I think writeblr is an interesting place because we are all people who want a similar goal: to get someone to listen to our writing. We are alone with our little thoughts and ocs and we want tp have someone to listen to us. So many people send asks and stuff just so we have to chance to talk after each other. I did that too once before I had a break. We put a lot of pressure to sending asks, at least I did.

Tumblr is still a social media, and low interactions hurt because you want that community, people to be interested with, but you can't stand still in a sea of people screaming. You need other people, as other people and not just extensions of your own characters.

I promised myself I wouldn't do anything anymore that would bring me pressure. There are a lot of people that aren't like me right now, who desperately try to push through. I hope that everyobe whp reads this take a big deep breath and try to remember that writing is fun. Don't let feelings of loneliness or low interactions take that from you. Really open your eyes and find fun characters in the sea of dreamers and find that small community who you can get that uplift from.

Of course, you can disagree with me. This is just my fatherly two cents.

Celeste Yarnall is - imho - the most beautiful Jungle queen in movies as she is not only gorgeous but always perfectly coiffed in this Spanish produced amazonian jungle adventure movie which ios not great but salvaged by the presence of Herbert Lom and Christopher Lee who alone make it up for the bad dialogues.

im such a hater about perfumes. i know i never post about it but i am now. im posting nyeow. and i would just like to say that i dont trust ANY perfume that gets sold in Sephora or a department store. i cant think of anything ive smelled that has ever given me a reason to waver on this.

perfume is the most expensive cosmetic for a reason: it is wildly expensive and complicated to make

mixing a good perfume can involve hundreds to thousands of different scents in concert. <- expensive

perfume is absolutely something where you get what you pay for. there is no workaround. if an indie brand is cheaper itll be because their scents are Significantly more simplistic. if its More expensive its because they dont have a corporations ability to buy bulk

almost all of the perfumes sold in a department store are owned by that department store. cosmetics are as dominated by megacorps as any other industry perfume is not an exception

le labo, tom ford, aerin, aramis, fredric malle, jo malone and mac are all owned by estee lauder.

lancome, armani, ysl, ralph lauren, mugler, viktor&rolf, valentino, atelier cologne, margiela and prada are all owned by loreal.

diptyque, malin+goetz, spacenk, susanne kaufmann, byredo, eve lom and kevyn aucoin are owned by manzanita capital a private equity investment company owned by william fisher the son of the founders of the gap.

all of these cosmetics are being made in the same labs with the same ingredients and should cost the same (which is to say not a lot) but they dont. the upcharge is between three and five hundred percent. you are paying for the branding not the quality of the product.

the quality of the product is not very good either! because these are megacorps! use your heads!

A recording of one of my favourite sounds - The Amesbury Buzzbox (my naming) - This is some sort of telecommunications box and it makes a very loud buzz; has done for years. As the recording starts you can hear a lady who passed by in a mobility scooter asking if I'm from the council - she finds the buzzing scary and says it's about time someone looked at it. I said I was recording it off my own back. I assume she thinks I'm recording it to complain about the noise it's making, but in truth I love it and wouldn't want it stopped. The first few seconds are just the X/Y mics on the Zoom H6 which is on a stand on the pavement with some wind shielding, but I've also got a LOM Geofon attached to the box itself and this recording is a mix of the XY tracks and the Geofon. The seismic microphone picks up a lot more of the variation in the buzz, and the X/Y mics pick up the passing traffic as well. I've boosted some of the lower range before exporting to mp3 for Tumblr.
