Girl that’s so beautiful, I think El Chavo is A thing all over Latam, not sure Argentina but it’s like deep essential lore of being latino, yes?
ig it is! many mexican telenovelas/shows were absolutely huge here cuz the second biggest brazilian tv channel used to buy the rights to a lot of them so things like chiquititas, la usurpadora, rebelde and el chavo are cultural icons fr! el chavo is such an integral part of our imaginary like every carnaval you’ll see hundreds of costumes and its sooooo common for people to reference it in day-to-day conversation

Potentially delusional thoughts about a possible Mamma Mia 3:
- Andy Garcia is Cuban, but given that he mention “Mexico 1959” it is entirely possible that Fernando is supposed to be Mexican. Either way, this is how we get some of ABBA’s Spanish numbers in. Let’s face it, some of them are definitely better than the English
- Harry keeps being left without a love interest. It’s 2023, give him a man already. Anyway Bill has bi energy, is adventurous, and Stellan Skarsgard says kissing Julie Walters makes his back hurt because she’s so short. Food for thought.
- Rosie can sing If It Wasn’t For the Nights when they break up. Let’s face it, she and Bill were doomed to fail anyway. They got together after having spoken approximately four times, and then he cheated on her, and both of them have said they liked being alone.
- come to think of it, is it possible that the reason Tanya has been married so many times is because she’s either pretending or trying to distract herself from something?… or someone?? It is entirely possible she has been in love with Rosie this entire time and either doesn’t realize it or doesn’t want to lose her seemingly straight lone wolf friend
- so yeah, abba Spanish editions, oh and Bill is Swedish so they could throw in some of the Swedish versions!!! I want Cher to sing Chiquitita
- oh and I want Tanya comforting Rosie over her breakup and it turns into a duet of So Long because that would be iconic

name your vecna-defying song (with or without explaining the choice) and tag 5 st buddies to answer the same
Got tagged by @henrystars @flowercrowngods @yournowheregirl and @hammity-hammer tysm i'm a huge music nerd so i loved seeing your choices ❤️❤️
Mine is Chiquitita by ABBA (apologies in advance bc i'm gonna get real emotional about this )
It holds so many memories for me, from dancing with my sister and my grandpa in my grandparents' kitchen to shouting it at the top of my lungs being drunk and happy in a bar to crying while watching mamma mia time and time again with some of my very best friends. Almost everyone i care about holds a piece of that song for me and will always be tied to me through it.
Also it's objectively such a GOOD song: the buildup, the motifs that keep getting stronger throughout the song, the iconic intro and the way it develops into that gorgeous cadence, the balance between melody and singing, the reminder of hope and togetherness in the lyrics and the great love that is in friendship... If there's one song to remind me of all the reasons to keep going it's gotta be this one. (And, needless to say, ABBA. Don't think i need to explain that one ❤️)
I'll tag @pizzaqueen @bossyknow-it-all @ronanceluvrr @steddiesucker and @spectrum-spectre 🤗

Hi. So right now the songs that I got completely stuck on are Lover’s Spit (i love it so much!) and You think you’re a man. I also love When my boy walks down the street and forever young. Also Proud and Ambition but I can’t listen to these two yet without wanting to cry lmfao. There’s so many more but these are the ones that are currently on a repeat. Which ones are your favorite ones? Also while watching this interview, i knew how private Gale is which makes sense and honestly I relate to it (can’t imagine how it’d be if qaf came out during social media era) but when he even said in the interview that he can’t talk about his brother, that really surprised me and made me go ‘oh, he’s private private.’ Also it’s insane how he is from Brian. I mean I obviously knew that and didn’t expect him to be like Brian but it does just prove how talented he is as an actor. But you can kind of see how shy he really is with the way he keeps looking around the room while talking. Or in some other interviews how he always fidgets with his fingers (which does remind me of Brian how he’d do that often).
Btw i love that jeep gifset! I miss and love the jeep! I honestly think it fit Brian way more than the corvette.
Hey anon!
Those are very good choices, I approve lol 😌
I love so many I'll probably forget some
Darude - Sandstorm
Katty B - Let's Hear It For The Boy
Sigor Ros - Svefn-G-Englar
The Smiths - How Soon Is Now?
iiO - Rapture
Black - It's A Wonderful Life
Republica- Ready To Go
The Magnetic Fields - When My Boy Walks Down The Street
ABBA - Chiquitita
Broken Social Scene - Lover's Spit
Namzip Club Remix - Viva Columbia
Lo Fidelty All-stars - Battleflag
New Order - True Faith
Temperance - Forever Young
The Drifters - Save The Last Dance For Me
Heather Small Remix - Proud
There's so many bops tbh.
Yes, I would be the same as him and am kinda glad there wasn't the intrusive social media presence there is now as he already found it overwhelming I think he'd lose his mind if it was like that then. Of course we know actors are not their characters but sometimes share traits, with Gale though he's the polar opposite which shows how great an actor he is and that he was made to play Brian, no one else would've made him as iconic. The backstory to getting the job - it was literal destiny.
He is such an introvert- relatable!
His interviews are wild because you can tell in some that he'd rather die than be there it's his nervous anxiety like you say with looking around/fidgeting but some where he goes off on a tangent talking in tongues instead of point A to B and you're left thinking what the fuck does he mean?! But that's just Gale.
Thank you, I love the Jeep and there were no gifsets of it I could find so I made my own. While the Corvette was his dream car, his heart belonged to the Jeep.

I'm bored :(
I'm pretty bored rn so I'm gonna list some of my favourite albums of all time, as well as my favourite tracks because I have nothing better to do :)
Some honourable mentions as well: Meteora - Linkin Park, Hellbilly Deluxe - Rob Zombie, Iowa - Slipknot, BABYMETAL, Stay Hungry - Twisted Sister, Black Sabbath
Also, I do like a lot of music so there are a lot more, but these are some I always like to visit
OK Computer - Radiohead Literally how could you not put this one. It's one of the best albums ever released. A literal journey. Favourite tracks: Paranoid Android, Karma Police, Airbag
Toxicity - System Of A Down Probably the best metal album there is, or nu metal at least. System have no bad songs and I'm convinced. Chop Suey is their most popular song for a reason. The last 30 seconds >>>> Favourite tracks: Shimmy, X, Chop Suey!, ATWA
System Of A Down More SOAD lol, this time their self titled debut album. Too underrated, people don't talk about it enough :( one of their best songs is in that album (Spiders) Favourite tracks: Spiders, Know, Sugar, Darts
Hybrid Theory - Linkin Park I just got my CD of this album today!! Again, one of the best nu metal albums. Probably the best Linkin Park album too (love their other stuff though, Minutes to Midnight >>>) Favourite tracks: Papercuts, Crawling, In The End
Nevermind - Nirvana Iconic. And amazing. And Nirvana. This album omfg I love it Favourite tracks: Come As You Are, Smells Like Teen Spirit (cry about it idc), Lithium
Hurry Up, We're Dreaming - M83 This is like the only non rock/metal album here because it's THAT good. You wouldn't believe that it came out in 2011. This album makes me feel things I can't describe, I recommend that everyone listens to it at least once in their lives. Favourite tracks: Intro, Outro, Midnight City, Wait, Reunion
Follow The Leader - Korn This is currently the only Korn album I have on CD (I just ordered the self titled one today though) and I love it. The song with Fred Durst from Limp Bizkit?? Cool af Favourite tracks: All In the Family, Got the Life
Ride The Lightning - Metallica This IS the best Metallica album and idgaf about what anyone says. This is too amazing, I bought it for my dad recently because he loves Fade To Black. Do I blame him? No. Favourite tracks: Ride The Lightning, Fade To Black, The Call Of Ktulu
Paranoid - Black Sabbath I would be crazy to not include Black Sabbath. Favourite tracks: Iron Man, War Pigs
Spit - Kittie I LOVE KITTIE SO MUCH AAGGHH. I ordered their album Oracle today, wanted to get Spit too but it's so expensive and for what??? I'm too broke for that :( Favourite tracks: Brackish, Charlotte, Paperdoll, Suck
Slivers.exe - MEJIBRAY One of the most iconic Visual Kei albums I must say. This album alone got me into vkei. Japanese metal wouldn't be the same without MEJIBRAY. Favourite tracks: Kore wo Izon to Yobu nara, CRAZED BRAIN
LOVE IS A MELODY - D&D I giggled typing this because it's so different to everything else here. D&D was a Japanese Eurobeat girl group from the 90s and their music SLAPS. All of it is on Spotify so hooray, also check out their sub-unit Aya&Chika from D&D. Kiss in the Sun is too good Favourite tracks: SUNSHINE HERO, SHAPE UP LOVE, BRAND NEW LOVE
SUPER EURO PARTY - HINOI Team Again, this is another Japanese Eurobeat girl group, but from the mid 2000s instead. They had a couple of original songs but also did covers of classic Eurobeat tunes. Nice album Favourite tracks: NIGHT OF FIRE, IKE IKE, SUPER EURO FLASH, AISHITERU
Voulez-Vous - ABBA Pretty people love ABBA Favourite tracks: Voulez-Vouz, Gimme Gimme Gimme!, Chiquitita, I Have A Dream
Wish You Were Here - Pink Floyd Solely because of Shine On You Crazy Diamond Favourite tracks: Shine On You Crazy Diamond, Wish You Were Here
The Dark Side Of The Moon - Pink Floyd How could you not love this album? All Pink Floyd albums are insanely good, though Favourite tracks: The Great Gig In The Sky, Breathe (In The Air), Brain Damage
I feel like I've put enough here LMAO, also I would've put like pictures of the album covers but I honestly can't be bothered so I'm gonna leave it here but if you actually read this then thanks!! Hopefully you like these albums too :)

A journey through time: From ABBA to TIKTOK
If we talk about music from the 70’s it is impossible for me not to relate it and immediately remember ABBA I think my favorite group of that era. I think their music is an iconic legacy that continues to mark the generations, without going any further on the TikTok platform where they tend to viralize the new trendy songs ABBA has had many of his greatest hits as protagonists of trends within the social network used mostly by younger generations. Songs like “angeleyes” “Money, Money, Money” “chiquitita” for its emotionality, sound and lyrics motivate young people to create entertaining content for the platform with these songs bringing to this generation sounds of the past but that are still fresh and current to fit in a short video of a teenager doing a dance or lipsing.
I also think it’s important to see the impact of the movie Mamma mia and how it occupies different ABBA songs to be the common thread of the story. A movie that was filmed in the 2000s with a 2010s prequel set to music from the last century is still gaining fans for its unique music and story.
It makes me think about how immortal music is as someone 40 years ago was able to enjoy it and how even that person’s grandchild can enjoy the same music their grandfather once enjoyed. I like being able to see that with music, its ability to transcend and travel through time, especially with iconic groups like ABBA who continue to set trends with their timeless music.

Chiquitita's Night of Mugler at The Brooklyn Museum On Saturday, March 25, in the baroque gallery of the Beaux Arts Hall at The Brooklyn Museum, drag sensation Chiquitita, known to her downtown congregants as Miss Bushwig 2018, teamed up with the museum to celebrate drag culture, transgressive creativity and the iconic designs of Mugler. "Mugler’s designs celebrate women, while never undermining their power or reducing them down to their body type," Chiquitita says.Hailed as a fashion visionary, Thierry Mugler was known for his opulent, avant-garde pieces that existed as much for fashion as they did for the spectacle. But underlying the glamorous sheen of Mugler’s designs — the cheeky silhouettes, the mythic costumes and fearless use of unconventional materials (latex, vinyl, plexiglas) — was a marked alignment with fetish and kink communities that kept his designs feeling fresh and subversive to mainstream audiences, bringing the grit-and-sleaze essence of subcultures to the highest echelons of fashion. A NIGHT OF MUGLER featured The Brooklyn Museum’s acclaimed Thierry Mugler: Couturissime exhibit and an edgy lineup of some of New York’s most fabulous queer artists. The benefit also helped fundraise for public programming, ensuring that the tristate community can continue to experience the subversive universe of the French designer with low cost of entry. This is the second year of Chiquitita's partnership with The Brooklyn Museum, through which she's brought her community into prominent spaces that celebrate creative expression, artistic freedom and the vibrancy of queer culture. With DJ sets by Dee Diggs and Tito Vida, immersive photo booths by Victor G. Jeffreys II and Nico Kiray and live performances by artists from Brooklyn and beyond, the unforgettable night was a necessary reprieve from the assailment of this past year's anti-trans, anti-drag and anti-LGBTQIA+ legislation. Related | We Must 'Show Up In Force' Against Anti-Trans Legislation"To gather in solidarity with one another, taking up very public space in the Brooklyn Museum, goes beyond drag, music or fashion," Chiquitita tells PAPER.And like the complex nature of any hardship in life, A NIGHT OF MUGLER was more than just one thing: a protest, an homage and an absolute party. Check out our conversation with Chiquitita on the night to remember with chromatic SIDEWALKKILLA photos that immortalize the epic night in sparkle-and-flash pizazz. What was the inspiration for this evening at Brooklyn Museum? Many years ago, I used to do an event called the "Met Gayla" around Brooklyn in all kinds of little bars and spaces. I would take themes from previous Met Galas and give them to the people that know themes better than anyone -- queer people! [The Brooklyn Museum] gave us the opportunity to partner with them and their curators to design an event themed around an exhibit (last year Warhol, this year Mugler), while helping them raise money for their public access programs. It has been a fantastic partnership and I’m incredibly thankful to their team’s continued trust and support, letting us lead an event where we as queer people get to take up space! What did you wear? I had the pleasure of wearing two separate looks for the event. First off, for my hosting gown, I was able to collaborate with my extremely talented friend, Ryan Seminara. He created something I will treasure for the rest of my life! It was the perfect lavender satin dress, taking inspiration from Mugler's Angel [perfume] bottle. Secondly, for my performance look I wore a burgundy mesh gown made entirely by me that was rhinestoned head to toe, inspired by some looks in the exhibit itself.Do you resonate with Thierry Mugler’s designs? Personally, Mugler has always been a direct reference for me ever since I started getting into fashion. Mugler’s designs celebrate women, while never undermining their power or reducing them down to their body type. To me, this is something that many in the fashion industry fail to do. Clothes and fashion have such a strong impact on the way we present and view ourselves in the world. Mugler’s designs empower women in a world where often we’re put down or marginalized, and I love that! What does it mean for the drag and queer community to come together to celebrate drag, music and fashion? We’re being met with very, very trying times right now. The only thing on many queer peoples' mind is the onslaught of anti-LGBTQIA+ legislation and messaging, directly impacting me and my fellow trans siblings. This legislation being advanced- — forcing children to de-transition, denying access to hormones, taking parents of queer children's rights away, the ability to decide what is right for their child — rightfully has a lot of us very scared. To gather in solidarity with one another, taking up very public space in the Brooklyn Museum, goes beyond drag, music or fashion. We’re celebrating life beyond, and we’re remaining a beacon for those in the country who are fighting in the states that are the very front lines of this current political onslaught. What was the attendee response to the event? We hear a lot of comments from attendees that they love being invited to a space like the Brooklyn Museum for a big fancy party, where they have a chance to not only create but show off a fun look, check out some art and fantastic performances, all for a great cause! What were the performances at the event? For this event, we like to build on the theme of the associated exhibition, so we wanted things that echoed Mugler. We had live music, amazing pole artists, drag and ballroom performers — trying to give something for everyone! In light of the vicious anti-trans and drag rhetoric and legislation surfacing in the past few months, how important is it to find moments of community, joy and celebration? Legislation being advanced by an extremely loud minority in this country will not dampen our community and our joy. The queer community and drag performers, transgender people and those in every spectrum of identity, we’ve all been around since the beginning of humanity. If anything, what is happening in some parts of this country has only reaffirmed my commitment to bringing these moments to the forefront of contemporary culture, not only for local community members, but because I’ve realized that our community in Brooklyn and New York City acts like a beacon showing others we are here, we are loud, we are proud of ourselves, and we aren’t going anywhere!Photography by SIDEWALKKILLA https://www.papermag.com/chiquitita-night-of-mugler-2659695914.html
