Changes chapter 51
< Previous chapter
Series masterlist
The house was quiet. Max had left earlier that week, and still Julie hadn't heard anything. Not from him, not from Lucy. She sighed as her fingers brushed through Thorns hair. She couldn't help but feel nervous. What if her mom was not like she remembered. Or what if her mom was disappointed in who she had become? What if she was terrified of vampires and didn't want anything to do with her own daughter anymore?
She took a deep breath, shaking her head slightly. No matter her nerves, she shouldn't think like this. They were away to get her mom, her mom, who had taken such a hit from her going, missing that she was still not alright. Bitterly, Julie thought that it was a thing she and her mom had in common. She still couldn't stand doctors. She still sometimes had the feeling of seeing familiar horrifying faces in the crowds.
She sighed as she walked to the fridge, taking a bloodbag, double checking the type, before putting it in a cup and heating it up.
She waited patiently as the timer went down, looking up when she heard a loud knock on the door. She ignored the beeping of the microwave, instead walking to the door, Thorn following close behind. As she opened it, her cautious look turned into a bright grin.
"Maria!"
"Hey, Jules," the woman smiled. She looked tougher since the last time Julie had seen her. As if she had been fighting and seen horrors, she thought quietly.
"What are you doing here? When you left I-" Julie stopped herself from rambling, stepping aside and opening the door wider. "Come on in."
"After Shelly died, I just couldn't stay here," Maria said quietly, staring at her cup of coffee. "I blamed COL for it, so I spent my time learning how to use guns, how to get in and out of buildings undiscovered. I wanted to take them down."
Julie didn't know what to say, so she just stared at Maria with a not so well hidden amazement in her eyes.
"It was crazy, but it worked? Just a little, I managed to destroy one other chapter."
"You are so cool!" Julie grinned, giving Maria a tight hug. "You're like an action hero!"
Maria laughed, shaking her head. "No," she said, "absolutely not. Believe me. This is just cheaper than any therapy I can afford."
Julie was quiet for a moment before giggling. "I guess it is!" After all, hadn't she done the exact same thing?
"Are you doing this all alone?" She asked softly. Maria nodded.
"I don't want to drag anyone else into this mess."
"We've already destroyed one chapter. We can always help you. It's for a good cause after all."
Maria shook her head, taking Julie's hand in hers. "Jules, you've been fighting this since you were seventeen. You've been fighting for four years. I don't want you to anymore. You found a home, a family - you've had your revenge. Now let me get mine."
The two of them had been so deep in conversation that they hadn't noticed David walking in.
"I agree," he said, startling Julie. "I also think you shouldn't do this alone."
"What do you suggest I do then?"
"Star wants to end COL as well. Michael wants to go along, so I might also just join."
Julie frowned slightly. "Is something going on between you and Michael?"
"Not yet."
"Are you certain this is what you'd do? It's not an easy thing to do."
David shrugged. He looked at Julie before turning his gaze back on Maria. "I've got some wrongs to right."
Later that evening, Julie was alone again. She still didn't know how to feel about her best friend and her brother going out to fight and end the Company of Life, but she did appreciate it. Still, them risking their lives?
As worry overtook her, she grabbed a bowl, some eggs and flower, and began to bake. It kept her mind off of things, and this way, she could give them something for when they were on the road.
After finishing the batter, she filled thirty-six cupcake cups and put them in the oven. The house smelled nice, and the kitchen was cleaned with little to no effort. Julie sighed. It would be weird not to have David or Michael around. Ever since David had taken up her driving lessons, she had become quite good at it, and she became quite close to him. She and Michael had fun, even though her memories of him weren't all there.
Hell, she thought quietly, she was even going to miss Star's quiet presence. Not that she'd let anyone know that. Luckily, Paul, Marko, and Dwayne had all explicitly stated that they'd be staying in Santa Carla.
The oven beeped, and Julie took the first tray of twelve out easily. She grabbed the second, the oven door still open when Max entered the house. His keys rattled against the front door, and Thorn jumped from the couch dancing around the second he heard his master.
As Max walked in, Lucy was close to follow. She was carrying a large bag.
Julie stood there, frozen,a tray of cupcakes in her hands. She looked at the people walking in, looking past Max, looking past Lucy. Staring at the woman entering the house last. A tall, kind looking woman with dark curly hair. The woman whom Julie had seen in flashes of memories, the woman who she had longed to see for so long. As she looked at the woman, she lost grip of the tray, letting the small cakes fall to the ground. Julie didn't care, instead looking at the woman.
The woman stared back, frozen in place in the hallway.
"Mom?"
"Julie?"
The two of them stared at each other before they ran towards the other, holding on tightly. Julie closed her eyes as she breathed her mom in, smelling the familiar scent of vanilla and cinnamon. Her mother held onto her tightly, rushing her hand over her hair as she kept hugging her, as if she was feeling whether or not she was truly there.
"You're alive... you're here.." her mother whispered with tears in her eyes.
"I didn't think I'd ever see you again..."
"Neither did I, sweetheart," her mother pulled away, looking at her. "They told me what happened, what those people did to you,.." she became quiet, really looking at her daughter. "You became a beautiful woman."
"I missed you so much," tears ran down Julie's face as she held on to her mother.
"Me too, darling," her mother smiled softly, leading her to the couch and sitting down.
Lucy had taken the other tray of cupcakes out of the oven and walked into the living room with a plate of cupcakes in one hand and two empty cups in the other. She gave them both some lemonade before leaving the room.
Julie and het mother talked about everything. About how she ended up at the facility, what she'd been through when she got there, how she was changed and how she found her place here.
"Are you happy?"
Julie nodded, smiling brightly.
"Good," her mom smiled. "And Max is treating you well?"
Once again Julie nodded, looking at her mom. "He kind of became my dad."
"I'm glad you found a family." Her mother hugged her again, tightly. "And I'm glad you remember me. When Lucy told me you had trouble remembering things I feared the worst."
"I couldn't remember your face," Julie said quietly, "but I remembered baking together. And having fun."
Her mother was quiet as the two of them sat their, both drinking their drinks and eating their cupcakes.
"Mom?"
"Are you going to stay?"
It was quiet for a moment, before the woman nodded. "I am."
"Will you become like us?"
"I don't know."
"I don't want to lose you again..."
Her mother gave her a sad smile, holding her tightly. "Me neither, darling. I will think about it, I promise you. Until then, I am going to live with Lucy. You can always call, and we can meet up as often as you'd like. I don't want to go, but Lucy and the doctors both said it would be best if we slowly built our relationship up again."
Julie nodded, not really understanding why per se, but accepting it enough. She hugged her mom, waving her goodbye, before making her way up to her room. She closed the door, Thorn jumping inside before she did so, and went to lay down on her bed. She stared at the sunset painted on her walls, remembering with a smile how long ago that was. How different things had been back then. How different things were now.
Over the next couple of weeks, she hung out with her mom often, at one point introducing her to the boys - whom she loved. It was a weird sight to see the three of them being so domestic, exchanging pleasantries, and playing boardgames. But Julie loved it.
Night after night, she began to feel happier, more free, and more home than she had in a long time. Dwayne and her hung out often, Marko and Paul also stepping by whenever they wanted to. Sometimes they had updates about what David, Maria, Michael and Star were doing - with the exciting update being they destroyed a third chapter of COL already, and a boring update being that Michael and David actually got together. It was fun for them, of course, but back at home, everyone already knew it was bound to happen.
Max and Lucy became closer, in such a way that Lucy agreed to turn. It was a wonderful thing to see Max so happy and in love, but it caused an awkward feeling to rise within Julie. After all, her aunt was now also her adopted mom. When she brought up this problem to Paul, he immediately began to sing an old folk tune, I am my own Grandpa, and Julie decided right then and there that she should not be worried about it.
Things were good. Thanksgiving came and went, without a word from David and the others. When Christmas rolled along, things were different. The house was filled with bright lights, and a large christmastree stood in the living room with piles of presents spread out underneath it. Lucy, Julie and Dana - Julie's mom - were working in the kitchen, Lucy making dinner and the mother and daughter working on the deserts.
Tonight, it would be a full house. Max had invited everyone, including Grandpa Emerson (who never dared to set foot in the direction of Max' house because he was sick of vampires) and the Widow Johnson. Both had denied the invitation request, but even then, the house would be filled to the brim. Sam was coming, the boys, David and Michael had returned, and even Maria and Star were joining the Christmas festivities.
That night, the house was filled with laughter and fun. Gifts were being exchanged, food was eaten and at last, when the sun began to rise it was decided everyone could stay here and hide from the sun. With a contend smile, Julie told the others goodnight, walking up to her room. She closed the block out curtains, opening the door when she heard Thorn run up the stairs.
"You want to sleep with me, hm?" She smiled, letting the hellhound in.
She changed into her pyjamas and dropped down on her bed, covering herself with three thick layers of blankets. It was like a warm, cosy cocoon that she knew she'd have trouble to leave the next day. She sighed a deep content sigh, her fingers brushing through Thorns fur. Yes, she thought quietly to herself, after everything she's been through, after everything that changed, she finally felt just right.
She was home.
-----------------------------
So... this is it. It's weird ending this story after working on it for so many months, publishing weekly with occasionally multiple chapters per week. I'm really glad this story is out there now and that it has found some love with you as readers. So thank you for reading and for responding and reblogging - all of your comments really made my day in words I can barely describe.
The next thing I am going to be working on are the requests I have in my inbox (I am so sorry for the incredibly long wait before I uploaded your requests, I wanted to finish Changes before the new year).
After that I'll see. There are some older stories on here that deserve a rewrite (looking at Roseblood, I wrote that stuff when I was sixteen, and boy could it use an update) and of course, there are some stories still in need of getting their final chapters.
Anyways. Long story short, thank you for reading. And happy holidays, and may the new year bring you as much luck and happiness as you need.💜

If you're not writing Michael as a bit of a masochist, what are you even doing? The first time he hung out with his boyfriend, said boyfriend made him trip balls and hallucinate, almost made him drive off a cliff, then talked him into jumping off a bridge, and he came back for more.

Marko decided to make my life a little harder the night before and left a bite mark on my neck... That's not the worse part.
He bit me in a spot where I can't even hide it with the collars if my jacket!! He can be such a brat sometimes. 🙄 I'm not about to pull out the turtleneck in this weather! 😫

Series masterlist
Thorn barked as he heard the rapid knocking on the front door. Julie, no longer comfortably seated on the couch, looked up with a frown. They didn't get visitors.
Cautiously, she walked towards the door, Thorn beside her.
"Hello?"
"Julie?"
The girl groaned, shaking her head in frustration. Why was Star here?
"What do you want?"
"I need your help! Can you open the door?"
With a sigh, she did so, glaring at the older girl. She stayed in the doorway, effectively vlocking the entrance for Star. "What do you want?"
"Listen," Star looked stressed, Julie realised. "I know that we're never going to be friends, and I totally get that. But I really need your help. I - there's this boy I like, and now David has-"
"Why do you come to me if you have boy trouble?"
Star paused, taking a deep breath, a red glare in her eyes. Hunger, and anger, Julie thought quietly. "Because David tricked him."
"Into doing what?" Julie asked, her voice sharp and cold. She already knew.
And she was pissed.
"Changing."
"I hope this place is alright," Max smiled at Lucy as he opened the door to the fanciest restaurant in town. The woman smiled, a blush on her cheeks as she took it all in. The marble counter, the golden details on the door, the crystal chandeliers.
"I would have never dreamt of entering a place like this."
"My treat," Max reassured her, leading her to their table. "I wanted to make a good impression."
"Oh, you don't have to worry about that. You already did in your store."
Both adults chuckled at that, greeting their waitress as they placed their order.
Julie had stormed out of the house, leaving Star behind as she flew up into the sky. She didn't care if she was seen or not. She didn't care if anyone noticed. She flew into the cave, ignoring the surprised shouts from Marko and Paul, ignoring Dwayne and Laddie and the other guy, as she landed right in front of David, not hesitating a single moment before punching him in the face.
"How fucking dare you!"
David stood there frozen, his hand moving to his already purple cheek.
"I don't know what you're talking about."
"Bullshit." Julie's voice was dangerously low, a growl audible beneath her words. "How dare you trick someone into becoming like this!"
He looked at her before laughing. "It's not like I forced him."
Julie glared at him.
"Do you think I was forced?"
He didn't answer that, not looking at her.
"You were forced, right?" Paul asked quietly, not coming to close to her.
"Do you really think they'd tell me what they gave me? What they put into me?" Paul looked away with a sense of shame. Julie sighed, glaring at David. "Not telling him what you are changing him into is forcing him as well."
"Well, I don't think he minds all that much, do you Michael?"
Julie turned around, looking at the stranger in the cave. His brown eyes, brown curls. A lazy smirk - slowly morphing into an expression of shock. She frowned slightly as she stared at him, looking him straight in the eye as he spoke.
"Julie?"
"How about your family?" Max asked as he took a bite of his lobster.
"Well, it's just me and my boys." Lucy smiled. "Michael's almost nineteen. He's great. He just sometimes struggles with the difference between being a child and being an adult and still living with your mom. Sam," she chuckled, "is the complete opposite. He is a lover of anything nerdy and geeky."
"He must enjoy the comicbook store in town then?"
"He's been quite enthusiastic about it. Critical, but in an enthusiastic manner. What's your daughter like?"
"Julie's a sweetheart," Max said, noticing how Lucy froze for just a moment at the mention of that name. "She's a bit quiet but knows what she wants. I think you'll like her, you'll probably meet her sometime when your shifts overlap."
"Did you always want to adopt?"
"I always wanted to have a big, happy family." Max answered truthfully, wondering if he could change his big, angry family back to a happy one.
"Why do I know you?" Julie asked quietly, looking at the not so unfamiliar boy in front of her.
"I'm Michael?" He sounded confused.
Julie thought for a moment, before a name popped up in her head. "Sam?"
"Yes, he's my brother. Why -" he stopped to look at the boys surrounding the two of them. He snapped at David, who sat there watching the scene as if it were the most common thing in the world. "What did you do to her?"
"Nothing."
Julie didn't look away from Michael as she announced they were leaving. She grabbed him by his arms, flying up into the sky as she dragged him along. He screamed, holding on as tight as he could as he closed his eyes, terrified that this was somehow real. He didn't dare to open them until he could feel solid ground under his feet.
"I'm sorry if I hurt you," Julie said quietly. Michael opened his eyes, noticing he was sitting in a roof. He took a deep breath to steady himself before looking at her.
"You've changed."
"How- how do you know me? How do I know you?" She sat down next to him, keeping a bit of distance between the two of them.
Michael frowned, a confused laugh escaping him. "We're family."
"What?" His frown grew bigger. How did she not know?
"My mom is your aunt. We - you disappeared almost two years ago."
"I don't remember you."
"Where did they take you?" Michael asked concerned. Julie looked to her feet as she shook her head slightly.
"A bad place."
"The people you're with now, are you treated well? Did - did David hurt you?"
"David is an asshole. He's been angry with me since I got my voice back, and I was unkind towards Star."
"You know Star?"
Julie sighed, only now fully realising that Michael was the boy Star was talking about. She nodded slightly.
"She told me what David did to you."
"He just gave me some wine, I mean, I figured he spiked it with something but -"
"You've been turned into a half vampire."
Michael looked at her, before bursting out in laughter.
"This is a prank, right? Vampires?"
"I just flew you up here, didn't I?"
"Proof it."
Julie nodded, vamping out. Her brow arched, her eyes turned a yellowish orange, her fangs growing longer and sharper.
"Believe me now, Michael?"

Marko is SUCH a dumpster diver but...not really...more of the type to rip through trash on someones front porch. Shredding through someones garbage and the porch light flips on, old guy inside yells "DAGNABBIT, LINDA, THE GADDAMN RACOONS ARE IN THE TRASH AGAIN!" and his wife is like "WELL GO GET THE BROOM, RON!" and they start fighting while Marko is skittering away with Ron's lost wedding ring (he hasn't told Linda yet but I bet you she's noticed.)

Do you think he'd like... try scenes out to see if it actually works that way? Can you imagine the bedroom scene from part 2, and him just being completely frustrated that his victims keep dying and the movie got it wrong?
Some random Lost Boys headcanons I have:
Marko loves gore and snuff movies. And he'd probably bring a human to snack on during the movie. A bit the same as us eating in front of cooking shows.
You've heard about dad lore, well they have David lore ! Once every blue moon, the man would mutter some random fact about his life in the 19th century. Like, da fuck you mean you met Bram Stocker !?
Max was born out of wedlock.
I just know in my heart that Star is an indie theater & thrift store girl.
The boys can't sew for shit. Star always end up fixing their cloths.
That one is mostly to conciliate the fact that Laddie is officially 11 and that his actor looks younger than anything. Laddie has been a fledgling vampire for 3 years

Little Lamb
Pairing: Poly TLB / Fem!Reader Request: Ok i finally came up with a request for you that as been on my mind for a hot minute. So i was thinking a poly lost boys (or just dwayne or paul if you don't wanna write for poly i don't mind which one) with a fem s/o who just loves doing their hair and styling their outfits, maybe putting makeup on them? Vampires cant see themselves in the mirror so they gotta make sure they look dope somehow! Why not help each other out! Maybe if she's a vampire to they like to return the favor. I have no clue why this just seems like an adorable thing to do. Story Summary: A peaceful night at the Emerson household has you reminiscing about the past Words: 2k Tags/Warnings: The boys live!AU, slight canon plot changes, slight angst, reader having a toxic home life, some fluff A/N: So this may or may not have a part 2, this plot kind of sprang itself on me out of nowhere to be honest. Also sorry that it kind of jumps around a bunch, hopefully it makes sense. It's been a while since I've written for the boys so my brain was going crazy.
@aviradasa
Tumblr media
The Emerson household was alight with life, laughter bouncing off the expansive walls and high sitting ceiling. There was a warm glow from the fireplace, the chill of what could classify as a rainy winter day in Santa Carla quickly snuffed out. The sound of crackling wood blended with the music that played throughout the living room, Creedence Clearwater Revival’s Suzie Q washing over you in a beautiful symphony.
Warmth from the fire crawled up your back as you stood behind Paul, who had perched himself happily on a chair brought in from the dining table.
“Can you stay still?” Your hands settling on Paul’s shoulders, a small smile finding its way to your lips.
His foot bounced harshly against the coral colored carpet on the living room floor, making it harder for you to work on his hair like he had requested. And you didn’t want to risk accidentally burning the back of his neck with your hair straightener, even if it wouldn’t actually do much damage to his cold skin.
Paul’s hair was tangled and ratty, stiff from overuse of a product that you were sure was probably long expired. It took thirty minutes of brushing, and gentle tugging, before you could finally run your fingers freely through the thick golden locks.
“Sorry, sweetcheeks.” He chuckled softly, tilting his head back with a soft smile.
The rest of the boys were scattered about the downstairs of the house.
Dwayne was sitting on the couch, long legs stretched across the cushions of the couch, ankles crossed as he listened to Sam gush about a new comic he had recently bought. Occasionally, the teenager would flip through the colorful pages, showing Dwayne the fight scenes he thought were particularly cool.
David was standing next to Michael, staring down at his Grandfather’s old taxidermy work. They laughed quietly amongst themselves as Michael pointed at the dust covered fox's beady eyes, clearly not made as carefully as his more recent works.
“This thing is fuckin’ freaky, man.” You could hear Michael say as he picked up a beaver with similar beady eyes. David laughed as he poked the glassy faux eyes with his fingers.
Marko was in the kitchen with Star and Laddie, finding the table a perfect place to sit themselves as Marko taught her how to properly sew patches onto her jacket.
You ruffled Paul’s hair, finally done styling the top to be big and wild like he usually had it. What would have been a choppy fringe was curled back, small tufts of hair curling back, making his hair look like a golden ocean of subtle waviness.
“Alright hair’s done.” You say finally, setting down the half empty can of hairspray on the coffee table.
“Sweet! Dwayne, how do I look, man?” Paul leans forward a little, hands tapping against his knees excitedly.
Sam looks over at the blonde, lips quirked up in a smirk “Like an idiot.” The teenager replies, laughing as the vampire shoots him a glare.
“I wasn’t asking for your opinion, squirt. So butt out.”
Their tones were light and joking, no real malice behind their jabs.
It was nice to see that things could smooth over as well as they did after everything that happened two years ago between the Emersons, Max, and the boys. A chaotic fight that ended with Max being torn apart by the six vampires.
The decades of built up anger of his four “sons” reared its wicked head in those final moments. His own creations turned him into nothing, their loyalty had been worn thin long ago. Pieces of torn flesh and scattered limbs was all that remained of his once looming body.
After Max’s death there was no change within the group, the icy grip of immortality still holding tight. A false hope instilled by the Frog brothers, thinking that if the head vampire was killed, it would end everything.
To Michael and Star it was a saddening defeat, disappointment clouding their brains for months on end as they were both forced to come to terms with their new life.
“Max was turned by an old vampire long before I was even a concept to the world. The true “Head Vampire” as you like to call it. It would be almost impossible to find him now.” David had told them a few nights after, growing tired of Michaels complaining.
“The elders hide in the shadows, they aren’t fond of taking risks. The way they live… It’s honestly pathetic.” He chuckled, inhaling what remained of his cigarette before crushing it under his boot.
“So you just expect us to live like this? Like fucking monsters?” Michael glared at him, fists clenching at his sides in irritation.
“Lighten up Emerson, it ain’t all that bad. You’ll see that.” David winked at his unwilling companion, whirling himself around to bark orders at the other vampires.
Their adjustment was chaotic, Star and Michael were on a warpath that needed to be snuffed out quickly before more eyes shifted in their direction.
While humans would never suspect something as impossible as vampires, murderers were never a far away concept.
“You look good Paul.” Dwayne mused, flipping through the comic Sam handed him.
“Awesome.” He smiles, standing quickly and turning to kiss you on the cheek, “You’re the best, sweetheart.”
Marko steps into the living room with a jingle to his step, shaking his jacket a little as he holds it up for you to look at. The new patch he had sewn on was a beautiful piece of art he had cut out from a cloth canvas, a dark castle with subtle moon light casting over the tower peaks.
The jacket was a little newer and darker in contrast to the much more colorful one he usually wore. Most of the things sewn on or hanging from it were things gifted to him by you, Star, and the other boys. He had been working on it for a good month or two now.
“What’cha think?” He asked, “I might end up covering most of it up with more patches. It feels too empty.” He mused, running his index finger over the empty black spaces that stretched past the castle itself. “Paul found some old bottle caps in the cave a few weeks ago, was thinking about using those. Maybe cut up some old shirts, not sure.”
Your eyes drift over towards your duffle bag, having been spending the last night or two sleeping on the couch in the Emerson household.
Your parents were fighting again, and you couldn’t stand being stuck in such a volatile home.
Typically you would find yourself sleeping in the overly decorated corner you had taken up in the cave, but the winding roads were slick from the recent rain storms, a rare but welcome shower to quench the thirst of overly dry foliage.
So you found yourself rubbing your teary eyes on the doorstep, Lucy’s small hands ushering you inside with a kind smile. She didn’t think to pry too much, knowing the environment you grew up in after the many simple talks the two of you have had.
She was more of a mother to you than your own, understanding, comforting, always welcoming you with open arms.
Your fingers tugged on the zipper quickly, digging through your clothes until you fished out an old shirt.
A woman’s painted eyes stared back at you, her fingers twisting oddly above a dark blue crystal ball, dark burgundy scarf covering most of her wild hair, heavy makeup darkening her bright green eyes, the background of the picture was filled with twisting dark purple and pink curtains. The picture adopted quite a similar darkness that adorned Marko’s new project.
“You could use this too, I don’t wear it much anymore.”
He grabbed it from your hand, examining it before smiling. “Hell yeah. Thanks babe.” He made his way back over to the kitchen.
Truthfully you just grabbed whatever your hands touched before stuffing it into your duffle bag, trying to get out of that house as quickly as you possibly could. Most of the shirts you had grabbed in your rush didn’t fit anymore, that being one of them.
There was a slight pang deep in your chest, guilt clawing at your throat.
What else were you meant to do? You wasted away most of your life acting as a shield for your mother, taking the brunt of your step dad’s abuse in order to keep her safe. The truth was that you were simply tired now, no longer sporting the clouded mind of a confused teenager, hell bent on bringing her broken family back together.
A sigh falls from your lips sadly. Your ears perk up slightly as you hear the all too familiar ring of spurs on David’s boots. The black steel toes came into your line of sight as you closed the duffle bag again.
You look up at him with a small forced smile, taking his extended hand. His gloved fingers came up to your cheek, the leathery thumb stroking across your skin as he asked-
“What’s on your mind, doll?” A voice ushered you from your deep thoughts, your fingernails stilling against the dry blood on your knuckles. Your eyes stayed glued to the railing of the boardwalk, unable to look up and allow him- whoever he was- to see the pathetic sadness in your eyes.
“Can I help you with something?” The reply was cold, uninterested in having a conversation with overly curious strangers.
“Well… I don’t think it’s me that’s in need of helping.” There was a light chuckle that came from his lips, “You just looked lonely is all.”
You couldn’t help but roll your eyes, pushing yourself away from the railing. You internally prepare yourself to scold the stranger for bothering you.
Your glare softened though once you looked at him. His piercing eyes swirled with amusement. He was a lot more attractive than you previously assumed he would be, falsely believing that he would be some worn down drunkard looking to score a night alone with a lady.
No, he was beautiful, piercing blue eyes boring straight into your soul, as if he was trying to read your mind.
There was the scruffy start of a beard on his face, an almost flirtatious smirk playing at his dusty pink lips, his blonde hair was styled to stand on the top of his head before sweeping down into a mullet. He wore dark clothes, a layering of a leather jacket, trench coat, and a simple black shirt beneath it all.
He was unlike anyone you had seen walking along the boardwalk. It was almost hypnotizing, drawing you in without your knowledge. He was like a venus flytrap, dangerous yet alluring.
“You look like you need a distraction.”
And a distraction it was. You spent the whole night walking along the boardwalk talking with David, his faithful companions not far behind. You know now that you would have suffered the same fate as Michael and Star if you had taken up his offer for a ride.
But even with your caution, you would continue to seek out David’s presence on the nights you walked beneath the neon glow. Your eyes would wander the throngs of tourists scattered along the boardwalk, hoping to catch a glimpse of the mysterious blonde.
“I’m just worried about my mom.” You finally replied, unable to hide the truth from him.
“I already told you we could deal with that step dad of yours.” David replied softly, he was always so tender with you.
You couldn’t help but smile a little before rolling your eyes, already having this conversation more times than you could count on both hands “David…” Your tone was light.
“I’m just sayin’.” He smirked, holding one hand up in surrender, “I hate seeing you down.”
You felt another pair of arms slide around your waist from behind, Paul’s gaze meeting David’s with a teasing glint.
“Such a big softie, isn’t he?” The blonde chuckled, brushing his nose against the back of your ear lightly before bringing his forehead to your shoulder, “I’m so fucking bored. Can we please go do something.”
You couldn't stop the light laugh that came from you, an all too familiar sentence leaving your mouth.
"What do you have in mind?"
You could practically hear the echo of David's reply ring through your ears, that night flashing through your mind briefly.
“Oh, I’m sure we can find something to entertain ourselves tonight. Isn’t that right boys?”

Tlb x gingersnaps!reader pt 2
Tumblr media
Heres a short pt 2 to my Gingersnaps! Reader. Her nails are growing, her scars are healing and her temper is through the fucking roof. Let's see how this goes. These first chapters are kinda Paul and Marko centered but that will change later on
This got deleted from my Google docs twice so this is it's third time being written. 😭
@vxncevis
Warnings: swearing, mentions of gore, gaslighting the fuck out of David for fun, the ususal.
Pt 1
My masterlist
“It really got you Good. DAMNIT!” Marko shouts as he paces around; it almost reminds you of an animal trapped in a cage.
They had begun looking at my wounds, which, upon further inspection, were already healing. The bleeding had stopped already. So I don't really understand why he's freaking out.
“It's fine, really. I'm ok; look, see, they already stopped bleeding. I'm OK, seriously,” I tell him in an effort to calm his Nerves even though my speech still isn't how it should be due to being lightheaded from the bloodloss previously.
“That's the problem! Those wounds should have killed you. And the only reason they didn't is cause it infected you!” He says back before Paul lets out a sigh.
“He's right. You should have been long dead By the time we got here. Especially having passed out.” he Agrees as I glance Between the two of them in confusion.
“What do you mean infected?! Like I'm gonna turn into one of those things? No. No, I don't wanna be a fucking dog!” I exclaim in fear, I had intended on becoming a vamp once I felt ready but now that has been robbed from me.
“ No, no, listen. There's gotta be some way to stop this From happening, right, Marko?” Paul asks as him as he approaches us with a sigh sliding his hand down his face in a stressed manner before taking a seat next to me.
“ How the hell should I know? The only thing I can think of is Maybe giving her some of the blood that we have back of the cave, but we don't know how it would react with werewolf venom.” He replies with a shrug. All three of us sit in silence for a moment the tension High.
“ I don't know, maybe we should tell David and Dwayne. They know a lot more about this than us. Maybe they could help.” Paul throws out before I spring forward Grabbing hold of his arm.
“ NO! You can't tell them! They Might wanna just kill me. We can't tell them not yet. We can figure this out ourselves! Just Us three, please. Just don't tell them yet!” I plead, unknowingly digging my nails into his jacket as Marko eases me back.
I don't wanna take any chances.i know they probably wouldn't kill me but the thought claws at the back of my head. Though I can't hell but wonder if I may end up hurting them, and I really don't wanna think about that.
“Cool it with the nails girl. Fine. We won't say anything yet. But if this starts getting out of hand then we have to say something deal?” He agrees holding his hands up In surrender.
I let out a breath I didn't know that I was holding at his agreement before we all decide to leave. They help me stand which proves more difficult then I expected.
Marko helped me get to the bikes as Paul scoped up ahead. I didn't release how far I had actually run until we had to backtrack. Maybe it was just more painful due to the wounds; I couldn't tell.
We speed back to the cave as fast as the boys could drive, they snuck me in through a back entrance that I didn't even know about, I quickly made a b-line To my ‘room’ a little spot of the cave covered partially By rocks and old curtains from the hotel, immediately curling up in my bed.
The next night, it felt like a flip switch. The pain was unbearable, and I didn't even wanna move. It felt like period Cramps but worse. Plus it was only Fueling the frustration I've felt all damn day.
“What the hell is your problem?” David asked with an eye roll as he walked past the sofa I was sitting on with Dwayne.
Me and him have been butting heads all day cause of his Cocky ass attitude and his control freak tendency. So of course I naturally gave him a dirty look.
“ what's my problem? You. You and your attitude that's my problem.” I shoot back, earning a side eye from Dwayne, who goes back to minding his own business, not really wanting to put himself between this argument. Though he does enjoy listening To all the drama going on.
“I'm the problem huh? Please enlighten me on what this imaginary attitude is cause I'm lost here.” He snaps back in a sarcastic tone as he takes a step back.
He hates how you've been jumping on his case all night, and his patience is wearing thin.
“ you want a list? Sweetheart, I can go on all night-” I start, but before my frustrations can be vented, Paul and Marko arrive from town with Laddie, who takes one look at me and goes the opposite direction, Which makes me frown a bit.
The kid avoid conflic as much as he can. It's almost like he can sense it when he walks it the room and I hate Being the cause of it.
“Hey, what's going on here?” Paul asks as he evaluates the situation with an unsure look as Marko ventures off, Not before setting the food down. shooting me a look like that of a mother silently scolding a child in the grocery store before he walks away.
“ hes being a dick like usual.” I say as David turns to me in disbelief at the accusation.
“ I'm the dick? I haven't done anything to you today, you've been jumping on my ass since The sun went down!” He defends as Paul jumps in.
Apparently though the only way he knows how to deescalate a situation is to pick a side.
“ I mean you can be a dick sometimes. It's not your fault though dude. You probably just don't realize you sound like one!” Paul tells him with a pat on the shoulder as Dwayne lets out a laugh, which he quickly cuts short, earning a look from all three of us.
“Sorry, I'm just gonna go. Damn,” he says, standing up to leave; he walks past Marko, who is headed over to us.
He Jokingly kicks at Dwayne's shin as he passes, Making him stumble slightly; both men let out chuckles. Dwayne doesn't stop walking though, as he turns to Marko with a grin. “ Why thank you.” he sarcastically states before he disappears into a deeper part of the hotel.
The whole interaction was only background noise though, as David tried to defend himself. “ are you fucking serious? Why is everything that goes wrong In this damn coven my fault?” He asks as Marko takes a seat next to me with a smile.
“ Hey, now you don't get blamed for ‘everything.’ You blame me and Paul for quite a bit.” He interjects, earning a jab in the rip from me.
Even i know it's not the time for marko to start on his bullshit. I just want David to leave me alone.
“That wasn't even the point I was making- am I just going crazy Here? You all were not this stupid yesterday. You know what? I'm out. Figure your shit out by the time I get back.” David shouts as he exits the hotel fully. The sound of his bike speeding off towards town is the only sound for a moment before they both turn to me.
“What the fuck was that? Why the hell Would you start shit with him today? If it comes down to needing his help don't you think it might be best to play nice?” paul exclaims as he turns to me with a look of bewilderment.
“Well, it's not gonna come to me needing his help because we have this covered. Right?” I argue back, a bit unsure of how they both stare back at me like they are hiding something
“Oh my god, what's the problem? Just tell me.”
“so we have a little bad news. Turns out there's only 2 weeks before your first full moon.” marko drops, as paul sits at my other side snatching a slice of the pizza he and paul brought back.
“ Oh, and that speeds up the process leading to your transformation, which can explain why you're acting like a total bitch.” paul adds on with a laugh, as me and Marko look at him in disbelief.
I honestly can't belive he said that to me. But as I begin to process his bullshit marko jumps in.
“dude really? Just cause we are thinking it doesn't mean you gotta say it. ” Marko says to him with a laugh before i actually take a swipe at him with my nails, which have grown a surprising length since the attack.
He Avoids it with ease though, jumping up from the couch and I lunge at him. It's almost like he enjoys me trying to attack him as he does nothing but instigate using Paul's stupid ass word phrasing as a foundation.
I can already tell this is gonna be the most annoying 2 weeks of my life. Though I can't tell if that's me talking or the strange hunger gnawing at my stomach…
The next day I am heading into the lobby of the hotel when someone grabs my arm, yanking me into a darkened area of the cave.
Just as I'm about to strike them they catch my wrist.
“ don't it's just me. I know everything and I may have a solution.”

the implications that show!mat being a hero of the horn has on cauthor have not yet been fully explored! because i'm 90% sure the dragon is also a hero of the horn or hero-adjacent, which would mean mat's and rand's souls are eternally linked to each other in that way. do they get to hang out together in TAR between lifetimes? at the very least, mat would be hanging out in TAR so even though he has a normal non-channeler lifespan and will die before his channeler loved ones, the wondergirls can still visit him in TAR after he dies (rand too if he retains his channeler long lifespan post-TLB idk) and tell him all about how the avimatrandlayne great-grandkids are doing. mat can protect the great-grandkids and all their descendants in their dreams like birgitte does!!!!
also, maybe mat and rand have been born at the same time in other lifetimes too, and will be again! maybe they've saved the world together infinite times! maybe when it's amaresu's soul's turn to save the world, she will call the heroes to fight with her and mat's and rand's souls will show up together as a Battle Couple! maybe the first time mat talks about rand to birgitte in this life she's like "oh i see nothing's changed" "what?" "you're in love with the dragon in every lifetime" "WHAT"
in conclusion, move over birgitte and gaidal, we've got a new pair of Hero Of The Horn Soulmates in town.

TLB!Poly! x Fem Reader
Chapter 4
Chapter 3 / Chapter 5
The obnoxious warm beams of the sun forced their way through the thick patterned curtains. “Ngh…what time is it?” (Y/N) asked herself as she sat up in her bed. Her bed? When did she come home last night? She just remembers the boys & her brother going out and them never coming back, but nothing about going home.
Looking down at her bedside table (Y/N) picked up the little analog alarm clock. Squinting her still tired eyes she saw the big and little hands telling her it was seven thirty-three. “God, why is it so early?” (Y/N) asked herself as she put the clock down and headed down to the kitchen.
She had narrowly missed her mom heading off to work as she heard her pull out of the dirt driveway. “Well that’s one lecture avoided for now,” (Y/N) muttered as she opened the fridge. (Y/N) felt her life flash before her eyes when a voice jumped out from behind, “What’u doin’ up so early?”
“Jesus, grandpa!” (Y/N) exclaimed as she whipped around.
“Better not be goin’ through any of my root beers & oreos, ya hear?” Grandpa aggressively pointed his finger at the still open fridge.
“I don’t plan on it, just gonna make some breakfast. Do you want any?” (Y/N) queried as she rummaged through the fridge.
“Nah that’s all you kiddo, I’m goin’ back to my handy work,” grandpa laughed as he walked to his taxidermy room.
“...Okay then, bacon & eggs for one it is then.”
After breakfast (Y/N) spent some time basking in the vibrant warm glow of the daylight while reading a book in the sun room at the front of the house. She still couldn’t believe how different her life had become in just a short couple of days. Going from having no one but her mom & brothers to have six new, exciting, adventurous and untroubled people in her life. As she was thinking about the changes she started thinking more about the boys and how they were kind ofhot? With their leather clad looks and wind catching bikes. They just lure you in with their standout features and wild personalities. At least they lured (Y/N), like a naive little fish to a worm on a hook…Or maybe she’s the one luring them? No, she’s definitely the one that took the bait…especially as she thought of everytime their briskly cold fingers grazed her body. It was like nothing she had ever felt before.
(Y/N) was so lost in her thoughts about the boys that she hadn’t even noticed her brothers whining at each other upstairs. What is it this time, she thought as she stood up going towards the stairs. “What’s going on up there?” She shouted from the base of the staircase. “Mom’s on the phone!” Sam shouted. (Y/N) walked up just to see what her brother’s were getting up to. “Uh yeah…hey mom, (Y/N)’s here…you should talk to her too,” Michael suggested with a smirk on his face extending the phone to (Y/N). His sister just knew he was too hungover from last night to talk to their mom…why else would he be wearing sunglasses inside? She snatched the phone out of his hands before flipping him off and walking a foot or so away.
“Oh hey mom…what’s up?” (Y/N) asked, cautious about what’s to come.
“Hi sweetie, I was just telling you brother that I’d like the two of you to watch Sam while I’m out tonight,” Her mom’s sweet and soft voice sounded fuzzy over the landline.
“Well I was kind of hoping to go meet up with some friends…” (Y/N) demurred.
“(Y/N) you know how it’s been, I’d just like to have a night for me. Could you two please just watch your brother?”
“But mom-”
“(Y/N), you and Michael can’t just be going out all night whenever you want, I already told your brother all of this. I’d just like to be the one going out tonight,”
(Y/N) sighed, “Yeah of course mom. Stay safe tonight, okay?”
“Of course sweetie, I’ll be a phone call away.”
“Alright, love you…bye,” (Y/N) said as she hung up the phone and handed it back to Michael.
“I’m going back down stairs, no one talk to me for the foreseeable future,” (Y/N) huffed as she stomped down the stairs. She was just so frustrated. Sam is a teenager at this point, he can be by himself! Why should (Y/N) have to stay cooped up in here keeping an eye on him? This girl just wants to use up what little bits of freedom she has left for the summer before she has to go back to college courses and part time job hunting. It’s not that she’s upset with her mom, she’s just upset that her mom told her to stay with Sam as if he were still a baby.
Day turned to night as (Y/N) disgruntledly went back to her book and calmed herself down. At this point the sun had already set and the radiant moonlight seeped into the glass room she was resting in. Barely realizing what time it was (Y/N) looked up from her provocative page and saw the wind picking up, forcing trees to lean their way back and wind chimes ready to take flight. “I haven’t eaten since like 8am…,” she mumbled to herself as she got up and walked to the kitchen where her brother was.
“Hey, want a sandwich, I’m making some for me and Mike,” Sam asked.
“Yeah sure,” his sister sighed as she leaned on the table.
“Still upset?” Sam questioned as he pulled out the bread.
“No, just annoyed now.”
“Yeah of course you are,” Sam snickered.
“What’s that supposed to mean?” Before (Y/N) could get an answer Grandpa came rushing in harshly setting a couple things on the counter as he asked, “Hey anything around here that might pass for uh- a aftershave?”
Sam started looking around before reaching and saying,”How bout some Windex, Grandpa?” he suggested, sniffing the bottle. Oh my god, this is ridiculous (Y/N) thought as she watched this ludicrous scene play out in front of her. “Yeah yeah, let me get some of that, huh?” Grandpa said as he hastily walked towards Sam. Grandpa let out a weird, “Yeahhh…” before rubbing a few spritzes of windex on his face, causing Sam to let out a laugh. As this was happening, Michael sauntered into the kitchen asking, “You got a big date tonight, Grandpa?”
“Yeah hahaha,” Grandpa let out as he walked over to the counter past Michael, “Just gonna drop by some of my handiwork to the widow Johnson.”
“What you stuff for her, Mr. Johnson?” Michael mocked with a smirk.
“That wasn’t funny Mike!” Sam exclaimed as ‘La Cucaracha’ honked outside.
“Yeah, maybe get off your high horse and be respectful a bit?” (Y/N) suggested as she sat on the kitchen counter. Michael glared at his older sister.
Looking up at his older brother, Sam insisted, “I’m going to make you a sandwich.” to which he responded, “Don’t bother.” (Y/N) watched as her brothers bickered and grew ever so slightly more upset and annoyed with each other. Before she could jump in the three were caught off guard by roaring motorcycles, glaring bright lights and the wind causing everything window to open and clatter. “What the hell?” Michael shouted walking closer to the windows. “What’s causing this?” (Y/N) exclaimed as she hopped off the counter and went into the living room with her brothers. The revving of the bikes was not met with whooping and hollering even a faint calling of an all too familiar domineering platinum haired biker. (Y/N) ran to the front door and flung it open with Michael right behind her and Sam shouting, “(Y/N) what are you doing?! Don’t!” but as soon as they all looked outside things went silent, still, mysterious.
“What’s going on guys?” Sam asked as Michael closed the door.
“It’s nothing, don't worry Sammy,” (Y/N) tried reassuring her little brother.
“Go take your bath,” Michael quietly commanded his little brother.
After Sam went upstairs (Y/N) asked, “Michael, what’s going on? Really? Did something happen last night with the boys? Did you get into some kind of trouble?” She followed her brother around expecting an answer. “Leave it alone, (Y/N),” Michael tried hush his sister's interrogation. “No, not until-” she was cut off by her brother whipping around inches away from her saying, “Leave. It. Alone.” Mildly intimidated and extremely annoyed (Y/N) exclaimed, “Fine, whatever! I don’t give a damn anyways,” and stomped upstairs.
(Y/N) decided now was as good a time as any to try and drift off to sleep while reading her book. It’s something that always helps her when she’s stressed, ever since she was a kid. Flopping down on her bed she heard something clamor to the ground. What was that, she thought as she peered over her mattress. It was a walkman, the same walkman she was using when she was in the cave. While (Y/N) got this warm feeling inside, she also had a rush of chills. So the boys really were here? That revving and shouting and screeching was actually them? But how did they disappear so quickly? How did they get the walkman into (Y/N)’s room on the second floor? Things that probably would make sense at any other time but just didn’t at the moment with all that just happened. “I don’t want to think about this anymore,”she murmured to herself, “I’m not sure I really want to,” putting the headphones on, hitting play and opening her book.
There was an atmosphere of tranquility in the air for a few minutes letting (Y/N) enjoy her thrilling novel before she heard a rambunctious thud outside her room. “What the hell?” She whispered as she took off the headphones and got out of bed. Walking out into the hallway and to Sam’s door (Y/N) knocked asking, “Sam, is everything okay?” Without an answer Sam launched open the door and pulled his sister into the room. “(Y/N) he’s a vampire, like a real vampire! The one’s in the movies! He wants to drain our blood! He’s going to tear us apart!” Sam shouted nonsense in his older sister’s face. “What are you talking about?” She asked. She didn’t get an answer, instead Sam picked up the phone right when it rang.
“Hello,” he asked, “Mom, I think we have to have a real long talk about something.” Sam kept going as screaming could be heard from Michael’s bedroom. What the hell, is all (Y/N) could think. “Mom…uh-oh” Sam stammered into the phone, “No,” he paused, “Now we should stay calm,” he paused again, “Oh nothing, nothing,” pause, “Mom, I can’t talk about it over the phone it’s about Michael,” instead of a pause Sam looks past (Y/N) and screamed bloody murder! Thinking this is a prank now (Y/N) looks behind her- NOPE! Her other brother is FLYING OUTSIDE THE DAMN WINDOW. “Holy crap! What is going on?!” (Y/N) shouted as she grabbed onto her not-flying baby brother. Sam kept screaming into the phone and panicking causing their mother to panic as well.
(Y/N) on the other hand wanted to scream but she just sat there in shock trying to make sense of all of this. She wanted to think rationally, maybe it was a prank her conniving little brothers pulled…Sam’s acting was never that good though. Michael doesn’t look like he’s attached to any rope either. Was her brother really flying? Was he really outside a second story window with nothing preventing him from floating off except a telephone cord? When did this start? How did it start? What’s going to happen? All the questions raced through (Y/N) head as she sat in a silent state of panic while both her brothers went crazy.
She snapped back to reality once she heard Michael begging for help, “I’m your brother, open the window!” he screamed hysterically. Running to the window (Y/N) opened it immediately pulling her brother through and keeping him grounded. Sam sat on the ground next to his older siblings. In a huff Michael said, “We have to stick together.” To which Sam asked, “What about mom?” (Y/N) looked over at him and said, “Don’t worry, we’ll think of something.” Sam started to panic again, “I don’t know guys, it’s not like getting a D in school or something.” Michael reassured his little brother that he and (Y/N) would figure it out.
Just as the three of them quieted down their mother came rushing into the house, “Sam?!” She shouted repeatedly running into the house. “Oh Sam are you alright?! You had me scared to death!” Lucy exclaimed, coming up to her son. “He’s fine, mom, he just got frightened by one of his comic books. I’m sorry he called you, I should have checked up on him,” (Y/N) said, putting a hand on her brother’s shoulder. “Yeah, I guess I got a little carried away. That’s all,” Sam said with a shrug.” Oh the look on this poor woman’s face right now…”You got carried away by a comic book?!” oh no. “It was a scary comic, I’m sorry,” Sam was trying his best at least?
“You know, I just about had it with all three of you! You know that?” Lucy jabbed at two of her kids. They knew better than to talk back, everyone in this room has been in this situation one too many times. Lucy turned her head to the kitchen and walked over asking, “What is this mess?!” she continued, “You spill milk all over the kitchen floor and you don’t bother to clean it up?” picking the white milk carton off the floor. “We didn’t-” (Y/N) was cut off as her mom went on to say, “I can’t believe you people, and the refrigerator door-” Blah blah blah, was all (Y/N) as she tuned her family out. She didn’t want to deal with any of it anymore so she walked up to her room ignoring her mother’s shouts and modest threats of “punishment”. She just knew her mom wouldn’t follow, she never does.
Instead of staying in her room (Y/N) snuck out of the house closely behind Michael. She startled her little brother as her shoes broke dried branches and leaves. Whipping his fluffed brunette curls around, “What- damn it (Y/N) be quiet. What are you doing here?” he asked his sister. “You’re going to get your answers, I’m going to get mine. We’ll see who has better luck,” she proclaimed, causing Michael to roll his eyes. “Fine, get on. I’ll drop you off at the boardwalk.”
Everything was as lively and exciting as it usually was down here. The carnival rides and the illuminating neon lights of the arcades & shops made (Y/N) almost nauseous after the night she had. She walked up and down the boardwalk a couple times without seeing any sign of the boys. Where are they? What else could they be doing right now? She mentally asked herself. Suddenly, a cold breath and smooth voice nipped at her neck behind her saying, “Didn’t expect to see you here.” Snapping around (Y/N) was met with David less than an inch from her face.
“I came looking for you,” she revealed with uncertainty in her voice.
“Oh yeah?” the scruffy bleach blonde asked with one eyebrow raised.
“Yeah…where are the others? I want to talk to them too,” (Y/N) shakily demanded looking David in the eye.
“They’re with the bikes, follow me,” David ordered, grabbing (Y/N) by the hand.
After a short walk to the rest of the group (Y/N) could feel the pit forming in her stomach, scared of what’s to come.
“Hey mama, where’ve you been?!” shouted Paul as he spotted (Y/N) and David.
“Man, why does David get special treatment but we don’t?” Marko pouted, seeing David and (Y/N) hold hands.
“Stop making her uncomfortable, guys,” Dwayne quieted the two boys up.
Standing there (Y/N) felt stuck, she was frozen nervous…completely different than how she was just one night ago. She snatched her hand away from David, not realizing he still held onto it. She tried to look anywhere except the boys, her refusal to speak didn’t help the situation.
“Hey, what’s wrong? Are you alright?” asked Marko with what (Y/N) hoped was a look of genuine concern.
“I- uh yeah, I’m just feeling a little off tonight…” she trailed her words.
“Why’s that?” David asked, peering down at her as he lit a cigarette.
“I don’t know…some stuff just happened tonight that made me a little…worried, I guess?”
“Like what? Hope it was nothing too, rev-viting,” Paul snickered as his comment earning him a hard nudge from Dwayne.
“What? Uh no- Actually. You know what? Sort of, it was crashing and loud, then confusing, then shocking, then mildly frightening and I feel like you all have something to do with it!” (Y/N) shouted waving her hands about emphasizing her frustration.
“Someone catches on quick,” David huffed out with his smoke.
“What?” (Y/N) asked.
“Yeah, I thought it’d take her at least a few more days. Like three,” Paul shrugged, grinning down as (Y/N).
“Huh?” was all she could belt out in her confusion.
“Really? I thought a week, maybe more,” Marko chuckled, his stare becoming darker.
“Just let me-,”(Y/N) couldn’t get another word in among the boys.
“C’mon, you don’t give the girl enough credit. We all know she’s smarter than that,” David jested to his friends, swinging an arm around the tense girl next to him, “You’ve figured it out by now, haven’t you, (Y/N)?”
“Most likely,” her voice felt small and deaf to her ears.
“You can say it, don’t be shy,” he assured her, coming up behind her ever so close, enough to just feel his presence as terrorizing as it was right now. He leaned down, his surprisingly warm breath met her ear, “No one will hear you.”
“Oh just stop, you’re vampires,” (Y/N) attested in false confidence, really she was about to barf in her mouth, she was so nervous. “Everything got weird the night you took us to the cave…I kept racking my brain trying to figure out what happened that night that could have made my brother like you. I thought it was something stupid like you lacing our food or the weed making us trip out when we got home. That wasn’t it obviously since Sam was Michael flying too. Then I realized, “Wait, this is only happening to Michael?” then BAM it hit me! The wine wasn’t wine-” Let’s be real no 19-20 sum year olds are going to drink wine to get blasted with friends.
Paul jumped off his bike and up to (Y/N)’s face exclaiming, “We never said it was,” grabbing her waist and bringing her in tight. David pushed the dirty blonde punk off of her, to (Y/N)’s relief, in what could have been a spur of jealousy? No, these guys are staring at this poor girl like she’s table scraps being thrown on the floor for a group of starving caged wolves. Why would they get jealous over who gets to touch her?
“Anyways,” (Y/N) continued, “you gave him blood, who’s blood? I don’t know but it definitely wasn’t human so it must’ve been one of you. And you know what, I don’t care! I don’t care that you’re angry I figured it out! I don’t care if you feel threatened since I know your secret! I don’t care if you drain every once of blood from my body because after the night I’ve had I don’t care about anything right now! I’m scared, I’m frustrated and I’m just really pissed off! How did I go from having a safe, secure normal life one state over to possibly getting eaten by creatures that shouldn’t even exist!I hardly know any of you, I don’t know how you got to Santa Carla, I don’t know where you’re from, who any of you used to be, how many people you’ve killed!? How could I be so naive!? I just- how did I end up here?!” (Y/N) felt her face heat up as warm salted tears kept streaming down her eyes like a river. With every gasp for air between sobs she could feel the lump in her throat getting larger making it more and more difficult to breathe. (Y/N) didn’t realize just how much anger and heartbreak she had built up in her until now, this was just what pushed her over the edge. She tried wiping away her tears with the hem of her sleeves but every rub of fabric made her eyes itchy.
(Y/N) didn’t bother looking up once she felt the secure embrace of a leather dressed vampire with his arms wrapped around her upper back and his chin resting on the top of her head, “We don’t want to “eat” you, you don’t have to worry about that, ever,” Dwayne’s smooth voice, comforting, fixed hold and rhythmic “breathing” were enough to keep (Y/N) from choking between hysteric sobs.
“Let’s go for a ride,” Marko suggested, resting his hand on (Y/N) shoulder. His sudden touch made the poor girl flinch. That may have been the first time Marko ever experienced heart break in his undead life. “Hey man, she’s scared and on edge, let’s chill,” Paul leaned down and whispered to his short curly fry of a friend. “No, it’s cool, I’m down…sorry Marko,”(Y/N)’s voice was hoarse and slimy from all her crying.
“So where are we going?” (Y/N) asked as she jumped up and threw her leg over the back of David’s bike.
“You’ll see,” was David’s only response from the bleach blonde vamp.
“How can I trust you?” (Y/N) asked again, wrapping her arms around his waist, interlocking her fingers tight.
Before speeding off Marko shouted, “You got on the bike didn’t you?!”
The boys came to a screeching halt causing (Y/N) to thrust her body onto David’s back, “Holy fuck guys, are we here?” she exclaimed, confused by the very sudden stop…why are they at a convenience store? “No, just figured we’d get you something to eat for later,” Paul replied, hopping off his bike. “For later? Why not now? (Y/N) asked, pushing up on David’s shoulders to get off his still hot and revving motorcycle. “Trust us, you don’t want to eat right now,” Paul honestly seems like the only one willing to say any words and also seems like the only one willing to go into the store with the puzzled girl of the group. “You guys need to stop being so vague all the time,” she said before walking in with the sandy blonde biker.
After getting food and continuing their ride it wasn’t long before the spirited group reached their final destination; a secluded beachfront park. “Hey Paul,” (Y/N) called out. “Yeah?” the sandy blonde shot back. “Were you just messing with me?” the delish girl asked, fidgeting with her jacket. “Wha’ do you mean?” The bronze medallion chain on his jacket glimmered as he turned towards (Y/N). As the group walked on (Y/N) didn’t notice the boys falling back and slowly disappearing one by one. “I mean back at the convenience store when- Paul? Paul, where you- Paul, Marko, David…Dwayne?” The now disconcerted and very perplexed girl was frantically searching for the group she had arrived with. Distant screams rang out just a few yards away. Instantly (Y/N) started chasing the noise, she just knew it had to be them, it had to be the boys…well they had to be the cause.
What (Y/N) had come across was enough to make anyone throw up the turn tail in fear, but (Y/N)...she couldn’t even move. She felt stuck, like her feet were glued to the grass. Actually, not just her feet, her whole body was frozen solid. It was like if she moved…she’d be next no matter how many times they told her she wouldn’t. “(Y/N)!You made it just in time,” David called out as soon as he saw the petrified girl. He dropped the body, of what looked like a young teenager, onto the ground…a spine tingling crunch could be heard as David needlessly stepped on the kid’s knee cap deforming the body part causing parts of the femur and tibia to peak out amongst torn muscle and flesh. What little blood left in the teen oozed its way out from the injury and the puncture mark on their neck. “Why don’t you come get a closer look,” David announced, raising one of his arms while using the other to wipe blood off of his face. “I…” was all that (Y/N) could muster before the rest of the boys emerged, each doused in rich crimson hemoglobin smothering them from mouth to chest. “(Y/N) it’s alright-” before Dwayne could cautiously continue, “Boo,” Marko whispered in the poor petrified girl's ear. In that very moment she was from pure stone to jelly as she let out a blood curdling shriek and fell to her knees as she tried to run. I’m never going to survive an apocalypse (Y/N) thought to herself. She sat on her knees, hands to her side, head to the sky, her chest rising & falling- lungs gathering as much air as they could. David and the rest of the boys walked up to her, their leader getting down on one knee before grabbing (Y/N) by the chin and pulling her face close. The stench of iron made (Y/N) nose’s burn and eyes water with how strong it was. “You’re cute when you’re scared,” David bit his lip and whispered before shoving the timid girl into the grass and walking away.
“Are you okay?” Dwayne asked as he and Marko trudged over to the meek girl, Paul following close behind. “I…yeah? But no? I don’t know?” she responded just really upset and confused at this point. “David gets off on eating people and scaring them but we didn’t think he’d do that,” Marko explained as Dwayne and himself helped (Y/N) up. “Yeah...I noticed,” was all she could get out at that moment. Marko threw his jacket around (Y/N)’s shoulders revealing his fit yet not overtly muscular arms. That’s a little surprising, (Y/N) thought as she felt a blush creeping across her cheeks. With a smirk as if he knew what she was thinking, the short curly haired biker asked, “Something on your mind?” Averting her gaze she replied, “Nope, we should get back to the bikes.”
The three vamps and their frustrated friend walked back in silence. Even when they met up with David…silence. The ride home…silence. Everything about that night became awkward and silent as (Y/N) let it all sink in.
“Hey, we’re sorry about tonight…It was supposed to be a joke, really,” Paul said as he helped (Y/N) off the bike and to her Grandpa’s front door. “Yeah sure…I’ll see you guys later,” she responded, not even making eye contact before heading inside.
