I am SO flawed. • I am not a perfect wife. I am not a perfect coach. I am not a perfect friend... or daughter or sister. I am not a perfect Christian. • You aren’t either. So why are we trying to be perfect when that’s an impossible level to obtain? It’s exhausting isn’t it?? • I wrote a to-do list for this week and nearly had a full on anxiety attack. How? I kept asking myself. How can I get all this done before I go on vacation? But if I don’t, I won’t be able to enjoy my traveling. I’m not gonna sleep this week. I HAVE to do this stuff because I’ve made promises. My clients deserve this. My business will be a mess if I don’t. I will be a mess. This is literally my thought process this morning. Plus it was pouring rain and my chronic back pain was at an all time high (wonder why). Then I started comparing these “stressors” to others. Wah Tan, get over yourself. This is NOTHING, just wait until you have real problems. Just wait. • Satan get behind me. Prayer, prayer, prayer. More spirit, less flesh. • Sometimes I just say “Jesus” out loud, and the power of His name alone calms me. It’s pretty insane actually. Try it next time you feel overwhelmed. • Just wanted to remind you that it’s not cool to be perfect. What’s cool is that you show up FULLY you and you do your best. Show up with love. Love will take you so much further than unending effort to be perfect. • This picture reminded me of the similar feelings I had today. I felt like I had to look “perfect” for this photo shoot. Wrapped up week 6 of being back on a program regimen in the gym and I have definitely learned I do SO MUCH better with a set routine. That goes with anything. I used to push “spontaneous” so much but that is absolutely not how God wired me lol. I’m more of a semi-spontaneous scheduled person- AKA confusing 😂. I love to pick up and go surprise my family for the night or randomly go on a weekend trip. But majority of my time I just feel so much better with some solid structure. I eat better, think better, serve better and just more me. _________ What makes you, you?
