After putting out a host of singles, Sir Chloe’s highly anticipated debut full-length, I Am the Dog, arrived last May, earning plaudits from fans and critics alike: “Along with a twangy, soft-loud art-punk sound that evokes the influence of ’90s icons like the Pixies and Hole,” raves AllMusic, “Sir Chloe have a knack for crafting sharp-tongued anthems that are often built around the struggle between the ego and the id, or more specifically, the human and the animal.” On Saturday at a sold-out Music Hall of Williamsburg, the Vermont five-piece kicked off a two-night run.

What are Artemis’ values and why? What are their goals and why? What are their favorite things? Is there a reason? What do they do for fun?

Artemis' values mainly consist of Honesty, Compassion and Having the ability to let go of things when the time is right. They treasure these values greatly due to their past with their parents, and the fact that they've had to deal with so many deaths in the family and with friends.

Artemis' goals consist of finally having the courage to stand up for themself, taking down Shinra with the rest of Avalanche, putting their foot down and standing up for themself in front of their mother, visiting their fathers grave and telling him just how far they were able to make it without him, to get better at playing the violin as one of their many hobbies, having the ability to take care of themself without feeling as if they're going to fall over and into the hole they've dug for themself, and finally, letting go of the past and embracing the future.

Their favourite things consist of spending time with the kids in the Sector 7 slums, helping out the Neighbourhood Watch when they get the chance to do so, spending time with Wedge and his cats, and lastly, freedom to do as they wish and/or see fit.

For fun they mostly like to play little games with the kids in Sector 7, such as pirates, tag, or whatever it may be! They adore kids! They also really enjoy playing with Wedge's cats! (Which in turn, Wedge loves as well!), They also really love playing board games and coming up with new potions for the missions for Avalanche!

Little note that I want to include: Artemis is more or less behind the scenes in Avalanche considering they're also an Alchemist, meaning they can easily make potions, remedies and what-not! So they always make sure to make extras for Avalanche when they go out on a mission! They usually give them to Wedge to hold onto for everyone!

I'm currently on vacation in a tropical country rn and the villa I'm staying in feels so much like Donna's Villa in Mamma Mia - I love it so much! (I might reblog and share pictures of this place in the future but rn I'd like not to doxx myself lol) It's hella homey and I LOVE all the animals here; they have 4 dogs and 2 cats who are all my besties now. (I've never been a big pet person and now I want one)

09•24•22 - Vegas Day 2

Every year we go to the iHeartRadio Daytime Stage, and every year we suffer haha. We forgot to bring our mini fans, so we Amazon Primed them to Lisa's the night before, and thank goodness for those. They save us.

We got to the festival a bit late, which kind of sucked because we were actually interested in the first performer - Lauren Spencer Smith. We had a hard time figuring out where to park, but decided to go back to Treasure Island and walk from there since that's what we did last year. It was a long, hot walk, and took longer than expected, which is why we were late. We could hear Lauren's last song from outside the gates, but that's not quite the same.

It was almost 100 degrees, and right off the bat we were dying. We really hate the Area 15 venue, because it's just an asphalt parking lot. It just reflects the heat back at you. There's hardly any shade, and nowhere to sit down. They need to find something more like Coachella, with grass and shade and all that.

But anyway, thank goodness for the little fans to blow on our sweat and cool us off. They were running on full blast nearly the whole time.

We stayed in the crowd for Ryan Hurd, Girl in Red (who reminded me so much of Heather Fuhr), Chloe, Avril Lavigne, Gayle, and Chase Rice before we took our first break, and it was a lot. We were sitting in the dirty parking lot between each set and getting disgusting haha, but our backs and feet needed a break.

Avril was literally the best thing ever. She sang so many of my favorites - Girlfriend, Bite Me, My Happy Ending, I'm With You, and Sk8er Boi. She had a killer punk princess outfit on, and sent big balloons off into the crowd. Her visuals were insane, and the whole thing was great. My 7-year old self would have been psyched. I only wish she'd done Complicated, and Love Sux. And maybe What the Hell. She has so many bangers. Now I want to go to a strictly Avril concert.

Gayle did her iconic ABCDEFU and Beach was thrilled.

During our break for a couple people that we didn't care to see, we got a cup of ice water, and found a patch of shade to sit in (albeit, still on the asphalt). It was so nice to have a break (although brayden was still complaining about the venue and he hated the asphalt hahah, it made us laugh).

Then we got back up for 5SOS, and they were SO GOOD as always. We've seen them at iHeart before, and they just bring the party. We saw Lauv, sat in the T-Mobile lounge (TURF!) during Latto, and then went back out for Willow - who looks just like her dad, and has such a powerful, strong voice. I was impressed.

Then we left before Big Time Rush came out, because we didn't care too much about them and we were tired, hot, and ready for dinner!

The walk back also felt SO LONG, but at least it had started to cool off.

We were so happy to be back to the car! We got dinner at Chili's, and it was life changing. I was so happy to wash my hands, and drink all kinds of beverages. And the food was so great. I love the relief of attending to basic needs after neglecting them all day.

Then we made a quick stop at the outlets, so I could get a new Kate Spade bag - that's the only place I ever want to get them since they're so much cheaper. They were on a great sale, and I'm so happy with it. We also found a dress for Beach to wear to brunch while we were shopping, so that was good.

Then we stopped to get drinks before going home to take such amazing showers, play pool, and get some much needed sleep!!

White Shirt Shoot 1

In todays lecture we were given a task in order to kickstart us to produce content for our magazines. The task was to style a white shirt in a way that communicates our narrative taking the form of an informal photoshoot. The only rule was a white shirt had to be included; aside from that we could use any props, backgrounds and make up we wanted.

Before I begin to discuss each images qualities and disadvantages I am going to explain the stylistic choices I made regarding my models appearances. On my first model chloe, I styled the white shirt underneath a translucent boob tube with it half tucked into a leather mini skirt, underneath the skirt on one leg she wore a pair of pinstripe trousers, with floral pattered tights covering the other leg. I accessorised with a grommet belt around her right leg and a studded one around her waist, and two silver necklaces around her neck. Starting with the clothing, I went for the overlaying of the skirt on the trousers to mimic the DIY aesthetic that goth inherited from punk, as well the unique gender expression engrained in goth culture that I attempted to communicate by combining the skirt with the trousers; merging typical femininity and masculinity and dipping into their inherent gender blurring. The boob tube also stemmed from the DIY element, with the safety pins around the nipple acting as an expression of an average goths outward openness regarding sexuality, which is similar to why I incorporated the extra chains; I think they have loose kink connotations. Not only is the cross necklace made using a bike chain which perfectly demonstrates DIY, it indicates the respectfulness goths exhibit towards other cultures, religions and beliefs; which I first stumbled across in my research around the Visigoth’s sack of Rome; and their “politeness” towards Christian’s at that time. Aswell as this I also felt as though the cross’ unusually large size compared to typical religious crosses contributed to the extravagant, over the top style goth fashion possesses. I opted for the floral tights as one of my predictions based on my research thus far is that goth will take a much more feminine turn for all people that identity with the goth subculture; in short because of the increased awareness of the LGBTQ+ community and the development of pop culture influences such as Wednesday Addams. As for her hair and makeup, I attempted to emulate a trad goth look with heavy eyeliner, black lips and a pale complexion aswell as the exaggerated hair that I achieved through the use of back combing and hair spray. When exploring gothic rock I learnt the significance of Siouxsie Sioux and her band, so for the hair and makeup I took inspiration from her iconic look.

I think although this wasn’t my initial intention, my second model Sadie’s look is much more muted. I styled the white shirt underneath a band tee, paired with flared leather trousers, Jadon dr martens and accessories such as the grommet belt strung like a bag across her shoulder. Although the look has unusual elements such as the fingerless glove on one hand, in general it appears more put together and more resemblant of the modern goth; which I think is quite apparent when the two are stood together. I included the band t shirt to emphasis the importance of music in the development of goth, with the band “Divorce” actually being an indie / rock band from the early 2000s. I went with the dr martens because I feel as though they are a timeless staple within the goth wardrobe as well as that of many other subcultures. I feel as though the leather trousers contribute to the cleaner aesthetic this look has, and may be a material I consider to be involved in the future of goth.

Moving onto locations, I used various spots around and under the subway near my flat. Although I would’ve preferred to go further and take some photos in the oasis market to encorporate a musical background or around pigeon park to include its gothic style cathedral; the shoot was last minute and it was raining, so going to those locations would’ve comprised the hair and makeup etc. I think the most effective backgrounds are probably the overly textured walls with the graffiti on them, as the images they’re in exude almost a rebellious attitude; perfect for reflecting the anti establishment stance of goths dating back to the defeat of the Roman Empire.

Need Me Like That

Chapter One

Gavin Evans gripped the steering wheel with an intensity that turned his knuckles white before he changed the radio station. That song, why did that song have to be playing today? It was almost ten years old for crying out loud. He hated that song; it would tear apart everything inside of him if he had to hear the whole damn thing. It was only then that the other station decided to mind-fuck him as well as it played All I Need is an Angel, the song that started this entire mess. He pulled to the side of the road, getting out of his SUV and kicking his tire since it was the only thing he could do at that moment with his frustration.

He let out a guttural roar, hoping that would help calm him down. It didn’t. It couldn’t. In all honesty, the only person who could ever really calm him down, was the one who had just caused him to pull over to the side of the road. Chloe Cole, pop princess, international icon, star of stage and screen, love of his life, the one who slipped away, and he never understood why she sent him that break up letter, why she couldn’t do it face to face, or what he’d done to make her so angry.

He counted to ten before getting back in his car to drive to the location of his next possible job. He had everything he needed in the back of his SUV if they decided to hire him, and they should, Gavin Evans was the best at what he did. They would be idiots to not hire him.

He still couldn’t believe that, that song still got to him almost a decade since its release when it took the world by storm. At first he’d been proud of Chloe from afar, for all that she accomplished from something that started out as a dare. That was until he sat down and listened to her entire album, listened to the lyrics, looked them up online to confirm what he’d heard. She had painted him as the bad guy, made it sound like he cheated on her, when he never did, he never would. She was the one that ended things; he still had the letter—in his wallet, hell he even carried it with him every day when he was training for the Navy, and later the SEALS, on every mission he ever went on. He would look at it whenever he got nostalgic for the past, whenever he needed to remember life wasn’t all rainbows and unicorns.

As he drove down the country road he started to relax, it would be okay, he just couldn’t turn the radio on for a while, he knew if he did he would probably just be assaulted with one of her other songs, she really was successful. Every once in a while he would start to hear a song, and realize it was her voice. It always felt as though she was haunting him.

No one expected Chloe to end up a superstar, but she was, all thanks to a dare Jordan gave her and him encouraging her to do it. An open mic night performance of one of her favorite songs, All I Need is an Angel, and everything changed. Success was just around the corner, and she dropped him like he meant nothing to her, and then dragged him through the mud with the songs she wrote, how dare she? He never thought Chloe would turn out to be like, but she did. Had he ever even known her?

Gavin did the only thing he could think of to escape it all, he ran off and joined the Navy, he got lucky and with a lot of hard, grueling work he because a part of the SEALS. Now he was retired from the military, owned his own security business that if it wasn’t already, on its way to becoming the best in the country.

He arrived at the estate, he wasn’t even sure exactly who he was meeting with. All he knew was he’d already had to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement before accepting the meeting. He rolled his window down and hit the call button, “Gavin Evans, I’m from Mad Dog Security, I’m expected.”

“Mad Dog Security,” The voice on the other end seemed confused, “Oh yes, I see you on the list. Come on in and park in front of the stairs.”

After the gate opened he pulled up the driveway, impressed with how expansive the property was, whoever this celebrity was they really had done well for themselves, but he could see places where the security could be improved upon already.

Waiting on the steps were two men in designer suits. Great he had to deal with the manager an agent, he hated dealing with them. They never really seemed to understand what the celebrity really needed and he had a feeling these two sure as hell were in over their heads.

“Mr. Evans, thank you for coming out here. We’re sure this is unusual circumstances, but we’re looking for the best bodyguard and security firm for our client.” The man with curly red hair explained.

“So when do I get to know who the client is, and what’s going on?”

“Well over the years she’s received the normal scary letters from fans, always had them turned over to law enforcement of course, but the last two months, it’s been an alarming number of letters coming from the same person. We don’t know who that person is, and we thought our security detail in place already could handle it, but—the letters have gotten a bit more personal in details. They know stuff the general public doesn’t, things they couldn’t know.” The other man with the dark, greasy hair explained.

Gavin nodded, “Okay, well I can already tell you where things need to be beefed up, especially at the gate. I got in here far too easily.”

“Yes, that was one of the things we were hoping you would say. We’re also requesting that you personally be her new bodyguard, twenty-four-seven.”

Gavin took a moment, “I charge a hefty fee for that.”

“We’re willing to pay you five times you’re going rate. We need her safe, we need her family safe.” They led him up the stairs, “You will be able to move in right away, correct?”

“My stuff is in the car.” He was always prepared, knowing the higher the profile client, the more likely they would want him personally on the case. And these guys wanted to pay him five times his normal fee; he would be a fool not to take this case.

“Great” They opened the front door and let Gavin in.

He was shocked that he didn’t see portraits of anyone greeting him. In every other celebrity house he’d been in he couldn’t escape them. Here he saw none. “Does she hate the way she looks in pictures?”

“She’s far more down to earth then most pop princesses.” The redhead explained.

A knot twisted in Gavin’ stomach, he decided it had to be due to hearing those damn songs earlier. “So who lives here on the property?”

“She does of course, and so does her ex-husband, their son, and her choreographer. Her parents come up on the weekends as does her younger brother, and of course her ex’s parents as well. All very friendly and cordial to be honest, sometimes we forget they’re not still married.”

“Well I would like to get a tour of the property, and of course meet everyone that lives here so we could get started.”

“Great, we’ll take you out to the dance studio, that’s where she and D.B. are working on a new routine for her upcoming tour, if this isn’t done by then you will have to go on tour with her.”

“I understand, I’ve done the tour thing before. I can handle it.” Gavin tried to ignore the chill that shot through him when they’d said D.B. though. “I’ll do whatever I can to keep her safe.”

“Great, wonderful, let’s sign the paperwork and get you that tour of the property.” The darker haired man said pulling a contract from his desk.
