How Tails and Knuckles *could* react to Sonamy in the SCU?

I've been considering a number of possible theories to how Tails and Knuckles will react to Sonic and Amy's -obvious to all but them-chemistry in the SCU. Let's just say I've got two very opposing points of view of where they could go with this plot line and how they'll also develop Amy's sisterly relationship with both Tails and Knuckles.

I give some credit to @ficsinhistory (@redlikerosesandflowers) for inspiring some of my theories here and also @lucidheart3 in whose discussion and theories inspired some of my own as well.

Option 1:

Option 1 is an option that I'm sure most fans agree with as I've heard them share similar thoughts themselves (I believe @wherearedagrapes might be one of them). That Sonic doesn't warm up to Amy at first, either because he doesn't immediately trust her and/or he dislikes her take-charge attitude of acting like she's taking over as leader of his team. He's probably annoyed with her bossy attitude, intimidated at having competition for leadership, and possibly even jealous because he feels that his brothers like her more than they like him.

Tails immediately is taken by Amy's affectionate nature, her street smarts and because she's interested in his love tinkering and has almost as good a knowledge of technology as he has. Knuckles is a little slower to impress as he assumes that Amy is going to be "a scared little girl with a toy hammer", but Amy is quick to prove she's as strong and as capable of a fighter as he is, and that he shouldn't be quick to judge her by her cute and feminine appearance. Let's just say that Knuckle is very quickly impressed by Amy's strength and courage. He'll probably repeat Thor's impressed and blunt statement "I like this one."

I could see Sonic and Amy constantly bickering and butting heads, leaving the family to remark that two sound like an old married couple. I could see Sonic going into a long and irritated rant about how annoying he finds the pink hedgehog, though in that rant there are some pretty clear hints of Sonic's in-denial attraction to Amy, which Tails and Knuckles are quick to pick up on and tease him about.

Eventually Sonic and Amy learn to work together and soon a friendship based on empathy and mutual understanding grows between them. It's from there that it becomes clear that mutual feelings are growing between them, as scary and confusing as it is to Sonic and even Amy at first.

Option 2:

For this option I imagine that Amy doesn't meet Tails and Knuckles until the middle of the film and by that time her and Sonic have already had some time to bond and work together as a team against the Metal Sonic duplicates. They've had time to form a friendship in their short time together.

When Sonic is finally reunited with his brothers, they aren't immediately impressed with how taken Sonic seems with Amy. Knuckles is annoyed that Sonic is letting his head get turned round by a pretty girl (though he admits she's an impressive fighter) and is concerned that he'll let his obvious new feelings for Amy distract him in his responsibilities as leader of their tribe.

I reckon this famous scene from The Lion King could be a great example of Sonic and Amy's growing feelings for each other and their conflicted emotions as a result. I would exclude the diving into the water part though as Sonic is terrified of water. Maybe him running through a field of flowers and scattering the pollen could work instead.

Tails and Knuckles could act the part of Timon and Pumbaa being concerned that their adoptive brother falling in love could mean the end of their team:

I imagine Tails in particular acting jealous of Sonic paying so much attention to Amy. Though what really hits him hard is when Amy says to Sonic "We really make a good team, Sonic. You know...you and I could really do great things back home. Do you think...you'd might consider...coming back with me?" Sonic replies in such a way that sounds like he's considering Amy's offer and Tails -who overhears the conversation- is devastated and runs away in tears at the thought of losing his beloved big brother and best friend.

It could be a moment where we see even more of Tails' angstier side and the side with a fear of losing his family and being abandoned. It could also be a moment where Amy goes to find Tails and the two end up in a dangerous situation in which they have to work together to get out of it alive. It's a moment where they have to learn to trust each other and where the first sparks of their little brother and big sister bond begins to grow. These moments in Brother Bear 2 between Koda and Nita could be a very loose example:

Of course, the real tender moment happens when Sonic and Tails are reunited and Tails cries out of fear of losing Sonic, saying: "You can't leave! Our team...it wouldn't be the same without you! You're our leader! (tearfully) Please...don't leave...you're my best friend, Sonic. You're my brother. We need you. I need you."

Sonic comfortingly puts his hand on Tails' shoulder and says with confidence "I'm not going anywhere, buddy. I'll never abandon my family. Not ever." The two brothers embrace each other in a warm hug and eventually Knuckles goes to join them with the promise that they'll always be there for each other. Amy looks on fondly, if a bit wistfully, knowing that Sonic has to stay with his family...and soon...she must sadly leave him.

Amy builds her sisterly bond with both Tails and Knuckles and by the time she has to say goodbye to them, she's pretty much in tears. They all (particularly Sonic) try to encourage Amy to stay with them, she says as much as she would love to stay, she knows that she has to return to her home world to rebuild it after Metal Sonic's defeat. As she bids goodbye to them, Tails gives Amy a special phone with a special antenna that enables her to video call them from other planets and galaxies (and hopefully realms). He asks her to promise to keep in touch and to visit them whenever she can. Amy responds with "You know I will." and two affectionately hug. She also says her goodbyes to Knuckles, Tom, Maddie and even Ozzy (with lots of licks, cuddles and pats.)

As Sonic is about to say goodbye to Amy, Tails whispers "You know, Sonic, if you want to go with Amy...that's okay. No matter what...we'll always be a team. A family." Knuckles also gives an encouraging nod. Tom and Maddie are less convinced but tell Sonic to do what is best for him.

Sonic, as much as he's going to miss Amy, knows he can't leave his family, and sadly tells Amy that he's needed here. She nods and says she understands. The two say their bittersweet goodbye, promising that no matter how far apart they are, deep down they'll always be together.

I'm using this scene from Disney's Pocahontas as reference of how I very loosely see this scene playing out. If this movie is considered offensive to any of you then please don't feel obliged to watch the clip. Obviously, I don't see it being exactly the same (I imagine Amy pecking Sonic on the cheek, hugging him, and understanding why they have to part ways), but I imagine the bittersweetness of the goodbye still being the same:

Nicknames for Amy in the SCU

I thought of a list of nicknames that I imagine Amy being called in the SCU. I'd love to hear your thoughts on them.

Various:

Rosy the Rascal - Amy's vigilante name that she's called on wanted posters.

Sonic:

Girl hedgehog - What he calls her when they first meet and before they become friends.

Missy - When he's annoyed at her.

Lady Thor the Hedgehog - In reference to Amy's Piko Piko hammer and powerhouse strength.

Pretzel Lady Junior - Sonic calls Amy this as she proves to be as flexible as Maddie when doing yoga, martial arts, gymnastics/acrobatics and dancing. He also calls her this because both women are very similar in their personalities.

Ames - We can't not include Sonic's affectionate nickname for Amy. ����😁🥰

Sweet Amy - Sonic's very private affectionate nickname for Amy. 🥰🥺

It might be a bit of a stretch, but if Parmount and the SCU writers do officially make Sonic and Amy girlfriend and boyfriend (if SEGA will allow it in this universe) I could see them calling each other "babe" to mirror Tom and Maddie's relationship. It may be awkward when it's first said, but overtime it could become natural for them.

That or they have their own personal nicknames for each other.

Knuckles:

Pink Hedgehog and maybe Girl Hedgehog too

Honourable Lady Hedgehog Warrior

Sonic's Mate or Hedgehog's Mate - Mostly said to tease Sonic but also to encourage him to start a relationship with Amy.

Tails:

Sonic's girlfriend - To tease Sonic and encourage a relationship between him and Amy.

Maddie:

Honey/"Hon" and/or Sweetie - Maddie's affectionate term of endearment for Amy, much like how Tom calls Sonic "buddy" and "bud".

Girlfriend/"Girl" - her affectionate name for Amy when they show great teamwork or when she agrees with her.

Rachel:

Girlfriend/"Girl" - Much like Maddie.

Sister - Her sassy name for Amy (and maybe Rouge when she appears).

Tom:

Sonic's Maddie - Something that he calls Amy when he's in private with Maddie. Both because of how similar she is to Maddie, but more so because he can tell that Sonic has found his "special friend" in Amy, just like he did himself with Maddie.

Dr Robotnik (if he's still alive and/or we meet a different version of him):

Sonic's Little Girlfriend - said in taunting manner.

You Little Pink Pest - His insulting nickname for Amy.

Agent Stone

Sister - Stone's semi-friendly nickname for her.

Rouge (if she's ever introduced in the SCU):

Kid/Kiddo, Little Girl, Sister - Names used to taunt Amy

Pink - Her friendly nickname for Amy.

Sonamy Moments parallels I hope we'll see in the SCU part 1

These are different Sonamy moments from the comics, TV shows and games that I think could make great parallels in the SCU films. Even if they aren't direct parallels, at the very least I think they could make great inspiration for how I imagine they write Sonic and Amy's relationship in the movies.

I'll do this in several posts as there's a lot of content to get through.

Sonic comics:

Sonic IDW comics:

These are good examples of how I imagine Sonic and Amy teasing, bantering and even flirting with each other. They certainly have a Tom and Maddie parallel vibe to their banter. I could certainly hear Amy saying playfully "Don't make me slap you" to Sonic's playful rambles:

The two of them working together as a fighting team:

This moment where Amy admits she loves Sonic exactly as he is and that she wouldn't change him for anything. I could see this moment happening with Sonic being at his lowest point, feeling he's not good enough to defeat Metal Sonic. He may have moment where he says out loud: "He's a better Sonic than me." and Amy's like:

"No...he's not. I know Metal Sonic... and he's not half the Sonic you are. You have the most beautiful and courageous heart of anyone I've ever met. That's something Metal Sonic will never have."

She may name all the ways in which Sonic is more flawed than Metal Sonic, but tells him that she loves him exactly the way he is and wouldn't change him for anything. It could be a tender moment of solidfying their loyalty and friendship and shows hints of their romantic feelings for each other growing and bubbling beneath the surface:

Archie (reboot) Comics:

Bantering, teasing and bickering like an old married couple. They definitely remind me of Tom and Maddie in their dynamic here.

How Sonic would react if Amy ever got hurt, and how she would reassure him that she's tougher than she looks. I definitely imagine him being protective of her even if he knows she can take care of herself:

Amy's Chaos Powers

From observing Amy's hammer in the Sonic 3 mid-credits, it's pretty clear that it is powered by Chaos magic. The question is: does the magic come directly from the hammer or does Amy wield the hammer with her own powers.

I have 2 different theories:

Amy has her own chaos magic within her which gives her the strength to lift and wield her hammer. She may also have the power of levitation as well to possibly direct the hammer to her.

The power is in the hammer itself. Either Amy trained hard to be able to wield this power and/or it chose her as its wielder (e.g. a Thor situation).

What are your favourite and most iconic Amy Rose moments, poses and/or lines that you hope they'll reference and/or parallel in Sonic Cinematic Universe? It can be anything from the video games, TV shows/cartoons, comics, online webisodes, merchandise and/or even popular fandom stuff. Basically it's anything you think could be great material to show who Amy is as a character and what you think could be great Easter Egg material for her in future Sonic movies.

While I still would like Sonamy dance sequence and I think the song "Shut and Dance with Me" by WALK THE MOON would be a good song for the dance sequence, I also think it would suit another cute situation I hope we get in the SCU.

Maybe Sonic takes Amy on a literal "speed date" through New York when he learns of her spending her life in isolation out fear of humans and/or her whereabouts being discovered by Metal Sonic and not truly enjoying the life because of it. He decides to give Amy the experience she's always wanted of seeing NYC. He carries her bridal style and runs super fast to different locations (e.g. Broadway, Coney Island, the Statue of Liberty, etc) so they can enjoy the entire city together. It plays out like a falling in love montage as this song plays in the background. They could even add the dance sequence a little in the middle or the end. 😉😁

I could see it looking similar to one of my recent favourite falling-in-love montages from Elemental. I could see them exchanging looks before quickly looking away, e.g. Sonic being the shy one and Amy smiling at Sonic fondly (though I could see it working the other way as well) (0:40 to 0:47 and 1:09 to 1:14), them enjoying the New York view together (0:48 to 0:58) and dancing goofily together (1:50 to 2:14).

Amy Rose and Maddie moment in SCU

I would love it if Amy and Maddie have their own adventure together, say in an Amy Rose TV series, movie or even a short film.

I would love to see the movie set up like a girl's road-trip, much like Sonic and Tom in the first Sonic movie and Knuckles and Wade in the Knuckles TV series. Story wise, I imagine the story parallels Amy's plot line in Sonic Adventure and is mixed with a more family friendly version of Thelma and Louise.

Maybe it starts out with Amy and Maddie on a girl's only bird and animal watching trip together and discover a little lost alien Flicky bird who wants to be reunited with its family. Both Amy and Maddie are only too willing to help the little bird reunite with its family.

Things only become more dangerous and complicated though when G.U.N (or perhaps the two former G.U.N agents Agent Willoughby and Agent Mason) get involved in attempting to capture the Flicky bird who Amy affectionately names Birdie.

Amy empathises with Birdie over losing his/her family and is determined to reunite the bird with its family at any cost. She is definitely the more reckless of the duo. Maddie meanwhile is the more cautious of the duo who gets frustrated with Amy when she makes reckless decisions.

Perhaps both females struggle with their inner demons with Amy struggling with her past failures in possibly losing her old home and family, which explains why she's so determined to return Birdie to their family. While Maddie struggles with her almost losing Tom when G.U.N threatens harm to her family unless she and Amy turn Birdie in. It leaves her feeling torn over her and Amy's quest and whether or not it's worth it.

Maybe Tom could be the exact opposite of Darryl and plays the role of the super supportive husband and when G.U.N tells him to convince Maddie to abort the mission, he instead yells into the sheriff speaker phone "Keep going, babe! I believe in you!"

Maybe they could do a spoof of this Thelma and Louise end scene of the two driving off the cliff rather than getting caught.

I could see the speech beforehand being a little different though:

Amy: "We can't give up now, Maddie! We can't let them have, Birdie!" (pauses and thinks) Let's keep driving!"

Maddie: "Amy, we're trapped! There's nowhere to go!"

Amy: (calmly and determinedly) "Let's make that jump."

Maddie: "Are you crazy?!"

Amy: "Come on, like Thelma and Louise, let's keep going."

Maddie: "Amy, I really don't think that movie had the happy ending you're imagining. There's no way we can make that jump."

Amy: "We can make it. We will make it! (looks pleadingly at Maddie who looks scared and uncertain) Maddie, please trust me."

Maddie: (she hesitates but suddenly becomes determined and brave) "Alright...let's do this."

The two girls lock hands as they drive off the edge of the cliff, but rather than falling to their deaths, they are saved by Birdie's family. The entire flock are able to lift the car and fly away to safety. It could spoof also E.T the Extra-Terrestrial, Spirit: Stallion of the Cimmaron, and even Harry Potter and the Chambers of Secrets.

In the end, Birdie is reunited with his/her family and Amy and Maddie journey home, proud to have their mission be a success. They end with a high-five/fist bump and them jamming to their favourite tunes.

Rouge the Bat in the SCU

I thought I'd share my thoughts for Rouge to characters I think match her personality and character arc. I thought they could possibly give reference to this in the SCU.

In terms of Rouge's character generally I definitely see similarites to her and Catwoman as they're both flirtatious, morally-grey women with a love for gems and strong, stoic men.

Rouge's cunning and mysterious agent side reminds a lot of Natasha Romanov/Black Widow. I definitely think Scarlett Johansson would be a good candidate for the voice of Rouge in the SCU. She could have the tough but vulnerable side of Natasha, the seductive charm of Kaa the Snake, and the sass of Ash the Porcupine.

I could see some similarites to her and Kitty Softpaws too. Maybe if Scarlett Johansson doesn't work out they could consider a Latina actress like Salma Hayak (Kitty's voice) or Jennifer Lopez (the orginal inspiration for Rouge's character design).

Either way, she'll definitely play the role as femme fatale, agent and treasure hunter. All with a possibly troubled past.

Team Dark's Role in the SCU

I've been thinking about a number theories about how Team Dark characters like Rouge the Bat and E-123 Omega will be introduced to the SCU. Some fans have doubts they'll be able to make Rouge and Omega's roles fit into the new storyline, but I've got a number of theories of how they can make their storylines work in the new SCU plot. Plus continually adapt Shadow's storyline while also referencing past game material.

I've reference @redlikerosesandflowers post here as I hope my theories answer some of her questions:

Forgive me I get any Sonic information wrong as my knowledge about these characters and their storylines come mainly from searching the internet and watching YouTube videos. I'm mostly a SCU fan I admit.

Characters:

Shadow:

I believe Shadow could make another appearance in the post-credits scene of Sonic 4 and/or will continue his story in more thorough details in a Shadow spin-off film.

To answer @redlikerosesandflowers question, I think they won't but also will do the amnesia storyline for Shadow in his next appearance. Let me explain. I believe in a way they already are doing the amnesia storyline in that Shadow doesn't remember where he came from and who he is and has been asking these questions about himself even before he lost Maria - the only friend and family member he's ever known. 😔

After surviving his sacrifice to save Earth, I imagine Shadow going through an identity crisis as he no longer knows what to do with his life or what his purpose is. In a way he's a bit like Wolverine in this way, only more child-like and angsty rather than just plain bitter.

I definitely believe that they'll explore more of Shadow's origin story, particularly how he was created by Black Doom, the leader of the Black Arms, though rather than him being made by Gerald Robotnik with the addition of Black Doom's blood, perhaps Black Doom created Shadow from other organic material and perhaps even alien hedgehog DNA. Perhaps the Mobian hedgehog species is going extinct due the Black Arms killing off clans in order to collect this "material". Overall, while Shadow does have Black Doom's blood in his veins which strengthens his powers, his hedgehog DNA could also habour natural powers for themselves, including his respect for life and nature.

Unbeknownst to Black Doom (and even Shadow himself) being a product of natural life as well as the darkness of his creator, Shadow does have the strength and willpower to choose for himself and not be controlled like a puppet like his "father" assumes. He's both a product of light and darkness, he means he can choose for himself which path he wants to take, and has the power to resist Black Doom's control over him. His desire to break fear from this bondage is thing that sets him free.

While Shadow somewhat agrees with Black Doom that humanity is capable of cruelty and evil, he also sees their capablity for good as he remembers the love he shared with his beloved friend, Maria. He rejects Black Doom's mission to destroy humanity and points out his creator's own hypocrisy in his cruelty and arrogance. Shadow chooses for himself to protect humanity, in hope that there are more of them like Maria and because he believes that protecting them is what she would have truly wanted. Therefore Shadow discovers his true purpose.

I imagine the Shadow spin-off taking inspiration from the Shadow the Hedgehog video game with perhaps the Team Dark team up parts taking inspiration from Sonic Adventure 2 and Sonic Heroes. Obviously the SCU writers will have to adapt the story to better fit Rouge and Omega's roles in the story.

*Warning* - Course language/religious profanity and distressing content

Rouge:

I believe that Rouge's role in the Shadow spin-off will be as a bounty-hunter for G.U.N, who they pragmatically use on the logic that the only way to capture an alien is to hire another one to do the job for them (though Director Rockwell doesn't trust her and often keeps tabs on her). Her role is to capture Shadow and bring him back to G.U.N headquarters so he can be contained for good. As a reward she'll be given valuable Earth gems as payment and also....her own personal protection and freedom. She has no personal attachment to G.U.N, working for them only to save her own skin and get paid for her work in the progress.

Either Shadow knows from the start that Rouge works for G.U.N and despises her for it, and he often attempts to escape from her clutches. Or maybe they'll make it a surprise reveal where she gets Shadow to trust her but then betrays him to G.U.N, but not without some guilt. 😔 Maybe she tries to redeem herself by freeing him later on.

Rouge has been described as "enigmatic and mysterious" which makes me wonder if giving Rouge a backstory might ruin that image. Though I also feel that giving her a backstory makes sense for her in the SCU and will make her more sympathetic to the audience.

In my mind I imagine that Rouge grew up in an orphanage and was treated very poorly by her caretakers, who may have been thieves and con-artists, using orphans to line their own pockets (kind of like Fagin's group from Oliver Twist and a crueller version of the Ravagers from Guardians of the Galaxy). She is now on the run from her cruel guardians after she stole valuable gems from them to start a new life for herself.

Rouge learnt to take care of herself by stealing and using others to get what she wanted. She often relied on her charm and street-smarts to get herself out of trouble. She also learnt at a young age to trust nobody and to rely on nobody but herself. She therefore has a cynical and jaded outlook on life. Secretly though, she's a lonely young bat woman who secretly longs for friends and a family of her own (not that she'd ever admit it), but doesn't believe that will ever happen for her.

Rouge soon discovers that when she was really young she had a family once and that they were a family of treasure hunters and adventurers. She learns that her family was killed by the guardians who raised her, all for the sake of killing off their rivals for the treasure. They kept Young Rouge alive as she showed promise and decided to use her for their own selfish reasons. This gives Rouge motive to stop her former guardians and give her family justice for their deaths.

Through meeting Shadow she discovers they are kindred spirits and she develops a soft spot for him. 🥹 She also warms up to Omega as well, though to lesser extent. The three build Team Dark after they bond and work together to defeat their enemies.

In later films she meets Sonic, his team and the Wachowski family, and becomes their allies with time. We also see hints of the Rouge/Knuckles/Shadow love triangle as well. 😉

She could still work as an agent for G.U.N in later movies, but her role with them goes from selfish and pragmatic to a little more neutral (she still loves gems as payment 🤭😉), if say there are members of G.U..N who develop more sympathy towards the aliens and are willing to protect and understand them rather than destroy and/or contain them (my beats are on Randall and Rachel). Either way, I could see her playing the role as a double agent in the SCU, as her official profile describes her. Deep down she'll always first be a treasure hunter, arguing that hunting down rare treasures is "in [her] blood." It's both as a dedication to her family as well as a personal thrill for her.

Omega:

Though my knowledge about E-123 Omega is limited, I imagine that Omega could be one of the "assests" that G.U.N took from Dr. Robotnik. Perhaps Robotnik created him and the E-100 units as a back-up to his Badniks in his world domination plan, but G.U.N took them over before he could put them to good use. Maybe he scrapped them as "useless prototypes" for not having the same physical mobility that his Badniks had.

During his imprisonment in G.U.N's headquarters, Omega develops a consciousness of his own and vows revenge against G.U.N for imprisoning him and against his maker for abandoning him (though he has yet to learn if his maker is still alive or not). I imagine him and Shadow butting heads at first, but eventually they develop a deeper understanding and empathy for each other due to them both being held hostage by G.UN and used as tools by the Robotnik's. They become something of Vitriolic Best Buds (though maybe less the best part though) in that they constantly bicker and compete, but secretly care for each other.

I could see Knuckles and Omega bonding and having an understanding of each other as the literal-minded muscle of their respective groups (which probably annoys their other team mates). Maybe him and Tails have soft spots for each other too as Tails is the adorable child who is good with machines. He'll probably treat Omega like a person and not just a machine. 🥺

Team Dark movie comparisons:

I imagine Team Dark's relationship with each other mirroring the relationship between the team members of the Guardians the Galaxy in that they're all a bunch of misfits and outcasts with shady pasts and backgrounds who come together to save the world and find friendship and to lesser extent a found family (though not quite as close as the Wachowski's and their boys are). I would certainly classify both groups as anti-heroes.

I can see this kind of motivational speech happening to unite the group. I feel it suits them really well:

I could also see future movies with X-Men style storylines and Team Dark playing a big part in it. I imagine with the knowledge of aliens living on Earth becoming known to the public creates a lot fear in human population. No thanks to G.U.N's influence, many humans believe the aliens to be dangerous and should be captured and even destroyed.

Sonic, his family and family friends like Wade and his family take X-Men like roles in showing that they want live peacefully amongst humans and be accepted into society. I believe both Amy and Jojo (much to her mother and step-father's dismay) may even become outspoken advocates for the rights of aliens on Earth. For them to be treated as equal citizens to humans. They use footage of Team Sonic's good deeds to prove they're here to protect humanity and not to harm it.

I could see Shadow being skeptical of Team Sonic (and perhaps Team Amy's) methods and he perhaps takes it on himself to destroy G.U.N, taking on a lone anti-hero version of the Brotherhood of Mutants role. Maybe Rouge tries to convince Shadow drop the vigilante role and join G.U.N along with her (and maybe Omega). Shadow is definitely like "Whose side are you on?!" and Rouge argues that if he wants to take down G.U.N, you have to do it from within. She argues that Shadow needs to "work smarter, not harder".

Maybe Randall begins to question G.U.N's methods on dealing with the "alien threat" and also wonders if they truly are a threat after seeing the bond they have with his step-daughter (who he himself has struggled to create a bond with). Maybe he, Rachel and his team are part of an undercover operation that Commander Walter's set up after the events of Sonic 2 and (perhaps unbeknownst to Director Rockwell) was being formed during the events of Sonic 3. While he, Rachel and his team may only be under orders at first, but slowly they begin to realise that Jojo was right about the aliens. Randall and Rachel learn to work together with the aliens, which also helps Randall to bond with Jojo and for her and her mother to build stronger connection with each other.

Commander Walter's felt guilty for his past actions with the aliens (especially Shadow) and in G.U.N's role in causing Maria's death. In honour of her memory and to bridge the gap between humans and aliens, he formed another secret group within G.U.N in hopes of expanding Earth's protection to aliens as well as humans and to demolise the xenophobia both by G.U.N and within it. Rouge has been secretly working for this group while posing as a bounty hunter for Director Rockwell's team. She, Randall and Rachel hope to expand this protective group not only to Earth, but to other planets beyond Earth.

Shadow is obviously skeptical of this group and is reluctant to trust them, not forgetting what they did to Maria or willing to forgive Commander Walter's for imprisoning him for 50 years. It's only when Rouge shows him a video that Commander Walters secretly made not long before his death where Walter's apologises for his past actions and while he acknowledges he can never truly make up for them he hopes that in creating this new team that the sins of the past can be re-written and that someday both aliens and humans can live together in harmony without fear of threat from either group.

While unsure if he'll ever truly forgive Commander Walters, he admits that starting this group is a start. While he says he doesn't owe G.U.N anything, but he believes that Maria would want what this group is offering and agrees to help for her sake (and to lesser extent his new friends).

Though Shadow refuses permanently join membership of the group, he does agree to work alongside Rouge and Omega as Team Dark. The group (including Randall, Rachel and their team) either deserts from G.U.N completely if their plan is revealed to Director Rockwell or they continue to work within G.U.N to tear the old prejuidiced system apart. Either way, I think this is a good way to link back Team Dark's connection to G.U.N without ruining Shadow's character arc in the SCU.

SCU Rouge and Rachel frenemies and G.U.N teammates

I thought I'd add a bit more to my theories about the kind of relationship I imagine Rouge and Rachel having both as G.U.N agents and as frenemies/Vitriolic Best Buds. I shared a little on my last Amy and Maddie post:

I'm thinking their partnership and eventual friendship could share similarities to Rouge and Topaz's partnership and Vitriolic Best Buds friendship in the Sonic X series.

Like Topaz, Rachel seems to trust authority, and both seem to have a pretty hot temper. Though Rachel is pretty green to G.U.N while Topaz has more seniority. Also, I read that Topaz has a tendency to give up easily which doesn't sound at all like determined Rachel. Plus, Rachel has a lot of sass to keep up with Rouge.

Rouge is the rule-breaking jewel thief with lot of sass. I'm sure would think up a lot of witty roasts against Rachel, much like Rouge does with Topaz, e.g. calling her an "old lady". Either way, I'm sure these two will definitely be constantly bickering and sassing the other.

I believe Commander Walter's does (or did if he truly is dead) want to build rapport between aliens and humans to make up for his past failures and making an alien like Rouge a member of G.U.N is considered the first step. I imagine Rouge and Rachel will not like each other at first. Rachel especially would not trust the thieving alien bat, calling her "nothing but trouble". Regardless both are forced to work together on a mission and basically struggle at first to work together.

By learning to work together as a team they eventually learn to respect and even care for each other. While they might be too proud to admit they love and care about each other, in time they themselves understand that they do and share that affection in their own special way, e.g. a high-five, power bump or simply sharing a smile.

Do you think Rouge and Rachel's partnership/friendship could mirror Rouge's Sonic X counterpart's friendship/partnership with Topaz? How do you believe their relationship will be similar and how do you think they will differ?

I can definitely see this song playing in the opening of a Shadow spin-off. It could represent how Shadow saw Maria and how much he misses her.

It could also see it representing his self-loathing and his identity crises as he doesn't know why he's still alive and what his purpose is after saving the Earth from being destroyed by the Eclipse Cannon.

I imagine him in isolation and going through his routine like Sonic in the first film, only his version of his rountine is more subdued and depressing.

I'm thinking of doing some Sorting House discussions for different fictional characters, but I thought I'd ask how people feel about it first considering all the different controversy about the series and even the author herself. Of course, I'm not here to go into controversial disccussions, I'm just asking how people feel about me sharing my thoughts on Sorting Houses with you guys.

Amy Singing in the SCU

If we ever get a moment of Amy singing in the SCU I can definitely hear her singing these songs, particularly Smile. I'm falling in love with Kimko's singing voice. She sounds so pure and sweet like a Disney Princess. 🥰

Amy could also sing this song to Tails or even Cream the Rabbit (when they introduce her in the SCU). She'd definitely be acting the part of a comforting big sister.

Either way, if Amy does sing in the SCU franchise, I'd love to hear her with Kimiko Glenn's voice.
