Friends, I have seen the *real* #ToneHenge™! Here’s another shot from my visit with @terry_foster, author of “#Fender The Golden Age: 1946 - 1970”, showing a some of Terry’s very early Fender #amps. As a (non-recovering) ampoholic, I can’t tell you how exciting these amps are to me. They illustrate how much #FenderAmps evolved stylistically over a relatively short period. Top Shelf: - 1947 #Model26 (red grill) in blonde finish. - 1946 Model 26 (blue grill) in dark finish. The Model 26 was the forerunner of the famous Fender #Deluxe, still being made to this day. Second shelf: - 1948 #Champion800 in green tweed. - 1948 “#TVFront” #Princeton Third shelf: - 1949 #Champion600 - 1951 #Champion 600 Bottom shelf: 1954 “#WidePanel” #Champ 1955 “#NarrowPanel” Champ - this one is a particularly early example. You’ll notice it has the same “block” logo, small box, and 6” speaker of the Wide Panel Champ on the left.
