Cheoah Dam Little Tennessee River in Graham and Swain Counties, North Carolina. - These are all just iPhone pix. The white balance is off but it’s pretty much straight from the camera/phone - A fresh dusting of snow fell just before I took this trip with my father. It was his birthday and all he wanted to do was take a nice ride in the mountains. We traveled the Cherohala Skyway from Tellico Plains, TN into NC. Once we crossed the state line, none of the snow had been cleared. It was one crazy long ride. It wasn’t the distance by the heat. Trust me, Chennai heat was better than what we experienced. Riding through the Cherahola Skyway was fun and the trees on both sides were kind of keeping it cool but it wasn’t enough. Also, one thing that liked and disliked is that you can’t stop in places of your choice. Need to look for these view points. FIRE AND ICE 35°23'56.1"N 84°06'41.0"W . With the sun to our backs and clouds blocking it to left, it created this amazing pop of warm, golden spotlight onto the shoreline of #IndianBoundary . These pops of light, acting like fireworks in the night sky was forever changing the landscape. I would shoot one direction and the light would move, shoot another, it would move. . After dancing around with it, I decided to use a 10 stop ND Filter to slow the shutter speed so that it would smooth the water and to allow the warm glow to paint the landscape naturally. .
