Summary:

Bucky, a siren from the sea, hears a band playing near the shore, so he swims over to take a look.

This is when he meets Steve, a musician. At first, Bucky wants to eat Steve, but instead Bucky is adopted into Steve's band and his cabaret show. They perform together, and Bucky quickly falls for Steve.

Unfortunately, Steve is already engaged to someone else.

Bucky's siren sister comes to the surface to remind Bucky that if he isn't careful with his heart he could turn into sea foam.

Can you help me find a fic? Steve was a siren and Bucky was still the Winter Soldier and Steve sensed that his hearts desire was not to kill so he lured him into the water but instead of killing him he just took him to an island somewhere.

Any presumptions and expectations he did have went down the drain at the sight of him… of the demon with those ice-cold eyes that watched him. One blink and then the demon was upon him, metal arm wrapped around his throat, like a lion pawing at a mouse.

The cold fingers against his pulse didn’t hurt.

The demon portrayed no evil intent, choosing to wrap its shadows around Steve’s limbs as he leaned his human form closer to the cadet, pink lips ghosting over the shell of Steve’s ear as he breathed the human in.

Bucky Barnes works in an aquarium, as an assistant curator. Steve Rogers also works in an aquarium, as a merman performer; every day he slips on a rubber tail and swims around in the big tank, waving to kids and twirling around in the water. This wouldn’t be a problem for Bucky except…

Except that Bucky is secretly obsessed with merpeople. Key word “secretly”. And it’s a lot harder to contain his fanboying when there’s a living, breathing, not-quite-genuine-but-as-close-as-you’re-gonna-get merman right in his workspace. Together they form the Howling Commandos and fight the good fight before going down in a plane together and getting frozen for decades. When they wake up, canon is more or less restored, minus the part where Bucky was never kidnapped a second time and Steve shapeshifts back and forth from scaley to fleshy. (All very minor details.)
