Wait quick question when you say you're a spoonie on your blog does it mean you're disabled or is it only mental health stuff? there's lowkey a distinction

I am both physically and mentally disabled, I'm blind, (legally) since birth on a partially rejected cornea transplant, partially deaf (2 ear drainages) and have been born with a bilateral cleft palate so severe it lead to septic shock, I am entirely dependant and have the bodily functioning skills of a 10 year old at best. I've been under surgery exactly 37 times by now, including having lived through anesthesia awareness. I also have a triad of pholicular occlusion and chronic fatigue.

I'm tired of the ableist rethoric that having a blog with Whimsy and Fun somehow gets ignorant people thinking you may not be "disabled enough."

The amount of times I've seen posts forewarning how " this is about physical disability, do not derail!" which, while fair enough, has also been used as a dog whistle and remixes the rethoric that should a disability not be visible it's somehow less important is exhausting.

Just because my blog has a certain aesthetic or I choose to focus on other aspects doesn't mean I'm less disabled, in fact, should we play Disability Olympics (which I hate doing) I'd win over all those people. CPTSD impacts my life as well, I lived on trauma loop since I was born idk what being safe means bc if I am "safe" I will immediately think everything bad is waiting to happen at once and incrementally and I will start spiraling, more hypervigilant than i already am.

I'm depersonalized and desensitized except when I self regulate through sensory input which includes food, hypersexuality-driven behaviour, trauma reenactment self sabotage or, best case scenario, my comfort show. I need constant, potent stimuli to avoid dissociating constantly.

Do not, EVER, assume someone choosing to post about fun things means they've had, or do have an easy life. Most people including other disabled ones would be dead at 1% of my journey, moreover, the micro-agressions from part of the disabled community thinking those focusing more on being ND can't be disabled needs to be addressed.

You're not infallible, you're disabled, like me, like many others, quit wasting your time policing how anyone navigates existing.

Also fact more parents groom and sexually abuse their kids directly or indirectly than strangers.

It is so fucking sinister that the only form of child abuse that society really cares about is sexual in nature. parents are free to control everything about their child's movement, presentation, eating, faith traditions, information exposure, socialization, and can restrict all of these things to an extreme degree as a form of punishment or in order to shape the child into whatever they want that child to be. and that's all considered completely normal, the parent's right! people don't even see the fact that a parent has the power to control so much about a child's life for damn near 20 years to be a problem. The only time they become concerned about child abuse is when the prospect of an outside stranger behaving in a sexual way toward a child is raised. and yeah a lot of really horrific sexual abuses are enacted unto children, but that's because they have zero control over their own lives and bodies in any other way as well. It is all about power and control. and typically the ones who are abusing children the most frequently are the ones who have the most control over them, the parents.
