CHANEL L'EAU DE MOUSSE

EAU NETTOYANTE MOUSSANTE ANTI-POLLUTION WATER-TO-FOAM CLEANSER. 

Today, I'll be sharing my thoughts on Chanel's anti-pollution water to foam cleanser. I picked this up from my local Myer, at the Chanel counter for $72 AUD. You can get yours here. I've had my eye on this cleanser for a while now, and being a die-hard Chanel cosmetics fan I figured I would treat myself and grab it as my birthday present. I've been using this cleanser for about two weeks, which I feel is enough time to gather my thoughts on the product.

PACKAGING & BOTTLE

The cleanser comes in the usual shiny Chanel black and white skincare packaging, you also get an instruction booklet. The product itself is 150ml, which I find to be a great size. I would also say that the bottle is slightly taller than other cleansers on the market.

The cap is shiny and black with the logo in white on the top, and the bottle is a matte light pink/salmon. The cap seems to be a little tight when first starting out to use it, but has become easier over time (or maybe I have become less scared of breaking it!). The cleanser is a spring loaded pump, which disperses very easily.

PRODUCT TEST:

As promised, the product does disperse foam from the water cleanser in the bottle (it does not come out as water and requires you to activate it into a foam).

The foam is light and fluffy and does have a slight scent to it, similar to other Chanel skincare products (if you haven't smelt it before it is a slight fresh scent). The above picture is 1 pump, and I have been using 2 pumps to wash my face when I am wearing make-up, and only the 1 pump on make-up free days.

Above I have rubbed in 1 pump without water, and you can see that it maintains its foamy texture, I would say that it is a lighter foam. This foam feels fresh on the face and gives a nice sensory experience with the texture and scent.

Above you will notice as I added water there are still a lot of bubbles, which is great since it is disappointing when you have a foam cleanser that dies down as you keep adding water to it. I will mention here that since I am very new to this the above photo is probably not doing the cleanser full justice. I would say that there are more foamy bubbles on the face than the picture I have captured.

If you are wanting a cleanser that removes heavier makeup and are not into any follow-up steps, then I wouldn't recommend this for you as I don't believe it is dense enough to remove a high volume of makeup in one wash (I am usually a light makeup wearer).

I use this and then follow up with Chanel's Micellar Cleansing Water and Invigorating Toner, both on a cotton round to remove any traces of makeup leftover, and to prep for my other skincare products.

Now, I do suffer with sensitive skin and am prone to get red burning eyes whenever I use anything with a scent - but I am happy to report that I have had zero issues with this cleanser whatsoever. I even did the big no-no and rubbed it all over my eyes and then opened them to see what would happen - nothing (yay!).

FINAL THOUGHTS

As someone with combination skin who loves the texture of a foam cleanser but is scared of dry skin - this is it for me - THE ONE.

It takes off my makeup, leaving hardly a trace on my cotton rounds when using my toner and micellar water, doesn't leave a tight feeling after cleansing, doesn't dry my skin, and hasn't broken me out.

I think for me it is worth the higher price tag, and the amount of cleanser seems good for me as someone who doesn't wear makeup every day. I am interested to see how long this bottle will last me.

ANYTHING ELSE?

It's important to me to recommend other options to people who feel like this isn't 'the one' for them. Luckily I have two great options that I feel will suit people on the hunt, and hopefully help them find their perfect cleanser love:

CHANEL LA MOUSSE ANTI-POLLUTION CLEANSING CREAM-TO-FOAM: This cream cleanser is foaming and will remove heavier makeup and really give a deep clean. It retails for $69 AUD. My sister who also has combination skin loves this cleanser (150ml).

SIMPLE VITAL VITAMIN FOAMING CLEANSER: This is good my friends, I was using this one until my Chanel true love came along, and the best part is it's only $12.50 AUD. It now lives in the shower as my shower face wash. It washes off your makeup, makes you feel fresh and doesn't dry out your skin. I never got acne with this one either (150ml).
