Cherry Creek State Park 3
This was a very welcome surprise along the trail. I had no idea there was a waterfall along the trail! This was an unmarked branch of Cherry Creek, and it was actively undercutting the bank closest to the trail while I was there.

i dont know if we've seen Wren b4,, so here he is!!... i have yet to update his design a bit
Tumblr media
===
Wren had his head hung over his shoulders as boredom overcame him, seeing as he'd been waiting for quite awhile. He stared at the grassy, warm-toned ground, subsequently sighing with an unamused expression, before hearing some footsteps off to the right.
He'd tilt his head to get a look and see a familiar figure, scowling lightly as he fixed his eyes on Sir. He scooted over, adjusting his bag and straightening his posture to be fixed up against the back of the bench he'd been sat on. Sir would have been making his way through the park, humming softly before spotting his brother on the bench. He put on a smile and made his way towards Wren, subsequently sitting down once he got there. Sir leaned against the back of the bench with a relaxed demeanor, waiting for Wren to initiate some form of a conversation; Whether it be a 'hello' or something along those lines, he just waited patiently.
"... Hey. " Wren muttered, keeping his eyes off his sibling and focusing on the nearby creek running under a small bridge. He didn't want to see Sir, but he felt it had been too long since the two talked. "Good afternoon, Wren!" He greeted back eagerly, starkly contrasting Wren's quiet demeanor. "It's nice to see you again!... I'm sorry I never got to apologize after the fight we had at Jovial." He admitted, rubbing the back of his neck with an awkward expression, though trying to keep a warm expression.
Wren would roll his eyes lightly in response, fumbling with the strap on his bag. "It's... Whatever." He'd mutter once more, barely keeping his voice over a mumble. Sir was used to it, but it didn't exactly change how guilty he'd feel knowing Wren wasn't exactly open to talking to him. Especially considering the fact that he'd felt he failed as both a sibling and some sort of parental figure for Wren. Sir couldn't help but frown a little, glancing off to the side and examining the ground. He slowly reached into his own little travel bag and pull out some cherry shaped and flavored gummies, handing the plastic packaged item to Wren. "Here," He started, putting his hands in his lap once Wren took them. "I saw them at a store and remembered you liked cherries, so I thought you'd like them!... Err.. Unless you don't like them anymore, it has been awhile." Sir chuckled, smiling gently.
He'd hold the bag for a few moments, soon opening it and taking one out. ".. Thanks. " He stated, before eating it and placing the baggie in his satchel. "..So... What'd you want?" He asked plainly, not bothering to meet Sir's gaze. "Oh! Right, haha! Well,,... Ehhmm.." Sir would nervously fidget with his tie, glancing off to the side before returning his gaze toward Wren. "I did just want to say sorry.. I do know you're still upset for what had happened but--..." He'd soon be interrupted, frowning lightly. "Don't tell me how I feel." Wren spat, clenching his jaw slightly and scowling. "I'm not forgiving you." He responded with a huff, crossing his arms and glaring off to the side. He didn't even wanna think about it, or hear Sir speak. He was practically a traitor, and stupid, and so easy to hate with his stupid smile. Sir always tried too hard, never left things alone even if they needed to be left alone. He was annoyingly anxious and always asked stupid questions. AND- "Listen.. I know, what I did was... a bit unwise ,but knowing what I know now.. It's better I hadn't taken you with me... Though, letting you stay with dad those couple years wasn't the best choice either." Sir sighed softly, watching as Wren's tensed frame would soon soften, though keeping the upset expression. He didn't respond, although.
Sir would soon smile lovingly and sit back, looking towards the woods in front of them. "... You know you're allowed to tell me what I did wrong,, right? No one's really around us, and it's nice to finally be... Well, out in nature." Sir chuckled, glad to be able to be somewhere else than his work or his apartment. Wren spoke up after a few moments, mumbling under his breath. "..Maybe-.. We shouldn't--.. I just- You-" Wren began to uncross his arms, fidgeting with the strap of his bag and staring at the ground. " Grhhnn.. Have you even gotten better? You left with zero warning besides a small goodbye, change your name, move several states away and then-- DISAPPEAR!! You just.. Cut contact! Especially after all the stunts you pulled and everything you did to dad and mom and-" Wren looked up, staring at Sir. His demeanor had changed and he had a saddened expression on his face filled with guilt and regret, holding a hand over his mouth. He couldn't bare to make eye contact with Wren or even say anything.
"...Was what we even know the truth..?"
Wren's voice asked somewhat shakily, of which snapped Sir out of the small spiral he was pulling himself into. "Wh.. What?" Sir responded, pulling himself to look at Wren. "I.. You just-.. We-... Listen,, he's been lying, hasn't he?" ===
cpoguhs and smiles not my best work but this was just a one off situation i thought would be fun to write!!! yippie yahoo!! this is missing so much context but ooooo maybe i'll come back with more ooo spooky haejhhehee idk if this is even canon but maybe it will be ahehehehee @therealjackdsaf

pronouns & gender: she/her & cis woman
sexuality: bisexual
birth date: February 23, 1997
birth place: Mobile, Alabama
arrival to merrock: 20 years ago
housing: Historic Downtown
occupation: Park Ranger
work place: Merrock State Park
family: mother
relationship status: single
PERSONALITY
Peach blows in on a breeze. If there's a bottom to her well, it hasn't been hit yet. She's quick to sniff out a party, or to strike up a conversation with a stranger. She leads with kindness and a smile and occasionally an ill made brownie. (The first two work well, the third not so much.) She enjoys things a little left of center and doesn't suffer bullies easily. Though no one would consider her organized, she does have a prudent sort of responsibility. At times forgetful, it is more like in the course of a friendship with Peach that she will turn up at the eleventh hour with a bottle of vodka and a solution. Some people might find that frustrating, but Peach has found her niche and decided to ignore the critiques.
WRITTEN BY: Kate (she/her, est.
BACKGROUND / BIO
triggering / sensitive content: death
Peach Jones likes to get lost. That is when the fun begins.
Her first steps and first smiles belonged to Alabama. Her parents were young, even, by admission, a little foolish. One week after walking across a stage for their high school diplomas they were walking into a drug store for a pregnancy test. As her mom likes to say, Peach kept the tongues wagging all summer. As was her custom, she arrived late with no apologies. Her name came down to her in a Jones family tradition. From Grandma Clementine, to mother Cherry, and on to Peach.
Her parents tried to do well by her, but they weren't built to last. Before Peach's third birthday, they were trading off weekends and growing in different directions. In those days, the sunlight spilt over. Peach's memories of Alabama all taste of lemon and dress themselves in yellow. She remembers sunburns and thunderstorms. There were Mardi Gras and block parties and the tilt of a southern accent. They were happy years when a father could arrive in a pick-up truck and whisk her away for ice cream and mini golf. And, just as their roots dug in they were ripped right up.
At six, a great aunt passed and, to the favored niece, went the little townhome in Maine. It was a whim and Cherry was quite good at those. She packed a car, dressed a daughter, and hit the road. The distance would rewrite bits of Peach's story. Space would grow between her and her father, between the new family he'd start properly. She'd miss her grandmother's cooking and stories. But, inevitably, she'd learn to love Merrock. She'd trade thunderstorms for crisp autumn nights filled with stars, and lemonade for lobster.
In Merrock, her mother opened a vintage and thrift clothing store in downtown. She never lost her accent, but Peach's waned as she grew and turned into a whisper. It was little time before she made friends and settled down in the town. She tended toward the adventurous, and was never too far from a skinned knee in those days. At the footsteps of Arcadia National Park, her love for nature learned to breathe. She was a girl scout and a wanderer. She was lost so many times during a troup hike that they assigned her a personal minder. Getting lost never fazed her though, she'd find little creeks and moss covered ferns, and deer. One day a park ranger found her asleep at the foot of an oak and walked her back personally. From that day on, she was sold.
In high school, she met a boy. Matthew was a fisherman's son and an anime enthusiast. They'd spend sunday mornings on a boat and sunday afternoons in his basement with dvds on repeat. Naruto and Death Note tucked in next to her succulent collection. Peach thinks they could have been everything and that is what hurts the most. The autumn he went over the railing of his father's boat, was the same autumn she received early acceptance into an undergrad program. She stumbled that first year in school, but her mother never let her knees touch the ground. The pain is quieter now but she still marks the anniversary and tucks his collections away.
When she graduated, Peach wasted no time in securing her position at Merrock State Park. At the start, she was young and fresh as spring rain, but she's grown since then. Her job is her passion and one of the only things she takes seriously in life. She still lives with her mother and their immortally grumpy cat. She even still helps at the thrift store. But whether it's at the shop, the marina, or the bar it's likely her badge is pinned just below a smile.

About
An aurora (plural: auroras, aurorae), also known as the Polar lights, is a natural light display found in the Earth's skies. It is most commonly seen in high-latitude areas (around the Arctic or Antarctic). The auroras are dynamic patterns of bright lights that cover the sky in a variety of ways, including rays and spirals, curtains, flickers, or rays.
The solar winds cause disturbances in the magnetic field. Major disturbances are caused by enhancements in speed of the sun's energy from coronal hole and solar mass ejections. These disturbances affect the trajectory of charged particles within the magnetospheric Plasma. These particles, mainly electrons and protons, precipitate into the upper atmosphere (thermosphere/exosphere). The resulting Ionization, and excitation of atmospheric constituents produce light of different colour and complexity. The acceleration of precipitating particles also affects the form of aurora. It can be found in bands around both the polar regions.
The auroras can be found on most of the planets in our Solar System.

Best Places Around the Area to See Fall Foliage!
Tumblr media
Autumn’s natural glory will soon be ablaze with color, making it a great time to plan your leaf-peeping. Mid-October is generally the best time to start seeking out fall foliage, and the colors can continue well into November. For an animated map showing the progression of color across the U.S., check out this online illustration from The Farmer’s Almanac.
So where should you go locally to experience autumn at its finest? Here we offer some of the best spots in the DMV for photographing fall scenery – whether it’s for dynamic social media posts, placing your pictures in a frame, or just taking snapshots with your mind.
Tidal Basin
Washington, D.C.
Spanning 107 acres, but just 10 feet deep, the Tidal Basin is well known for its lovely cherry blossoms in the spring, but in the fall these same trees turn a beautiful orange and gold! Enjoy a stroll around an easy two-mile loop.
Theodore Roosevelt Island
George Washington Memorial Parkway Arlington, VA
A two-mile path follows the island’s shore, moving into the swamp and tidal inlet where nature frames views of Washington, D.C. Buy the book “Finding Solace at Theodore Roosevelt Island” by Melanie Choukas-Bradley for an even more meaningful meander.
State Arboretum of Virginia
Blandy Experimental Farm Boyce, VA
Virginia’s State Arboretum spans 172 acres of tree and shrub collections dating back to the early 1930s. You can also experience the glorious golden 300 tree Ginkgo grove every fall.
Georgetown’s Cobblestone neighborhoods
Georgetown, D.C.
Georgetown is renowned for federalist architecture, cobblestone streets, and historic brick and frame row houses, some of which date to the mid-1700s. It’s also an origination point for the historic C & O Canal, a National Park which runs 184.5 miles into Cumberland, Md. Enjoy a fall stroll and consider taking a guided tour.
Rock Creek Park
Washington, D.C.
Created in 1890, Rock Creek Park is the oldest urban park in the National Park Service. Its 1,754 acres generally follows the Potomac River tributary of Rock Creek and includes a golf course, equestrian trails, an amphitheater, and picnic and playground facilities. It also includes Peirce Mill, a water-powered grist mill built in the 1820s.
Seneca Creek State Park
Gaithersburg, MD
More than 50 miles of trails wind through a variety of habitat, including the 90-acre Clopper Lake. A restored 19th-century cabin adds charm to your fall photographs.
Great Falls Park
McLean, VA
Three overlooks within a short walk front the Great Falls Park Virginia Visitor Center allow for spectacular scenery. Two of the overlooks are handicap and stroller accessible.
Great Falls Park
Potomac, MD
Visit the Great Falls Tavern Visitor Center on the Maryland side of Great Falls Park, located at mile 14.3 along the C&O Canal towpath in Montgomery County, Md.
Shenandoah National Park
Luray, VA
Located in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Va., the park stretches 105 miles from the northern entrance in Front Royal to the southern entrance near Waynesboro. Skyline Drive is the main road running the span of the park – a scenic byway that can get especially busy during peak leaf-peeping times.
Harpers Ferry National Historical Park
Harpers Ferry, WV
Almost Heaven, but just a hop, skip, and a jump from the D.C. Metro area, Harpers Ferry is a time capsule nestled in the Blue Ridge mountains where the Shenandoah and Potomac rivers come together and continue eastward to the Chesapeake Bay as the Potomac river. Unfortunately, this fall’s rockslide stabilization project will make the travel to Harpers Ferry a bit tricky, so check your options online or through your favorite phone app.
South Mountain State Park
Boonsboro, MD
This 40-mile park weaves along South Mountain Ridge. Visitors can walk the same paths as the Civil War soldiers who fought at the 1862 Battle of South Mountain, climbing to enjoy breathtaking views.
Rappahannock River Heritage Trail
Fredericksburg, VA
This paved pathway makes for an easy walk, but don’t let the pavement fool you – beautiful views of the Rappahannock River, Old Mill Park, and several historic mills are seen throughout the trail.

Best Hotels in Denver, CO
Introduction
Denver is a city of unexpected surprises. From the bustling streets of downtown Denver to the serene nature trails of Red Rocks Park, there's no shortage of things to do and places to explore in this beautiful city. It's also one of America's top destinations for foodies—where else can you find such an impressive array of restaurants? Whether you're visiting with friends or family, there are plenty of hotels that cater to every type and budget. Here are some great options:
The Curtis - Denver
The Curtis is a luxury boutique hotel in downtown Denver. The property has only 50 rooms and it is situated in an old building that has been renovated to include modern amenities. It's located between Larimer Square and Union Station, so guests can walk to many of the city's best restaurants, shops, galleries, and bars within minutes of their room.
The hotel offers several types of suites including one-bedroom loft suites with kitchenettes; two bedroom loft suites with kitchens; penthouse suites with private rooftop terraces overlooking downtown Denver; junior bridal suites which are perfect for honeymoons or anniversaries (they come with champagne!). There are also five luxury spa rooms that feature hydrotherapy tubs!
Guests love this hotel because it feels like a home away from home while still offering all of the benefits of staying at a top-notch luxury property such as free WiFi throughout all areas including guest rooms (which means you won't have any issues if you forgot your charger). Some people have complained about noise coming from other rooms but overall most reviewers give positive feedback about this property's location being close enough yet far enough away from busy streets so there isn't much traffic noise during nighttime hours when most people would be sleeping anyway!
Crawford Hotel
Crawford Hotel
This hotel is located in the LoDo neighborhood, which is home to many restaurants and bars. It's also close to Union Station, so it's easy to get around town from here. The rooms are spacious and modern, with large windows that let you enjoy the city views. If you want something more intimate, ask for one of their "loft" rooms--they're smaller than normal but have a cozy feel that makes them feel like a home away from home.
The Crawford Bar serves seasonal cocktails made with local ingredients like fresh mint and cucumber watermelon juice (it sounds weird but trust us). Their food menu includes dishes like braised short rib tacos with black beans or grilled salmon salad with arugula pesto dressing
Four Seasons Hotel Denver
The Four Seasons Hotel Denver is located in the heart of downtown, making it easy to access all the best things to do in Denver. The hotel has a rooftop pool with stunning views of the Rocky Mountains, an on-site spa and fitness center, and several restaurants serving top cuisine like steak frites and wagyu beef burgers.
While each room at this five-star property features high ceilings with windows overlooking downtown Denver, some rooms also have balconies that offer additional space for relaxing or enjoying the fresh air (and another amazing view).
Brown Palace Hotel and Spa
Location: The Brown Palace Hotel and Spa is located in downtown Denver, just a short walk from the Denver Art Museum and the Colorado State Capitol. It's also close to many restaurants, shops, and bars.
Amenities: The hotel has over 500 rooms with private balconies that overlook either Downtown Denver or Cherry Creek Reservoir Park. All rooms include WiFi access as well as luxurious beds with Egyptian cotton linens. Some even have fireplaces or jetted tubs!
Price Range: Rooms start at $269 per night depending on seasonality (which is pretty good considering this place was built in 1892). They do offer packages where you can get spa treatments along with your stay if you want some extra pampering while visiting the city!
Restaurant/Bar: Two restaurants are available at The Brown Palace Hotel & Spa: Avanti Ristorante Italiano serves up classic Italian cuisine while La Petite Maison offers French fare like escargot & steak frites along with cocktails made from locally sourced ingredients such as Treaty Oak Distilling Co.'s gin or C Squared Ciders' pear cider."
JW Marriott Denver Cherry Creek
The JW Marriott Denver Cherry Creek is located in Cherry Creek, one of the most affluent neighborhoods in Denver. This hotel offers a 24-hour fitness center, business center and pool. It also has an on-site restaurant and lounge as well as a bar for those looking to unwind after a long day of work or play.
Greentech Renewables Denver
Greentech Renewables is a solar and wind energy company that was founded in 2008 by CEO Eric Mueller. It has since grown to become one of the largest renewable energy companies in the United States, with offices in Colorado, California, and New York. The company operates over 100 wind farms and more than 700 megawatts of solar capacity throughout North America.
Denver Emissions Technical Center
Denver Emissions Technical Center (DETC) is a non-profit organization that provides training and certification for individuals who want to work in the environmental field. It was established in 1998 by a group of local businesses that saw the need for more qualified people to help with air quality issues facing Denver and other cities across Colorado. The Denver Emissions Technical Center is a facility that provides testing services for vehicles and engines. It was founded in 2006 by President R.J. Huth, who wanted to create a one-stop shop for vehicle emissions testing in the area.
