throughout the night she had namely kept herself near one thing; the buffet. her begrudgingly paying the entrance fee meant that she had all intentions of getting her hundred dollars back through food. which she could proudly say she was way on her way to meeting her target. “you don’t want that,” she comments, seeing another reaching for one of the many options of sweet treats that were on offer. “i’m pretty sure they used salt not sugar.” you’d think she was telling the truth, her tone unchangeable and her expressions somewhat sincere--- a touch different to her usual unreadable features. reality was she was messing, colour her bored with an added splash of immaturity for those that didn’t hold a sense of humour.

Jasper had no idea what he was doing. Between the flashy masks, fancy decorations, and the tailored suit clinging to his frame, he’d never been more out of his element. He was used to leather and denim, cheap beer and bottom shelf whiskey-- not the glitter and lights flashing all around him, and certainly not the concept of dressing up. But tonight, he was shaking it up-- starting with the two freshly filled champagne flutes he snagged from the nearest bar. Raising one to his lips, he sampled the tart liquid and immediately had to resist the overwhelming urge to spit it right back into the glass. Swallowing it down with a shudder and a half-grumble, half-coughing sound, he quickly stashed the glass on a waiter’s tray as he roamed past him.

No champagne for him. 

But he didn’t need it, not when the sight of her in that red dress was more intoxicating than any liquor he’d ever tasted. Drawing to a stop behind Rayanne, a sly grin tugging at the corner of his mouth, Jasper slid his arm around her waist, "Y’know, it should be a crime to look the way you do right now." He ducked his head, his lips hovering next to her ear, "Especially when I can't do anything about it." Handing her the champagne, he gestured around at the party with a warm chuckle, "So, is it everything you ever dreamed of?”

granted he didn’t mind wearing a suit, something about the masquerade ball didn’t sit right with him. then again he always was a bit on the paranoid side. especially when a town get together was involved. he had mostly been trying to make sure that no one caused any trouble. after all the wolves did have an image to protect when it came down to it. they only caused trouble when given the go ahead to do so. he was tired of watching people dance, drink and laugh. that was how he found himself outside of the hall and enjoying a smoke. his mask was discarded on the ground beside him and he didn’t even look up when he heard the sound of footsteps,” can’t stand the bullshit either?”

After having arrived, there was always a different feeling stepping into the building now but he refused to give it much thought. Leo’s gaze moved around the space, taking in practically every face he could although the masks made him have to do several double-takes. It was out of habit, his trust was always at an all time low but in the hall itself, there was a little added bonus even if he didn’t acknowledge it. Once he was satisfied, he maneuvered his way through the crowd, headed directly towards the bar. Leaning onto it he ordered a drink for himself, if he was going to make it through the evening with these people, then he was going to need it. He didn’t turn to look immediately when he felt the presence of another move in beside him, thanking the bartender first before he glanced over at the other. “Shit’s got everyone lookin’ like zorro.”

After a dance or three with a few of the older townsfolk and even the mayor, Adriana had finally gotten free as someone else had stepped in and she took a minute to collect herself. Tonight had started out exciting with everyone wearing masks and dressed to the nines as they lived out a fairy tale ball that she’d only dreamed of attending as a child. It was fun and the latina was hoping that this was exactly what the town of Charming needed, hoping that for once the mayor was right in having a celebration back in town hall so soon. Though as she looked around at the masked attendees having fun on the dance floor or chatting away with their dates, her smile soon returned as things were looking up. 

Making the decision that she could afford a drink or two since it was an open bar and she wasn’t on the clock, she headed towards the bar that was getting quite the amount of action. It was probably a bad idea for drinks to be comped tonight but it wasn’t on her dime and worked out in her favor so who was she to complain. Once she was nearer the bar a smile erupted onto her face as she saw the burly man who was appeared to be alone and she just had to change that. 

“And just why on earth are you by yourself over here?” Taking the space next to Jasper at the bar and turning towards him with brows raised. Until she realized the mask she was wearing was probably covering that part of her face. Or covering her identity as well, she pulled the thing down a little to make sure he knew it was her. “It’s just me, I’ve been having the hardest time telling who’s who tonight because of how nice everyone looks. Is that a tie? I do believe you clean up quite nice Mr. Morrow.” Reciting nothing but the truth as a nice suit really did elevate anyone’s look. 

Turning towards the bartender who had finally showed up to take her order, “Just some white wine for me, and another of whatever he’s having!” Winking at the both of them since it wasn’t like she was paying.
