco (SDB), founded by John Bosco in 1859 (approved by the Holy See in 1874), is also known as the Society of Saint Francis de Sales, and is placed under his patronage
The French school of spirituality was the principal devotional influence within the Catholic Church from the mid-17th century through the mid-20th century, not only in France but throughout the Church in most of the world. A development of the Catholic Reformation like the Spanish mystics and the Society of Jesus, it focused the devotional life of the Catholic faithful on a personal experience of the person of Jesus and the quest for personal holiness. It was perhaps more concrete than the Iberian example and thus easier to teach, but it shared with the Spanish saints their focus on the divine person. This movement in Catholic spirituality had many important figures over the centuries, the first being its founder, Cardinal Pierre de Bérulle (1575–1629), along with St. Francis de Sales, who in 1877 was declared a Doctor of the Church.
The Council of Trent (Latin: Concilium Tridentinum), held between 1545 and 1563 in Trent (or Trento), now in northern Italy, was the 19th ecumenical council of the Catholic Church. Prompted by the Protestant Reformation at the time, it has been described as the embodiment of the Counter-Reformation. The Council issued key statements and clarifications of the Church's doctrine and teachings, including scripture, the biblical canon, sacred tradition, original sin, justification, salvation, the sacraments, the Mass, and the veneration of saints[4] and also issued condemnations of what it defined to be heresies committed by proponents of Protestantism. The consequences of the Council were also significant with regard to the Church's liturgy and censorship.
Initiated in part to address the challenges of the Protestant Reformations,[3] the Counter-Reformation was a comprehensive effort arising from the decrees of the Council of Trent. The effort produced apologetic and polemical documents, heresy trials, anti-corruption efforts, spiritual movements, the promotion of new religious orders, and the flourishing of new art and musical styles.
In short, the gun-toting angel was a multifaceted metaphor. “It undoubtedly also reflected the Catholic Counter-Reformation militaristic rhetoric,” wrote Donahue-Wallace, “which promoted the church as an army and heavenly beings as its soldiers.”
BELMÔNT'S SIN: STREET IDENTITY MURAL CROWN APOTHEOSIS;  In religion, apotheosis was a feature of many religions in the ancient world, and some that are active today. It requires a belief that there is a possibility of newly-created gods, so a polytheistic belief system. The major modern religions of Christianity, Islam, and Judaism do not allow for this. In Hellenistic culture, a mural crown identified tutelary deities such as the goddess Tyche (the embodiment of the fortunes of a city, familiar to Romans as Fortuna), and Hestia (the embodiment of the protection of a city, familiar to Romans as Vesta). The high cylindrical polos of Rhea/Cybele too could be rendered as a mural crown in Hellenistic times, specifically designating the mother goddess as patron of a city. Nightlife entertainment is often more adult-oriented than daytime entertainment. Location theory has become an integral part of economic geography, regional science, and spatial economics.
The demiurge (/ˈdɛmi.ɜːrdʒ/) (sometimes spelled as demiurg) is an artisan-like figure responsible for fashioning and maintaining the physical universe. The Gnostics adopted the term demiurge. Although a fashioner, the demiurge is not necessarily the same as the creator figure in the monotheistic sense, because the demiurge itself and the material from which the demiurge fashions the universe are both considered consequences of something else. Depending on the system, they may be considered either uncreated and eternal or the product of some other entity Gnosticism presents a distinction between the highest, unknowable God or Supreme Being and the demiurgic "creator" of the material, identified in some traditions with Yahweh, the God of the Hebrew Bible. Several systems of Gnostic thought present the Demiurge as antagonistic to the will of the Supreme Being, with his creation initially having the malevolent intention of entrapping aspects of the divine in materiality. In other systems, the Demiurge is instead portrayed as "merely" incompetent or foolish: his creation is an unconscious attempt to replicate the divine world (the pleroma) based on faint recollections, and thus ends up fundamentally flawed. Thus, in such systems, the Demiurge is a proposed solution to the problem of evil: while the divine beings are omniscient and omnibenevolent, the Demiurge who rules over our own physical world is not.[15]
An illusion is a distortion of the senses, which can reveal how the mind normally organizes and interprets sensory stimulation. Although illusions distort the human perception of reality, they are generally shared by most people.[1]
Gnostic cosmogony generally presents a distinction between a supreme, hidden God and a malevolent lesser divinity (sometimes associated with the biblical deity Yahweh)[1] who is responsible for creating the material universe. Consequently, Gnostics considered material existence flawed or evil, and held the principal element of salvation to be direct knowledge of the hidden divinity, attained via mystical or esoteric insight. Many Gnostic texts deal not in concepts of sin and repentance, but with illusion and enlightenment.[2] Gnostic writings flourished among certain Christian groups in the Mediterranean world around the second century, when the Fathers of the early Church denounced them as heresy.[3]
The Bible typically describes the Heavenly host as being made up of angels, and gives several descriptions of angels in military terms, such as their encampment (Genesis 32:1–2), command structure (Psalms 91:11–12; Matt.13:41; Rev.7:2), and participation in combat (Job 19:12; Rev.12:7). Other passages indicate other entities make up the divine army, namely stars (Judges 5:20, Isaiah 40:26).[1][full citation needed] In Christian theology, the heavenly host participate in the war in Heaven.
Mystery religions, mystery cults, sacred mysteries or simply mysteries, were religious schools of the Greco-Roman world for which participation was reserved to initiates (mystai).
In religious studies, an ethnic religion is a religion or belief associated with notions of heredity and a particular ethnic group.
The Dionysian Mysteries were a ritual of ancient Greece and Rome which sometimes used intoxicants and other trance-inducing techniques (like dance and music) to remove inhibitions and social constraints, liberating the individual to return to a natural state.
Civil religion, also referred to as a civic religion, is the implicit religious values of a nation, as expressed through public rituals, symbols (such as the national flag), and ceremonies on sacred days and at sacred places (such as monuments, battlefields, or national cemeteries).
Material religion is a framework used by scholars of religion to examine the interaction between religion and material culture. It focuses on the place of objects, images, spaces, and buildings in religious communities. The framework has been promoted by scholars such as Birgit Meyer, Sally Promey, S. Brent Plate, David Morgan, etc.
Material culture is the aspect of culture manifested by the physical objects and architecture of a society. The term is primarily used in archaeology and anthropology, but is also of interest to sociology, geography and history.[1] The field considers artifacts in relation to their specific cultural and historic contexts, communities and belief systems. It includes the usage, consumption, creation and trade of objects as well as the behaviors, norms and rituals that the objects create or take part in.
The doctrine or theory of immanence holds that the divine encompasses or is manifested in the material world. It is held by some philosophical and metaphysical theories of divine presence. Immanence is usually applied in monotheistic, pantheistic, pandeistic, or panentheistic faiths to suggest that the spiritual world permeates the mundane.
1758 manuscript Tableau économique (Economic Table) argued that agricultural surpluses, by flowing through the economy in the form of rent, wages, and purchases were the real economic movers.
Physiocracy (French: physiocratie; from the Greek for "government of nature") is an economic theory developed by a group of 18th-century Age of Enlightenment French economists who believed that the wealth of nations derived solely from the value of "land agriculture" or "land development" and that agricultural products should be highly priced.[1] Their theories originated in France and were most popular during the second half of the 18th century. Physiocracy became one of the first well-developed theories of economics.
The tableau économique is credited as the "first precise formulation" of interdependent systems in economics and the origin of the theory of the multiplier in economics.[5] An analogous table is used in the theory of money creation under fractional-reserve banking by relending of deposits, leading to the money multiplier.
The model Quesnay created consisted of three economic movers. The "Proprietary" class consisted of only landowners. The "Productive" class consisted of all agricultural laborers. The "Sterile" class is made up of artisans and merchants. The flow of production and/or cash between the three classes started with the Proprietary class because they own the land and they buy from both of the other classes.

The Significance of Sleep-Disordered Breathing in Children's Health
Quality sleep is vital for overall well-being, especially in the crucial stages of childhood development. However, the equilibrium of healthy sleep can be disrupted by sleep-disordered breathing (SDB), contributing to a range of health and behavioral challenges. Although the complete ramifications of SDB are not fully comprehended by the medical community, there is mounting evidence suggesting that persistent conditions such as obstructive sleep apnea can lead to hypertension, cardiovascular complications, neurological and psychological issues, metabolic disturbances, and developmental challenges.
Tumblr media
As research on sleep has advanced in recent decades, recognizing the pivotal role of sound sleep, particularly in childhood and formative years, has become imperative. The American Academy of Pediatrics highlights that 1.2% to 5.7% of children experience sleep disruption due to obstructive sleep apnea. These children face a heightened risk of various health issues associated with SDB, with obesity emerging as the predominant concern. Beyond its physical impact, SDB induces substantial psychological stress for both families and affected children, underscoring the need for effective screening methods in clinical settings.
https://breathtechnologies.com/research/sleep-disordered-breathing-children/
A comprehensive insight into the nature and consequences of sleep-disordered breathing in children is presented in a research article authored by Kevin Gipson, Mengdi Lu, and T. Bernard Kinane, available on PubMed Central, a part of the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

Feast of Saint Luke, evangelist
Reflection: Forewarned but Forearmed
Today’s Gospel is a very big reality check. First, it was clear that the original Twelve were not enough for the growing task. He appointed a further seventy- two. Second, the task is not for the faint-hearted and the fearful. He sent them two by two, almost as if to fulfill the law related to needing someone else to stand witness and vouch for what one says and does. Third, the Lord Himself laid down the cards. It was a no-match situation: great harvest but few laborers. But the fourth is the most daunting and most forbidding: “I send you as lambs among wolves.”
I remember the first time I taught catechism as an eighteen-year-old religious. I was sent to a remote barrio high school bordering Calamba, Laguna, and Tagaytay City, Cavite. I knew that some of my students were older than me. I did not feel like a lamb among wolves, but I had butterflies in my stomach the whole first session. The feeling was there every time I faced a totally new assignment.
Now, after forty years as a priest, I understand that the four abovementioned warnings are still true today. Over the decades, new challenges cropped up. Back then, it was only a problem of which radio station and radio personality they rooted for. Then TV took over. The texting culture became the purveyor of culture. Now it is gadgets and the ubiquitous social media platforms, alongside “wokeism,” the cancel culture, and the rejection of truth and grand old narratives that once unified people everywhere. The wolves never left the scene. They grew menacingly fiercer. But the laborers, then and now, are few.
At sixty-eight, I still feel I am not up to the job. I hear a language that is meant to be familiar to me, but I do not understand a whole lot of words that have either evolved in time or been invented by the day. I find myself reading posts in social media and not making heads or tails about a raging brouhaha over something that I must have missed out on.
Thank You, Lord, for the warning—and for the hope.
~Fr. Chito Dimaranan, SDB
Remember to pray for our priests and religious today.
Lord of the harvest, I pray for more young people to hear Your call. Amen.
Prayer
… for a deep and profound respect for life, especially for the unborn.
… for the strength and healing of the sick.
… for the healing and peace of all families.
Finally, we pray for one another, for those who have asked our prayers and for those who need our prayers the most.
GOD BLESS!

Surinaamse dammers klaar voor Curaçao Open 2023
Tumblr media
Read the full article

GOSPEL REFLECTIONS
DIVINE MERCY SUNDAY
John 20: 19 - 31
Liturgical Colour: WHITE
----------------------------------------
6th February 2022, a controversial action was done by Shahrukh Khan, the Bollywood superstar, when he attended the funeral service of Late legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar in Chhatrapati Shivaji stadium, Mumbai. Media made an issue when Shahrukh khan said a whispering prayer at the body of Late Lataji , and removed his wearing mask and blew on the body... The fact is that according to the Islamic belief, he breathed on to the body as part of prayers for the angels to take the body and soul to heavenly abode.
Today, we find something similar and more happening when Jesus breathes the Holy Spirit on to the 11 apostles, who were practically dead, frightened, discouraged. The breath of Christ gives them energy, strength, courage, enthusiasm to revive to be the challenging apostles of Christ with a special mission to be bearer of God's Divine mercy in oder to forgive the sins of the repented ones. They have been empowered by the breath of Christ to be the agents of forgiveness and love, the Sacrament of Reconciliation.
Today is the second Sunday of the Easter, popularity known as Divine Mercy Sunday, God's mercy and compassion flowing through the heart of Jesus for the forgiveness of humanity.
The readings for this Sunday are about God’s mercy, the necessity for trusting Faith, and our need for the forgiveness of our sins. The opening prayer addresses the Father as “God of everlasting Mercy.” In the Responsorial Psalm (Ps 118), we repeat several times, “His mercy endures forever!” God revealed His mercy, first and foremost, in sending His only begotten Son to become our Savior and Lord through His suffering, death, and Resurrection. Divine Mercy is given to us also in each celebration of the Sacraments (all instituted to sanctify us) , especially that of Reconciliation.
The encounter between Jesus and Thomas, the Apostle in the gospel reading of today helps us to grow in the living and dynamic faith:
a) First, we must come to know Jesus personally and intimately by our daily and meditative reading of the Bible.
b) Next, we must strengthen our Faith through our personal and community prayer.
c) Third, we must share in the Divine Life of Jesus by frequenting the Sacraments of Reconciliation and receiving the Holy Eucharist.
"Believing in this love means believing in mercy.”
PRAYER: Lord my loving and compassionate Father, thank you for your Divine Mercy in restoring back all your scattered children through the Sacrament of Reconciliation. May all of us, your children be in a mission to fulfill your plan to bring forgiveness and love the world. We pray that we we experience your gentle breath to gain life, that can bring newness to all whom we meet. Amen

Sleep Apnea Devices Market
Tumblr media
Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is the most common form of sleep-disordered breathing (SDB). It is a partial or complete collapse of the upper airway caused by relaxation of the muscles that control the soft palate and tongue. The prevalence of OSA is steadily increasing, and it is estimated to affect approximately ~3% to 20% of the general population.
The Global Sleep Apnea Devices Market was valued at US$ 5.5 billion in 2021 and is set to witness a healthy growth rate of 7% in the next 5 years. A large number of undiagnosed sleep apnea patients, a shift towards home-sleep testing, favorable reimbursement for sleep apnea devices in key markets such as the U.S., increasing awareness of the negative impact of untreated sleep apnea, availability of funding/grants to revolutionize the diagnosis & treatment for OSA, and foray of a number of companies into the sleep apnea market are some of the key factors driving the global sleep apnea devices market. However, the lack of patient compliance to treatment, especially CPAP therapy, is one of the major challenges that is expected to hamper the market's growth.
Technological Advancements Drives the Sleep Apnea Devices Market
The sleep apnea devices market is a technology-driven market and is characterized by constant product improvements and innovations.
For instance,
In October, 2021, AirAvant Medical introduced a new device called Bongo Rx for the treatment of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). The device is touted as an alternative to continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) and is clinically proven to treat mild to moderate OSA symptoms
In August 2021, Resmed, launched AirSense 11, the next generation of the company’s PAP (positive airway pressure) device. AirSense 11 includes new features such as Personal Therapy Assistant and Care Check-In designed to provide tailored guidance to PAP users, helping ease them into therapy and comfortable nightly use
Move Towards Home Sleep Apnea Test (HSAT) Fuels the Sleep Apnea Devices Market Demand
The traditional way of sleep apnea testing needed an overnight stay at a sleep lab. Though, the trend is quick-changing now and home sleep tests are now increasing in popularity. A home sleep apnea test (HSAT) is an overnight test that is conducted outside the hospital or sleep lab. These tests are conducted using a special device that measures sleep patterns during the night. HSATs cost less, generally require only a few monitors & straps, and can take place in the comfort of a person’s home.
A home sleep apnea test (HSAT) is financially more friendly. It costs ~ $200 to $600, which is fairly less than $800 to $3,000 for an overnight visit to a sleep lab. Also, insurers are increasingly requiring HSAT as a first step before paying for an in-lab sleep apnea test.”- Product Manager, Leading Sleep Apnea Diagnostic Device Manufacturer, United States

The treatment of OSA is also covered in the US. Examples of covered treatments include - Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP), Respiratory Assist Devices including Bilevel Positive Airway Pressure (BiPAP), Mandibular Devices/Oral Appliances
Organic and Inorganic Growth Strategies Adopted by Players to Establish Their Foothold
The sleep apnea devices market is noticeable by the presence of both established and new players. Companies operating in the sleep apnea devices market adopt both organic and inorganic growth strategies such as new product launches, and partnerships to garner market share.
For instance,
In December 2021, ZOLL® Medical Corporation, completed the acquisition of Itamar™ Medical Ltd., a medical device and digital health company that provides at-home testing for sleep apnea
In February 2021, GoPAPfree, a homecare provider of oral appliance therapy for obstructive sleep apnea launched a new oral appliance - O2Vent Optima.
The sleep apnea devices market is a lucrative market that is set to witness decent growth in the coming years due to high-tech developments in diagnostic and therapeutic sleep apnea devices, growing awareness campaigns & initiatives run by governments and manufacturers across the world, and increasing importance & usage of oral appliances.
Competitive Landscape Analysis of Sleep Apnea Devices Market
The sleep apnea devices market is marked by the presence of players such as ResMed, Philips Respironics, Fisher & Paykel Healthcare, SomnoMed, Itamar Medical, Inspire Medical Systems, Compumedics, Oventus Medical, Natus Medical, Drive DeVilbiss Healthcare, Whole You, BMC Medical, among others.

Soviet TU-2 Bomber

Soviet TU-2 Bomber
The Tupolev Tu-2 (Development names ANT-58 and 103, NATO reporting name: Bat) was a twin-engine Soviet (high) speed daylight bomber (SDB) front line bomber (FB) aircraft of World War II vintage. The Tu-2 was tailored to meet a requirement for a high speed bomber or dive-bomber, with a large internal bomb load, and speed similar to that of a single seat fighter. Designed to challenge the German Junkers Ju 88, the Tu-2 proved comparable, and was produced in torpedo, interceptor and reconnaissance versions. The Tu-2 was one of the outstanding combat aircraft of World War II, and, although it did not enter service until 1944, it played a key role in the Red Army's final offensives.

iEra names Claudine Adams in its ‘Top 10 Women Business Founders of 2021′
Tumblr media
There is a certain level of graciousness that every female must carry with her as she navigates her chosen profession, especially a woman in a leadership position. And that graciousness must be skirted by a multi-layer of knowledge, enthusiasm, and confidence about the products and services expected by her clients and what her company can deliver. Claudine Adams possesses a profound knowledge of the products and services that the company can provide and the ability to step back and identify any limitations the company may have. She has identified like-minded partners who can support the mission with quality solutions to help gain the highest possible outcome. She is forward-thinking and is not content with the “status quo.”
Claudine has worked hard to perfect her craft, enhance her knowledge of the intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) industry, and build her business. She is confident in her abilities and is comfortable in those settings where women are/were not traditionally welcomed. When presented with a finished product or idea, Claudine is encouraging and supportive of her staff, with her signature “very nice” comment. And when the situation requires a firm redirection, Claudine is not afraid to broach the issue head-on. Not timid or retiring in her approach to staff or other industry professionals, she communicates her position and conviction. She is acutely aware of her competitors and the complicated, competitive nature of government contracting. With any measure of success comes some disappointments. Claudine treats each setback as a learning opportunity, not only for herself, but to teach other women business owners the lessons, she has learned. As a casual observation, Claudine possesses a charisma that warrants attention in any setting.
As the CEO of a woman-owned, minority-owned, disadvantaged business, primarily an engineering and technology company, Claudine promotes the advancement of women and is proud to champion the causes that help women succeed in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) disciplines. Claudine recognized that the challenges women face in the workforce were not static but were multi-dimensional, and her approach to supporting women is also multi-dimensional.
“Successful Woman-Owned Business. Specializes in System Engineering, Network Operations , Global Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance solutions for DOD and others.”
Claudine affords contracting opportunities and mentorship to other small, disadvantaged business (SDB), Economically Disadvantaged Woman-Owned Small Business (EDWOSB), and Minority-Owned Businesses (MBE), offering expertise in the areas of Software Engineering, Network Engineering, and Human Resources Consulting and affording women, the opportunity to grow their businesses, providing network and industry related experiences.
Claudine Adams serves as the member Chair of the Northeastern Maryland Technology Council (NMTC). NMTC connects successful technology companies, government, and academic leaders into a collective force to accelerate economic growth, build the STEM Educated Workforce and drive technology and innovation in Maryland. In collaboration with NMTC, Claudine and Bravura donated $5000 scholarships to deserving young ladies graduating from Harford County since 2017, resulting in over $100,000 in scholarship dollars to those who otherwise would not be able to go to college or afford their college of choice.
Claudine’s best advice to others is, “go for your own business despite the risk. Create a plan, and then step out there. You can always go back to working for someone else.”
Bravura was born after Claudine was the President of another small business that she grew from small to large. After “cashing out,” she wanted to start her own thing where she could be free to run things as she saw fit. She wanted to show that a small, woman-owned business could do engineering and services work and do it well. Claudine has a heart for our soldiers, so she worked to maintain force protection services for our troops in Afghanistan. The company name means bravery, and they wanted to support the brave troops overseas.
The most significant achievement for Claudine’s company was being awarded a $539M dollar Army contract to maintain aerostat systems overseas. These systems, located at each forward operating base in Afghanistan and Iraq, were key to assuring the safety of our troops. These systems carried sophisticated detection equipment and were operated 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
“Bravura has made significant improvements to the aerostat technology. These include modernizing the ground control stations to be portable and improving the cyber security posture of the networks utilized by the aerostat. For the days to come, Bravura has plans to expand globally.” IEWL

Reflection: Courage!
Today is a good reality check. The reality the Lord speaks about is something that the world has been reeling under through the centuries and millennia. There is no denying that many challenges arise in every imaginable aspect—from climate change to corruption, from terrorism to terrifying calamities. The raging pandemic now counts among those in the topmost of our growing list of concerns.
It is one thing to be aware of reality, but being swamped over by it is quite another. As a counselor, I know the immense consequences of two interconnected things—not being aware of things, and, worse, the incapability or the downright unwillingness to accept the real. The former is simple ignorance. The latter is denial. While the second has further deleterious consequences, the former is not altogether harmless. In this case, ignorance is not bliss.
Merely being informed, however, is not the opposite of ignorance. Social media keeps everyone informed, but every social media savvy guy knows that in this age of info flood, the information passed on is heavily filtered by selective algorithms. If one is a “dilawan,” for example, one sees only news that cater to that political group, and the same is true if one is a DDS(Fox News vs. CNN in the U.S. context).
Today, the Gospel passage gives us an alternative. The Lord counsels us to focus on Him (His person) and His Word. He even acknowledges that He would be left alone when His hour comes, but also proclaims that the Father is with Him. If the question is whether He is in touch with reality, then our answer is a big yes.
But let us now take it one step further. The Lord also tells us to focus on what He says: “that we may have peace.” He adds one more point to give us a greater grasp of reality: “In the world, you shall have distress.”
That hurts. But to be forewarned is to be forearmed. And here is where being formed rather than just being informed comes in handy. What then counts as most important? “Have courage. I have overcome the world.”
~Fr. Chito Dimaranan, SDB
What currently distresses you? How does the Word of God help you overcome your present challenges?
Lord, I need Your Word to help me get through my present trials.
Prayer
… for a deep and profound respect for life, especially for the unborn.
… for the strength and healing of the sick.
… for the healing and peace of all families.
Finally, we pray for one another, for those who have asked our prayers and for those who need our prayers the most.
GOD BLESS!
