It’s a sad day in Salem — today is the funeral for Mayor Abraham Carver (who isn’t actually dead, as we the audience know, but none of these poor saps do.)

Paulina, having passed through the “sarcastic about cactuses” stage of grief, is doing her best under the circumstances. And Chanel, astoundingly, is still being a responsible adult and a supportive daughter!

Theo (Abe’s son) shows up…

…and then Paulina sends Chanel away… for some reason? They make kind of a big deal about how Paulina’s being so insistent about this, while also being quite vague about the reasons, but… it’s just so she can talk to Theo for a minute? So that was nothing. Well, Paulina’s out of her mind with grief, I guess. Not everything she does has to make sense.

Chanel, for her part, continues her supportive streak and leaves as instructed.

Then Theo goes over the eulogy he intends to deliver at the funeral. Which includes this amazing line calling out a dumb thing Paulina did.

Theo, incidentally, is autistic. I admit I don’t know as much about autism as I probably should and maybe (ironically) I’m missing some obvious signs that he’s putting off. But it often feels like the writers forget about this themselves, write him like they would any other character and occasionally throw in a line like “as you know, I’m autistic.” But this was an excellent way to remind us and give us a good laugh — not even at his expense, because that thing Paulina did WAS actually very dumb!

Meanwhile, Steve and John are going over the evidence in The Case of the Missing Mayor again. I suppose the best time to do this is “right before the funeral we’re having because we failed so hard that Abe has been presumed dead.”

Then Chanel stops by. I’m pretty sure I know the answer in this round of Do These Characters Even Know Each Other? (it’s no), but her mom did shoo her out of the house and this is as good a place as any to be, I suppose?

It does allow her to share some information about Nurse Whitley and Jerry (the guy who claimed he saw Abe fall into the river) that actually sheds new light on their case.

These guys are supposed to be seasoned private investigators, both with an extensive background in law enforcement. And this former party girl-turned-baker, who can’t be older than 25, may have just blown the case wide open for them.

Of course, Abe is still fine.

Well. Not fine. He’s still trapped in Nurse Whitley (who we’re now calling Nurse King, apparently?)’s apartment, and still receiving regular injections of heavy sedatives.

But he’s not dead.

Not for the first time, I find myself wondering exactly what Nurse Whitley Kim Coles King is playing at here. Does she want Abe to start believing that she’s actually his wife Paulina? Then what? Surely he’s going to continue to unravel this extremely shoddy tapestry of lies. If nothing else, someone is going to slip and reveal one of her many non-Paulina names to him. Does she really think he’s just going to give up on all of that and settle into a life he clearly hates with a woman he clearly also hates?

The only thing that really makes sense to me, given what we know about her character, is that she eventually wants to dress him up like a cat and then taxidermy him and keep the body on her couch for the rest of her life.

Oh, it turns out there is a next phase to this plan, and it’s not my cat-taxidermy-Abe scenario. It actually involves leaving town.

She advises Jerry to do the same, and offers him a wad of cash to do so.

And she gives us this line, which MUST be a reference to another show streaming on Peacock, right?

And — hey, look! Lani’s still in town! She stops at the DiMera mansion to chat with Kristen. These two are canonically best friends, and not in that “oh shit, Nicole and Chloe are best friends!” way. So it makes total sense that Lani would come over for a little hangout.

She also happens to bring up the fact that Rachel is missing and asks if Kristen kidnapped her. And almost immediately sees through the lie, because KRISTEN, THIS IS YOUR BEST FRIEND OF MANY YEARS WHO IS ALSO A DETECTIVE. DID YOU REALLY THINK YOU WERE GOING TO GET SOMETHING PAST HER?

Also concerned that Rachel has gone missing: her dad, Brady, who’s hanging up posters in the town square.

Then he has a chat with Marlena, who tells him not to worry.

And, look — I’ve made no secret of my love of Marlena. But HIS CHILD IS MISSING. I mean, yes, obviously Kristen has her. But the Salem PD (what’s left of it anyway) searched the DiMera mansion and Brady confronted her personally. So we have no evidence that she actually has Rachel. The kid might actually be in serious danger for all anyone knows! (In fairness, they haven’t read this recap so they don’t know about the conversation with Lani yet.)

Later, after Abe’s funeral, Brady meets his dad at the pub and he basically says what Marlena says: “Rachel’s fine, don’t sweat it.”

Sure. We all just attended a funeral for the last person in this town who went missing. But I’m sure this will all turn out okay.

As promised, Marlena confronts Kristen.

She lays on some pretty thick mom-guilt about how she JUST gave Kristen free hypnosis EARLIER THIS VERY WEEK but Kristen continues to lie. Marlena’s also not buying it, but she’s not familiar enough with Kristen to lay the “bitch” line on her like Lani did.

So that confrontation doesn’t amount to a whole lot, but it does set off a series of other confrontations!

Like Steve, confronting Nurse Kidnapthemayor!

And Lani, confronting Jerry!

Damn it, Jerry!

We may finally be closing in on the actual whereabouts of Abe, who is actually drugged out of his goddamned gourd and watching more Body and Soul!

I was initially a little disappointed in this installment because we’ve already seen these B&S versions of Kate and Jerry and I was hoping to see some performers we hadn’t seen on this show yet.

And so, as if answering this concern, Abe himself — the actual Abe, not a performer who resembles him — appears on the soap, at Lorna DeLorean’s door!

Man, if whatever’s in Nurse Kim-King’s syringe makes you think you live inside a soap, how can I get a prescription?

Michael’s guide to “Day of Days!”

Hello “Day of Days” attendees! I’ve put this guide together to give you a better idea of what exactly happens during Day of Days. Not many details are made available, so hopefully this will help you make the most out of your day at Day of Days!

Please note: This is not an official guide and is only based on my experience as an attendee. I have no official affiliation with Day of Days, Days of Our Lives, or Peacock.

The information in this post is all based on the previous years I’ve attended at Universal CityWalk, and 2022 at Peacock Place (formerly XBox Plaza). This years event is being held once again at Peacock Place in Downtown Los Angeles. This years event will be taking place a few weeks earlier than before on October 21, vs early-mid November.

What is it? Day of Days is a free, all day (10am-5pm) event held every year in the fall to celebrate DOOL and it’s fans! It also serves a press event for the current season of the show. This years event is being held at the Peacock Place at LA Live in Downtown Los Angeles. This is an outdoor space located near famous venues like the Microsoft Theater, and the former Staples Center!

Who’s coming? The event will be hosted by Dishin’ Days host and actor Tony Moore.

The confirmed list of Days of our Lives stars attending “Day of Days” in 2023 is: Deidre Hall (Marlena Evans), Greg Rikaart (Leo Stark), Abigail Klein (Stephanie Johnson), Billy Flynn (Chad DiMera), Brandon Barash (Stefan DiMera), Bryan Dattilo (Lucas Horton), Carson Boatman (Johnny DiMera), Dan Feuerriegel (EJ DiMera), Drake Hogestyn (John Black), Elia Cantu (Det. Jada Hunter), Emily O’Brien(Gwen Rizczech), Eric Martsolf (Brady Black), Galen Gering (Commissioner Rafe Hernandez), Jackee Harry (Mayor Paulina Price), James (Jim) Reynolds (Abe Carver), Linsey Godfrey (Dr. Sarah Horton), Lucas Adams (Dr. Tripp Johnson), Paul Telfer (Xander Cook), Peter Porte (Dimitri Von Leuschner), Raven Bowens (Chanel Dupree), Remington Hoffman (Li Shin), Robert Scott Wilson (Alex Kiriakis), Stacy Haiduk (Kristen DiMera), Stephen Nichols (Steve Johnson), Tamara Braun (Ava Vitali), Victoria Grace (Wendy Shin), and Wally Kurth (Justin Kiriakis).

First, some general tips to remember:

Wear comfy/sensible shoes! You’ll most likely be on your feet/walking a lot. Your feet and back will thank you if you wear shoes with good support.

Bring sunscreen! Peacock Place is completely outdoors. Lots of sunshine and the SoCal sun is intense! Even in cloudy conditions it’s best to put on some SPF.

Bring a jacket. October weather can either be hot like summer, or cool like fall depending on what Mother Nature decides, so always keep an eye on the weather forecast. However this time of year the mornings and evenings can be cool, so a jacket might come in handy early and late in the day.

Bring a good size bottle of water. If the weather is on the warmer side you’ll want to stay properly hydrated! I usually bring a bottle of water, a bottled iced coffee, and some protein (or candy) bars. That way if you’re after autographs and waiting in lines all day you’re well supplied! There is at least one Starbucks too if you need a caffeine fix too!

Bring a backpack/purse! This will come in handy to hold everything. However it might be wise to check out the Peacock Place website to see if there are any kind of bag restrictions. It’s probably safe to say bag checks are a possibility. If someone asks to check your bag, don’t argue. It’s a measure to ensure that everyone has a SAFE and enjoyable time!

BE NICE! Especially to other fans attending and to the staff working the event. The organizers, their staff, and security staff work really hard to ensure everyone has a fun and SAFE time at the event. Be sure to thank them! I know it can be frustrating waiting in long lines, but don’t yell at the staff! They work hard to make sure as many people can get through and again, to have a fun and safe experience! If you’re kind and respectful to them, they’ll be kind and respectful to you.

Don’t use iPads/Tablets/Selfie Sticks to take photos or video when the actors are on the main stage! This blocks the views of people behind you and is a big pet peeve.

Where is it? 2023′s Day of Days will be taking place at Peacock Plaza at LA Live in Downtown Los Angeles. Peacock Place at LA Live is an “entertainment district” in DTLA located in between the Microsoft Theater and the former Staples Center.

Unlike when the event was held at CityWalk, the event at Peacock Place is contained to the “square” shaped area.

Where do I park and how much is it? There is parking on-site at LA Live but last time I checked it was something like $10/hr with a daily max of $30. You’ll pay the daily max if you plan to be at the event the full day. There are other surface lots in the area that are probably less expensive, and will be a bit of a walk from Peacock Place Your best bet for info is to Google beforehand or visit the Peacock Place website for parking info.

The LA Metro Public Transit system is also another way to get to and from Peacock Place. There is a rail line stop a block away from Peacock Place. LA Metro has a convenient trip planner to help plan a trip to LA Live from where ever you are staying in Los Angeles.

Which cast members attend? It’s different each year, but usually about 80% of the current cast attends. Also during the Q&A at the end of the day a special surprise guest is brought out. in 2019 it was Stephen Nichols (Steve). In previous years it was Victoria Konefal (Ciara) before she first aired, Marci Miller (Abigail) and Vanessa Williams (Valerie). The special guests are only brought out at the end and aren’t included during the meet & greets. Last year in 2022, there was no surprise guest, but a special video message from Kristian Alfonso and Peter Reckell (Hope and Bo).

How early should I get there? The event starts at 10am when the cast that’s attending are introduced and walk the red carpet to the main stage.

How early you should get there depends on what you want to get out of the event. The past years’ event schedule has been as follows:

10am: Cast Introduction/Red Carpet 10:30-12:30: Meet & Greet 12:30-2:00: Lunch 2:00-4:00: Meet & Greet 4:15-5:00: Cast Q&A at main stage/Anniversary Cake/Sneak Preview/Special Guest

In 2022, there was a performance by The Day Players, the band featuring Carson Boatman, Eric Martsolf, Wally Kurth, and Brandon Barash, during the lunch hour! And same as last year, The Day Players will be playing a show the day after Day of Days at the Bourbon Room in Hollywood. (You can buy tickets to that show here.)

If you are ok with just casually observing the event and don’t care about waiting in line for autographs and photos, you can arrive right at 10.

If you don’t care about photos and autographs but want a good seat at the main stage or near the red carpet, you should get there 8-8:30am. That might seem really early for a 10am event, but fans are serious and will get there early to snag seats.

If you want to do the meet and greet sessions, you should get there between 8-9am so you can plan out who you want to see. Just a note, you won’t get to meet every cast member attending. It’s impossible! But you can get to a great number of them if you plan a strategy when you see who will be at what station and when.

For lunch if you get hungry, you can check out the LA Live Website for a list of places to get a bite during the lunch break!

Meet and Greet Sessions Some actors might still want to wear a mask during the meet and greets. If an actor is choosing to wear a mask, don’t ask them to remove it. If an actor is choosing to social distance, please respect that.

There are 3 or 4 actors at each station during each meet and greet session, usually grouped by storyline. Lines for the morning session started forming early!! If there’s someone you reeeeeally want to see and they’re in the morning session, you should get in their line right away. If there’s nobody you’re dying to see, then pick whatever line you like! If you’re not picky, I suggest picking whatever the shortest line is first.

The station lines for the afternoon session usually form right after the morning session ends around 12:30. However first few years the event was held they wouldn’t allow lines to form before 1pm, but the last 2 years they allowed lines to form at 12:30.

Once you get through your first line during the meet and greet sessions, you can go chill out and relax for a while, or choose another line! There’s no guarantee you’ll get through a second line but you can try! If you politely ask a staff member they can most likely tell you which station has the shortest line.

In every station line, the staff will hand someone an “end of the line” sign. You can still line up behind the “end of the line” person but anyone behind that sign isn’t guaranteed to get through. Most of the time the sign gets moved further back into the line as time progresses. You can decide whether to try and wait, pick another line, or just go chill and relax!

Autographs are strictly limited to one item per actor per person. Please don’t bring 10 things for each person to sign! Everyone needs a fair shot at getting to see their favorites and the best way to ensure that is to have the one item per person limit. I usually make it easy and have them sign the cards they give you in the goodie bag. The event staff will help move things along when you arrive at the actor’s table. Always do as they ask and thank them!

Photos with the actors are usually not allowed. Having fans move behind the table to take photos is time consuming and holds up the lines. The actors are too nice to say no, so the staff has to be the bad guys and prevent this. Don’t be mean to them if they say no! In some cases the staff will allow you to take a “leaning in” photo, but I wouldn’t expect it. Consider it a bonus if they do! I usually just take photos of the actors and move along.

Cast Q&A/Event Finale: Once you’re finished with the afternoon meet & greet session, head to the main stage area. Around 4:15 the cast will walk the red carpet again onto the stage. The hosts will walk around with microphones and take questions from the fans. After the Q&A, a special sneak preview of upcoming episodes will be shown-similar to the “New Season” preview NBC released in September.

Days Of Our Lives Spoilers For September 2021: Bonnie Is In Trouble, Abigail Finds Her Way Back To Salem

More Days of Our Lives spoilers for the month of September 2021 reveal that Philip’s Days of Our Lives fans, the preview for the upcoming September 2021 is out, and it reveals that viewers will get to see drama and action. There will be a few breakups, some reconciliations, and some amendments. Spoilers suggest that Bonnie will find herself in some trouble.

Then, Abigail will come back, and that will cause some tense situations. Gabi will find herself in a pickle, and Allie will try to reconcile. What more will happen? Keep reading to find out-

BONNIE IS IN TROUBLE:

Starting off the month, Days of Our Lives spoilers suggest that Calista will shake everything up. She will start flirting with Steve Johnson and that will put her on his radar. Spoilers suggest that Steve will not trust Calista. So, she will end up digging the dirt in her past. Since Calista is related to Bonnie, would Bonnie find herself in the hot seat too?

Days of Our Lives spoilers viewers know that Justin&Bonnie are about to get married. But, it looks like they won’t be able to get married very smoothly. Spoilers suggest that Bonnie will surrender to Calista’s pressure and steal the money from Xander’s briefcase. However, she won’t be able to get away with that.

DOOL spoilers suggest that Xander will notice it, and he will crash Bonnie’s wedding with Justice. He will want his money and the answers. Would all of this lead to Bonnie’s crimes coming out? It is possible indeed. Long-time DOOL viewers would recall that Bonnie had killed Calista’s husband. So, could she be heading back to prison for everything? Only time will tell.

Days Of Our Lives: Abigail Comes Back, Tensions Rises With Gwen?

On the other end of the town, spoilers suggest that Gwen will decide that she must come clean to Jack. So, as the spoilers suggest, she might tell Jack the truth about the miscarriage timing and everything else. This will make Jack feel really guilty, and he will reach out to Abigail, asking for a chance to make amends. Days of Our Lives spoilers suggest that Abigail DiMera will be on her way back to Salem this September. So, once she is back, things will heat up between her and Gwen.

More Abigail-related spoilers suggest that Chad has been really worried that his marriage with her will fall apart soon. So, he will confide about it to his close ones. Spoilers suggest that when EJ comes to know about this, he will not want his brother to give up on true love. EJ will nudge Jack into fighting for his love and putting in real efforts to make things work.

Allie Tries To Mend Her Friendship:

Speaking of fixing things, DOOL spoilers suggest that Allie will try to fix her friendship with Chanel Dupree. DOOL viewers know that recently Allie blew up when she came to know about Chanel and Johnnies new relationship. So, she will apologize and hope that they will go back to normal as they gear up for Sweet Bits Bakery’s grand opening. However, Days of Our Lives spoilers also suggest that all of this won’t be as easy. If Chanel remains interested in Johnny, Allie will continue feeling jealous, and that will make the situation worse.

Days Of Our Lives: Gabi’s Truth Is Out

DOOL viewers who have been keeping up know that Gabi Hernandez has been putting a lot of effort into making sure that she overthrows Philip. Now, spoilers suggest that Philip will come to know about it, and he will call Gabi out. It looks like Gabi could get thrown out of the company if she isn’t really careful. More Gabi-related spoilers suggest that things might get tense between her and Jake. This will all be because of her scheming.

Rafe Makes His Moves

Further spoilers suggest that viewers will get to see Ava as she moves out of Rafe’s house after giving up on their romance. While this will be heartbreaking for Ava, spoilers suggest hat Rafe won’t waste a minute. As Celebrity Dirty suggests, Rafe will use this opportunity to reach out to Nicole and pitch the idea of them coming together once again.

Viewers must be aware that Nicole recently took a step back from her friendship with Rafe. She didn’t want to cause trouble. But now that Ava is out, Rafe won’t see why Nicole and he shouldn’t come closer.

More Days of Our Lives spoilers for the month of September 2021 reveal that Philip’s

rivalry with Brady Black will intensify. After Philip and Chloe´s romance fell apart, spoilers suggest that Brady will ask Chloe to move in with him. So, this will all enrage Philip.

On the other end, viewers will get to see Doug Williams, who leaves Julie Williams in a scary situation. It looks like his mental health is deteriorating. So, everyone will start getting concerned about it. While Jack Deveraux will be able to save Julie, they will then join forces to find Doug and help him. Days of Our Lives spoilers suggest that some tough decisions are coming up for both of them.

Finally, viewers will get to see Ben Weston and Ciara Brady Weston as they plan about starting a family.
